American Idol Finalist Danny Gokey Studio Experience

Are you the ultimate Danny Gokey fan?  This is a once in a lifetime chance for you and a guest to attend a private sneak peak listening event at the Sound Stage in Nashville, TN for Danny Gokey’s upcoming album release, hosted by Danny Gokey himself.  Travel and accommodation costs are not included in the bid.

Dawn, a candidate for their Nashville Woman of the Year, is hosting the Celebrity eBay Auction as one of many of fundraising efforts to try and personally raise $50,000 by the end of May.

The celebrity auction is hosted in honor of a special young friend of Dawn’s, Tanner Page, who was diagnosed in June 2009 at age 5 with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Benefiting Free Vision Care Program

New Berlin, WI, March 3, 2011 – The bidding has started on a pair of blue and white Gucci designer eyeglasses worn by 19/RCA Nashville Recording Artist Danny Gokey during American Idol season eight and on the red carpet.  This is the first of two dozen pairs of Gokey glasses that will be auctioned on line during the year to raise funds to help to provide free eye exams and glasses for children in need.

The Clear Days Ahead program is the first medical relief program for Sophia’s Heart, the non-profit organization Gokey founded in memory of his late wife Sophia. The funds will help pay for reduced rate eye exams provided by Wisconsin Vision optometrists.  The optical company will then donate the needed lenses, frames and fabrications valued at more than $200 per pair.  The Milwaukee Teachers Education Association will help screen and refer children eligible for the free exams and eyewear.

Hsing Liu, Director of Operations, Sophia’s Heart Foundation, “This program is a great way to engage Danny’s fans across the country and utilize Wisconsin Vision’s advanced, quality vision care to benefit area children.  We hope to eventually grow this program in other communities.”

More than 20 bids were posted on the current pair of glasses within the auction’s first 24 hours. Besides the eyeglasses, the winning bidder will receive a photo of authenticity, an autographed photo of Gokey and a Danny Gokey signature eyeglasses case designed exclusively for this program by Wisconsin Vision.  Sophia’s Heart and the optical company plan to auction a pair of Gokey glasses at least twice a month.  As Gokey donates his old pairs, Wisconsin Vision as part of its relationship with the recording artist known for his passion for eyewear, will replenish Gokey’s vast collection.

OK, I have no idea if these are for real or not.  I tried to DM Danny about them and didn’t get an answer but it seems pretty legit.  You’ll have to make your own call as the price is pretty high already.  Please let me know if you know one way or another if this is legit.

Hmm, this MIGHT be the most interesting fan item I’ve ever seen. Wow. That’s about all I can say about that.

This is the caricature that votefortheworst.com used for Danny and while they were technically AGAINST Danny, I like the caricature and is definitely a keeper for a Danny fan.  Proceeds are going to the artist.  You’ll have to hurry though, it ends today!
