Morning everyone. Loved the video from Oasis. Truely inspirational. Looking forward to seeing Danny on Friday in Myrtle Beach. PT has been brutal but will be worth it when I can walk up to Danny and say thank you for the inspiration. Back at work now but I will check back later.

This station in SC has a promotion for tickets to see Danny, interesting as this is not a country station.
103X: Check out Fisher and Kobe this week for more chances to win Danny Gokey tickets!

Sometime today, Sharon Wilbur’s video with Danny should be posted. Maybe here, or check her twitter at @sharonwilbur or @FaceofFox30

Found this interesting also as we were talking about country tours as a farm for newbie artists.

Brad Paisley apparently will be bringing four or five supporting acts with him this summer. He’s already announced Darius Rucker, and this also mentions Justin Moore on the main concert. But they are making Brad’s concerts almost into mini-festivals, with time for some performances before the main show. In that afternoon/early evening block, Brad will have Easton Corbin, Steel Magnolia, and Josh Thompson.
MBDAAOM is #27 on mediabase this morning with 1198 spins – up 172 spins.
Hi everyone.
I am glad to see that Danny is up 172 spins for the week, I hope that today is another good add day for him.
I was looking at TWOP this morning and saw that the Kris Allen thread over there was locked again, lol.
Twitter: steph6449
Glad Danny is #27 this morning. Do see that Toby at #28 is getting closer, but also Danny is starting to sneak up on Lee Brice just above him. Maybe Danny will be able to overtake Lee.
Hadn’t paid much attention to Jerrod Niemann, who’s that? He’s now #29 after passing Gretchen Wilson.
Morning guys! Thanks for the link, Steph. Part of the reason why I love country music so much, is the decency displayed by its stars… “we are humbled by the fact that he thinks enough of us to allow us to bring our music to his fans” Josh of Steel Magnolia.

did anyone else just have a rubber ducky start following them on twitter? lol! i guess i’ll leave them be, along with the “cat” that is still following me from Nashville. after all, Danny doesn’t want to exclude anyone

Thanks for the great update, Ellen. Bet Danny enjoyed your hug!
Just saw Danny’s tweet and picture from his Tunica performance. Noticed his ‘friend’ has tweeted all sorts of nonsense in response. I cannot imagine being him, having to put up with that.
Poor guy.

Maryann,Is there anything wrong with the comments on his twi picture.I dont see anything wrong ,through some may push too much
Twitter: steph6449
For her, that’s pretty reasonable though
The one who’s bugging me on twitter now is the person who keeps spamming Danny asking him to “hook her up” with backstage passes for the Camden show, kinda rude.
Pic of Danny with a fan in Florida
http://twitpic.com/1br27z
Danny beat Blake Shelton in that 96.3 poll, lol
http://www.963starcountry.com/pages/beefcake.html
Now he’s up against Tim McGraw, which may be doable though this is a silly if entertaining poll, no doubt. And then a question of strategic voting on the other side, would you rather see him up against Luke Bryan or Keith Urban.
Twitter: pjgvet
Yeah on the beefcake poll! Steph, that is my strategy! Vote for the “least” popular/hot guys who will face Danny, lol! I would say Danny could beat LUke Bryan easier than Keith.
Yes, once again, the requests to Danny get old; of course EVERYONE would like BS passes; why do they deserve them? And poor Danny, he really could suffer from “compassion fatigue”.
I think fans who really care about him should not specifically REQUEST things from DAnny, IMO its selfish. Whether its emailing him with requests, twittering him for tickets, passes, whatever, its not cool, IMO. Asking him for a hug is different, because you never know what venue it is allowed and which it isn’t (unless of course you have already been told he won’t be taking pics, etc. and you pester him for the same).
Sorry, will get off my soapbox now! Just had a lot to say before I take the computer in for service
BTW, thanks again Erika for posting the Oasis service. That second service gave me the chills; he is so soulful, passionate. I can’t believe someone would chastise you for posting something already on the internet. I’m sure Danny would want to witness to as many people as possible; he was not there privately going to church; he was there to minister!
Hi everyone! In Europe we turned the clocks forward one hour and it looks like the time difference makes it even more difficult to comment here. It’s 5.30 pm in Finland and I’m leaving work soon.
Totally enjoyed Ellen’s recap and still waiting for Gokeyguy’s recap.
Have a lovely day and I hope to be able to visit here during the week. How many days do you have off work in US during Easter?
Hi Pam, did you get the computer problems sorted out or are you using somebody else’s computer? I still need to watch that Oasis service video, but looks like it’s another amazing performance from Danny.
Hey everyone! Good morning! I’m off to school, but just wanted to drop by & say hi. If anyone can, please vote for my video in the contest! Sorry guys, it’s going to be a long two weeks of advertising. We have a slim lead over second right now but if we can extend that while I’m at school, I’d be so greatful! Thank you! Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/9haVtO

Good evening Hannele! I’m using my son’s slow computer; he probably has all kinds of virus’s and such from visiting music sites, et. Leaving now to take my computer in for service.
Unfortunately, we don’t get any days off for Easter in the US. Its on a Sunday. Maybe someone can correct me, perhaps Good Friday is a legal holiday for the Post office, etc?
The second Oasis performance is particularly powerful.
Have a great day everyone! Danny will be here tomorrow and Wed filming his WI vision commercial and he is bringing the nice weather as he always does
Up in the 70′s! Well, except for us Lake MI dwellers; we will probably see only 55; but better than 30′s.

Checked out the TWOP thread FOGS; too bad its locked; I really did want to comment on the fact that people were saying live performances don’t drive album sales (as a defense against people saying Kris must have poor live performances because he has low album sales). What is the point of touring with someone then, if you don’t want to gain new fans and potential album sales?
Also found this interesting; they also listed Focus on the Family review of Kris’s album. In their defense (since we-me included- were so up in arms over their thinking some of Danny’s lyrics were titillating!) they must try to balance out their positivity with some criticism to seem like real music critics:
“There’s really very little on Kris Allen’s debut that might offend the sensibilities of the many fans who voted for him on American Idol. That said, there’s also little here that reflects the perspective of someone who’s a) happily married and b) a committed Christian (Allen served for a time as an assistant music director at his church in Conway, Ark.).”
With a comment by the Adam fan……..
“This probably explains the llwd ranking in the christian music category. I suspect we’ll see more inspirational/spiritual music from Kris as time goes on. Kris and Danny might be a good pairing on the tour circuit after all.”
LOL! Still trying to put Danny in the CCM box; and now throwing Kris in there with him too.
It is entertaining!
OK, really have to go now, get computer in.
Good luck with the computer, Pam. Mine is a mess too. No sound for over a week now. I am going to loose it soon! I hate to take it in for service, but I can’t stand not being able to listen to Danny’s videos anymore. Every fix known to computer geeks has been tried. I give up too
.
Sorry this is so long, but I found it interesting. It’s from the askjimmycarter blog:
*****************************
The American music scene seems to be experiencing a phenomenon of painfully loud and meaningless over-singing which could be due in part to hit talent shows like American Idol, according to Renee Grant-Williams, one of the nation’s leading voice experts and coach to some of the music industry’s biggest stars.
Grant-Williams points to this week’s painful duet by two former Idol contestants as an example, “By shamelessly over-singing, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas managed to destroy what might otherwise have been a perfectly decent song. Their performance was over-loud, over-ornamented, mutually over-competitive and ultimately banal.”
“The lyrics to Make a Wave written by Scott Krippayne and Jeffrey D. Peabody are very positive and send a very powerful message,” says Grant Williams. “However, these two singers obscured the words so badly by over-singing, that I had to look up the lyrics to see what they were actually saying. The very essence of a song is to touch the listener by conveying a message of some kind. That’s difficult to do when no one can get a grip on the melody or understand what’s being said.”
Grant-Williams feels these non-verbal squiggles should be there for one reason only—to emphasize the powerful emotion of the song. “When a singer ornaments, it should be because, at that moment, the singer’s emotions are running so high that words will not suffice; the singer is only capable of a visceral response too powerful to put into mere words,” she says.
Grant-Williams also says singers she encounters are increasingly belting out songs to the point where words don’t matter. “We seem to be caught up in an epidemic of loud,” says Grant-Williams. “Singing should be more subtle than just slinging a lot of voice around. If you sing with a thundering voice, you sacrifice the honesty, intimacy, and integrity of music. Yet, this style is presented to millions of TV viewers as desirable.”
“You just don’t hear the level of ear-splitting over-singing in Australia and other places like you do here in America,” says Grant-Williams, who recently returned from a sold-out teaching-tour of Australia. Observations she made during tours in Europe and South America confirm that this phenomenon is especially prevalent in the United States. “I’m convinced it’s due in part to the tremendous influence in the U. S. of talent shows where over-singing is rewarded.”
“I still think America has the best singers on the planet,” says Grant-Williams. “They just need to bring down the volume and focus on the words and the emotions. I’m determined to do what I can to curb these phenomenon before they get out of hand.”
Grant-Williams has as few simple suggestions to help singers get back to the basics of good singing:
1. A song is a one-way conversation, a singer must be very intimate with the words.
2. Singing should be like speaking with the audience, there’s no need to yell.
3. Use consonants and silence to indicate the most important words of the song.
4. Use inflection sparingly as you would use spices, too much will ruin the song.
Grant-Williams coaches aspiring performers as well as celebrities including Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Miley Cyrus, Faith Hill, the Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilera, Linda Ronstadt, Randy Travis, and Huey Lewis. She has been quoted by Cosmopolitan, the Associated Press, Business Week, UPI, Southern Living, the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Globe, and the San Francisco Chronicle. She has appeared on many broadcast outlets including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Bravo, USA, MTV, GAC, BBC, PBS, and NPR. Grant-Williams is a former instructor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as the former director of the Division of Vocal Music at the University of California, Berkeley.

What does everybody think? I’ll have to take her word for it that it’s an American phenomenon, but it didn’t originate with American Idol. Think Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Myriah Carey, and Taylor Dane. I stopped buying their music when they starting wielding their voices like weapons.
Hmm. And here I thought Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas just couldn’t sing! Didn’t know the problem was oversinging! (I still think that Joe, at least, can’t sing.)
Wonder what Ms. Grant-Williams would think of Danny’s singing?
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Pam I have said it before that I think some of the tweets go way overboard in making demands of Danny. Now that the M&G passes are being promoted as fundraisers for SHF, which I think is a wonderful idea, these people asking for Danny to get them passes is ridiculous. Maybe Danny should respond by directing them to the SHF site where they can buy the passes! I wonder if all these demands on Danny will eventually lead to him doing M&G’s less and maybe even tweeting and DM’ing less because so many people are demanding it of him. He may begin to feel that because he can’t meet everyone’s demands, he should stop all-together. Danny seems like the kind of celebrity that would love to remain connected, but I could see at some point it might become too hard to accomodate fans and he may feel forced to pull back. He has been more accommodating to fans than most celebs are and it would be a shame if he had to pull back because it becomes too much to handle.
Ellen Interesting article about the over-singing. I do see her point, but like you said it has been around long before Idol. I do wonder what she would think of Danny. My guess is she might put him in that category, but I think there is a distinct difference between Joe Jonas/Demi Lovato and Danny. Danny has a powerful voice that he has been using for years singing gospel – it is who he is as a singer. Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato do not appear to have the kind of big voices that lends itself to big songs. I don’t define people with big, powerful voices (like Danny) as over-singing, but I do think others who don’t naturally have powerful voices sometimes do oversing.
Twitter: mrbingfordannyg
For me,The most important thing about singing is emotion.I wont deny skills are necessary when you are singing. But without emotion singing will just be singing.BTW,I like Whitney Houston. She is the first american singer that I fell in love without.Although I am not a fan of female high notes,I do love her powerful voice. And she sings with emotion.
Twitter: mrbingfordannyg
without=with,sorry
Twitter: mrbingfordannyg
I dont think Danny over-sing during AI.The only song might be put in that category is carrie’s JTTW.Since carrie also has a powerful voice it’s okay Danny may over do it a little
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Hi everyone. Danny has 4 adds so far, including the 1 that was already reported for Bakersfield. He also got KYGO in Denver (yay!), KATC in Colorado Springs, and the station that told him they were going to add the song did come through, WUSH in Roanoke VA.
HDD has some 54.98% of the sales estimates reports in from last week. So far Danny is #37 on the chart and so far they are estimating that he sold at least 6,811 albums. This is just the first set of reports so once all the sales reports come in Danny could drop.
Last week when the first updates came in on HDD they had Danny at #22, then he ended up droppin 11 spots on the Billboard chart and actually being ranked #33 on that chart. So he could be ranked lower on the Billboard chart once all the sales estimates/numbers come in from HDD and then Soundscan. But he still might have a shot of being ranked in the Top 50 albums this week. Link to the current sales chart from HDD:
http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi
I think that what constitutes oversinging is going to vary depending on the starting point of the singer’s voice and talent.
In particular, among singers with powerful voices, the line between singing and oversinging may be a thin one, and opinions are more likely to vary depending on the ear of the beholder. In other words, I think you will find more disagreement about whether someone with a powerful voice is oversinging on a particular occasion, than you would with a singer who has a thinner voice, less range, etc. I think in the latter instance, the oversinging will be more noticeable.
I do think that Danny has oversung on occasion, but not very often. He has remarkable instincts. The best example I can think of is the glory note on “O Holy Night.” That could have a disaster if he’d let it go on too long or ended it badly. Instead, he showed impressive control and the song is very, very effective. And if Ms. Grant-Williams defines oversinging as “belting out songs to the point where words don’t matter,” then Danny doesn’t oversing at all. I have never had trouble comprehending the words or their significance (emotional and otherwise) when Danny is singing. In contrast, I couldn’t understand the words or their meaning when Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato were singing. Still have no idea what the song was about; just sounded like caterwauling to me.
BTW, I think Siobhan oversang her last song, although my guess is that there will be plenty of folks who will disagree with me on that.
MrBing
I agree about singing with emotion. For me at least, that’s more important than anything else. Well, maybe singing on key is important too. But that’s why I love Danny–he packs a ton of emotion into every performance.
Pam
That’s funny about people now trying to lump BOTH Kris and Danny into CCM! What is going on at Kris’s TWOP thread that they have to keep locking it? I don’t go to Kris’s thread there very much.
*could have BEEN a disaster (2:28 p.m. post)
I agree with you, Ellen. I liked Siobhan at first, but she’s relying way too much on the scream. I loved her first semifinals performance of the Chris Isaak song, but nothing since then.
I really, really, really want a Lee/Crystal finale, with Lee winning. I confess I’ll be upset if he gets voted off before then. I know everyone here doesn’t agree…
Rowansmom
The Kris thread keeps getting locked at TWOP, because there are trolls in that thread who keep criticizing Kris, and his fans in that thread don’t know how to deal with them. Plus the moderator over there isn’t banning the troll(s), they just keep letting them go in that thread and say the same criticisms about Kris over and over again.
FOGS,
I was curious so I just looked over there in Kris’s thread. Interesting–presently he seems more controversial there than Danny, who seems to be getting almost all love these days. Lots of Kris haters over there (I’m guessing mostly Adam fans). Who woulda thunk it?
Can someone tell me why the judges like Shobian’s screaming, and hated Danny’s? Last Tuesday I told my husband, the judges are going to rip her for that scream!! I was shocked when they compared her to Adam….
The ironic thing is from comments I’ve been seeing, Kradam is a thing of the past–Adam fans seem quite antagonistic to Kris these days, but Danny, not so much. Most of the Glambert comments about Danny seem pretty positive to me, but critical of Kris.
How things can change.
grandmaster-
I’m not sure why. Actually, to be fair though, the judges were very complimentary to Danny, and that was one reason people gave for not liking him–they felt he got overpraised. Of course I didn’t think so, but his haters did.
In all fairness, I don’t think Siobhan is getting more praise than Danny did. Both were wanted in the finale.
Rowansmom
I think that there are Kris haters constantly criticizing Kris in the thread at TWOP for a few reasons. I think that some are still mad that Kris won. And some are poking fun at Kris and the Kris fans because they don’t like the way the Kris fans have acted towards other idols like (Danny, Adam). I think they are using some of the stuff that is happening with Kris like his low album sales to criticize him.

I m not sure if this is old news but Danny is listed as a part of the lineup for ACM concerts at Fremont St stages in LasVegas Friday 4/16 from 8:40 to 9:30 pm. I was on a break from work and checking the ACM site and did not see it listed on the iheart calendar. Wish I was going. Hi and Bye Toni
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Adds are done, so the 4 is final. Except WUSH is in Norfolk, not Roanoke VA.
It’s really impressive about Danny that he can sing with great emotional expressiveness, but still remain in control of it. It seems to me that if he ever has a pitch problem (very rare), it’s more because he made an error in remembering where he wanted to go with the note, not because he lost control of it. That’s how it seems to me, anyway. He has also learned to support his lower register so well, you can hear it really beautifully in O Holy Night. That’s something I think Crystal does well that Siobhan does not. I don’t think the judges are doing Siobhan any favors comparing her to Adam, she is talented of course but not at his level, in my opinion.
Just got off the phone with the friend I gifted Danny’s Cd to. She says be sure and let me know when a new one comes out, I listen to this one constantly!!!
Re Rowansmom: I may remember wrongly, but I thought in the instance of Danny’s scream, the judges weren’t too crazy about it. Other than that they were always praising him…
I disagree with most of what Grant-Williams says.
Loud singing can convey lots of emotion just like toned down. I think it has to do MORE with the tonal quality: fat vocal – like in Danny Gokey and Kelly Clarkson vs. needle-sharp, tiny vocal – like in Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert.
Needles to say Gokey and Clarkson are pleasing to my ear, they make me happy and satisfied while Underwood and Lambert produce annoying and even unnerving emotions in me, making me angry and frustrated.
For me, it will always be about emotion (singer needs to express diametrically opposite emotions, I want to be showered with life in full colors, not monotone colors like Andrew does it – he only conveys deep-seated anger, for example).
Also vocal duration is important for me. Like how long or how short to hold a certain note. When people butcher a song for me, it is mostly because they hold the vocal in certain places either too short or too long or sing emotional songs without vibrato, like Lil Rounds sang the Rose (Bette Midler) without vibrato. Absolutely mind-boggling!
Also important for me, is the nuanced transfer between straight, no vibrato tone and the tone with infused vibrato. This is most pronounced in high register. Danny in that respect is doing superb job in all his songs on the album, especially in LTABT.
Josie, exactly, Danny has improved his low register tremendously.
Thanks for the information about Danny performing at one of the ACM concerts in April, tonic. Hopefully this means that he will also be attending the ACM awards.
Twitter: jevjos
I hope he gets to do more shows with Tim McGraw sometime. I would love to see that. I just heard his song If You Read This, that has to be the saddest song that I have ever heard of. It’s a real tear jerker, county music definitely has the emotions with it. One reason why I think he’s a perfect fit, it’s going on me alot.
Hello all. It sounds like Danny sold around 8,000 cd’s within the last week. I still think that is pretty good, considering he hasn’t had a lot of national exposure. It doesn’t surprise me that kris fans are in contention with Adam fans. Unfortunately, I don’t believe kris will be as successful as Adam, because Adam still seems to get all the national attention. Kris is more reserved, not as outlandish as Adam. I just read an article in the US Weekly today about what is wrong with American Idol this year and how it can be fixed. The article was written by Michael Slezak, who we all know bashed Danny when he was on idol. So, I don’t hold much credence in anything he has to say.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Steph must not be around, I don’t think I’ve seen this posted yet. Sharon Wilbur video blog from Jax, very cute.

Oh that’s right, Steph said it would be posted later. It’s up now.
GRANDMASTER, your guess is as good as mine. Simon said Danny’s scream in “Dream On” was like something out of a horror movie. I didn’t even notice anything wrong with the scream until I listened to it again (after reading all the “Scream On” reports); I thought it was supposed to sound that way. In contrast, Siobhan’s scream literally, physically assaulted my ears. I do not exaggerate; it hurt! I do not know why Siobhan’s scream was painful but Danny’s was not; perhaps it is the “narrowness” that Bosman always talks about. But like you, Grandmaster, I was shocked that not one judge called Siobhan on her scream. I wanted to ask the judges if they’d cleaned their ears out before judging the performances. Thought they might have had more of that ear wax problem!
Am I misremembering that Simon at least cautioned Siohban about over-reliance on her scream?
What did Slezak say, Paula? At least it’s obvious to everyone that there is a problem with Season 9.

Hi everyone!
I’m so happy; my computer only had a broken fan (just like my son diagnosed!). And the fan was only $10; I should have had my son install it since he built his own computer in 8th grade at a camp; but didn’t want to risk it, so paid the $30 to have Geek Squad install.
I know some of you have had bad experience with them, but I thought they were great; they fixed it right while I waited. Of course I had time to browse; Another reason I love Best Buy:
21 Danny CDs on the shelf! Two rows on new release end cap at eye view!! And 2 rows under his own name in Country
Target- not so good. 7 CDs (5 now
) under country, second from the bottom row. I’m so mad; he never even got on the new release endcap because of their outage for 2 weeks. They couldn’t fly anywhere either because all slots are labeled.
Best Buy endcap did get restocked a little from the country section
That’d be great if MBD could stay in top 50 on chart sales. But we will see; I know last week he lost 11 spots down with final numbers.

This is getting to be my favorite radio station. WMIL has a rotating banner on the front page called Music Monday for him as a new artist. This guys have been really great towards him.
Twitter: jevjos
This is a link the banner on the Iheartradio facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/iheartradio?v=app_10531514314&ref=ts
Yes I think Simon even told her to chnage things up Maybe scream in the beginning next time. Thought that was pretty funny!
Twitter: pjgvet
Cherie do you mean iheartradio or WMIL (isn’t that FM106?).
That banner is really nice on iheart. Love it!
Hi Ellen, actually the article was from Entertainment Weekly. He talked about no more group numbers and no repeat of songs that were already done. He talked about what the judges could do better- as if he could do better. Anyway, the most irritating part of the article was he kept comparing everyone to the talent of Kris and Adam last year and how stellar they were. He didn’t even mention Danny
. What a joke! I really can’t wait til Danny has a breakout single, so Slezak can eat crow. I saw on ” People” twitter that the magazine Country Weekly is asking for ideas on who to put on the cover for next week. I don’t use twitter, so if anyone here wants to mention Danny for the cover- that would give him great exposure. Go to Country Weekly website and they have a twitter area.
Twitter: jevjos
He’s getting some advertising. I saw the banner on both. It’s on the front page for the radio station. I think it might be on some other radio stations web pages. He has a different icon on the iheartradio web page for country. He’s under recommended and artists to watch for. Here’s the link the website http://www.iheartradio.com/new2/discover/index.html
Saw the HDD numbers and if they play out like last week Danny may sell somewhere between 8,500 and 9,000 albums this week. That’s not too bad since his single isn’t getting a lot of play yet and he hasn’t had any National promotion. Danny may stay in the top 50 but it may be close.
I was hoping for more than 4 radio adds but I guess he can’t get a lot every week. That should put him over 100 radio stations that have added his song – now they just need to play it.
Twitter: jevjos
Slezak is too much of a fan to be a good journalist. I don’t think he can be objectable to his personal idols. I wouldn’t take anything he says too seriously. Danny has to be around 200,000 total combined for single and albums sales so far; that’s good there’s no way that’s not. I would like to see him -Slezak personally record his own song and put it there and try to beat this, not one of the idols.
Ah, once a sleazebag always a sleazebag. A slave of his own sleaze, forever and for always….
Extremely off topic:
I know many of you ladies probably do not watch Spartacus – Blood and Sand, but I am quite disturbed by the last episode. This series is frikin amazing. Too bad the main actor suffers from cancer. They say he has some treatable kind, but still…
After midnight here, so goodnight everybody.

This is a really weird ad on the amazon page. I’m going to say that it’s 100% not true.
FanPrizes.com/Idol-Sweepstakes – See Danny Gokey in the Idol finale. Enter today for free.
It’s the sponsor links on the webpage. I would say it could be old but it looks new.

Paula, I did as you suggested and replied to @countryweekly on twitter to suggest Danny for the cover. I also told them that I would print extra copies if I were them.
Twitter: jevjos
That ad on Amazon is false advertising, it now says to see Danny Gokey win. Definitely not for real. On a good note the banner is on other radio station sites. I just checked both of them by me and it’s on there. So hopefully he’ll get increased airplay out of this.
Hi everyone -
I am not sure if it’s been discussed – I didn’t see it on the calendar here or on dannygokey.com yet – but US99 country in Chicago just announced that Danny will be performing at Joe’s Bar on Thursday, April 15th. Sounds like you can only win tickets. I SO want to go but always have little luck with winning things. I’ll be trying, though!

Someone should tell them to post a current picture-not the old AI stuff
This was probably already mentioned but Danny is on CMT’s main page as the featured episode for his Apr 2d chat on this week’s Top 20 countdown.
http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/top_twenty_countdown/series.jhtml
Also, don’t forget to vote – he better be on the countdown this week when he is going to be interviewed.
Paula, my mistake. Although I recognized the name of Mr. “Sleaze-ak,” I thought “U.S. Weekly” was a different publication. I don’t read EW on general principle — no credibilty.
With all the songs out there, though, you would think that contestants would think twice about doing repeats. But then, aren’t they being judged in part on their ability to pick songs suited to their voice? If the show’s formula has worked well enough in prior seasons, then obviously the problem is with the caliber of the contestants, not necessarily with the show per se.
Not sure what they can be about reverse-voting (e.g., Vote for the Worst). I’m sure that’s why Haeley managed to hang on as long as she did.
Also, they should have a judge’s save available to use to determine who gets in to the top 12 in the first place. (Or do they have that? I can understand not wanting to use the save too early.) I kinda resent that AI was supposed to be about finding raw, unknown, inexperienced talent, but now it seems to be a shortcut used by those already in the music business, who aren’t getting anywhere as fast as they’d like, e.g. Chris Daughtry, David Cook, Adam Lambert, etc. I’m not trying to pick on them — they are all very talented — but when you have the experienced competing with the inexperienced, the latter are at a decided disadvantage, and the rules were created at a time when everyone was pretty much on equal footing.
Yes, I’m still mad that Alex got voted off so soon (and that Tim is still there in his place). I don’t deny that Alex had little stage presence or performing ability. Nor do I deny that performance ability is important (although it shouldn’t be ranked higher than vocal ability, especially at an early stage). The show is supposed to be about watching the contestants develop . . .
Alex has a very unique and interesting voice. There should have been a way to keep him in, based on vocal talent, until the mentoring kicked in. Better yet, since the experienced are now competing with the inexperienced, why not have mentoring available at an earlier stage? It could be behind-the-scenes and needn’t involve big-name performers.
Hey eveyone! If you can, please remember to vote for my video for the contest. We still need votes, especially when I’m in class so if you can help, that would be great. Thanks everyone! http://bit.ly/9haVtO I’ll only be bothering you guys until April 10.
Very frustrating, Lizzy, that so often when I try to vote the site is down!
Stephfoo, you know if you win we’re gonna want another recap.

Hi, just wanted to make you guys aware that at the request of Danny’s folks we removed the Oasis church video from the site. All future church appearances will also be considered personal and not posted here. Thanks everyone for understanding. Just trying to respect their wishes.

Long, but given the question on how many adds Danny got. Looks like he was within the range of other artists near him on the charts. It’s good to be Brad, but nowhere near as good as it was that one week to be Kenny C.

Steph, reported. Wow, what set that hater off? I see they only have 5 followers, of which 2 or 3 look like spam followers.
Ellen, I completely agree with you on the new artist; vs resident artist using AI as a vehicle for more publicity.
Takes some of the fun out of it , IMO, to have seasoned artists up there; not how the whole series started..
Wonder if is one reason for the decline of the series?
Hello there – I was over at my Target store today – and they did have some Danny CDs (minus the 2 I bought). Planning to give them for Easter gifts (along with the chocolate easter eggs, marshmallow peeps (not Twitter peeps)lol, and jelly beans. That way my son and grandson can be listening to Danny while eating all their treats!!
Also while at Target, I did a double take, as a young man was dressed like Danny does, had his hair the same way and same type of glasses Danny wears. I believe guys are copying “the Danny look” which is such a compliment to Danny! I’ll be on the lookout for more “Danny look alikes”. Hope all is well with you all!!
Twitter: .
I wasn’t going to say anything yesterday but I am glad the asked that the Oasis video be removed.
I did watch it yesterday and felt a bit like a stalker as it seems like intruding on what little down time Danny has. I’m sure that while a MP3 may have been suitable (as we would have been able to hear what we love) but the video to me was like seeing something that was none of my business. JMO and not disrespect to those who enjoyed it.
Twitter: pjgvet
I think the only reason they asked to remove it is because it only had Danny’s part and not the whole service. (too fan-ish and not religious enough?)
After all, they broadcast the whole thing live on line; I would think they WANT people to see it. IMO, that “form” of worship solicits mass viewing; those churches are usually in big arena/gym type venues and they like to broadcast them, they want to share with everyone. I know Pastor Pruitt has tweeted on twitter when Danny will be at faith builders or on via satellite.
I guess everyone is different; I didn’t feel like a stalker; I felt like I was sharing in the beauty that Danny was trying to bring to everyone. But religion is a deeply personal thing and different for everyone.
Although it may be one of those legal things, like if it was a taping of the performance and not a posted performance?
Also; no disrespect to those who feel otherwise!
Twitter: tonicny
I respect their wishes to take down the video but I have to let you know that I cannot get that video of Danny singing that beautiful song at the Oasis church and all the emotions out of my head. This man is so talented it was very moving to see his devotion and it only makes our love for him stronger. Just wanted to say that.
Amy great job on the T-shirt design. I will go check it out.
Pam had we known we should have done the Vegas trip but I am still happy to be going to COS.
Twitter: steph6449
re the church video, I don’t know. moot now, but it was made known by the church pastor well in advance that Danny would be singing yesterday, and he and his wife were tweeting about it repeatedly to include that it would be on their online livestream–which the church website says are typically posted later through their archive.
when I watched it yesterday, I watched the whole church service, didn’t just tune in to see Danny singing like it was an appearance at a club or something. I really don’t feel there is anything wrong with that. and yesterday, Oasis Church was on a fund-raising push for Haiti, I would guess they got some donations from increased online viewership with Danny there; I thought that was part of the purpose for his being there that particular day to support the church & its program.
to me, it seemed like the occasions when Danny has appeared at the Dream Center, which also does streaming from its services. and not like the occasion where he sang at FBIM in Milwaukee on New Year’s Eve, which was neither broadcast nor particularly highlighted by the church. had someone attending that church service brought a video camera, that would have been quite cheesy.
if they asked to take it down, maybe they rethought it, or they got haters coming after them. (so the haters win in this case, possibly, which would be a shame.) Danny also did get quite emotional the second service, and maybe that was a consideration although it was part of what made it so powerful for a lot of us.

aww, EvanFarmer: My interview with Danny Gokey airs this Friday! He’s about as genuine-a-guy as they come. I love seeing good people… http://bit.ly/acaMXF
Thanks Amy for the post about the Iheart shirt order. I will definitely being buying one or two in the next couple of days
. I can certainly understand the privacy issue regarding Danny singing at Oasis Church. I think everyone knows Danny will be a huge star, and with that comes the price of fame. Unfortunately, we all know too well that the media can put you on a pedestal one day and bring you down the next. I don’t blame Danny for wanting to maintain a little privacy. Thanks Josie for commenting to Country Weekly.

I love that meet and greet tickets are being sold for Danny concerts w/ $ going to SHF. That way you can meet Danny up close and also give to a very worthwhile charity. It’s a win/win situation imo. (As long as Danny is ok with it – it doesn’t wear him out too much). Of course, I’m always thinking of Danny’s endurance level – but I know he is a young man with a lot of energy! Hope this will be offered when he is in the Milwaukee area.
As far as the Oasis video, I can see both sides. I do agree with you Toni – loved Danny’s song with all its emotion. He is such a good role model for us and so mature for his young age.
Ellen, sounds like a fair trade off! I actually may be giving away some of signed headshots we got today in school. We got way more extra & I think I may be able to secure a couple for give away. I’ll notify everyone of that later.

Hi guys!
Here’s Danny rockin’ the Opry on March 13
Twitter: steph6449
Better watch that Opry video fast, they were quick to clamp down and have YT squash the videos when Danny was on in January.
I think this one is from the Tunica show.
I Can Only Imagine – partial
Twitter: steph6449
mil-fan, I think that last one is Jacksonville. nice to see a full view, after the first videos were all from a weird side angle, not that I didn’t still watch them at least once
Loved the Opry video. Thanks Steph6449. Wanted to re-listen to the church music, “He Love’s Me”, I think that was the name, so sad Amy had to take it down. I thought it was wonderful, but perhaps family felt that Danny’s expression of his faith left him too vulnerable to those who might not share his feelings.
Also in that clip of 2 days with Danny, he sang “I Can only Imagine” and noticed he changed it up some from when he sang it at Joyce Meyers. It was just beautiful. Love our Danny, man of faith and then too, so down to earth and cute and funny.
I sent Owlki pictures to post from the Rodeo Club in San Jose, March 2nd and Ex’pressions College in Emeryville March 19th. Although they are not all that great, not as good as Karen’s. But maybe better than nothing. It took me a couple of days to figure out how to e-mail them. My first time ever. lol I’ve learned a lot of stuff following our Danny as many of you have expressed too.
Have to go to a meeting. Have a great evening everyone. bye
Well, duh! Tunica was indoor wasn’t it. And that was definitely an outdoor video. Jacksonville it is! Thanks Steph

Steph, I just ran into the TV room and did my happy dance in front of my husband as he was watching “24″ when I read that Danny was going to be performing at Ho-chunk Casino on 5/27! Its about an hour North of Madison, never been there–I don’t gamble–but hey, another chance to see Danny perform!
Well, Ho-Chunk doesn’t have any info, nor could they confirm, but they still were sweet as pie. I’ll keep checking back to see if its for real and let you all know.
I wish I had a chance to see the second service at Oasis. I did watch the entire first service–since it was Palm Sunday, I enjoyed taking in a different religious service. It is important to respect Oasis’ wishes. I can never fathom the negative reactions they may have rec’d–there are some truly “injured” people out there.
Jan
One other Danny tidbit I ran into today. In the morning newspaper they had the top selling cd’s for the week ending March 21. For all genres Danny was listed #1 locally (Milwaukee) and #33 national. For the country chart he was #1 locally and #9 national. It helps so much when the cd’s are available in the stores
Jan – just got a picture in my head of you doing the happy dance in front of your husband lol! He probably thinks we’re all a bit goofy.
Twitter: jannworth
Just wanted to mention how the random hearing of MBDAAM on the radio can cause a smile to break across my face at any time….I was making the birthday dinner for my future daughter in law, when in the background I heard MBDAAM playing, I looked over my daughter’s head (who never noticed it) caught Melinda’s eye and we both smiled. Yup, I like that girl….
It was nice hearing Q106.3 playing My Best Days AA Me during a popular time of day. Yeah!!!
Jan
Jan, I cannot believe you ran infront of your husband while he was watching 24. Note from experience, no one ever wants to run near me or distract me when I’m watching 24. Haha. I hope you can go! That sounds like so much fun.
Twitter: jannworth
Milgokey, my husband actually has been amused/enjoying the heck out of the joy Danny’s music has brought into our house. I think it reminds him of that wacky young woman that he met many, many years ago. The one he knew before long hours at a job, a house, kids, ill parents (etc) sucked some of my energy and enthusiasm out of my general “joie de vivre”!
Well, he has seen the happy dance during some of this season’s best Packer games, too. I celebrated EVERY touchdown with a different dance performance…. fortunately the “kids” weren’t around. They would have known for sure that I had gone over the deep end! Jan
Twitter: jannworth
Steph, I contained myself until a commercial break came on! (fortunately my timing was good and I didn’t have to wait but a minute.) I might have had something thrown at me if I interrupted “24″ and it would have doused the happy dance!
Jan, I would know. I have a rage of a million gods when someone interrupts me when I watch 24. Haha. An exaggeration, but I’m sure you’ve experienced it. When will you know if you can go?
Twitter: steph6449
Jan, sent you a DM.
Nice watching that Opry video before the Opry lawyers get it shut down. Danny was so cute in that b&w outfit
The sound quality is good also, that is much more like what he sounded like in person vs. the tinny audio that came through the radio broadcast and made some of you think he didn’t sound good or was sick.
Twitter: jancute
Good Evening Ladies, Got some house moving this past days so I wasn’t able to visit this Dannyland site…
just saw the Oasis Church performance of Danny (on youtube), I don’t know why I cant find here at iheart, dont know the reason why though. but his performance just brought my jaw dropping! That is what you called Passion singing! my goodness! Danny just sang that with so much passion!
just also resend my recap to Jen so she can take a look at it and add her version or something…
just read Ellen’s recap! don’t worry Ellen, Im with you on fantasizing! LOL! Great recap! hope you like my recap when its posted here YAY!
hmm got me thinking this, so that one is at Nashville, I remember about the Faith Builders, how he sang their and then here at a new chuch… Is that a guesting performance or that is in a regular basis now? every sunday I guess?
Never did see the Oasis video, and that’s okay with me. I’m just glad that Danny and his family know that all they have to do is contact Amy or Erika to get something removed that they don’t want public.
(But somebody must have lurked if they knew it was up? Or the lurker reported it to Danny’s family?)
Either way, with all that goes on with the Internet, it’s nice to know that Danny & Co. have a good relationship with the iheart site. We all want what’s best for Danny and his family.
Twitter: pjgvet
Thanks, Milgokey, that opry video was very nice! Danny seemed very relaxed. Good sound quality.
Jan, I’m pretty sure that Ho Chunk is on; they have it on their website and had that tickets were available now via ticketmaster.
I debated for a moment; but Baraboo is a 2 hour drive for me and I work a 10 hour day Thurs and Friday so I put the brakes on, lol. Now if it would have been a Fri or Sat eve….
Those pictures from Fox30 are VERY nice! Am I bad if I say I love the contrast between a pinkish tee and a tattoo peaking out from the sleeve
Twitter: pjgvet
Well, how odd that the Oasis is up at utube.
Maybe iheart could DM Danny so he knows its there and get it taken down if they want to.
Ellen, the performance was public; it was broad cast live on the net. And I think Steph thought it may be archived for later viewing at the Oasis site?
Danny told Marilyn he doesn’t read our posts; but maybe a rep of his checks the site out, to see what his best fan site out there is thinking…….
Twitter: steph6449
Pam, you’re slipping if you can’t get to see Danny when he’s just 2 hrs aaway and there’s two months advance time to plan, lol!
And which picture could you possibly be meaning, hmm
Twitter: pjgvet
Toni-
Aren’t we lucky we have so many choices to see Danny?
I know his set won’t be super long being one of the openers for Sugarland, but it will be great being there; I think that will be a pretty momentous occasion for him.
Twitter: pjgvet
Steph, you’re a bad influence
Now that you put it that way………..
And yes, everyone, if you haven’t checked out the Sharon Wilbur pics Steph linked to ….you need to.
Danny+ guitar+ teeshirt = wow.
Twitter: steph6449
the YT is where it was originally linked to from here. I kind of hope whomever approached Amy wasn’t also asking to have it taken off there, but whatever they prefer I guess.
taking the videos down strikes me actually as quite contrary to what they were even saying in the church service about being open to everyone & “bringing in all the fish” (religious metaphor) no matter which fish/from where, and letting it sort itself without judging whoever came in and why. just my opinion.
the Oasis site supposedly does put its broadcasts online for later playback, but haven’t looked to see if this one was posted. I had trouble finding where they had done it for earlier dates, though there were podcasts at their site.
Pam, I think maybe a church member or friend saw the video and alerted the family. I know that Danny told Marilyn he doesn’t lurk, and I can hazard a guess why (aside from busyness).
Even though the performance was streamed and therefore was “public” in one sense, that doesn’t mean that the church and/or Danny don’t get to control the memorialization of the performance as a video. There is a distinction there.
It really doesn’t matter now; the important thing is that we’re on a site that respects Danny and his family and their wishes.
Twitter: steph6449
CMT also has a post with the ACM concert info

@countryweekly is getting probably at least three times as many requests for Danny on the cover as other suggestions. Lee Ann Womack seems to have some active twitter fans as well.
Twitter: jancute
Ladies, the youtube video was from MsOwlki, is that Erika? Our Erika here? hmm actually don’t know whats wrong with that about broadcasting that one but maybe for Danny, theres an excemption because of the past history of Danny from AI… But I should say this again, Danny has too much amazing chops to sing a church song, oh my oh my… the passion and conviction is oozing from his body and I like singing in churches (Catholic Church)
Twitter: pjgvet
Oh, I agree Ellen; of course we need to respect Danny’s wishes!
I guess I had been thinking it could have been his management instead of Danny/church members- they do control what Danny sings in “public” to some extent.
That thought just crossed my mind, because, as I alluded to earlier and Steph paraphrased more nicely; is that generally those types of Churches like to “fish” wherever and however they can to bring as many people as possible to their message, so it just seemed out of character to me.
Are you saying Danny would be embarrassed by things we say sometimes here (re lurking)- I would concur!
Twitter: pjgvet
I tweeted for Danny on the cover of CW
And I hope he wins the hot bachelor contest too.
Hey Gokey Guy; missed you, did you have to move or were you helping someone else move?
Twitter: pjgvet
Lol, Danny! How many tweets do you think he received about the spelling on this one:
“Hello Milwaukee. Your prodical son has come home.”
There was a little article in the paper about him coming home for that, similar to the online one but had a picture. My partner cut it out for me! She is bemused by my Danny obsession, but she did seem impressed that he was the #1 selling artist in Milwaukee last week! I didn’t know what she meant until you posted those statistics above, Milgokey, Thanks!
Twitter: jancute
Pam – hey there, yes we moved to a new house YAY! well just a couple of miles from our old one and its only a rent LOL! yes I missed you too and everyone here… sorry if my recap is still not here, gotta wait for Jen cuz I know she will add something to that recap, sorry in advance cuz maybe yall get confused with the wordings LOL!
hmm Pam let me guess, the word “Prodical” is spelled wrong huh??? Is that supposed to be “prodigal? not sure on that but I think thats it right? Its not Milwaukee for sure LOL!
Twitter: steph6449
Pam, I only saw a couple. Maybe the rest were too nice to tell Danny, or they thought it was spelled “prodigle”
Twitter: jancute
That is goes to show that Danny is a person that makes simple mistakes unlike some artists I know! hmp!! Thats why we loved Danny so much! his mistakes are adorable! how weird is that? LOL!
Gokeyguy, yes, it’s spelled “prodigal.” Haha. I was laughing a bit. But I love Danny & I would never call him out on that.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Danny when I do homework. & oh my goodness at that photo of Danny with the guitar. THAT WAS SO FINE.
Twitter: jancute
Hey Stephoo! LOL! lets just say Danny is in a hurry when he did that tweet! LOL! nobody is perfect though but there is an exemption cuz his voice is perfection! and gotta to admit right? his mistakes are adorable! Yes, I also saw the videoblog, I guess Danny learned how to key the G YAY!!!!
Twitter: pjgvet
Stephfoo; that was fine, I agree
Danny is no ordinary WGWG
Finally heard the “Pray for You ” song tonight. I don’t hear much of a twang if any in that guy’s voice.
Also sounded more pop than country to me. Not that thats a bad thing! Just sayin…
It was cute in a funny kind of way, but doesn’t deserve to shoot up the charts IMO; more of a gimmick song.
Gokeyguy, I agree. Seriously, no one is perfect, but his voice is something close to it! Haha. & besides, if it was from his iPhone, I know how much of a bench it could be to type on that thing!
pjgvet, girl, I know, right? Whoo, he looked fine. I remember somewhere that he says he plays right? I think he should start playing with one!
& so I was listening to “Tiny Life” & I just can’t help but openly say how much I truly love that song. In someways, it beats IWNSGB for me. I love everything “Tiny Life” represents & it was the first song I truly loved when I first heard from Danny. & the fact the first time I heard it wasn’t a studio version is not common for me. Also just wanted to express thanks to all those who are voting. Really, really, really appreciate it. If you guys can just keep it going during the day time tomorrow & Wednesday, I’ll take care of the rest until April 10 cause I’ll be out for Spring Break! Yay!
I’m glad I got to see the Oasis video before it was taken down–I saw the one of Danny singing “How He Loves Us,” which is one of my daughter’s favorites, originally done by David Crowder Band.
It was the first time I had seen Danny do praise & worship-leading, and as a Christian, it was wonderful, because my soul resonated with Danny’s spirit in that song. It was very moving. So obvious that his faith is real and genuine.
I’m sure hate-tards wouldn’t get it at all, though, and would probably make fun of it.
Ellen B, loved your recap.
Grandmaster, I know…it just drives me nuts when the judges on AI are so inconsistent.
I’m still in Texas visiting family until a few days after Easter. Still enjoying so much being with my relatives here…it will be so hard to tear myself away from my adorable little grandsons, Payton (3) and Josiah (4 months.)
Back to reality when I get home…including serious job-hunting. Lord, give me strength!
Twitter: pjgvet
Cindy, so glad you are enjoying great weather and family in Texas!
Stephfoo, yes I am also in the minority in that I like Tiny Life more than IWNSGB.
But I think critics all say its his best song (IWNSGB) and we all hope its a huge hit for him!
Very late for me! Good nite all!
pjgvey, yay! I honestly really love “Tiny Life.” It’s just so amazing. Well, I really hope IWNSGB becomes his next hit. It is also amazing, but I am just saying that “Tiny Life” is aslo something that should be kept in mind. I was just totally daydreaming about a music video possibility for “Crazy Not To.” I think it’d be the cutest thing ever. Of course, I am dreaming that I’m the girl though. HAHA. But I am serious! Good night!
Twitter: jancute
Hey Cindy! glad I catched you here LOL!
Stephoo! Honestly, my first love Danny song is Its Only, its not that because its the first one we heard but I love everything about it, i always imagine singing that song with Danny! YAY! kinda weird but it is what it is LOL!
Twitter: BLfolsom
Good evening everybody, hope today was a good one!
Ellen, really enjoyed your recap; thank you for putting in so much time and effort.
The article you cited was a very interesting one. I agree with Ms. Grant-Williams on several points; the use of only one dynamic – forte, meaning loud. Her point on riffs is very valid too; if you recall, Danny used riffs as an addendum or additive to a song to enhance the melody and/or express emotion at the climax of the tune. The best example of this is CROCS – think his growl, and the lyrics “…maybe cloudy…” when he bent the pitch on the word “maybe.” Very effective; or WHTM on the lyrics “so clooose…” Another good example – September – “there never was a cloudy daaaayyyay yeah.” Lots of notes in that one word that enhance the story.
He never overdid it, but when he did use them, it was done really, really, really, well.
Also his use of dynamics (loudness or softness), he’d start out piano (soft), build to mezzo forte (mf – medium loud), then just killed it at the end with a beautiful forte (f – loud); think YASB.
I think Siobhans (sp?) scream is getting old because it has no tonal center. Bear with me, when you hear Danny or Adam scream think of throwing a meatball at the wall; you get some splatter but the core of the meat remains intact. Now, with Siobahan (typo-sorry) think an egg, her tone just goes splat on the wall. Don’t mean to sound witchy, it’s just my impression. Simon is correct when he said she needed to pull other gimmicks out of herself so she doesn’t become predictible.
My kids really like her; sorry, don’t mean to offend if you like her, it’s just my opinion.

I meant predictable…geez, I better hit the ZZZZzzzz…._____
Gokeyguy, well, “It’s Only” was mixed feelings for me. For one, I liked the message, it was very Danny. But then I felt it was missing something. But when they added that last tidbit to the bridge, I felt it was finished. It’s a great song & I love it now, but “Tiny Life” really got me. & I still love “I Still Believe.”
& okay guys, sorry for annoying you all, but this will only go until April 10 anyways, so please vote for me if you haven’t yet! http://bit.ly/9haVtO Thank you!
Cindy S.,
How weird that you posted today. I was thinking about you a lot yesterday. I hope you know that we’re praying for you!
I know you won’t see this, (since it is later where you are), but maybe I’ll re-post it tomorrow.
Billie,
I agree, in theory, with a lot of what Ms. Grant-Williams said, although I think she needs to be flexible in her approach. Loud is not intrinsically bad, but if that’s all a singer does, I, for one, would suffer from listener fatigue pretty quickly.
I am fascinated by your comments, Billie. You seem to know a lot about music. More than I do, anyway!
Would the “darling” in “Stand By Me” be another example? How about “all the happiness you stole” in the acoustic version of “Be Somebody?” What about the riffs in “Dance Little Sister?” (I think I may be mixing a couple of different concepts here, but hopefully you know what I mean.)
Danny can sing both soft and loud, and I think the best example of that is CROCS.
Also fascinated by your description of Siobhan’s scream as having “no tonal center.” I wonder if that is similar to Bosman’s description of the scream as “narrow?” I’m sure my recruitment problem is part of the reason that I felt assaulted by Siobhan’s scream. But I have never felt that way when Danny or Adam screamed. (I’ve occasionally thought that some of Adam’s screams were self-indulgent, but I never felt assaulted by them.) Because my hearing loss occurred as a child, I really have no idea what things like Siobhan’s scream sounds like to people with normal hearing. I think I get your meatball analogy; I’m less sure about the egg, although I think I still get the gist of your point.
