Danip, when you mention Danny dropping spins, are you saying that those stations are decreasing overall? (They were at 8, then dropped to 7, then 6, then 5… )
Or more that they are varying within a range (sometimes it shows 7, then 6, then 7, maybe 8…. ).
Noticed in that callout report, although he moved down one in the ranking his score is actually higher than the previous time.

ETA: looked it up – someone described himself as ” Sound Engineer. Front of House, Monitor Engineer or Production Manager for concert, festival, tour and industrial event ” so FOH is “front of house”…
I didn’t realize until seeing him tweeting a while ago (@DBV) , but apparently they have a sound engineer who travels with the band at least some of the time. He doesn’t seem to be the same person shown in the NJ pics though, who the photographer names as Brian.
That must be a full bus! Danny, and then Ivan, Mike, Matt, Kyle, Brandon, sometimes Jamie, the merch guy, any management rep, apparently sometimes a sound engineer … plus bus driver and then maybe the dog.

It’s good to see that Danny’s performance at Wynonna’s event is being noticed. This kind of press coverage is very good for him and it won’t hurt to have more of the major stars in country music supporting Danny and noticing his awesome talent and how hard he is working.

Glad to see MJ posted the Wynona press release; I sent it late last night (as did some others probably too
). I would have been disillusioned if such an awesome press release wasn’t posted. I already commented on it there.
Sometimes I wonder how many Danny fans lurk out in cyber space but just don’t speak up. I read a S9 review by Mozart4898 from Toledo (because they are a Crystal/Casey fan like I am casually. They gave some info about themself- 30 yr. old single male chef with music degree and their favorite Idols over the years; “Clay, Carrie, Daughtry, Danny
, and to a lesser extent Kelly and Adam”. Yet they have never posted about Danny. I just found that interesting.
I wonder if the “exciting news” is just that she is interviewing him? Or some exciting (exiting
) news he will give in the interview. Of course we hope for the latter, now that the Sugarland tour is ended, I think we are all desperate for some Danny news.

Thanks for the you tube link Erika. Danny was sounding and looking awesome, as usual. I am having trouble with the very end of the video though. It seems to stop at the 3:52 point. Is anyone else having that same problem or is it just me?
Hannele and Pam, I know what you mean about being busy. I was busy last week and preoccupied so I couldn’t spend as much time with the voting on the polls, but I always made time to vote on the GAC and the CMT Pure. I did a lot of requesting yesterday. I even went back and requested on the orange block of stations that Erika put up later on in the day.
I’m so proud of Danny’s chart rankings right now. I’m sure the label is happy with the steady climb of IWNSG. Looking forward to when IWNSG gets into the 20′s and then teens.
GokeyGuy, I agree, I think with the success of Danny’s album and singles that Danny should be nominated for an award. But those guys just don’t listen to us.

I noticed on Pulse that IWNSGB is down a little -.025 on Billboard today. Probably just a blip but wouldn’t hurt to ensure you are requesting from the stations on the Billboard panel which are mostly the same as mediabase except for the ones highlighted by Josie in orange. Unfortunately it isn’t only mediabase we have to ensure is up in spins/points but we have to make sure IWNSGB is up in audience on Billboard since they go primarily by audience.
I am on vacation and took a beautiful long walk on the beach this morning – absolutely breathtaking. I’m on my break from the pool now so will do some requesting on mediabase before i go back out.
No problems with the CMA nominees. Those nominated for new artist have paid their dues (except maybe for Easton but he is doing very well with a #1 song which was also nominated and top selling new artist so far). Jerrod had a previous single and album that didn’t do much and Chris Young is on 2d album also and Luke also around for a while and Zac Brown Band, one of my favorites so no heartburn. Seems like Danny has plenty of time for a possible nomination in the future – we just have to help him get a top 10 hit, preferably #1.

I guess you have a big window of opportunity in getting nominated. They put Jerrod on because he hit #1, although the song doesn’t sound country to me. Country singers seem to use so many songs off their first albums maybe that qualifies you for being new for a long period of time. My money in on ZBB. Don’t like their look, but Zac does sound like James Taylor to me when I hear him on the radio. I am breathing a sigh of relief that LBB is not on this list. There would be a lot of

On a completley unbiased statement I believe Danny deserved that New Artist nomination over Jerrod. Jerrod released his album last month! He’s way too new to be considered for the award!

So the DJ says, he can play IWNSG. He plays our conversation on the air. Then he plays Clay Walker’s “She Won’t Be Lonely Long!” WT?

Steph in answer to your question..the losses of spins are showing nothing to signify there is a problem, he just seems to be stuck and unable to gain any traction. That was the basis of my statement, he saw very nice gains with a couple of stations that would have helped propel him forward and then the other stations seem to drop the same amout of spins.
It also wasn’t too unexpected that Danny might drop a bit on the Callout Survey as the song isn’t getting the spins of the higher ranking songs. I was glad to see that some of the negatives moved to at least neutral
The Best New Artists noms didn’t contain many surprises and I believe it’s ZBB to lose (since the won the Grammy this year for BNA) plus they have 2 songs on the chart right now. Jerrod was a bit of a surprise because he has one hit – but it happened a an opportune time as the vote went out. there seems to be so radio that is questioning Lukes inclusion and WDSY posted a blub in which they called the CMA for an explanation…

Only new artist nominee I was puzzled over (after looking each one’s bio up as I am new to country artists) was Jerrod Neimann. Wonder if the fact that he has written some hit songs played into it, as it doesn’t seem he has done much to earn it, other than the current hit he has out?
It does seem too early in Danny’s career to be up for anything yet. Apparently you can be eligible for quite a while for “new” artist consideration so he has lots of time.

I see what you mean about the WMZQ, Ellen. I’m voting and voting and the numbers are going down. When you first mentioned it I started voting and the numbers were around 36% but now it’s around 34% and I’ve still been voting. What’s the deal with that?
VickieCarol, it will go down from time to time depending on how many other people are on line voting for other artists. But when it goes down consistently, that usually is a sign that someone else’s fanbase has mobilized. I’d like to see at least a 5-point spread. There are 2 more hours to go, so I think WMZQ bears careful watching.

. As usual, it has been a busy tuesday for me and I see a lot of other ihearts must be busy also. I have been getting my daughter ready for school. Today, we had to get her textbooks. Unfortuately, I don’t get to spend a lot of time during the week to spend on danny lately. But, in the early morning I try and do my voting and sometime in the evening do some requesting. I’m back to do some voting. Was here earlier, but left to visit my mom. My son and his wife were here for dinner. It is very quiet on this site for some reason.
I mentioned this yesterday, just in case anyone missed it, Danny is at Prospectors in Mt. Laurel, NJ on Sat., Oct. 16th. It is within 30 minutes of Philadelphia. If anyone is interested in going you are welcome to stay at my house in Philly. I plan on going. Two of my girlfriends have weddings that day, still waiting to hear from two more.

I’m not too worried over the awards.
For the ACMs, the awards are split up I think? Luke won for best new male artist if I’m remembering right. So that could be easier with several male nominees, especially if Danny does well with IWNSG.

Kathy, if I go to the Prospector date I’m not sure if I would need to stay overnight or not. If Danny came on at a reasonable time (~9ish for example), I could just drive back home.
Some of those country bars though, he doesn’t come on until as late as 11 pm, which would not be good for driving back home to say the least…
Right now, I think it looks pretty good that I can make the Allentown date. If anyone else is interested at the last minute, I do have an extra ticket.

I am not a Jerrod fan by any means and didn’t care for Lover Lover but I am reading that a few here think he is undeserving of the new artist award so thought I would give you a little background that might change your mind. Jerrod had two previous independent albums and has been around since 2001 so he has definately paid his dues. He also wrote hits songs for Garth Brooks. When he signed to Arista he had a complete album already done and wrote the majority of the songs on the album with the exception of Lover Lover. He had one chart hit from his independent album and made the rounds to country radio in the past so they already know him. To read what Milgokey wrote regarding the rules for CMA new artist I can possibly see how he was nominated because he had tremendous growth over the last year. His single Lover Lover has already gone Gold.
I knew Danny made the top 10 list for the ICM’s which was later trimmed down to 5 but hadn’t heard whether Danny was considered part of the top 10 for the new artist. If that is the case, then there is a chance for him to get nominated in the future.

I’d love to go to Prospectors on 10/16—in fact its smack dab in the middle of my Gokey concert drought. But just last weekend I booked my 4th annual mother/son Green Bay Packer Game for 10/17! This also means that Danny will not be singing the National Anthem at my Packer Game. Double dratts! (The Packer’s home games are sold out to Season Ticket Holders.)
Joe and I always have a great time together at our Packer’s game. I raised a die hard Packer fan. Another reason to love Danny–his love of the Pack!

I think during the day we have the bean counters, nothing wrong with that, we need bean counters.

Allentown definitely almost 24 hours for me. Just because PA is so long and you can get motion sickless easily. Kentucky about 10 for me going in that direction is near Cleveland but I’m a slow driver, very slow. I can wake up in the morning and be to Pittsburgh area by night fall.

Erika, Jan probably would know better, but I think it was the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl. I think the temperature was below zero and you could see everyone’s breath on the field. Horrible playing conditions. Probably one of the reasons they moved the Super Bowl to a domed stadium or warm weather locale. I am sure Jan would know who won. I think it was GB, but not sure. It is a historic game in football. Another would be the Immaculate Reception that Franco Harris (a Penn Stater)made to help Pittsburgh win against, I think, Oakland in the Super Bowl. The ball bounced off many people never hitting the ground and Franco ran in for a TD. Probably could just google all this stuff.

Cherie, I called the station back. The played my call, used my name on air, but never played the song. So I called back using that as an excuse — that maybe they misunderstood and played the wrong song. (Although I’m too cynical to believe that any more.) The guy (who I think is the music director) explained that some days they get more requests than others, and that today they had a long queue. But then they continued to ask listeners to call in more requests! Even though they hadn’t played earlier requests!
I’ve pretty much had it with country radio! Think I need to go back to smooth jazz and forget about everything. I hate the hypocrisy. I think maybe the music director just doesn’t like to play Danny’s music. The one time a different DJ played MBDAAOM for my sister’s birthday, he acted like he was going against the rules to do so.
I just can’t take this any more. Maybe I was the only one who requested Danny and the other songs had multiple requests. But if you never play the song, no one is going to request it. What am I, chopped liver? I listen to KUPL a lot, including to their advertisers. And I buy country music. And yet they still can’t either play the song or be honest and admit that they won’t. (Probably because they don’t have a good excuse for not playing it. After all, a listener cared enough to call to request it!)

Erika, the frozen tundra can pretty much apply to all of Wisconsin in the Winter, but its a special term of endearment for field where the Green Bay Packers play football: Lambeau Field in “beautiful” Green Bay, WI.
Regarding the Ice Bowl: My family was not at the stadium, but we were glued to the TV! My whole family are huge fans, but of particular note is my 82 year old mother. She’s the family expert. (I think loving the Packers is genetic….)

Kim, got a Rascal Flatts question for you. Did they ever play a song that sounded especially rock-ish? I always hear about people complaining that Rascal Flatts is not country enough, but they sound plenty country enough to me. But I heard this song on the radio once, and I actually checked my radio dial because I thought I had accidentally turned on a rock station. Can’t remember the refrain, but I was shocked when I heard them announce Rascal Flatts. If it was them, I’m thinking it was an early song, when they were first starting out.

Maybe when he does the British Columbia show and they see him in action it will change their minds. It probably helped with WXTU seeing Danny at Clementon. Have you to talked to the station owner at all seriously there’s probably someone above him even if it’s his call. I’m sorry that happened but I know they’re not always honest. I’m been told everything including we are really trying which got a strange reaction from me. As his single grows and they get more requests for it that’s what could get it to change. There’s some that really don’t get going until top 30 top 20 until then it’s out of luck. Cherie, I would have never thought that Kentucky was so much closer than PA. PA is a very big state, so I guess there are many miles to cover. I am a fast driver, you can be doing 80 mph here in a 65 mph zone and people are tailgaiting you to get out of the way. Think it leaves you no choice, usually someone driving too slow here makes it more dangerous on our expressways.
I don’t know if Jan experienced this in upstate New York. Those drivers are crazy. They weave in and out on a dime. Scared the heck out of me. Warned my sisinlaw who was an hour behind us. She couldn’t believe how dangerously they drive.
Well I have never been to Milwaukee or Nashville. I guess I am going to have to make a trip soon when Danny is performing.
I think the grandbaby will be here soon. My daughter in law was in pain tonight from the baby pushing his/her legs into her constantly. My son had to hold the baby’s leg down with his hand against her tummy so she could get some sleep last night.

Pam, My friends cannot handle tequila. The problem is they think they can. One time we had to put a trash bag over someone’s head with a hole cut in it and line the floor of the car with the trash bags too and give her one to hold
. This was after a long time kneeling at the porcelain god. There is a comedian, Jim Brewer, who has a monologue about drinking tequila. 
Very funny, it should be on you tube if you get a chance. You probably need a lot of tequila with those Wisconsin winters. Maybe you built up an immunity.

It seems to me it is easier to jump the line as a female country performer than a male country perform. Probably because males run the industry predominately. Probably don’t care about the female egos. Men!!!!
Danny has some potential hits on his current album and he is getting the chance to make another album. That is real progress. I do think being on AI helps and hurts him. He just has to listen to his management team, they will get him there, by using the right road that doesn’t get anyone
I was really impressed that he was the only singer at Wynonna’s event. They know how Danny’s voice will impact the crowd.
There is no point to doing the mediabase forms for KUPL. Nothing is going to change. They are not going to play him.

Kathy – maybe it depends, cuz country music has a diverse fans ever, I mean, maybe tweenies like pop”ish” country stars and a big percentage of fans like traditional country stars like well established ones though. So Danny falls on between those types of fans… having a second album is very very possible and i agree, danny needs to listen first to his management, if time allows and he learns everything that needs to know on Country music, he can also put his plans, inputs to it for the better of the projects ahead

The weird thing I’ve driven in NYC city a few times and survived. I attract speeding tickets so to save myself some money I decide to drive the speed limit. I got one this year already and I don’t speed compare to others.

Ellen there is point to it even if it doesn’t look like it or is slow in the process. Baised only gets them so far. Sometimes it does help to have other people try that it works better as a team effort instead of an individual one.
Example two of us could do the same thing and get to different responses and results. It just really takes a long time. There’s probably hundreds of requests for Chicago and haven’t gotten one spin lately outside of the countdown. But they’ll still play it in time it’s just really hard for some of them and takes time. It’s not a time waste even if it looks and feels like it. If there’s no demand at all then they won’t we just have to show them that there is.

About the stations that haven’t added him yet they’ve all being getting requests since day one it’s not not noone hasn’t been doing it. It’s hard to get their attention sometimes but they’ll add it in time.
I got sidetracked earlier, but Kat, the DJ on WMZQ D.C. said this when announcing the #1 song: “Keith Urban fans, you almost got him to the top spot tonight.” From that, as well as other occasions when Kat has mentioned the vote spread, I have concluded that the percentage point spreads don’t reflect a lot of votes, i.e., a 5-point spread sounds like Danny is ahead by a lot of votes, but I don’t think that generally is the case. So I think we need to watch it.

Kathy, you probably are right about tequila. I really haven’t done shots since undergrad in Duluth when in the middle of winter (and believe me only Alaska or parts of Canada are colder than Duluth, MN) we all wound up climbing trees outside.
No porcelain god though
