GoodMorning ! Have a great time at the Rockton concert to all that are going. Very happy to know that Steph and Erika will also meet for the first time. Erika I realize your trip has come to an end but this day will be even greater than Summerfest , have fun at the interview don’t be speechless and bring an extra battery for the camera I remember you saying they don’t last very long. Having Pam there will make it easier too . Lol! If it wasn’t for work I would hop on a plane and come too but there are certain times that it’s just not possible to do that. Can’t wait to hear all the details. Enjoy the tour of Chicago with Jan also. I will be thinking of you. I did not submit a question just let him know how much he is loved and how much support he has from ihearties but I think he already knows that. Danip Thank you for the info with the radio stations. I am saddened that my local radio station still has not added IWNSG but I did finally get thru on the phone with them and I asked if they could play it, the announcer did not know of the song but said that if I wanted it played I would need to contact the artist mgmt (??). The last single of MBD they started playing it pretty early on. I did submit the mediabase form. Should I keep sending one daily.

IWNSGB is looking good on the charts. I noticed that Houston is on the taking off chart and have played it 9 times this week. Thrilled to see those Texas stations coming on board. I believe they one of the bigger markets and haven’t added Danny yet. Danip/Cherie, do you think they will be an auto add?

Glad Danny is moving up. This weekend it will be interesting to see who goes recurrent. Gretchen Wilson seems likely any time now, and Bucky C. has been sliding though by much smaller margin. Jason Aldean at the top of the chart has been dropping for a couple of weeks but I’m not sure if that is still the rule. And, if there is any justice, Pray for You should meet its fate sometime soon. Sorry to see today that Gary Allan and David Nail though are stuck in the low 20s in negative numbers. I like both of their songs, especially David’s.
If Danny can keep moving up and a few more people drop out, maybe he can get near the top 40 by next week.

As far as the story from Hazel about Danny’s family. I hope it was just taken out of context and not a normal experience–like the Dad didn’t know how much was still on the stove when he asked for more, etc. Although, it still seems more than odd to feed the father before the rest of the family. Food was never an issue when I was growing up on a real WI farm. Fashionable clothes? Oh yeah….

Everyone going to Rockton tonight: Have a blast!!!! I’m sad I am still under the weather and can’t go, but am so glad Danny will have lots of support from the Ihearties. Can’t wait to see/read Erika’s interview and all the recaps!
About Danny’s Dad eating first and sometimes not leaving enough for the kids; that article was a recap of the show Hazel did with Danny. I remember him saying that his Dad was served dinner first and it really bothered me because it hit a nerve with me. My brother-in-law (who grew up in Milwaukee) came from a family of 6 kids and they had the exact same rule in their family. They had to wait until their father was served first and they could not start eating until their father had taken as much food as he wanted. My brother-in-law’s father was very strict and cruel in many ways. My brother-in-law to this day carries some emotional baggage from the way he was raised. I am not trying to equate Danny’s father with my Brother-in-law’s father, but it did trigger some negative thoughts for me. However, when Damny did that show with Hazel and said what he did, it did not come across quite as harshly as it sounds when you read it in the article.
Uh-oh…..looks like it’s pretty obvious I didn’t read the Hazel article in my new CW magazine yet! *hangs head in shame*….but was saving my magazine for this afternoon so I could sit down and enjoy it after my fitness walk.

Cheryl, I just can’t fathom the Dad-eats-first rule. I feel bad for your BIL, and I hope he doesn’t let that baggage prevent him from enjoying his life. I don’t think I’ve seen the video of Hazel with Danny, but even in the print article, the “rule” is described in a very matter-of-fact way. In a way, that makes it more chilling. But it also suggests that we don’t know the whole story and ought to reserve judgment, as Josie indicated in a post late last night. Still, gotta say I’m disturbed.
Gokeyguy, if Randy Montana was announced along with Little Big Town, then I think that you can safely assume that Danny is not going to open for Sugarland in VA. (There have been a handful of Sugarland concerts where Danny has not been the opener. Apparently, Randy Montana is going to do the opening in Danny’s place.) So you can go to the AI concert (and report back to us)! But keep in mind that Danny is supposed to have a fall tour, too, so maybe he will get to VA then!

Jan and other ihearties going to Rockton tonight -
My plans have changed slightly. I am going to get there later tonight than I had planned. My son took a fall at the grandparents’ house in Milwaukee and ended going to the ER. I was planning on not seeing him until tomorrow a.m. but I am now going to get him and spend time with him this afternoon and leave when my husband gets home from work. He is fine – just badly bruised after running and falling into a brick wall. Am I bad for still going tonight?
So…would someone mind saving me a seat? I am hoping to leave the north Chicago suburbs about 5:00ish – putting me there about 7:00ish depending on traffic.
I would REALLY appreciate it!!!!! Thank you!! I have thought about cancelling, but he is fine and that way I can spend the better part of the day with him still. I will bring my extra ticket, too.
Looks like Danny will be back in NC in October. NC State Fair FINALLY announced their lineup and Danny will be opening the fair.

Tracy, I think it is good that you will spend some time with your son. He needs some TLC. But I think it’s okay to still go to Rockton. You’ll be in a better position to make that call after you see your son. I’m sure one of the ihearties can save you a spot if you decide to go.
Gokeyguy, I’m not sure now about Eagleblast. If doesn’t sound like it is part of Sugarland’s The Incredible Machine Tour (TIMT). On the other hand, the same lineup (S., LBT, & DG) is scheduled for New Mexico and Alabama, but it’s not called the TIMT there either. (In NM it’s called Country Megaticket.) Then again, I really don’t know why they wouldn’t have announced Danny if he will be there. But you said more to be announced? Hmm. That is a tricky one!
Yeah – I am going to see how he is. It happened last night and I’ll see him soon. Crazy how life changes so fast. I was almost in the car ready to drive up, but was on the phone the entire time he was at the doctor. It’s just a bad scrape and it could have been so much worse. Just a reminder, today is the last day of voting for the week on CMT Pure 12 Pack, considering everything else going on it might need a little extra attention today if anyone has time. I am going to try to spend some extra time on it today.
About the dad eats first thing, I actually have heard about different families doing that. I think that it definitely was common for some families to do that in older times.
I think there are situations where it might be something that both parents decided to do, or in some cases the mom might suggest something like that.
Maybe for Danny’s family “dad eats first”, only means that Dad was served first, not that he got a lot more food than the rest of the family.
In some families it’s probably considered a sign of respect for the parents/elders to be served first. There are also some families that will feed the children first at different gatherings/events.

I’ll just throw in the comment that in my family, my mom would never serve dinner if my dad wasn’t seated. It was a sign of respect. So, with the way I was raised, I was more surprised by families that fed the kids before the father came home from work. I thought it odd that the family wouldn’t all eat together.

Josie, i’m joining you at spending extra time voting for Danny!
I know i’m from a younger generation but in my family the rule is to serve the oldest first (it doesn’t matter whether is the father or the mother the older one) and then the younger ones. Although my parents are not rigid about this rule I think my grandparents were, especially because they lived in the countryside.
Here is my two cents on the father eating first. Way back when when I was in high school (man that was long ago) I dated this guy and I was invited over to his family home for dinner and the Mom served all of us first and then waited until we were all done before she ate. I thought that was strange. And then again at my in-laws house my mother in-law always feed the kids first and then my father-in-law. Reason for that 4 boys and 1 girl and he wanted to eat in quite. I am with Jan we never would think of not all sitting down together.
Sheboygan and Wausau back to back hey we could follow the bus to Wausau. And I have vacation that next week. OOOOO this sounds like fun. How which one of my daughters would stay at my house and puppy sit??? Have fun everyone I am excited for you.

Josie, threw down some votes for WDEZ (Wausau, WI). Need to check on D.C., Baltimore, and Minneapolis. Also, a good reminder about CMT Country Pure-Pack, etc. We’re spread out voting on a gazillion things. Josie, perhaps you might want to tweet the WDEZ link?
Also, do we have people to follow up to see whether Danny’s song gets played on any of those four stations? D.C. is at 9 EST, Baltimore at 8 EST, Minneapolis at 8 CST, and Wausau, WI at 7 CST. I think I got them all. It might help to have the streaming links for all four. (D.C.’s is listed on Tuesday’s discussion page.) Also, some stations will have a list of songs played, so checking back to the time the results are supposed to be announced is another way to determine whether Danny’s song got played.

Hi! Well, I will be coming tonight – eventually! My little guy is OK – we’ve been hanging out and when my husband gets home I will hit the road. I’ll get there as soon as I can – probably closer to 8. You guys are the best. I so need a night out and some Danny – now that I know my little guy is OK and will be in the capable hands of his dad – he’ll be sleeping pretty much the entire time I’ll be gone anyway.
I just tweeted the the DC, Baltimore and Minneapolis contests for people to vote. IWNSGB was looking pretty good on the DC and Baltimore polls the last time I looked. The Minneapolis poll doesn’t show results so I don’t know how he will end up on that one. Does anyone know if the station in Wasau, WI is monitored. If it isn’t, it is fine to vote on for exposure but won’t do Danny any good for spins on the charts. I agree we should vote on all but concentrate on the biggest markets first to ensure he gets played. I will try and listen to Baltimore at 8PM. Won’t be able to listen to DC tonight but I’m sure he will make that one. Hope someone listens to the Minneapolis station tonight. I just got home from work – oh the things we do for Danny.

It’s not monitored and they’re small but it’s where there he has an upcoming concert and I don’t think the station was really playing him too much beforehand. So they could play his song more there and get more people to come out for his concert. But since they’re small I don’t think they’ll need that many votes.
I think it’s neat that we got this many already, we didn’t have one last week. It’s all good though and helps him in the long run.

When I was growing up Dad was served first, I have not seen the article yet but guessing that is what Danny meant. Suppose it could be viewed as strict us kids were told respect for who earns the money to put the food on the table. Then a women’s job was mostly in the home but that was then, many then’s ago. We really need the help in Milw, I wish we had unlimited voting on that one. We have one of the smallest play counts, going at super turtle speed. Way too slow. I know Milw wants to hear him I don’t know what happened to his local support.

I listened to Baltimore and Meg Stevens was sitting in for Justin Moore. I believe she is the program director for both Baltimore and DC. Anyway, the results were #5, Josh Turner, #4 Carrie, #3Toby Keith #2 DANNY and #1 Keith Urban of course. Meg said before and after Danny’s song that it was a very special song and also called it beautiful. Way to go Danny fans, he just got another spin tonight in Baltimore.

We have two going at 9 PM EST and 8 PM CST. DC and Minneapolis. I hope that someone will listen to Minneapolis because I have no idea how he will place there. I will try to listen to DC. I don’t know about the other stations but in DC and Baltimore when the song is played, on the screen you can rate it so please rate IWNSGB if you listen to either of those stations.

OMG Wausau is my hometown!!!! They never played MBDAAOM. Everytime I would go home I’d call the radio station and they never had it on their playlist!
I think that Danny was #5 at the Most Wanted in Minneapolis but I am not sure. I can’t listen right now because I have guests but I am looking at the screen and he was played at the beginning of the show if they started it at 8 CST. Hope someone can confirm.
Unlike WMZQ, I didn’t hear the DJ in Minneapolis announce the contest. But they played IWNSG only a few minutes after 8 CST. So I’m guessing that we got him on the “5 at 8″ in Minneapolis, though I’m not sure. The song that played before IWNSG was “Toes” by ZBB. Was “Toes” on the voting list?
Once Minneapolis puts their voting list back up, I’m going to check it out. If “Toes” is on the list, then I think IWNSG was #4. Otherwise, I think it was #5. But whatever, it got played!!!

She said, “The next song is an emotional song, pulling on the heartstrings.” She then mentioned Danny losing his wife Sophia, then cut to an interview where Danny is explaining the significance of IWNSG — that he never got to say goodbye to Sophia, and he doesn’t have to. (Nothing we haven’t heard before.) Then Kat added, “Songs like this will achieve that.”

LIZZY, I don’t know how to rate songs on the Minneapolis (or for that matter) D.C. stations. I tried to click where it shows the stars, but nothing happened.
Ellen B – As soon as they start playing the song – towards the bottom on the left are the stars. When I click on the stars I get a rating. I was able to rate his song with 5 stars of course on the Baltimore channel, on DC and on Minneapolis.
I didn’t realize he was on a Milwaukee contest also. That would be IWNSGB making all 5 contests and getting 5 spins, 4 monitored and one unmonitored. Can someone post the Milwaukee station link so I can add that one to my voting.

Lizzy Milw is the really complicated one that it’s one vote per person per day through there erewards program. So you have to be signed up with that to be able to vote but I’m glad he made it after trying for 2 days.

Wausau is really interesting, in a passive-aggressive way. Why would a radio station add a new song mid-way through the voting period, rather than adding it after one night’s contest is over and the new poll goes up? Methinks that Wausau was being a little P-A. Guess we surprised them — the late entry won, with 44% of the vote, to boot! YAY!

I’m still not sure whether the spin in Minneapolis was a straight spin or part of the contest. It was hard trying to listen to two stations at once. But based on the poll list for Friday, the song sequences don’t quite match up — unless they changed some of the songs on the list. All I know for sure is IWNSG played right after toes, and started a few minutes after 8:00. “Toes” might have started at 7:58 or 7:59 and continued for a minute or two into the 8 o’clock hour.
