East Valley Tribune: ‘Idol’ finalist Danny Gokey to perform in Queen Creek
We already posted about the concert but this short article is a good reminder. Also, HERE is the post about a contest to meet Danny on this show.
You don’t have to win “American Idol” to make it in the music business. Take arena-filler Chris Daughtry, glam rocker Adam Lambert and, now, Season Eight third-place finalist Danny Gokey as testament. The affable former church music director and trucker is on tour in support of his recently released first album, a country music collection called “My Best Days.”
Danny Gokey will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road. $25-$39. (480) 987-7469 or www.qcpac.com.
Concert: Danny Gokey at Boys Scouts of America’s Centennial Camp (Salina, KS – Oct 10)
Danny will be the main act at the Boys Scouts of America’s Centennial Camp closing show (Bicentennial Center, Oakdale & Kenwood Parks – Downtown Salina, KS, from October 8, 2010 at 12:00pm to October 10, 2010 at 4:00pm).
I may be wrong but I have the impression this concert is for scouts and families only, not open to general public. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THROUGH THE BICENTENNIAL CENTER.
Entertainment for Closing Show Announced
Danny Gokey, Jennette McCurdy, and BMX Biking will all be a part of the Centennial Camp’s closing show! The Special Events Sub-Committee for Centennial Camp is putting together a great show that will include a celebration of Scouting’s history and future along with great performers that will be exciting for Scouts, families, and people in the community.
National recording artist Danny Gokey is a rising country music star that has had success on the charts. Some may have seen him perform at Country Stampede in Manhattan this year. Jennette McCurdy is a popular teen actress on one of the hottest cable shows for kids. She will be releasing an album in October, and we will be one of the first venues to see her perform. A third act, yet to be announced, will open before McCurdy and Gokey.
[...]
We thank Y93.7FM who has agreed to become the media sponsor for the closing show. [...]

Wow, Kenny, you’re my new favorite photographer! Amazing shots!
Dude threw it down, and handed me plenty of rock star like poses on a silver platter, great energy, and a vocal presence that the Milwaukee native is the real deal. Photo’s after the jump.
