Hi Pam, I’m sorry for the late response, it seems I always miss-out your comment (maybe it is the time zone). Anyway, I am not sure about CMT. I think the videos they show “reside” in the CMT server not in Youtube(that’s why we International fans can’t view it).

Morning Hearties!
Since I’ve got nothing on the radio front this morning, I thought we should have a little fun.
As Danny prepares to name the rest of his solo tour dates (someday

, lets put our heads together and come up with a name for it. This of course is nothing official but just something for the fans to refer to when talking about th group of shows, for example when Clay Aiken went out he never had names for his tours so one of then became the NAT (not a tour).
So put on your thinking caps and on Friday the best one maybe will become the Ihrt moniker.
As always I will gift a copy of any of Danny’s songs to the winner. If there is enough interest maybe in different categories.

Tulipgirl42 unfortunately the Iphone does not allow Flashplayer and there is no alternative. This has been one of my bones of contention with Apple for a long time. Apple refuses to make a deal with Adobe, so in any site that uses Flashplayer the voting and videos won’t work. Very frustrating
I can’t listen to any radio stations live or watch videos on those stations! Of course, I never would have missed that function until I became a Danny fan and now feel the need to be connected with Dannyland at all times!

Tulipgirl42 Melinda Doolittle was my favorite of her Idol Season. She was a backup singer who always underestimated herself and had a hard time accepting compliments from the judges. tulipgirl YouTube videos are shown on the IPhone because of an HTML5 conversion. There are a number of sites – often local radio stations and tv stations, as well as sites with interactive games that use Flashplayer for all their videos and those you cannot watch on IPhone. I guess there is a way to convert those videos somehow to HTML5, but it is complicated. There are a number of times here on IHeart that videos are posted and I cannot watch them, mostly those that come from links to radio stations.

For those who have never heard her show, most of the dedications are heartwarming stories of love and love lost. IWNSG is the perfect song to request.
Melinda Doolittle was also one of my favorites. Biggest upset was when she lost to Jordin Sparks. But unfortunately at the time 19 thought Melinda was too old and Jordin was more marketable to younger audiences.
In as far as the tour name, My Best Days would be the logical choice. Plus side, is that he will help tie in with album sales.
But I would also love to see something that is fun and upbeat, a name that will leave people guessing and that will draw in new fans.

Speaking only for myself, I think it’s counterproductive and risks irritating the country world. It’s way too early in Danny’s career for him to be performing at the CMAs. Presenting, maybe. I heard that Laura Bell Bundy performed at the ACMs (so I think getting Danny on the next ACMs might be feasible), but the CMAs are not the ACMs. The whole “go slow” approach has been about Danny “paying his dues” and working his way up the country ladder.

My best friend stopped watching AI after Melinda didn’t win. Unfortunately, she missed Danny, so I did give her a CD. Tried to get her to go Prospectors, but she has a wedding that day. Hopefully, the next time around she can make it.
Think Melinda is a great singer, but Jordin has a good voice also. I do think the younger contestants have the advantage on AI.

I’m sitting in the airport and thought I’d check on all of you.
Pam, your slogan is more PC –but I still kind of like the visual of Danny blowing the doors off country music’s way of doing things. We may not want to say it on a T-shirt, but its how I think of him!
ATTENTION DANNY’S TEAM: I know they may not be reading this but in case Mission Management or someone from the band occasionally checks in here, I’d like to float and idea or two. BTW I know its presumptous for me to think they don’t already have better ideas in the works, but here goes:
1. We do need a Tour name and the press release announcing the 36 city tour. My only guess on why its not announced is that they may be working with local country radio stations as co-promoters of the tour and we all know how last minute they seem to be on show dates and how they like to make the announcements.
2. Walking the Red carpet: It will make more of a splash this year if there is a very pretty young lady on Danny’s arm this time. It will show that he’s moving on and it will garner more attention. It will almost be a story in itself. Its sure to make Country Weekly and maybe even People’s Country edition. If he doesn’t have a personal friend right now, someone in the industry: singer, writer, radio personality would work great. But someone not bigger than Danny…Maybe a cutie like Mallory Hope or ????

My creativity isn’t working this working today so much but I discovered super glue works wonders for holding cracks together. So far my laptop hasn’t gotten worse. I also like all of them mentioned so far TNT, My Best Days because it’s his cd title and He’s so darn cute tour.
I’m glad Danny’s not performing at the CMA’s. See LBB posts yesterday about her song peaking at #48 and going downhill from there since her performance. She really went backwards since. For him taking someone I would rather him take his true love but since she’s gone I would rather him take someone when he’s ready too and not beforehand. Family or friend would do wonders in the meantime just based strictly on friendship.
I think it’s hard to tell on things will go in the beginning it takes time to know for sure if they are really compatible for you and the right person. If you realize it in the beginning that’s good for you but there’s divorce, people don’t married thinking they’ll get divorced but it happens anyways. Gokeyguy you can’t always control on who you fall in love with. This isn’t the same thing at all but abusive relationships the movie the Burning Bed aren’t good women stick around in situations like that. This isn’t Danny at all no way this is the opposite of him but it’s just not so easy to get away from someone who’s bad for you because you “love” them and they “love” you. There’s women shelters available for a reason. This is just an example of falling in love with someone you really don’t have control over. I honestly feel bad for women that have to go through this.

Wow, I think I stirred things up more than I intended with my red carpet suggestion.
I was never suggesting that he “pretend” to date someone. I was thinking that it would be more fun for him to have someone at his side than going solo again. And why not someone from the industry if he isn’t interested in taking a date? It is an industry event. I think Danny would sparkle with someone to share the event with–he’s such a social creature. And the publicity certainly would be a big plus. I think it would show off his fun side.
But obviously that’s up to Danny.

Kathy Danny did mention that the plan they were hoping for, for a winter tour didn’t work out. I am hoping that changes and they are exploring opportunities.
The 36 show tour is under way as we speak. I believe he only has about 15-18 more dates to add if my math is right.

I think that Danny might kind of attend awards by himself, and with maybe some people from the label/his management for a while. Until he starts dating again. He could end up maybe bringing a female friend or hanging out with a female friend at the different awards ceremony.
I know he wants to find love again, and I hope he’s successful with that. I can understand him not wanting to date a fan. He could still maybe end up with someone that knows has heard of him before, just not someone who was previously a big fan of his.
Usually when celebrities date people, they either date/marry other celebrities, or regular people, that aren’t really big time fans of theirs. I remember hearing somewhere that Danny mentioned he might want to date someone in the industry? If that’s true, I think that would be interesting.
It would be interesting and kind of cool if he dated another celebrity like another country singer. I do like hearing stories about when two celebrities like Tim McGraw/Faith Hill, and Keith Urban/Nicole Kidman marry and are happy with each other. Maybe that might be Danny with someone else some day.

I don’t know if Danny would take a casual date to a high-visibility event like an awards show, or not. If I had to guess I’d say not. My guess is that his dating life would be as private as possible and that he would just as soon not have a lot of buzz about it (it that’s even possible) until he has made a decision. I’m sure he’ll choose a wonderful person but I’d actually be surprised if it’s another performer. Could be of course, but it just seems like it would be easier if it was someone who had goals that are complementary to his, rather than also out there fighting it out on the road. But love doesn’t always choose the easy path, so we’ll just have to see. From a PR perspective I don’t think his being single is a disadvantage though. (I could never say it is a good thing on any level because of course we all wish that Sophia was still by his side). But I think the best thing for him will be to have a family of his own and that’s more important than what “image” is a better sell. I don’t know that it will actually make all that much difference, most fans have enough sense to know that he is not actually “available” whether he is single or not, and he has a lot of appeal as being the kind of guy who one would not expect to be a “player”, I think. I guess I could boil all that down to saying that on this matter, I think he should do what he wants when he wants to, and let the PR chips fall where they may.
Jan, it wouldn’t surprise me if you’re right that local stations wanting to do their own promo may be deferred to. Either way, I just hope things are in place to get the word out. It drives me crazy when I see people on twitter saying to Danny “oh I wish I had known you were going to be at such-and-such, I would have come”. Whatever combination of him tweeting about his upcoming schedule and press releases and ads they do, the word just needs to get out.
I’d love to see Danny and Melinda sing together sometime. She is my favorite AI female contestant. I just started watching in S8, but I went back and looked at performances of a lot of past contestants so I’d know who was being talked about, and I thought Melinda was wonderful.

I think that Danny will probably end up doing what he wants to do and what he’s most comfortable with. I also think that Danny can be really open sometimes. I think if he does fall in love again, he might be pretty excited about it and could talk about it some.
Though probably not at the level of like Tom Cruise when he fell in love with Katie Holmes, lol. Of course some people (including celebs) are more private about things like that, which is fine and definitely understandable.
He might date around some until he find someone that he’s ready to settle down with. But I think if he did end up dating more than one woman that he would be pretty respectful towards whichever women he dated. I definitely don’t think he would create a bad reputation for himself, like some celebs who date a lot of people do.
I think that he will probably attend the awards ceremonies with people from his label and management, (and maybe some friends) until he starts dating again.

I am a bit skeptical about the power of twitter. One can have a lot of followers, but that says nothing about how invested those followers are, or how likely they are to take suggested actions. So I am not certain how much difference it would make if Danny tweeted people to buy his single (whatever the current single is), as a lot of people here have suggested. Nevertheless, I agree that Danny should do this. Others artists do. Can’t hurt; might help.
I feel even more strongly, however, that Danny should tweet his upcoming events. Right now, he usually only tweets right before events. (And he should keep doing that.) But that is too late for people to make plans and get tickets. I think he should tweet about an event as soon as it is announced, or at least a few weeks in advance (when that is possible). Not everyone visits DGO, DG’s MySpace, or iheartDG. Tweeting might reach some of the people who don’t do that.
That is the real benefit of having a “formal” tour with a name and press release. It would be reported and the word would be more likely to get out to fans who aren’t connected (or are not as connected) to the Internet as we are. However, although Danny is touring, it seems like a more informal tour — not the type with a name & press release. I did sign the petition to show support, but I do agree with this.
It is too early, and he hasn’t paid his “dues” yet. Perhaps if he had a nomination it would be possible, but I agree it could end up causing resentment, kind of like what happened with Laura Bell Bundy- there was rumblings on how she didn’t deserve to perform at the ACMs. That is the last thing Danny needs.
Probably a moot point; I don’t think the petition would have any chance of influencing TPTB, even if thousands signed it. It is a sweet gesture though.

This discussion reminds me of Season 7 and David Cook. I remember back during season 7 when David Cook was dating people/started dating people. At one point he was rumored to be dating Lacey Schwimmer , who back then was a dancer on “So You Think You Can Dance”. (She’s on Dancing with The Stars” now).
He really didn’t say anything about that possible relationship, but his fans were wondering about it. But then he started really dating Kimberley Caldwell, one of the season 2 idols. He actually asked her out on live tv, (on the TV guide Channel).
That definitely caused some debate/drama among his fanbase. To the point to where people in his fanbase were fighting with each other. (Rowansmom is also a David Cook fan, so maybe she might remember when this was happening.)
The fans that were happy for him and Kim were fighting against the fans that didn’t like him dating Kim. Things got ugly between some members in his fanbase, There were definitely people that felt strong about David dating Kim and people that thought he was too good for her.
I hope that Danny does find someone that makes him happy, and I think if/when he does a lot of his fans will be happy for him. I don’t think that things for Danny won’t end up being like it was in the David Cook/Kim Caldwell situation was with some of David’s fans.
I don’t think it will, I think that Danny fans are overall a great, respectful fanbase who support him and want the best for him. And I think if he should find love again, we’ll be rooting for him. I think that David Cook has a pretty good fanbase as well, I just remember there being some fighting with some of them back when he was dating in season 7.

Hello! I was just going to lurk tonight and not post but I want to address the Danny dating issue.
FOGS–I remember all the drama among David Cook fans when he started dating Kim Caldwell. It was right after he won that he asked her out on TV, which came as a shock to his fans and made a number of them quite upset. Others were fully supportive. As for me, I like Kim (as a talk show host–she was an interviewer on TV Guide Channel) and I figured it was his own business but I didn’t think Kim seemed right for him. She wasn’t, they broke up around Christmas of 2008. Some of his fans got pretty crazy though, and a few even stopped being fans. I didn’t think it was a good idea for him to ask her out so publicly, I doubt he would do that now.
I don’t think that would happen with Danny. First of all, I don’t think he would ask her out in public–Danny has been in the business a while now and I think is more media savvy than that. Unlike the situation with David and Kim, I also think his fans would be more ready for it to happen, being that he hasn’t dated anyone since he came into he public eye and has discussed that he might do it soon. More tongues might wag if he dates a well known celebrity, but somehow I have a feeling he would date someone who is less famous than himself even if she’s a fellow entertainer. I also think Danny would choose with more care, and only date someone he already knows he would be compatible with. Lastly, and no offense to DC’s fans, but from being part of both fanbases, Danny fans tend to be more levelheaded and less BSC than David’s fans and so Danny dating would not divide his fanbase.
I like the TNT tour or just the My Best Days tour (which makes sense to me as it promotes the album).

Well, here is my two cents. I believe that when a person is looking for it they never find love. I think love has to find them. It usually happens when least expected. I think that is the way it going to happen for Danny. I’m not sure it would be someone from his church, however she needs to have God in her life. I think (for what ever it is worth) that is what he is really looking for. A down to earth gal
that can keep him in check with his real feelings and not the ones that say, his label or managment would want him to portray. I hope we never lose that Danny. He has said it over and over, he is a chruch boy.

With WPOC going at any time they could’ve figured on how to get it by not voting so much in the beginning and voting towards the end the same with DC. So him being up at 40-60 percent might look deceiving if there’s not that many votes cast at all and KU fans could then get it up quickly. We’ve done this plenty of times.
My suggestion would be to vote if possible on these regardless of the percentages just to get votes in for him and ignore the numbers. It’ll make it harder for KU fans to take it over.

At least while IWNSG is on the chart, I feel very strongly about keeping Danny at #1 as long as possible. IWNSG was supposedly too sad. To the extent that the Gokey Nation exercises its muscle, I think stations may be more willing to give his next single a fair shake. They respond to numbers. And although multiple votes are allowed on polls and they are anything but scientific, keeping Danny at #1 as long as we have sends a message to country radio that Danny has a real fanbase.
Toby is #3, so I assume Danny is going to come up right now, as #2.

Mr. Bing, My daughter in law is a teacher and her most important and impressive student has been my son. She changed him from a fraternity party guy to a responsible husband and father. Cherie, I don’t mean the actual building when I say church. I mean the type of church he attends. What he believes in. Don’t want to use the word religion, but it comes close. He is so connected to his belief in God and don’t think he would do well with someone who does not believe what he does.
If I were young and dating, I would think Danny was very cute and sexy. However, I would not date him. I am not into doing the church thing every Sunday or making that the center of my life. My core beliefs are probably too liberal for him. You need some common ground to make your marriage work. As we all know it is not easy.

Hi! I signed the twtition for Danny to perform on the CMA’s. I can understand how it might be too soon, but my thinking is that Danny could perform the tribute song (IWNSG) to the people in the industry who have passed over the past year. Most of the tribute songs are done kind of quietly with the singer walking on stage to subdued applause and at the end the applause is for those who are being honored rather than the performer singing the song. I done think anyone would be critical of Danny for singing a tribute song. It probably is the only way he could perform on the award show this soon.
About Danny dating. I agree that usually love just happens unexpectedly and it is likely to happen to Danny in that way as well. I do wonder how public Danny would be about it. I
suspect the way his fans would figure out that Danny is dating is that he would be quieter on Twitter and less demonstrative at m&g’s and perhaps less flirty on stage. Danny seems like the kind of guy that would show the utmost respect to his girlfriend or wife, which would mean
having little contact with other women, no matter how innocent that contact was. He has said more than once to the married ladies while singing CNT on stage “I’m not trying to get all upin your business” or something to that effect – very careful to point out that he was not singing to the married ladies. He seems like a traditional kind of guy who would not want his girlfriend or others to think he is flirting.

Gokey guy Danny’s tour will be in clubs/indoor venues – probably around 1000 capacity. Even much bigger country stars don’t play in arenas unless they open for someone else really big.

Gokeyguy, being invited to perform at the Opry is different than being inducted into the Opry. You need a certain level of success in country music to be inducted. And I think there are other parameters as well. Not all country stars want to join the Opry, either, because you have to make a commitment to perform a certain numbers of shows, etc. For now, being invited to perform at the Opry is a sufficient indicator of acceptance for Danny. I don’t know whether he’ll ever be inducted, but if so, it won’t happen for a while.

Hi everyone, enjoy reading about the banter of the next single. Don’t know for sure, but I have a feeling it’s LOY. I saw it listed a few weeks ago on my hometown country station along with MBD, and IWNSG. It wasn’t my first choice but as you all have said, it grows on you.
GA was my first choice, however, I can see RCA/Sonys’ reasoning; very down home, very country sounding.
