Thanks rowansmom, I enjoyed reading your scenario earlier and I am so glad you get to go to Danny concert.

Great to learn that DC will be on next week results.

Billie, it is not only the strength of Danny’s sound that impresses me. Yes, strength is there and that is impressive, but rather it is the transfer between the straight, flat tone and the tone with vibrato. In high notes, Danny usually starts with a straight tone and then infuses some vibrato in it. It is so pleasing.

No wonder I consider Danny as my best male vocalist.

Hi everyone! I’ve been out of the loop for the past few days, because I’m spending some time with my family in Texas, so sorry if this has already been addressed. But here it is:

I AM SO ANNOYED WITH WAL-MART!!!

When I went to try to pick Danny’s CD up at Wal-Mart in Rockford, it was March 4th, and they didn’t have it. The salesperson said, “Sometimes we get new releases a little late.”

I ended up getting it at Best Buy (it was sold out at Target.)

Well, down here in Texas, I wanted to buy one for my mom. She LOVES Danny’s voice, and I’ve played her a few songs off the CD and she loves them.

At Wal-Mart in Round Rock, Texas, there was no Danny CD.

So I asked someone about it and they looked on the computer. “Says here it’s only available on Walmart.com.”

I just asked very pointedly, “WHY?”

The guy replied, somewhat huffily, “Because the stores have limited space, and walmart.com has vast resources.”

I think it’s ridiculous that you can’t buy a Danny Gokey CD at a Wal-Mart, when his debut was the best-selling country album by a male artist in 18 years. What the heck!?!

And is it the same at other Wal-Marts? Because if so, wouldn’t physical sales of the CD been a lot higher if people could go into their Wal-Mart store and buy it?

It is just REALLY annoying.

Bosman, I totally agree with your comment earlier about Dannys head voice (upper register). He’s got one of the strongest sounds I’ve ever heard in all my years singing/playing.

Bosman–
I don’t know if I told you recently how much I appreciate your posts and your being here. You have such a beautiful way with words and even if your views may be more pessimistic than some of ours about how Danny is being handled by his label and 19, your heart is definitely in the right place and your deep love of Danny and respect for him as a human being is evident. People can disagree–life would be boring if we all had the same opinions–but the bottom line is we all have a deep love and respect for this wonderful and talented man. He is living his life to the fullest and his best days are ahead of him.
I love the way you write, and always appreciate your viewpoints.
I think Lee is going to really surprise us this season. As with Danny, I see ENORMOUS potential. Unlike the other guys, he has such passion. I don’t think we’ve seen everything he’s capable of yet. I think he will have an OMFG amazing performance soon. My prediction is that he will come in third–like Danny, because I can’t at this point see him beating Crystal or Siobhan. But you never know! But even if he’s third–I think this time it won’t feel so bad as it did with Danny because there’s a lot of advantages to not winning. Still…would love to see him win.

Bosman, Tim will not win. Hell will freeze over first. I think he’ll be voted off in 7th or 8th place, like Sanjaya in S6. He has the Disney-set votes and the cute looks but that can only take him so far. I’m not a Kris fan, but Kris does have more talent than Tim. I like Tim though because I think he’s funny and cute with all the surprised faces he makes. He knows he doesn’t deserve to be there.

The reason I thought it was taped today was the Mar. 12th date on the video. I assumed it was the date it was recorded, not the date that it was posted. They must really be slow when posting their interviews.

False alarm on my part. I watched the interview True Country, and thought that it was a new video. He had said on it that he was going back on AI. It was apparently taped last week before his AI appearance. I just bummed myself out. I’m still hoping for another appearance on AI though. Fingers crossed…

One more thing I forgot to add to my scenario above: when she accepts his proposal, the entire room stands up and gives them both a standing ovation. Yes, I guess you could say I am a romantic. Always have been. LOL

Ugh, I hate Rihanna’s song Umbrella. It’s playing on VH1 now. Time to change channels.
