According to promo videos (below) posted by theofficial700club, Danny will be performing his new song “Love Again” in addition to talking about Sophia’s Heart and his career.

American Idol finalist Danny Gokey joins Interactive to share about his experiences in the music industry and perform his latest single “Love Again.”

This former American Idol finalist shares his story of faith and how he dealt with the unexpected death of his young wife.

Danny is expected to speak and sing one or two songs.

More than 41,000 people were expected to attend the sold-out prayer event, billed by the Texas mega-preacher’s ministry as an “inspirational night of hope, worship and encouragement.”

Each year the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon attracts approximately 30,000 runners to compete in Nashville and raise funds for charity.  This year Sophia’s Heart and Danny Gokey threw a pre-race party to cheer on it’s first ever SHF running team and the pre-release of Danny’s new EP “Love Again”.

Iheartdannygokey.com regulars of Pam, Michelle, Asics, Milgokey, and Steph joined Danny Gokey and few other teams to raise funds for Sophia’s Heart.

Things kicked off with a carb loading meal of lasagna, spaghetti, bread and cookies to fuel the runners and Danny’s fans.  (Oh, and tossed salad, LOL.)

Next came the anxiously awaited unveiling of Danny’s new EP “Love Again” and an acoustic concert by Danny, Jamelle and Brandon Fraley and Matt Reviere.  Two brand new songs were unveiled: the title track, “Love Again” and “Everything Works Together”.  Danny introduced each song on the EP, performed a few of them live and added some fan favorites to a well received concert set.  Fan favorites of  CNT, Win Me Over, PYT (complete with audience accompaniment of “PYT and TLC” at the right times), and “You are So Beautiful” as well as a Danny (and my) favorite cover of LeAnn Rhimes’ “I Need You”. A special guest at the event was Danny and Leyicet’s puppy, Sweet Pea. But true to cat mystic, Mr. Wigglesworth kept his aloof reputation and did not make an appearance for Danny’s fans.

Danny revealed that while he has left Mission Management, he is in discussions with a new management firm. He is very excited about it, he hopes to update us all soon, but if  it works out, a complete plan would soon be developed to land a new label and music projects.  He also explained that he tried to get the rights for “Win Me Over” from RCA, but he was not successful for this EP .

After the concert, Danny signed EPs, greeted fans, and posed for pictures.

Danny Gokey is Named a “Home Court Hero”

On Saturday, April 21^st, Sophia’s Heart founder and president, Danny Gokey was honored by the Milwaukee Bucks and KapCo Industries as their “Home Court Hero”.

KapCo and the Bucks honor an individual who, through their unique commitment and humanitarian spirit, have made exceptional and lasting contributions to the Milwaukee community.

Danny was selected for his dedication to Milwaukee for the establishment of Sophia’s Heart Foundation and its mission to mend and heal the hearts of children and families touched by poverty, sickness, disease, broken home and broken dreams. The Sophia’s Heart Choir and Dance Team joined Danny at center court for the reading of the award and Danny’s acceptance remarks. Danny thanked the Milwaukee community for their support, expressed his love for these special youth, and thanked the SHF volunteers for their time and energetic in support of Sophia’s Heart.

An added bonus was the performance of the Milwaukee based SHF Choir and Dance team in the East Lobby for an hour prior to the game.

Ed, my sister, brother and law, and I were fortunate to watch the kids perform their high energy show prior to the game.  We perched on the stair way to the second level to the Bradley Center.  Of course, Ed wandered off.  And wouldn’t you know it,  as I was speaking to the hardworking choir staff, Jeff, Laura and Katie, in walks Danny.  He  posed for pictures with some cheerleaders, various fans and he spoke briefly with the choir. But the Bradley Center was not comfortable with Danny being generally “loose” among the crowd. So he was whisked away—but not before Danny came side to side with Ed.  A quick greeting and man hug ensued and Danny was off to the KapCo private suite.

And Ed’s power as a Danny magnet continues.

Milwaukee native and Season 8 “American Idol” alum Danny Gokey isn’t letting his November split with label RCA Nashville prevent him from releasing new music.

In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to talk about friend and “The Voice” contender Jamar Rogers (look for the story in the JS and on Tap Milwaukee soon), Gokey, 31, confirmed he plans to self-release a yet-to-be-titled six-or-seven song EP in late April, around the time he’ll speak at Joel and Victoria Osteen’s “America’s Night of Hope” at Nationals Park in Washington.

“It’s an experimental project to see what the fans like,” Gokey said of the EP. “There’ll be country on it, but there’ll be different styles on it. There’ll be contemporary, and maybe a pop song.”

The GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION (GMA) announced the first of its lineup that will appear and perform at the 43rd annual GMA DOVE AWARDS.  Artists include LECRAE, NATALIE GRANT, DONNIE McCLURKIN, JASON CRABB, JAMIE GRACE, KIM BURRELL, KARI JOBE, DANNY GOKEY, RUBEN STUDDARD, MANDISA, JASON CASTRO and THE ISAACS.  Additional performers to be revealed as the show date approaches.

GMA also announced that DAVID MANN and CHONDA PIERCE will serve as co-hosts for the show.  MANN is best known for creating the famous comic character “LEROY S. BROWN” in TYLER PERRY’s popular “MEET THE BROWNS” television series.  Daytime EMMY nominated comedienne CHONDA PIERCE starred in her own live national television special “THIS AIN’T PRETTYVILLE” on CMT.  Her comedy is also regularly featured on SIRIUSXM Satellite Radio.

The GMA DOVE AWARDS will take place on APRIL 19th at the FOX THEATRE in ATLANTA.  The awards ceremony will be nationally televised on GOSPEL MUSIC CHANNEL (GMC) on APRIL 24th at 8p (ET).

(Updated March 6, 2012)  Sophia’s Heart Foundation has announced its upcoming “Run for Compassion,” raising funds for the Compassion Nashville project in connection with April 28th’s Nashville marathon. A kickoff event will be held the prior evening, featuring an appearance by Danny Gokey.

Only in Nashville would a local church’s Christmas production involve a big country star or two.  [..]

Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox and American Idol alum Danny Gokey (a member of Oasis Church) will both offer a song or two as part of the church’s Christmas shows. Some members of the Nashville Symphony will be playing as well.

There will be two presentations, at 6 and 8 p.m. today, of Light — An Oasis Christmas Experience. A third showing happens at the church at 6 p.m. Friday.
