Danip, I really appreciate you posting the stations that played II Will Not Say Goodbye. Baltimore and DC added the song but I see haven’t played it yet. Boxer at WMZQ in DC told me yesterday he would try to get it on but looks like he didn’t. Neither station has added the song to their playlist yet and they don’t like to break the rules as I am told but I keep.

Maybe he’ll have the highest debut although Miranda is suppose to be strong. Some of the stations have both songs on them and one station you will hear alot of MBD. So it doesn’t hurt to request both. We get all 3 songs played on Sunday.

I was curious and went to look at the posts about what country fans thought of him. They have 70k on that page and most are ok with him. One person that doesn’t like him posted a lot but otherwise most of the posts were positive. Those that liked him posted once. Those that don’t however are loud and really obxious and tend to repeat themselves. Not everyone can like him but I’m seeing country music really embracing him, country radio is a different thing and needs alot of more work. I do think this song will change things(game changer) and radio will be playing it more.

Got the last of the Hood strawberries from my favorite vendor. Missed part of the strawberry season while I was in PA. I ask again: Why would anyone who lives here want to be anywhere other than Oregon in the summer? Only my mania for all things Gokey could move me to take vacation outside of Oregon during the summer!

I definitely second that Ellen!! I just got back in from shopping and checked in here first of course….I must agree with you Ellen that only to see Danny (and family that doesn’t live here) could get me to leave this area this time of year because the weather is perfect! I am not from the Pacific NW originally, but I recognize a great thing when I see it and nothing could get me to live anywhere else. We are spoiled here that’s for sure!
I am a little worried about the all day wait in the heat at Summerfest to have a good spot to see Danny since I am not used to temperatures above about 75….but it will be worth it to be close for the concert

IWNSG they’re playing once a day which I don’t think will change this week, however with Summerfest they will play the other song up to twice a day. I’m not originally from the Pacific Northwest, either. Grew up in PA, then lived in MO. Took me 7 years to acclimate (somewhat) to the heat & humidity of MO. Took me 0 years to acclimate to OR! My friends around the country now refer to me as a “weather wimp!”

I definately concluded that the ONLY way for Danny’s sales to increase is for I Will Not Say Goodbye to be a hit on radio. As soon as MBDAAM went recurrent, his sales dropped and have pretty much stayed there with a little bump now and then from CMA festival and concerts.

I am happy to see IWNSGB getting more spins and it should be poised to debut on Billboard next week.
I think it is very important that we try and keep the buzz up about the song and the video. I have noticed on twitter that the buzz has slowed down some. I was thinking we should hit Crooks and Chase heavy this week asking them to play Danny’s I Will Not Say Goodbye as a bonus song and as their bound for countdown song, especially since they told me they picked it last week. If Danny can get extra spins from that show it could help him chart higher on Billboard next week.

I saw on youtube today that Danny is already at over 25,000 views. He seems to be getting more than 3000 a day. I know youtube is absolutely huge in getting his name out there also. I think that is bound to help him out in sales, or at least downloads. I was surprised to see Carrie got 50,000 downloads in one week! At least Danny will be playing summerfest, which is a very big music festival.

Keep streaming Danny’s I Will Not Say Goodbye video at CMT.com. You all are doing a great job. Danny’s video is at #9 and he got maximum rotation today on CMT music. They played his video 3 times today on TV. I have noticed that the most they play a video is 3 times a day. Before today, they were playing IWNSGB twice each day.
In that article on The Boot, Danny is quoted as saying, “Now, we’re finishing the [Sugarland] tour on August 5th, and we have a lot of spot dates coming up and we’re getting ready to put together a tour for the fall.” Hmm. Wonder if they’ll add more spot dates, in the fall if not the summer?

Ellen, I would think that they would continue to add spot dates. I keep thinking he will do a show out here, at some point. I’ve seen quite a few of the huge country acts come through Seattle or Tacoma, so there must be a reasonable market here. With two monitored country radio stations just in Seattle, I’d think so, but seeing those acts come through kind of confirms it. I imagine Danny will turn up here one of these days, hope so.

It may depend what kind of tour Danny winds up doing. If he’s touring with a major act and he will be opening for them every time (vs. Sugarland where it rotated, and they had the longer breaks than some acts use) he may be more tied up to do a lot of spot dates on his own.
There was some conversation a while ago about Jaron having a bit debut. According to Roughstock he only sold ~23K some CDs. Not all that many more than Josh Thompson really, and about half of what Easton did his first week, more like a third for Danny’s debut. Probably less or similar to LBB, I don’t remember her first week but it was higher than a lot of the others.

I read that article over at Roughstock and had to chuckle a bit about the embellishing needed to make that 24k seem like a huge opening. It seems he had to do alot of that with the debut albums this week.

I was unsure by the boot interview if putting together a fall tour meant a solo tour a touring with a bigger act. Anyone have any ideas? Asics & Ellen, I have never been to the Pacific Northwest. Maybe I will put that on my list of places to visit soon. Have some relatives in OR. Sometime you have to let me know what are the best places to visit. Also heard that Vancover is nice too.
Asics, I am a mosquito magnet, we always have plenty in Phila. because it gets very humid here and I live near the river. The thing that works for me is the OFF clip on. It looks like a little blue fan. You just attach it to your pocket, belt, etc and the spray inside the clip on keeps the bugs away. I like it because you don’t have to keep putting bug spray on your body. I wear when I walk my dog and I talk to my neighbors. They stand there constantly swatting their legs and arms to kill the mosquitos, but they stay away from me.
Also worked in the Grand Caymans, people had bug bites all over their legs, but not one for me.
Also, would love to go to Nashville sometime too, Maybe see Danny in a concert there. Not summertime though. I am always hot and I don’t mean that in a good way.

I hear you, Kathy, about always being hot! Do you know what part of Oregon your relative live in? Northwest, southwest, central, northeast, or southeast (unlikely; it’s a desert).
Some recommendations: Cannon Beach, Newport, or Yachats along the Pacific Coast; the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area (including Multomah Falls, 2nd highest year-round waterfall in US); Silver Falls State Park (lots of waterfalls, some of which are easy hikes or walks); Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood (get up close and personal with the mountain in a safe way); Crater Lake, deepest lake in US (if you are brave; the drive around the rim road scares me!); Lava Lands; winery tours in various parts of the state; city stuff in Portland, etc.

Danip, I agree. Once Danny puts out a second CD, he might move up to be the “middle act,” but he probably won’t be headlining (other than spot dates) until his third CD. At least if you look at other country acts, that seems to be one of the patterns.

Ellen, My husband’s cousin lives near the University of Oregon. Don’t know where that is located in OR. What you describe sounds beautiful. We love to hike and love the beach, so it sounds like the best of both worlds.
My husband is retiring in July so we may have some more time to travel, but my son and his wife are expecting a baby in September so that is probably going to put a little bit of a damper on the traveling. It is our first grandchild so right now that is the center of our world (Danny is a close second for me.) Actually, I know we all think Danny is so handsome, but considering that I am well into my 50′s I also see Danny as a son that I want to succeed. He took so much grief on AI, you just wanted to reach out to him and help him get his career started. He didn’t deserve all the meanness thrown at him and I think we all become protective. Plus, we all know that he is so talented.

If you like hiking then Mt. Rainier National Park is a must….you can take one of the day hikes and even in July end up in the snow! And the views are unbelievable!!
You would not regret a trip out to our beautiful region of the country! The best time of year is July-September as the rest of the year can be overcast and get all that rain we are so well known for

Kathy in Philly, your relative lives in or near Eugene, Oregon. It’s kind of in the center of the western part of the state. The state capitol is about an hour north of Eugene, and Portland is about two hours north of Eugene. Highway 126, which takes you from Eugene to Florence on the coast, is very scenic. Can’t stay depressed when driving on Hwy 126 — it’s that beautiful!
Okay, I will stop with the tourist stuff. But I’d love to see Danny visit Oregon or Washinton IN THE SUMMER!

Hey Josie! Missed you these last few days! And told Pam today how much I love you!
It was really good. Pam is so great and so patient! She had booked a make-up lesson for me at the Clinique stand (inside Mayfair Mall) so we went there and the lady put make-up on my face and told me about the products. I bought a small kit with cleaning products for my face, I hope they will help me to get rid of my pimples.
Then we bought a book for Danny. It’s called ‘The Last Lecture’ and I remember that my sister sent me a link one day with this video lecture and I was really touched by it. I think he may have read the book already because it’s not a new release but I think it may be a good book for him if he didn’t. If he already read it, he can give it to someone else.
I also bought a nice pair of sandals for me because I only have tennis shoes and flip-flops… LOL… Such a tomboy…
We had coffee at Alterra (really good, I had a mint one, don’t remember the exact name right now but had something to do with frog) and visited Teavana so I could see the famous Teavana. LOL…
We went to Cheesecake Factory and it’s so huge and beautiful. I had such a blast meeting the girls! Everyone is so lovely and they were so funny! They heard another table singing happy birthday and they told the waiter that it was my birthday (it isn’t) and he brought my cheesecake with a candle on it and they sang ‘Happy Birthday’. LOL…
I had so much fun!

Erika, you are the sweetest, love you too! It sounds like you had a fantastic day! The makeup lesson sounds fun. I don’t think you need much though, I thought you looked very pretty in the photo Pam posted yesterday, and that was after a journey of, what was it, about 24 hours? That is impressive!
The Cheesecake Factory is fun, that’s a popular place here too. That’s where we usually meet some friends who have a baby, they like it b/c it’s noisy enough that if the baby fusses, no one really notices much.
Oh, I didn’t tell you about my funny moment of getting busted at my sister’s house checking out Danny stuff on her PC – on Monday morning I couldn’t stand it, just had to take a peek at what stations had come in so far. So I pulled up the site but I forgot that when a new station reports there is a sound. So I’m sitting there in the family room with her laptop, talking to everyone and “checking my email” when all of a sudden it goes “KA-CHING!!!!!!”. Everyone was like “What in the heck was that???”. Oops. I explained but I think they are still a little perplexed about why I would care about that radio station stuff, lol!

It was noisy, I could only hear what half the table was saying, most of the time, but great place! Our waiter was really nice as well. Poor thing believed it was my birthday and wished me happy birthday when we were leaving. LOL! So sweet.
Oh, I do need make-up. That picture was from afar! You can’t really see my pimples on that! And I had a bit of make-up on as well. I looked so pale when I left the plane that I decided to put some make-up on not to scare Pam! I have a lot of marks from the pimples (I pick on them…) but, most of the time, I don’t bother putting make-up on. People are training me, though… they keep saying that I have to stop picking on my pimples and learn how to apply make-up to look pretty when I meet Danny. LOL… My sis was like: ‘Stop picking! Stop eating chocolate! Do you want to meet Danny with your face all red because of the pimples?’… Did it work? No… I still eat chocolate… I try to remember not to touch my face but I do it without thinking, most of the time…
I spent 17 hours on planes + 3 hours in connection.
Are there any new adds for Danny apart the 34, love? I’m gonna update the page, still not sleepy.
