    Have a safe trip, Pam. Thanks for the voting reminders, Latrece. They are a necessary evil, because Danny is counting on us all to have his back. Keeping his name out there in the spotlight is a must.

    I am thinking of making a couple more purchases too. Will be seeing some family over Easter, and am thinking I can find some homes for those CDs. Danny needs the sales.

    Am hoping he does well at the GOO tonight. He is a pro now.

    Enjoyed seeing that video of him on True Country. He didn’t even catch on that she was floundering all over him. So Gokey!

    Hi to all Ihearties!

    Pam, enjoy your weekend and travel safely! I haven’t yet received the CD and neither have I received my order from Amazon.. My boyfriend seemed to have lost his last order from Amazon and I’m starting to worry that my order has been stolen on it’s way.. Haven’t lost all my hope yet.

    Anyhow, great to see Danny still holding on to good positions on the major charts! I had to stay away for couple of days, because I’m too busy at work and was getting too into all things Danny.. Following the various charts and following the news and the comments just got a bit too much for me in the middle of a hectic daily schedule.

    I haven’t been able to listen to Danny’s album for couple of days and this morning I was really looking forward to listen to it and I just love that album. Danny’s vocals are just so amazing and I totally agree with Claudia and Bosman on the comments they made on “Like That’s a Bad Thing”. That song is actually one of my favourites on the album, though I have yet not made up my mind in which order to put the songs.

    I wish you all a lovely weekend. I’ll be back here latest tomorrow.

    Danny’s single is #30 on the mediabase chart this morning, but Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert are very close behind. I won’t be surprised if they pass him this weekend, since they are coming up quickly and I think (?unless they plan his song again?) that Danny could lose the Crook & Chase spins he had last Satuardy.

    But I hope at least two, maybe three songs go recurrent so it won’t matter, and he’ll still be in the top 30 when the week wrapup charts close out. I don’t see that anyone else behind Danny is likely to pass him for a while. Easton Corbin’s song is all the way at #2, that would be nice for him to get a #1 single even though Danny was so far ahead on the album sales.

    What a great idea, Danny’s CD in Easter baskets – perfect.

    Danny’s song is still #30 on the 7 day rolling chart, up 243 spins but Jason Aldean’s and Miranda Lambert’s new songs may leap from him before the published chart comes out. Hopefully he will hold on to his spot from the weekend countdown shows – we will see. There are at two songs, Kellie Pickler’s and Toby Keith’s that should go recurrent.

    thanks for that link to the other birdhouse auctions, I was wondering about that. Danny is way up there isn’t he :) even when his was up to ~$500-550 recently, I guess it was still toward or at the top of the lists.

    That would be Orange Beach AL Amphitheather at the Wharf from the Sugarland schedule. Had been thinking Danny could be at this one since there was a mention he’d be in Atlanta with Little Big Town August 5th.

    Thanks for the reminder, Milgokey. I’ll have to check out the “other” Madison country radio station to hear the Kix Brooks countdown with Danny on Sunday night. For those wondering why 96.3 in Madison has added MBDAAM, they are a more “traditional” country radio station that play the top 20 over and over and over….Whereas, the other station Q106.3 is non-traditional and have been playing Danny for months. Sometimes more than others, but the DJs really are supportive of Danny and his music. And they answer their phone!! My husband laughs that he’s surprised they haven’t blocked my cell phone number yet….. Jan

    I just watched the Radiothon videos. Danny is just so adorable. He sang Back at One and was talking to the audience about Brandon’s wife singing with Carrie Underwood, then he said but this is all about Danny Gokey now, right, then he smiled. He’s too cute. Gotta love that sweetheart of a guy. How can anyone not love Danny Gokey.

    Hannele, Like That’s a Bad Thing it’s definitely one of my favorites songs of the album and just like you i can’t decide in which order i love the songs..each one it’s so good it’s really hard to decide. For me it’s like every time i hear the whole album my favorite song changes lol

    I read something recently (maybe on that USAToday rundown of last year’s top 13) that said Alexis may be thinking of country. She has a little of that Dolly Parton look about her (certain features aside of course, lol), but she seemed more like a would-be rocker on the show.

    Country is a community. Once you are in, the fellow artist generally look out for one another and are respectful of one another. Totally unlike the pop/rock scene, where someone is always cutting someone else down.

    KA and AG would be smart to pursue. Alexis, in particular. I do believe she would do really well.

    IMO the pop field is over rated and over populated.

    I believe Danny will be at Boston and Hartford, and ~possibly (?) Cleveland though I haven’t seen that confirmed anywhere. Don’t think he is at the other two but could be wrong.

    Hi everyone – just got back from a Milwaukee Target. MBD has two slots on the New Release end display. Both slots were empty. I checked the hot seller aisle display and did not see a slot for Danny. The country section had a separate divider with his name on it but no cd’s. The divider was tucked behind the “G” divider so I put it out front so everyone could see it! I asked the clerk when they thought more cd’s would come in. They weren’t sure. He said they only got the initial shipment in and then it takes up to a week to get more (not completely accurate, read on). I told them they are missing out on a lot of sales. He agreed and said four people had already asked about it just this morning. When I checked out, the cashier asked if I had found everything ok. I said, “yes, except for Danny Gokey’s cd.” She said they had some yesterday and the day before but they only get 6 or 7 in at a time and they sell right away! Is this just a Target problem or are Walmart, Best Buy and other stores selling out also? At this rate he should continue to have steady sales for some weeks to come. What do you think?

    That’s great that the MBD’s cd is selling that fast. I just hope that people don’t give up after trying a couple of stores. It’s so frustrating. I can’t understand why they are only getting 6 or 7 cds at a time.

    These are all indications as in his CDs selling quickly, high bids on the birdhouse that his popularity is getting gooder and gooder. I wonder if the highest bidder will be an iheart fan. I have never followed anyone from the start of their career so its been exciting,I am so happy and proud that I chose Danny to be the first. On itunes he is up to 4 stars and we really need to get him to 5 stars but at least no bad comments visible a few hours ago. Besides itunes and amazon where else can one go and rate the CD. Ever since I started to listen to country again because of Danny I am actually really liking some of the new artists and today I purchased quite a few songs from itunes. Also loving several of Sugarland songs and therefore makes it more exciting to be going to their concerts. Have a great rest of the day.

    Milgokey, from what I have seen, the “sold out” problem is still in a lot of places. I think Danny is going to continue to have strong sales. It’s a really good album, and him having the best male country debut since 1992 is going to make a lot of people curious about it. I think even word-of-mouth alone is going to make a lot of sales for him, and that will accelerate as the initial burst of sales from the AI fanbase tapers off. To the extent he has additional national promo opportunities, that will help too. That’s what I think.

    We are heading out to the coast in a little while here. I hope to be able to catch Danny’s GOO appearance later, and I will probably BBL. Everyone have a great day!

    It’s been a while since my marketing class but I do kind of wonder if this is some kind of marketing strategy to keep supply low to increase demand because of the “buzz” of being in short supply.

    VC – I don’t think most people would give up. I think once they do see it available they will snatch it up! They’d be ‘Crazy Not To’!

    Toni – that birdhouse thing is really something. Even Danny’s birdhouse views are much higher than everyone else :)

    I think many artist wish they could be in Danny’s position of not having stocked shelves. And I think it will make those consumers who can’t get a copy – even the more curious.

    We often talk about haters and certain people not liking Danny, but Danny got applauded this week across the media and industry with having the best debut by a male country artist since 1992, as well has having the most digital downloads sold by a debut Country act – ever.

    And I agree with Josie – I think that will make people inherently curious – especially those who are non-fans.

    I know people were also concerned about the lack of national promotion for Danny. To me, the great headlines that Danny got from Billboard, Rolling Stones, HDD, even EW and Prez Hilton among many others – is part of national promotion. Just like the talk show circuit is part of national promotion.

    Betty, some of the nicest people I’ve ever known (I feel like I know them) are here on IHeart Danny Gokey. We just go a little “crazy” about Danny. Like a mother Cub. Please don’t feel like you cannot express yourself. We must all learn to be more tolerant of others opinions.

    Betty, I think I remember several I Hearties saying that sometimes we get carried away over Danny. Can’t remember names but I do remember several saying that they want varied opinions (even if not popular) so we aren’t all the same.

    I know Ellen and even I said we agree with you, that it’s good when Danny speaks better. My mother corrected me almost every day of my life on my English. But I still can’t remember to say you and I or is it you and me? And I get lost at the use of when to use who or whom.

    Danny is a person that wants to be the best he can be that God created him to be. I’m sure he wants to express himself in such a way that no one could be critical.

    Please be forgiving and continue to post here. We are all important here and I for one think it’s not good when one person feels offended. Because then one by one we will leave, but together as a whole, undivided, we can all pull together and help Danny be more successful.

    Hope you will change your mind. My mother always gave me permission to change my mind and always told me, “Only a jackass doesn’t change it’s mind! lol Maybe she said that because I was such a stubborn person.

    Betty, not sure whether you’ll see this. On a number of occasions, I have posted views that were not popular, and I have felt like I got “ganged up” on. But then I realized that we’re just of lot of individual people sitting before our computers expressing or thoughts. I’d refresh the page, and see a bunch of responses contrary to my comment, and sometimes it felt overwhelming. But those other folks are not necessarily aware of each other’s posts; in many cases, they are typing their thoughts at the same time. I learned a while back that if I wanted to stay on iheart, I was going to have to learn to let a lot of stuff roll off my back. And in a weird way, those experiences encouraged me to be more forthright in my own posts.

    I would encourage you, Betty — for your own sake and regardless of whether you choose to post on iheart again — to take a deep breath and let it go. Life is too short.

    I also sincerely hope that you won’t let your feelings about iheart affect how you feel about Danny.

    (P.S.) I agree with you on the grammar issue, and said so in a post a few days ago.

    Feeling nostalgic today so went back to listen to all of Danny’s songs in the audition, Hollywood week, and through last season’s shows. I’m just amazed all over again at his voice, the soul that comes through the songs, and his magnetism. There’s just no one like him!

    Not sure whether this is a good time to post — I think everyone is involved with real life, which I will join shortly! But I want to share this story, and hope to get responses on what you all think.

    One goal this weekend is to scope out the local supply of Danny CDs. These are mostly stores I would be shopping at anyway, so it won’t hurt to check out the music section, right?

    Anyway, I went to the local Target last night. Danny was not in the country section, although I noticed that Easton Corbin has his own name tag there, whereas Danny doesn’t. (But Adam also doesn’t have his own name tag in the pop/rock section). Then I spotted Danny on the bottom of the new release section. There were 10 CDs.

    I then started looking in the “Bestsellers” section, which is divided by type of music and has a country section. I overheard two young women trying to decide on what to get. They rattled off a few names of country artists. Then I heard one of them ask, “What about that guy from American Idol?” My ears perked up!

    Well, they were looking at country artists, so I thought maybe they were thinking about Danny. I went up to them and asked, “Do you mean Danny Gokey?” The woman responded, “Yes. I liked him when he was on American Idol.” (I got the impression that she was referring to Season 8, but maybe also to Danny’s recent Idol appearance. She at least expected that Danny had a CD out.)

    I smiled and said, “Follow me!” I led them to Danny’s CD, and one of the women picked up a copy. I mentioned that Danny’s CD was hard to find when it first came out last week. The woman asked me, “Do you have the CD?” “Yes,” I responded. “Is it good?” By now I’m wondering what to say. Do I just admit I’m a rabid fan? I said, “Yes, it’s awesome.” But I had to be honest, so I added, “It depends on what you like. If you like really traditional country, you might not like this. It’s modern soul country.” (I’d seen them eying Lady A, so I thought it was safe to admit that.) I also added that there was a lot of variety on the CD, so that they shouldn’t expect a theme, where all the songs sound similar. They appeared to like the idea that there was variety on the CD.

    Next they asked If I’d heard Lady A’s new album. I said no, but that I had their first album. I mentioned a few artists who are on my “to be purchased” list, figuring that would give them some idea of my taste.

    Then I asked, “Did you know Danny is performing in Portland on St. Patrick’s Day?” (Totally giving away my fandom there!) I would have given them two of my tickets if they were interested. But they said they were from Eugene, and couldn’t go. (Eugene is a solid 2-hour drive from Portland.)

    Eventually they walked off, and one of the young women had the CDs of Danny Gokey and Lady Antebellum clutched in her hand. I didn’t actually stand over them while they checked out, but I’m pretty sure that Danny made a sale!

    I find this story funny, because I am the world’s worst salesperson. But I do think I made a small contribution to clinching that sale! And now I don’t feel so bad about lurking in the music sections of my local stores!

    (P.S.) Freddie’s has 7 copies of MBD. Will check out Wal-Mart this weekend to see whether they got more in. (They sold out last Friday.)

    Hi ihearties,

    I just got back from shopping for shoes in the woman’s department I think I have survived. LOL It was a mad house today in Dillard’s and DSW but I found what I was looking for.

    Just breezing through and wanted to add something about the CD’s. At WalMart they were out again, yesterday (Friday). His name divider was not evan there, so I asked. Manager said they get so many in then they are gone. That kind of makes me wonder if this being “out” may be a push to sell more. Goodness anything is possible, maybe the stores do not want to over buy as a cost to them issue.? Still, MilGokey why not enough in Danny’s hometown? It is strange but the buzz is still there and I think will continue. Here is to 100,000. :)

    Is Kris thinking of moving over to country is that good information? I do not think that is going to be good, will be taken wrong, concerns me.

    Okay, so I’m back.

    The reason I am so put out about what happened is that I was was not even being critical.

    I’m a Danny fan, or I wouldn’t be here. Someone had mentioned earlier that Danny hadn’t been on the major talk shows. I was wondering why others were invited and he wasn’t. The only thing I could think of was his grammar skills. This is something that can for the most part be easily remedied, or I wouldn’t have mentioned it at all.

    Danny expects the best of himself, so why wouldn’t all of us want that for him? Someone said that you correct your children’s grammar, but Danny is fine the way he is. Isn’t that a putdown?

    I don’t think there are any plans for Kris to go Country. To begin with, his record label, Jive, is not a Country music label. Their target market has always been the young, MTV pop/rock/hip hop crowd. The only way would be if Kris gets dropped from his label and decides to go Country. But if he is dropped, I don’t think he will be picked up by a major Country label.

    In all 8 seasons, Danny is the only male Idol signed to a major Country label. Bucky Covington, Josh Gracin, Phil Stacey were all signed to small, independent labels.

    So no worries about Danny and backlash. 19E and RCA Nashville must be very pleased with his results this week. If there is any backlash, I actually think Kris would get more of it, since he has always presented himself as pop singer. And there is no trace of anything Country on his album.

    I AM G, I post at TWOP also from time to time and there is a lot less hate on Danny’s thread there than there used to be. In fact, very little to be honest, which is great. Seems like some Kris fans are feeling a little bitter over Danny’s success and don’t understand why Kris has suffered from low album sales. But as Maryann says, pop/rock is an entirely different animal than country and it’s a lot harder to be successful in that genre. It’s a snakepit while country is more of a community and more accepting of newcomers. That said, I’m still more of a pop/rock fan but I’m making an exception for Danny, who has no twang, thank goodness.

    BETTY, SO glad you are back! Honestly, there are times when I have felt dissed at iheart (whether intended or unintended), but I’ve learned to just go with the flow. Occasionally, I need to take a little break. I won’t say anything, I’ll just stay away for a few days. And when I come back, I’m all right. If you feel uncomfortable and need to leave for a while, do it! But come back! You would be amazed at how well time works to reset your equilibrium!

    Betty I saw that you were considering not posting or lurking amymore. Glad to see you changed your mind. I know I was on site the other day during at least part of the conversation about grammar. I’m not sure how that whole conversation started, or ended, but I know I gave an opinion about Danny’s grammar and how I thought it was a reflection of his background and would change as time goes on and he gets more exposure to interviews. I can’t remember everything that was said but I do remember their were varying opinions. I hope there wasn’t anything I said that upset you. If there was, I do apologize.

    I don’t know if you were lurking at times in the past when people have had differences of opinion and it caused some hurt and regret. Dee and I can speak firsthand about how sometimes things are said that initially cause hurt feelings, but we worked it out and came to the realization that we cared too much about each other, all the ihearties and Danny to let it fester.

    I have come to the conclusion for myself that everyone has opinions that matter and we should always feel free to voice them, without feeling like we are being targeted or attacked. So if that ever happens, it is a good thing to let each other know when we feel hurt, but also understand that no one here would EVER intentionally cause hurt to a fellow Iheartie. There is a lot of love and support here and we all share our love for Danny. So, I’m so glad you are staying and we are not going to lose one of our Ihearties!! :)

    This is about the cd supply in the Milwaukee area.

    I tried to get the cd on Target on Tuesday and they told me that most stores were out of it in the Milwaukee area at 9/10 in the morning already. There were two other people in the store wondering where it was when I was there. The store clerk checked it out by scanner it see if other stores in the area had any and she told me there were only 2/3 stores with any left. By the time I was able to get to another store they were all gone. I wasn’t able to find one until Saturday and that was in Lake Geneva. You can check on bestbuy.com to see what’s available at the store. Here’s what they have left for Wisconsin: Eau Claire, Lake Geneva, Kenosha, Delafield, Janesville(i’m not sure about that one though), East and West Towne Madison. There’s two Walmarts that now have them in stock on S27th St-27th Oklahoma has approx 20 left they had 50 the other days. 27th/College has approx 100-150 in stock so that would be place to get it at in case anyone still can’t find it since it’s still selling out. I’m positive the stores around have received more shipments it’s just not lasting. Target gave out alot of rain checks since it was on sale last week. So I don’t think they’re going to keep in on the shelves for long.

    I just noticed something while WSM has been running live I have been looking at TV listings on the Guide. Thinking that just in case they run the Opry live, sometimes they do. Just saw they have the Opry running LIVE at 8 pm.! I do not know what this means so check it out on GAC at 8 central for us.     Hi Vickie No the laptop`s not fixed, but my daughter and I have a double user account, and it`s only mine that is affected, so I`m using her email and accessing Twitter etc through that, confusing, but it works-Just worried that I`m going to lose some precious DMs on Monday when they `wipe` the computer-hopefully, they`ll reinstall- Do I take it I`ve been listening to Danny when I could have been watching him?     The Opry show that I’m watching is one that was recorded a while ago. Not sure when. I hope that the computer guy can save your information on your computer. I know how upsetting that can be when it’s all wiped off and there is no way to retrieve it. I know you will be so happy when it’s all fixed and back to normal, along with no lost info.

    Hi VC, Danip, Milgokey, and all others. I just got back from watching Alice in Wonderland and dinner with my family (see, I can do other things…)

    However, since my husband and I did have to drive separately, and I was picking up our son at his house. I did a tour of the MBD supply at our local Shopkos. None left on the North side of Madison and I bought the last one at East Towne. (I need a stash for gifts. I have never bought so many of the same CD in my entire life.)They must be going like hotcakes! Also, on the drive to the theater, I had just turned off my IPod when my son got in the car, and he turned it back on and selected Be Somebody. Love that boy. Melinda must be playing the copy of gave her at his house….

    Betty, I’m glad you’re back. Please don’t feel ganged up on. Its just fierce love of Danny that gets us overly protective. I think you should know that you are loved, as is Bosman, or me or whomever when we get in a “lively” exchange. It was worse last fall, believe me. Also, If I could stamp out the “me and my wife/son/friend” expression in our current society, I would. But I don’t think its going anywhere anytime soon. I just silently celebrate when I hear it correctly stated.

    By the way, I loved Alice in Wonderland, and I wasn’t a big fan of the book. But then, I really like the director, Tim Burton.

    Also, what did Danny “miss” in his performance, I came back after it was over.

    Thanks, will he be singing the same two songs? I really wanted to hear him sing IWNSG. I’m glad that he wasn’t as nervous. His poor voice is being over worked lately, I’m surprised that he can sing as well as he has been, without completely losing his voice. He and his voice are like the energizer bunny, he just keeps on going.

    After listening to Danny at Grand Ole Opry he sounded ALOT less nervous than last time but his voice really needs a rest. I know he has a few days of rest coming up but he really needs not to talk to rest he voice (ha ha like that is going to happen). Hope his bandmates keep him quiet and supplied with lots and lots of his tea.

    Going back to family business so I will be missing the 2nd show. Assuming someone will record (hint hint)

    Danny sounded awesome except for the last note. Wonder what happened – have never heard him miss that note before. Do you think he was just emotional, or nervous or do you think he needs to rest his voice? Danny is such a perfectionist that I am sure he is not happy he missed the note at the Opry when he sings that song over and over everyday and always hits it.

    I think that Danny just needs to rest his voice. I think that his voice is probably tired and a bit strained. I enjoyed his AI performance, but I think that his voice was strained in some parts in it. I think that he needs to get a few days of vocal rest if he can. But I don’t know if he will be able to to do that, since he is constantly doing lots of concerts.

    Maybe there are some ways where he can learn to take care of his voice better. I think that Adam knows some tricks about taking care of his voice, maybe Danny can learn some as well. Especially since he is constantly giving performances. And he’s going on tour soon.

    I missed the first show, I am getting excited to hearing Danny on the Opry stage just like as if I was there. I sure hope he will be back on that stage in the future since I would love to see him perform live at the Opry. VC mentioned it a few posts back but he really has been going like the energizer
    bunny and he appears to be the type of person that if he is not performing he misses it. He will come back strong. Can’t wait to hear him

    Thx LuluGokey for recording that, Danny sounded awesome until that climatic last note. He seemed to be right at the top of his chest voice and then he broke into his head voice(at least I think that’s what happened). That’s a fine line to walk with vocalists ’cause you don’t want to strain to much, it’ll really mess up those vocal cords over time. Our music director at church had to have surgery several years ago for nodes that formed on his cords, poor thing was out of comission for a few months.

    On another note, I’m listening to Matty G. as I type; it was so good to see him and Scott again on the AI stage the other night.

    Hi everyone. I missed the first show, but made it here in time to listen to the second, got it on now.

    My husband finally got to listen to Danny’s whole album on the way here, and he LOVED it. Thought it was unbelievable how many awesome songs are on it. He wanted to listen to it again when we got here, and we listened until it was time to start up the Opry show. I knew it was a really strong album the first time I heard it, but it’s nice to hear that validated over and over! Especially from a person who is going to be hearing it a lot. ;)

    I saw someone said Danny has a few days off now, I’m glad he will have some time to hopefully relax. It has been quite an intense time for him! Mostly joyful I would think, and he seems to have a tremendous amout of energy, but I’m sure even he needs a break sometime!

    Why would fans (as opposed to hate-tards) tweet Danny that he didn’t sound so good, unless it was to express worry that he wasn’t resting his voice enough?

    I listened to the first Opry session, and he sounded fine, except for the one note where it sounded like his voice cracked or something. But it didn’t detract from the rest of the song (or from MBD, which had nothing wrong with it, as far as I could tell). Were these fans in attendance at the Opry? Because from the recorded version, there is only the one bad note.

A little bit more gravelly in places, but he sounded good. He sounded and looked great on that livestream yesterday.     “Love the song. You made me cry this time so I guess we are even. It really touched me. You are correct as it being a birthday song. Played it over and over in the car today. Seems I know every word by heart now.

    “Will have to listen to the other songs on this album. Hope they are as good as this one. It should be a hit.”

    Erika, Danny has two events on March 17th. One is at 99.5 The Wolf in Portland. I’m assuming that’s a private performance for the DJs. The other Portland radio station, 98.7 (KUPL) is sponsoring the Bushwhackers concert.

    Erika, while I was trying to upload the video from BestBuy, my desktop caught a nasty virus and compromised my email and my husband was thinking it was probably from sendspace.com (we’re not sure though). If you receive any email from me, please do not respond to it. Apparently, I’ve been sending emails about medicines from Canada/Mexico without my knowledge.
