I wrote the following on my personal blog while watching his audition:

Danny, Jamar’s best friend – oh gosh, i love him.  great look, great story, great voice.  oh, he’s one of my favorites so far.  and i just typed that about 3 notes in to his audition.  glad to hear the judges agree.  just for the record, i cried when he dedicated it to his wife.

And that’s basically why I’m doing this.  He’s good and I’ve known it since the first time I heard him.

I’ve been an American Idol fan since the beginning. I don’t think I’ve ever missed an episode.  My favorite Idols are Carrie, Daughtry and David Cook.  I’ve seen Daughtry in concert three times.  I was able to go backstage and meet all of Season 7 contestants except for David . He was sick that night.  Needless to say, I’m a devoted fan and my pick for this year is Danny Gokey!

I would still record my own music and mix my music with my foundation to help people.
