I must say I haven’t watched American Idol since Danny was on it. I did watch Dancing With the Stars. Donald’s and Peta’s freestyle performance took my breath away. All the finalists were great!

I’ve been meaning to tell Pam that her daughter is very pretty. I remember those years of Proms, Homecomings, and all the dances in-between. Those are special memories you cherish forever.

I come here often to read of the upcoming announcement from Danny. Hope to hear

Well another year of Idol is done, was not impressed with the finale prduction but watchhing how emotional Phillip got was very sweet.

So Danny you have kept us on edge all week waiting for label news, you know you cant do this to us.

I see that several people got their EPs, listen up and let us know what you think.

I’m happy in my mailbox was Danny’s EP”Love Again” I love all the songs.Danny is very talented.

Hopefully those that are waiting for the EP or just got them will chime in ant let us know what they think.

Lurker, I like the idea of a non-genre specific album but in todays world it is probably not possible. Unless Dannny signs with a generic label ~thinking Decca, most labels have a specified field.

I remember many negative comments at MJs when Danny left RCA. There were also negative comments about Danny’s numbers.

Since then, other Idols have left their labels (or labels left them). There are some of those people who thought opening with 65,000 and selling 250,000 was not a good showing. Now they may see those numbers differently.

I keep reading their posts that say “Idols have to expand their fan base.”

Possibly, hot off of AI, an Idol might have a fan base of 10,000 who buy multiple albums plus casual fans who buy one album (if they know about it and if they can find it easily). Two years after AI, that 10,000 may have dropped to 300 in number of fans who are still avid. (I made up these numbers–just guessing.)

Danny has been building a fan base in his church trips. While I hope he stays country, I also hope he sells next time he has an album for sale. I would rather read he sold 40,000 for an album of CCM music than read he sold 4000 of country music.

Something I said previously that I’m still hoping for is that even if he markets to CCM, I hope he will have an album that includes country. Maybe he could have a mixed album and market to both. Yeah, that’s not supposed to be done, but why not? A lot of what is being done in the music world is not working so great, so why not try another formula? He has fans in both. It’s okay with me for him to throw other stuff in there too if he wants. Latin. Yeah. I liked his Maria, Maria. R & B. Fine. Five songs (or 4 for every type of music that any fan might like).

So how long is this album now? 28 or 30 songs?

I am being silly (but serious too). I started thinking about Danny’s EP in which he included more than one type song. Maybe that was a good idea. Maybe Danny sees the “writing on the wall” and knows he must do something unique in order to sell when his next CD comes out.
