SCROLL DOWN FOR THE LATEST NEWS! THIS IS A STICKY POST!
Sorry for the downtime! The good news is we’re getting too popular. The bad news is we’re getting too popular! HA! Our host took us offline because it was hogging resources with the traffic and we’ve been asked to move to a dedicated server. We’ll be moving over the weekend so don’t fret if you don’t see it again.
Don’t forget to vote for ‘My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me’ video on the right side link and keep requesting Danny to your radio station!
And take a moment to check out our *updated post* about the Bring Erika to See Danny campaign!

Hey Everybody,
I missed you guys. Hope everyone is doing great. June 21, the date that Danny’s new single will be out,
I see that Danny was PHENOMINAL last night at HoChunk. I heard that a great time was had by all Ihearts who attended.
I’m going to start trying to post all the stuff that’s only been on Twitter.
Twitter: jannworth
Hey, everbody, I was glad to see that Iheart is back in business–missed you all. Obviously I didn’t kick my Gokeyholicism in the time we were “down”. Here’s some info sent to some friends about last nights GREAT Danny concert at Ho Chunk:
I’m sending off a quick note to let you know that Ed and I had a great time at Danny’s concert last night.
We met up with Pam, Cindy, Michelle, Jen, and Kristy. And got to meet a few new die hard Danny fans–including one that sang in Danny’s choir at Faithbuilders! I met her in line at the Meet and Greet and it ended up that she had the seat NEXT to me at the concert. I had a really nice visit with her–we both felt stymied not dancing to EVERY song Dan sang.
Danny sounded great! (Even though his speaking voice was a little raspy from a cold.) Because the best tickets went to Casino “rewards club” members, the huge DG fans were in the second tier of tickets. Ho Chunk had two huge screens to the right and left of the stage, so seeing the concert was no problem. He sang every song from the album plus Life is a Hwy, Back at One, PYT (with everyone on the dance floor), a bit of You Are So Beautiful, Aint No Mt High Enough and Trouble. For Trouble he invited everyone to come down front (which was great fun) and that is when he performed My Best Days AAM and PYT. I have a few good pictures from being 4 people back from the stage. His next single hits radio on 6/21! I hope it starts to get played before then so that it makes a nice debut.
At the Meet and Greet, Danny said he had not seen the Stars Up Close article in the May 31st edition of Country Weekly. I got a couple of pictures of Ed and Danny talking and laughing about that. I swear Danny called Ed by name when Ed went up to meet him. D also had an autographing session after the concert.
I intend to write up a recap, but I just had to post a little first. I have a couple of last night’s pictures posted on twitpic:

Danny and band put on a great band. And yes I did get a pic and a couple of great hugs for him. Jan

Hi all!
Even though I’m too busy to be posting, missed iheart!
I see some news got out via twitter.
Danny never disappoints.
Even though he had a cold, he sounded great as usual, wow, his voice just fills up the venue. Different crowd, though, older casino crowd! Luckily Danny told anyone who wanted to to ditch their seats at the end and crowd the stage so we could get “enthusiastic”
I see news got out on Twitter; our trusty Jan asked him first re IWNSGB- adds for June 21; he then announced to all concertgoers before he sang it ( it never sounded better I thought when he sang it).
Poor Danny looked exhausted afterwards but of course he signed for everyone, did meet & greet for 90 people before (concert started half hour late) and also hung out talking to Milw. peeps after the signing.
Plaid shirt with grey vest; looked fabulous- hair is longer.
Back to work, lol.

Make that: “Danny and his band put on a great concert!”
Regarding today’s photo from one year ago at the AI 8 post finale party–that’s Danny’s sister (Jannelle?) in the background. She was at last night’s concert as well as a ton of his friends and family. And of course a bunch of us obsessed fans…
Twitter: jannworth
Pam, we are twins aren’t we? Can’t stay away from Iheart… I loved seeing you last night. But you’re the hard working one, on SHF stuff while I got to float around like a social butterfly….I’m glad SHF had such an enthusiastic crowd!
Loved the recaps and can’t wait to read your full review.
Hi to everyone! Nice to see you back IHeart! Just had to say, in case anyone hasn`t seen them, I loved those interviews on ACC with Kix Brooks, what a lovely guy-Danny seemed the most relaxed I have ever seen him- and Part 1 had me in fits of laughter-Part 2, almost in tears-but these have to be the most natural, enjoyable interviews I`ve seen in a long time- We, at DGEurope will be VERY busy the next few weeks-promoting the single-we have big plans! Can`t wait for the video!
Twitter: jannworth
Amy, its good to know everything’s been “put right” here at Iheart–but its absence did force me to go post at DG.com. (That’s a good thing.) This is the official NEWs spot for al things Danny and some heart felt posting.
Josie posted a really great audio with Kix Brooks at DG.com. Its hilarious (food at his house growing up), warm and very sad (revealing about losing Sophia.) Its in 3 segment. Kix and Danny have a very easy rapport. I’m sure the ihearties don’t want to miss it.
Jan
Jan, Hi! So glad you had such a great night-seems Danny was on top form, even with a cold! He gives so much of himself, before, during and after the concerts- What a guy! As you can imagine, we, in the UK and Europe CANNOT WAIT until we get the chance to see him `live`! But, you know what they say,`Good things are worth waiting for`!!
Just in case you don’t see it in the post today (and I’ll post again), the site is officially moving Saturday night/Sunday so don’t worry if you see it down again.
Last night sounds like it was a blast. That’s so sweet of Danny to ask you all to come down to the stage and dance. Sounds like a big party.
Carole, You UK/Europe fans are so dedicated. What a lucky guy Danny is for having such wonderful fans.
So glad iheart is back. I missed you guys and all things Danny. Glad he had a wonderful show. Cold and all that is the mark of a great performer. The show must go on. Hope he gets some rest.
Gotcha, Thanks Amy
Twitter: jannworth
Hi Carole! I see we are in 100% agreement that the Kix Brooks interviews are some of the best of Danny we have ever heard. Danny is so warm, funny and real. He was that way last night on stage, too. He reveals so much of himself.
Here’s the link for those that haven’t seen it. click on the Danny Gokey button on the header above the player.
http://www.acctop40.com/video.asp
Connie,
I know what you mean. I hope Danny gets some well deserved rest. He needs some time to recoup.
Just watched the Kix interview. Funny but sad. His explanation of mystery can reminded me of my youth. Mom would always buy the unlabeled can cause they were a nickle. Do you know how much canned spinache I ate? Oh well a modified shared memory with Danny.
Twitter: steph6449
hi everyone, glad the site is back up at least temporarily til the full makeover is done.
was excited to read that tweet this morning that IWNSG will be out for radio on the 21st
I really tried earlier today to listen to Lee singing the studio version of the U2 song. I didn’t do any better than when I listen to Kris, lol. Had to turn it off halfway through. Although people compare Lee all the time to Danny, I don’t like the tone of his voice nearly as much, and in that song he really sounded to me as if he was affecting a phony British accent. Kinda creepy
Actually reading since the AI finale, interesting to see how many frequent Danny bashers are coming online and saying favorable things about Danny. Some Kris fan tweeted to their pals today asking whether they would go see Lee or Danny in concert, and even the worst Danny hater hereabouts came back saying Danny for sure, that Danny can sing, and that Danny would try to entertain the crowd. Aww to the hater confessions
I did think Kris sounded pretty good on the AI finale though, at least compared to other times I’ve seen him since AI8 ended.
Hi gang
. Boy, I was really going through withdrawls
. I did manage to see some stuff on Twitter which helped. Great to see all the ihearties who attended last night. Poor Danny had a cold. I’m not surprised. He has been going non stop. He really is a trouper! Thanks for the recaps. I still hope to see him this next week. Did anyone ever find out how many albums he sold on QVC? So glad his next single will be out June 21st. It couldn’t be soon enough. I hope his video will be out shortly after.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Hi everyone, nice to see you back! I was watching twitter last night to see news about the show, was so glad that it went great! Sounds like you guys had a blast!
Steph, I didn’t make it all the way through Lee’s song either. It was ok but just didn’t interest me that much. My favorite things at the finale were Casey with Bret Michaels and Crystal with Alanis Morissette was pretty good. I like Michael McDonald a lot and was happy to see him. I like Big Mike too, but they didn’t really seem to connect together all that well. I kept thinking how cool it would be to hear Danny sing with Michael McD.
Twitter: pjgvet
Amy; did the site have a sudden increase of traffic? Do you think it was due to QVC?
Or has it been slowly increasing and getting near the point of overloading?
Seems like it was rather sudden that they cut you off; I was just wondering if it was QVC
Twitter: pjgvet
Josie, Casey and Bret were by far my favorite thing about the show too (loved him slinging the two guitars around!)- he was finally able to sing the kind of music he really wanted to.
And I adore Alanis; she was really good with Crystal. Funny how they changed the sex references in the song, was wondering how they would handle that!
My Wish made me kind of sad and nostalgic for the AI tour. That was my favorite song out of Danny’s set.
U2 is one of my favorite bands and I’m not interested in Lee’s version either. Crystal’s was good, but probably won’t buy either.
Kris sang well (except they goofed up the sound in the beginning for him, poor guy
) but the song is kind of boring- maybe the radio version is better?
Loved seeing all the Idols on stage; wish Danny would have been there, but he was fulfilling his obligations.
End of pjg’s 60 second Idol finale recap/critique!
Twitter: jannworth
Josie, watching the AI Finale Wednesday night put me in a blue mood. So many times I thought of Danny (Joe Cocker, My Wish–no body can sing it now that Danny has sung it, Michael McDonald) And then Danny tweeted about wishing he could have joined the other idols. It tore at my heart. I knew he was fine and so is his career, but…
And then I rebounded and had a fabulous time at his concert last night. He really is doing great. So many people really love our guy. It sounds like “closet” Danny fans our coming out all over. And last night, it was obvious the connection he makes.
Great to see everyone flocking back to Iheart! I will be working on a recap. Jen, Pam, New Cindy, Michelle, Jason,& Christy–will you guys be sending in photos and recaps?

as related to expectations for what a successful album looks like these days — very brief item talking about trends for country music album sales. (appears longer version is for paid subscribers only, but I found the quick stats interesting anyway)
http://www.musicrow.com/2010/05/country-sales-slide-continues/
Twitter: steph6449
This was interesting, male tweeter that I don’t remember seeing before talking about Danny. With bunch of tweets en route to see Danny, before the show, and after the show both yesterday and continuing today. One of the people he is tweeting to appears to be a radio host in WI, where he asks that they play IWNSG.
http://twitter.com/RAWss23
aww to this
http://frommyfrontporchlookingin.blogspot.com/2010/05/more-danny-gokey-love.html
I remember reading her blog about what a huge Danny fan her husband was. Hadn’t realized he was connected with a school in the Clorox competition.
Couldn’t tell what it was about but saw someone tweeting in the past couple of days that Danny had visited their school this week. Maybe when he was in PA, don’t quite remember.
Twitter: pjgvet
Jan, not doing a formal recap (and I have no pics, except I might change my gravatar to Danny pic
) but gave my tidbits at beginning. But feel free to elaborate away, girl!
Gokey guy, for you: I know you are hungry for meet & greet details!
They must all really differ: inside, outside, hallway, room. HoChunk was very nice. Three groups of 30; took each group into room where you could watch everyone else’s meeting (quite entertaining at times). Drummer Mike took pics. One girl kissed him, lots asked for hugs. I just had pic, didn’t want to take much of his time because concert wound up being 35 minutes late because of the large meet & greet (and I felt guilty last time grabbing him in a hug without asking, lol). But I am officially a stalker; he said (as he did at Colorado show) “Nice to see you again”. Yikes! He is so patient and accommodating to all. I could tell his voice was a little hoarse and I worried how his singing would go; but I thought he sounded great. Its Only isn’t my favorite song, but it sounded fantastic and might have been my fave of the night.
Steph, that casual fan/tweeter you mentioned really was right; it was the slow songs that just completely impressed last night with the power/beauty of his voice. It could have partly been because the casino crowd was a little older and sat for all the fast songs. Danny was smart to have us all rush the stage at the end.
I hope the casual fan we helped followed through on her promise; a gentleman dropped off an extra ticket at the SHF booth because a woman had an extra. When this girl asked us when the concert would start and said she would stand outside to listen, we gave her the ticket; but I said she had to promise to buy his CD afterward
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Pam, I can just imagine that girl’s face when she realized she was going to get to go to the show! What a wonderful surprise!
According to my stats, there was not a huge peak. I don’t really understand why it was just all of a sudden. I mean, we’ve definitely grown but there was not a specific spike to speak of.
Twitter: jannworth
Amy, its great to hear that Iheart continues to grow–what a testimony to Danny’s increasing popularity.
When I met Danny last night I told him that all of us at Iheart are ready to push (request) the next single to radio when its released! As you know, he’s really appreciative of the hard working fans that gather at this site!
With a 6/21 date, will some stations start rolling it out before? Certainly Milwaukee could/would. My Madison stations might also. I now have a very nice email from the Program Director from Q106.3 and PD at 96.3 has been noted as a big fan of MBDAAM. (For a few weeks they played it more than any station in the country.)
Jan
Twitter: steph6449
from @mandisaofficial
I know she seems to be a big fan of Danny’s. Not sure if they have met before or how often? But wouldn’t that be the drummer who was with Danny at MSMC last fall, who was on loan from Mandisa?
Also interesting just as I would have thought Danny would stay in Wisconsin this weekend before going to his California concert on Memorial Day. Seems he must be in Nashville instead.
.
One thing we can do with IWNSG to show interest is keep clicking it on the country radio station New Music section. From what I can see on WMZQ, Danny still has MBD (#1), IWNSG (#4), and Life on Ya (#5) all in the top 5.
http://www.wmzq.com/new2/discover/index.html?format=177
Also keep a watch out for when it appears on some of the new music surveys for Rate the Music, etc.

Duplicate post, I was in the wrong day for a few posts.
Nashville country club sent out a new poll for the radio songs. His song is on the list but I’m sure if they used it or not for the samples.
I know that Amazon doesn’t count as much but he’s higher there than usually. I think his sales will still be up this week. If pulse is right, since they have a daily percentage versus weekly his sales are usually up on the weekend and not on Wed/Tues/Thurs even. It’s the start of the weekend so hopefully it’ll go back up. I’ve been told that the for someone to make the top 20/30 albums on Itunes since they don’t sell that many. All they have to sell is about 500 and it’ll move up for one day. Since he’s down further than than it’s less to get those amounts. So I don’t think between 50-80 on country are that many albums in between. But I think his album should be moving in the other direction on there.
Hi Everybody!
Glad that the iheart site is up. When this site was down, it was like having a Danny Gokey news blackout. There is very little news in the DG Official site, Twitter is so limited.
Kudos to you Amy and Erika for working hard to give us Danny news 24/7!
I hope we can have videos of Danny’s recent concert.
Ana
(I transferred my post from the 27th thread to here, lol)
Twitter: jevjos
For the one that you’re looking at Steph he actually moved back up. His lost the #1 spot to Jerrod after holding it every day for 3 weeks. It’s the same for everywhere else as well. I haven’t been looking so much since since Jerrod took over but it’s nice that he’s back to #1. Nice that MBD is gaining on something.
Twitter: jevjos
Duplicate post again
That’s the best news in the world with the date of the single. Back when were guessing dates was that the date with no other songs going for adds that week? If so he’s in good shape if it’s just him that week
His album was also #184 on BB200 this week so he’s still good.
Twitter: BLfolsom
Ana, I love your post; we’ll call this bump in the road the 2010 Gokey Blackout.
Whew, I think I went into Danny shock without iheart these past few days. Thank heavens you’re up and running.
Yeah Lee for winning the AI finale, favorite duet was Casey and Brett. But I must say it was good to see Michael McDonald singing “Takin’ It To The Streets.” Sure wish Danny could have been there – but I suppose that’s what happens when your booked to the brim with appearances.
Step, thx so much for following me on twitter even though I don’t have much to say.
Missed you guys, so glad we’re back together.

P.S. It’s my daughters 20th Birthday today! Happy Birthday Rachel

Hello.
Things are extremely slow these days.Seems like I am not the only one who dont like negative topic.
Billie, lol
“2010 Gokey Blackout”.
I hope it will not happen again.
Twitter: steph6449
Hopefully the extra QVC sales will hit for the next album sales update on BBD. It may slow though between the radio singles, and time it could take for IWNSG to move up the charts.
Suppose we can dream that is finally the timeframe when we will see Danny popping up more on tv for promo interviews. Right around the 21st he is in another swing with Sugarland but believe he has some windows at other times in June.
mr B, it was slow here the past few days as the site was having some issues with the Internet hosting company.
Twitter: mrbingfordannyg
Okay it’s better in this case
Billie, I hope your daughter has had a fun birthday today. Happy Birthday, Rachel!
I was posting on the wrong day thread tonight – not sure how that happened. Anyway, I am so happy Iheart is back up. I was also going thru serious withdrawals. I had things I wanted to say and nobody to say them to. I did try to catch up on twitter but it’s a lot harder since you have to be so brief.
I was so happy to hear IWNSGB is going to be released on 6/21. That is the original date I thought it would be released but second guessed myself and changed to July. I am really seeing a connection between radio play and album sales. His album sales have gone down since MBDAAOM starting losing radio airplay. Not everyone whose songs get played on the radio see their album sales increase but I do think that Danny is more of an album seller than a single seller like Kris.
I do hope Danny’s album sales can stay stable enough for him to stay on Billboard 200 until IWNSGB makes its way up the charts or he has some promotional appearances for the song. I think his QVC sales will help him this week as will his performance last night. I noticed that his CD is the best selling item in the American Idol fan shop so that is good.
Sounds like all Danny’s hometown fans had a great time last night. I always like it when his concerts are in WI because he seems to share more with you guys and we get more juicy details. He trusts you guys.

OMG!!! YAY! Iheart is back in business!!! Oh my!!! for a day or two I thought this site was gone whew!!! its like my dannyworld just stopped uggghh!!! but its alright now YAY!!!
wow great recaps from ho chunk!!! YAY!! is there any recaps on Allentown???
When I watched the Finale, im so sad that Danny wasn’t there with the other Idols on the stage, well allison is there and Anoop and Kris, well of course cuz they don’t have anything to do on their careers… and when Joe Cocker, Michael Mcdonald reminded me of Danny and My Wish was sung on Ford Music Videos!!! aww I missed Danny on that!!!!
Pam – thanks for the M&G highlights!!! YAY!
WOW! just watched the ACC thing… Milk and Macaroni??? I never heard of that, Its kinda sad and weird when I heard Danny was talking about Life before Idol, where he said, about the food and everything. It really touches my heart. sigh!!!
Twitter: pjgvet
Billie; Happy Birthday to your daughter! What is your twitter name Billie?
Steph, thanks for the Mandisa pic. I’m pretty sure that was the drummer that Mandisa let Danny borrow.
I also wondered that; those two seem like good friends; wonder when they met and how they came to know each other? She does seem to really like Danny.
Cherie, I took the Nashville poll; but didn’t get MBD on my poll. I see Danny is listed though; at number 22 is it?
It is sad; Milwaukee only playing him once a day now. I would imagine he will start getting played before the add date like last time (I hope).
We are all so addicted to Danny news; in withdrawal with site down! And Amy said it will be down again Sat./Sun…. At least Danny doesn’t have a lot going on.
I will be really anxious to hear how the bikers received him Memorial day. I predict they will really like him
I had been thinking; Harley Davidson has the huge national (international) rides to Milwaukee every 5 years or so on Anniversaries; it would be awesome if Danny could be the entertainment! Last time it was Elton John (they were not happy with that choice).
Twitter: jannworth
Its great that Danny is spending time doing some normal life things–like a wedding reception.
I don’t know who said it, but I too guessed that Danny would spend a day or two in Milwaukee before heading to CA–but he turned up in Nashville. I imagine his family must miss him big time. It’s feast or famine (mostly famine….) They got him for two weeks at Christmas. I wonder when he’ll next get a two week vacation?
I think the interview with Kix, is really nice. he seems like a really good guy to talk to. He’s always so nice on the countdown show when he introduced MBDAAM. And that’s a nice CD review, too! Ed watched the food interview. He thought it was funny, but sadly he could relate to it, LOL! I never had SPAM until I met his family. And the mystery food? Too funny. Can you imagine being a 11 year old boy, hoping for Spaghetti O’s and getting beets? I never had spaghetti O’s until I met Ed’s family, either…..
Danny’s beard looked awesome, too. I’m shallow, aren’t I?
Pam, I predict that the bikers will love Danny, too. Bikers like authentic/real people. (Can some of you guess that my husband has a few motorcycles? I have one, too.) And the fact that Danny’s from the city that is the home of Harley Davidson, can’t hurt!
Twitter: jancute
jan – actually, when I heard that about Danny’s life before Idol, I was kinda sad about the truth, how Danny and his family kinda struggle to meet everyday food consumption… Some of my friends here says that spam is not a good food to eat, and they have reasons, but back at home in the Philippines, If you’re eating Spam, you’re considered as rich, cuz Spam costs much that other American food… I can’t imagine Danny’s life back then if thats the case about the food, so this is why he loves eating delicious foods cuz they lack of it back in the days…
Twitter: BLfolsom
Hi Pjgvet, my twitter name is BL Folsom; follow me if you’d like, but like I said..I really don’t say much.
My FB is Billie Folsom, if you friend me be sure to write me a note stating you’re from iheart, otherwise I’ll hit ignore ’cause I won’t know ya. There have been several people pop up asking to “friend” me that I have no clue who they are.
Or perhaps my brain isn’t working like it did 30 yrs. ago.
