Hi everyone.
Danny is currently #30 on the 7 Day Rolling chart up 255 spins for the week.
Glad to see Danny is doing well on the country radio charts.
He is also holding steady on Itunes this morning with his album #14 on the overall chart and #3 in country behind Lady A and Gary Allan’s new album.
Twitter: steph6449
Danny apparently called into this show which has been tweeting about trying to get him on air. not sure if they post media anywhere.

.
Matt Bjorke posted a comment predicting Gary might sell 50-65K albums this week. If we see Danny pacing near where Gary is, seems that would be a good thing although Gary’s buyers may not be digital music peeps perhaps.
Goodmorning all!! lets continue to vote vote vote for Danny today on GAC and CMT! if you believe in the power of prayer, let’s pray and send positive thoughts to Danny for his grueling and demanding schedule!! Hannele I am sorry I missed your comment yesterday regarding me getting close to sweet Danny!!
he is truly a GEM, he is so precious; it was all kinda awesome just to be near him; it was my birthday March 7th so this was the greatest birthday present ever!! I really sensed his sincerity and Genuine heart– I felt other things too, good and bad but I won’t go there!!
Mr Bing it was so nice to see you posting yesterday, lulu I miss you, come back!!! Leah from the philippines I have not heard from you, I hope you are still able to vote, Joanne from China it’s been a long time hearing from you, Julie from the UK you and your sister are in my prayers!! This’s a nice picture on the top.Always nice to see this smiling and warm face.Hope he keeps doing great this week.
Twitter: pjgvet
Would have been nice to hear that interview!
So stoked that Danny is holding his own on iTunes!
Chart peeps; any chance of recurrents on the chart this week to get Danny solidly into the 20′s?
My Target was still out of Danny’s CD two days ago
I thought they shipped 127k albums?
Busy with Rodrigo; but managed to visit the VFTW site last night
Is regurgitating a second rate bloggers hate tard musings the best they can do? I’m disappointed in them.
Probably still a lovely review coming.
Wonder how the concert went last night. We probably won’t get any footage of the private charity event today.
Twitter: pjgvet
Have to run to work, but just have to say again, that I love your new gravatar Mr. Bing; it always makes me smile
Twitter: mrbingfordannyg
Latrece,if you are here, lulu comes here everyday obviously. She is not talktive through. And the other Chinese girl is in US now.For the voting thing, dont need to worry about it.We are doing it everyday.Danny is in good hands.
Hi guys! Don’t you all just love that cute little expression Danny does, in today’s picture? It is so Gokey!
Pam, Same thing here. Was in our Target yesterday. Nothing. Not a one! What gives?
Twitter: karatemom34
Good Morning Everyone, Nice to see you Mr. Bing! I agree with you, a very nice pic above, just makes you smile!!
Hi Latrece, keep missing you, you’re becoming faster than me, with just popping in and out!! Lol
Hi Pam, Steph, Lizzy, and FOGS
Be back later, need to go vote!!
I had a bad virus on our computer and was told to run spyware doctor, that couldn’t fix the problem, so we had to delete everything and put it back on
Twitter: LuluGokey
Latrece!! I miss you too!!! Sorry for being missing for so long… I’ve been busy at work(one of my co-worker is leaving and I need to take over his job) and busy at keeping up with tons of Danny news! When I got some time, well, it’s already after midnight for you… But I do lurked here once in a while, to get the latest Danny news!
And every ihearties, I miss you so much!
Twitter: karatemom34
Miss you too, Lulu!!
Hang in there, Lulu! Happy Belated Birthday, Latrece! Hi Cindy!
Hope we get to see some video from tonight’s show. It is so awesome that Danny has found a friend in Jeffrey Steele. He is another beautiful and talented man.
So sad. Some of the commenters on DGO are posting not so nice thoughts. They don’t appear to be haters. Just disappointed people. Disappointed about many things, mainly their lives. It is just sad that they are blaming Danny.
Off and running today. BBL.
awww thank you sweet lulu for letting me know that you still visit us!! I hope I continue to see you in the midst of all your hard work!! lol Hey Cindy!! I guess I have been in and out huh?!! I am going to contnue to vote! Thank you Mr Bing for letting me know that you are with us!! Goodbye everyone!
Thanks Maryann for the birthday wish!!
what are they complaining about specifically on Danny’s site???
Twitter: BLfolsom
Good morning everyone
Maryann, the Target close to our house was out too, I was going to check at Walmart but didn’t get a chance.
Would love to hear Danny at the Jeffery Steele charity event but, that probably won’t happen.
See you all later, gotta go to spin class and work off last nights tacos.
Twitter: BLfolsom
P.S. Happy Belated Birthday Latrece
P.S.S. That pic at the top really is cute.
Claudia…
Hey, NO hurt you. Happy to report it WORKED!!! I’ve been able to rate the CD. Thanks so much!!!
Latrece…
Happy Belated Birthday!!!! You gals up north are getting awfully greedy getting to see the Danny.

Thank you DEE and Billie for the Birthday wish!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Latrece. Seeing Danny had to be the loveliest present ever!!!!!
Still don’t understand the hatetards. Can’t figure out why you would make a comment on a story about someone you don’t even like.
Twitter: pjgvet
Claudia;
Sorry, I’ve been so busy with my exchange student; just seeing your post from iTunes now.
What I do is when my old comment pops up after I star rate it; I just delete, post a new one and it takes it.
I have just been doing the star thing now.
Maryann, I saw that. I have been countering those fake Danny “fans” posts. Inevitable haters would sign up just to post negatively.
Are you talking about the birdhouse one? That is ridiculous.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
I now know who I want to win American Idol Season 9. Michael Lynche! His performance last night of A Woman’s Work blew me away. For the first time since Danny I was compelled to vote and will continue to vote for Michael for the entire time he is still on the show. I of course love soulful voices and WOW, Michael is soulful through and through. He made me cry. I’ve listened to his performance about 20-30 times and I get teary-eyed everytime – just like I do with Danny!
I also think that Danny could have done a cover of that song and although he would have sung it differently, I can imaging how beautiful it would have been.
Twitter: pjgvet
MJs is so funny; everyone (even haters) are ignoring Danny’s chart news; they can’t say anything bad so they don’t say anything.
But def. spazzing over Kris and Adam’s singles ad nauseum!
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Does anybody know if the countless votes I am placing on the CMT Top 20 Countdown are taking? Last week I spent about 3 hours on one day voting non-stop on the Top 20 List and 1 hour on the other days and Danny still did not get on the Top 20! Because I spent so much time voting on the Top 20, I spent maybe a total of 1 hour the whole week on the Pure country 12Pack and he was #1. Is it possible that even though it looks like the votes are going through on the Top 20, they actually are only recording 1 vote each day? It does say you can only vote once. If it’s only recording one vote, then I will spend the bulk of my time on the Pure contry 12 Pack to make sure Danny stays at #1!
Twitter: pjgvet
Cheryl, maybe you missed the convo here on CMT top 20.
Our votes do not vote him in to that. They show interest; but CMT decides who to put in there.
So I would vote a little on CMT top 20, but concentrate on the 12 pack. And GAC, of course.
Morning all. Funny about MJ. I guess we scared them off with our positive comments. It’s no fun when they are not in control. Happy belated birthday Latrece.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Thanks so much Pam, I did miss that convo. All this time I’ve been voting and I should have been devoting that time to the 12Pack! I will try to put in extra voting to keep Danny at #1 on the 12Pack!
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Good morning everyone!
I have been busy over on that perez hilton site. I really hope that my latest post there will wipe the smirks off some faces. I think so.
Maryann, I know, I can’t even believe the way that people tug on Danny’s coattails sometimes. It must be kind of a painful aspect of the whole thing sometimes for him, but I guess it just has to be accepted as part of the territory that he’s not going to be able to make everyone happy all the time. But I think most people understand and appreciate how much time and care he gives to his fans, so I hope that is what he thinks about mostly.
Ellen, just wanted to let you know I saw your response to me last night. It made me smile because you have got me pegged pretty well. As a calm energy/soft-spoken person who has worked mainly with men, I have had to learn a lot of techniques to not get run over. I actually like sparring with them, but if you can’t control your emotions with those guys they will eat you up. It’s funny, most of the non-profit stuff that I am focusing on now is with women, and female-dominated culture is so different. I like both, just in different ways.
I watched AI last night, and once again Mike was my favorite. He is in it to win, and he is not kidding around! I was impressed. I don’t know who to think will be voted off, I will have to think about it some more.
Twitter: pjgvet
You go girl Cheryl!
Happy Belated Bday Latrece also. 25 yr. now, right?
I hope Danny is relaxing compared to his grueling week last week.
Good Morning all, Have a question here. Does any one know if Danny is only signed to play on country stations?. One of our local stations that I listen to here at work is not country but they do play Carrie Underwood; Taylor Swift; Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban. I emailed the music director this morning and he told me that Danny’s Rep did not give them a copy but he will see about getting one. So I am hoping that this is a good idea.
Moring IHearts,
I was so upset when I heard that about our votes not counting last week when someone brought it to our attention. I can’t remember which Iheart but I was so shocked. Since then I have been putting more votes on the 12 pack also, and of course voting once a day for the GAC.
Maryann, Billie,
I wonder if those stores have restocked since their initial order from last week. If they have then Danny is still having huge sells, if not, they had better get them out. Danny’s CDs are in high demand.
Did anyone read the conversation last week about the IHeart T Shirts? We were talking about wearing them when we all go to Danny’s concerts so that he would recognize that we were an IHearts. Since he is so happy with this site and all of his fans on here. But no one really mentioned if they were interested. Ellen had asked Amy and she said that it would be okay. Just wondering what you all thought.
Kathy, That’s a good question. I thought that I had heard someone here saying that they heard Danny’s song on a station that wasn’t country. That would be great. His music sounds cross over/country/pop to me.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Hi Kathy, I think it was a great idea for you to call that radio station! All I know is what I’ve heard Danny say, which is if cross-over stuff happens that’s great, but they are not explicitly going after that right now. What that means to me is that they’re not going to push for adds from non-country stations at this point, but if one came knocking and wanted the song, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t be thrilled about it. Danny has stopped in to visit at least one non-country station when they asked him to and they played his song while he was there I think. So there is a precedent!
Grandmaster, I’m sorry about your computer problems. I hope it’s all up and running again. That’s so annoying when you lose your information and it can’t be retrieved. I have had that happen. It’s no fun.
Oh, on the Iheart tee shirts, it could just be a pin, or anything that would show Danny that we are from the Iheart site.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Hi KATHY Great idea to call some non-country local stations. I think most of the artists you listed are considered crossover and certainly Danny has that same appeal.
JOSIE Michael Lynche ALL THE WAY!
I thank all the ihearties for a beautiful birthday wish!! Cheryl, Pam, Connie, Maryann and anyone else that I miss!! I am glad I am not 25 years but it sure feels good to look closer to 25 years old rather than my maturing age!!!
Didn’t get a chance to hear guys last night. But sounds like Michael did a terrific job.
Cheryl…. Michael was raised in St. Pete. and played football at local school. He gets a lot of press from our newspaper.
I get the feeling that Big Mike is taking notes from Danny!! yayyyy! He even held his hand out like Danny when hitting the power note!! he realizes he has to put emotions and passion in his singing and performance! that is great!! but still he is no Danny
he is good thou, he got my vote!!
Good I hope this works. I know that this station has mentioned his name more than once and I know they are fans. So hopefully they can get his CD and play play play. Well I have to go and dry off now. I got caught in the rain just now.
Danny’s rankings are now posted on Billboard.com,
The Top 200 albums chart:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/billboard-200?tag=chdrawer
Country albums chart:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/country-albums
Country songs chart:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/country-songs?begin=21&order=position
He also made the Hot 100 songs chart at #82
:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/hot-100?begin=81&order=position
He charted on the Heatseekers song chart:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/heatseekers-songs?tag=relcharts
And on the Digital albums chart:
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/digital-albums?tag=relcharts
And he also charted on the digital songs chart at #63.
It is fantastic to see Danny charting all over Billboard.
I had just posted a post that showed a lot of the charts that Danny is charting on, on Billboard. But it’s in moderation, I think because I have a lot of links in it. But hopefully it will show up later and you guys can see all the places he’s charting at.
And if it doesn’t show up anytime soon, anyone can go to Billboard website to see the charts Danny is posting on.
FOGS,
Thanks, I have been waiting for those charts.
Twitter: pjgvet
FOGS, at least Girly Girls has posted that @/MJs
She’s so funny; she has mentioned 3x now that he didn’t meet the estimate ( I guess the only thing she can grasp at, lol)
Wow, 65 vs 67, what a difference
Still complaints on Twitter about not seeing his album in stores
Pam, I’ve read those tweets too. I wish I knew if the stores did restock and sold all of those, or if they just haven’t gotten the CDs in yet for the second restocking.
pjgvet
I hope those stores restock on Danny’s CD soon.
Also he’s still holding the #14 spot on the overall albums chart on Itunes. And he’s moving back up on Amazon. The other day he was ranked #13 over there now he’s #9.
Twitter: BLfolsom
Well, back from my spinning class *sweat, grunt* and Walmart, and the survey said…..before Billie 3 CD’s, after Billie 2 CD’s.
I mentioned to the cashier that there was only 2 left, he said that’s good, it’s selling.
Saw plenty of Lady A, Blake, Josh, and this new Gary gentleman in more than one place; Danny was only in one spot.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Pam, I know, it’s ridiculous. The estimate that is meaningful to compare to is the, what was it, 45-50K? Which would have been a very strong opening in itself. I know that has been pointed out and everyone who cares knows it, it is just silly and obvious posturing.
Something called flounderradio recently tweeted this, I haven’t watched it yet and not sure if it has been posted already.
http://www.thunder945.com/Article.asp?id=1729334&spid=21501
Hi everyone– Just popping in to say Hi. Have to leave soon but I will check out our Walmart while I am out. We can’t get what we can’t buy and Danny can’t sell another 65K this week if they are not on the shelf.
Happy late birthday Latrece. Hope you are still having fun with your daughter.
Pigvet tell your husband I think he is a hottie for doing all the posting for Danny that he does.
I actually liked Todrick’s appearance last night. Michael did have it going. He reminded me of Danny (motions only) on CROCS when Danny drug the mike stand a bit.
See you all later.
RE T-SHIRTS: Hey, I’m with VickieCarol on the iheart T-shirt thing. I did e-mail Amy and she did say it was okay. There’s not time to get an “official” iheart T-shirt done before the March 17th concert, but I’m still interested in doing something like that. Anyone have any ideas for a design?
I’m debating between wearing the purple “CLUB FED — 8TH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS” T-shirt that I wore to the Wilkes-Barre M&G, or having some lettering (the iheart website) put on a purple T-shirt. The shop can do lettering, and I can get a small heart (they only have a few symbols) to put on a shirt. It won’t look very fancy. The place suggested that an iron-on transfer wouldn’t show up on a purple shirt, so there seems no point in trying to a design in the limited time that I have. As usual, I’m leaving it too late to do much!
But I am still interested in an “official” iheart T-shirt!
VickieCarol, I kinda prefer the T-shirt idea, because pins can be hard to see. And I was thinking that a T-shirt is an easy way for us to identify ourselves to each other, as much as to Danny.
Went through the singer…Big Mike scored a touchdown last night. More energy, took command of stage, very soulful.
Something about that Alex Lambert I really like..nice vibe and different. Too low key…needs to pick it up.
Thought Lee did a decent job with Fireflies. Original song is still so much better.
Toddrick Hall did a whole lot better!
All the others – just alright. Not sure how many get voted off, my pick would be Aaron for sure.
As far as girls, is it me, they all seem a little quirky, like little Megans…there is a sameness quality to this group. That Crystal girl does stand out.
It will be very interesting come theme weeks.
Twitter: kiady
Hey ihearties! How is your day going?
Dee, yeah! glad it worked
Pam, ok! that’s what i’m going to do from now thank u!
*reading the comments
Dee, I really like Alex’s voice. It is the most memorable to me. But unfortunately, that is all that is memorable. So I fully expect that he may get voted off. He really needed to display some personality, and didn’t. Really funny that after Alex covered that John Legend song last week, Legend’s sales of the song went up.
BBL!

Good Afternoon Ladies!
Ill repost my post last night…
Carole needs help on the computer… She said her computer is infected with a virus and her anti-virus seems not working… for now she sent me a tweet on her phone and ask all ihearties who can help… She needs advice and pls who is here knows how to contact her so we let her know how to fix it…
for now, according to Carole, she is using her iphone to send messages…
Ellen – I see your post, thank you for your efforts, I DM her last night but I hope that helps her a bit… This is her actual twitter DM:
Hi,I need help!my l.top is infected with bugs, adware the works-the anti viral etc isnt working and i can’t get on 2 i.net 2 download any other-
i can’t use anything, i’m dming from phone!if u can would u ask on iheart 4 me?
Can u post at iheart and ask advice,no idea what caused it
just realizf,i’ve turned off incoming tweets til 9am!
Have to mentioned my husband loves the CD.
Showcased his vocals quite nicely.
His songs selection reflect him, thought the songs were tailored made for him. Remember country has to be believable. Be yourself, don’t be something you’re not.
Although wasn’t impress with the musical aspect. But,
like I pointed out, don’t overproduce the music so his
vocals stand out. Mission accomplished. We have another
Danny male convert.
Ellen, I guess you and I are the only ones interested in the shirts. It was a good idea.
Josie, That was a great radio interview with Danny. I also finally got to hear him say how excited he was about the album sales. It would have been great to see his face when he had gotten the good news about the album sales and the records that he broke. He’s just so adorable.

Pam, is Rodrigo the exchange student? interesting Rodrigo it’s my bf’s name so it caught my attention lol
Lulu, hi! i’ve missing you and your “good morning” tweets on my way to college lol you’re maybe the only one awake haha hope u get some time to come here and talk =) although i’ve been busy too, but it’s going to get worst
Didn’t watch AI episode from last night yet, i have to do it when i get some time.
Dee, That’s good to hear, another converted male fan.
Twitter: kiady
Gokeyguy, i wish i could help Carole i know some things but antivirus and bugs it’s not my thing
but i think she has to restore the computer, that’s what my bf does when my computer gets to slow because of the bugs
Ellen, I agree. A tee shirt would be more easily recognized. I just thought that if some people didn’t want to do the shirts that a pin might suffice. But the shirts are the better idea, I with ya.
GokeyGuy,
I wished that I could help Carole with her computer problem. I do think that something that severe would need a computer tech. person that could come out to physically check it out. My husband works on computers and that sounds serious. Over the phone assistance won’t help, but that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.
Hi Claudia, How are you doing today?
Twitter: kiady
Hi Vickie! I’m doing good what about you? =)
I’m with ya. Sorry for the typo…
I’m pretty good, Claudia. Lot of changes going on right now. My daughter is moving to Missouri this week end and my husband might be getting a new job. So we would be moving out of state too. Change is good……
Twitter: jancute
VC, Claudia – thank you for your concerns, I did tweet that to Carole and I hope she finds one to help her in her area or someone assist her in her pc…
Just wondering. Can you all see my new gravatar? It’s the one from Thursday’s AI show. I changed it a couple of days ago. I like the bright colors, and Danny doing what he does best and looking super hot while doing it.
You’re welcome GG. Computers are so complicated. I’ve seen my husband do system restores and even back date the computer, but the virus problem, that seems as if it would have to be totally wiped clean then have everything reinstalled. Maybe she has already called someone. Have you heard from her today?
At first I didn’t think those posts were from haters (on DGO), but am now convinced there is an underground movement to do damage. They are complaining about the CD, his choice to go country and his birdhouse donation. Good Lord.
Also, dropped by the closest Walmart to me, when I was out at an appointment this morning. No MBD again. Either this is Danny country, or my area isn’t getting in enough CDs. Hope Danny knows there still appears to be an issue.
We can see it V-C. Looks awesome!
GokeyGuy, sorry I can’t help. I’m definitely the last person on earth that could help with computers!!
VC, I’d be interested in the shirt.
I noticed that Microsoft’s latest window updates included a malicious software removal tool. There must be a lot more of that going on right now. I know that I’ve had my share of problems recently.
I’m mean… come on! How am I supposed to rearrange the shelving at all these stores, and move Danny to the most prominent location, if the CDs aren’t delivered?
Twitter: jancute
VC – sadly, no… maybe she having problem until now but I send her a tweet last night and I hope she got it… I told her first is to restart her pc and go to her anti-virus software and start scanning but it that doesn’t work, restarting or reformating the whole pc will do the work but as you said, she have to reinstall all of her programs in her pc… anyways, Yes, I see your gravatar, Danny has nice stage presence and he really nailed the emotion of the song that night! YAY!
Ooops! So sorry Erika! I input my personal email by mistake.
Twitter: jancute
Dee – don’t worry, thanks for your concern… I send her my message and I hope she receive it asap…
Twitter: kiady
Vickie, oh and the place you are going to moving in to (if he gets the new job) is it too far away from where you live right now? most people i know would get a little uncomfortable with that moving out but it seems that you are dealing well with it, like you said change is good
and what about your daughter will she be far from you?
Gokeyguy, yes i think it’s better for her to call someone to assist and fix the pc, because if she restores it she will lose every data on her pc and maybe it doesn’t even need to be restored, just the technician knows what to do.
Do any of you SHF volunteers know if Danny is going to be doing something at his concerts this summer to benefit SHF? Just wondering, because I never put in an application to volunteer, because of my location. I am now wondering, if that is something I should do, in case they need some volunteers from my area during his 5/15 show in Camden.
Twitter: jancute
Yes Claudia, lets just hope for the best, having a corrupt pc is very stressful…
Poor Carole! That is the pits. System restore ought to do it. So nice of you to help her out G-G. Such a gentleman!
Twitter: BLfolsom
VC and Ellen, I like the idea of a shirt too! I just don’t know what design would be best; I like the idea of purple, that was Sophias favorite color and Danny asked fans to wear it during the AI tour.
VC, wish I knew how to operate a gravatar. I’m really showing my ignorance here; is it something I need to purchase, I’d love to put the pic in the spot where pic is supposed to be.
I feel dumb having to ask.
Twitter: kiady
Vickie, yes i love your gravatar!! he looks so cute 8)
Twitter: jancute
Maryann – its the least i can do to help her and I don’t want to let her down… and thank you all ihearties for responding to her call…
Maryann, You are to funny. Let’s hope the CDs get delivered so Maryann can rearrange them. Ha
Okay Betty, that makes 3 of us who are interested, you, Ellen and me. Come to think of it, didn’t Amy have on a tee shirt with an Iheart design on it when she went to see Danny in N.C, or was it S.C? I wonder if she would want to use that design, if we all decide to get one.
Thanks, now I know that my gravatar is visible. Yea, he’s a cutie.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Dee I hope everyone in St. Petersburg area is voting for Big Mike!! I voted about 30-40 times!
Billie,
It’s so easy to get a gravatar. You just click on the word Gravatar at the bottom of the page here. You will just register and then you can add a gravatar from your saved pictures on your computer. No there isn’t a charge. It’s free… I like that.
Claudia,
Yes, it’s at least a 12 hour drive from here, if he gets the job. We live in Northwest Florida right now. My husband is retired from the military, so we are used to moving. I don’t like moving, I despise moving. We moved here 7 years ago after we left Iceland. We live in Iceland for 7 years too. So I guess it’s time.
Cheryl, you can bet on it!!! Has lots of fans. From my understanding he was a stand out football player, as well.
I finally looked at the Dial…he sure looks very safe.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Maryann, do you want one of us to tweet Danny with your info about the store that’s out of stock? I’ve seen people doing that recently.
I think it would be a great idea for you to get in touch with SHF. I am sure they would appreciate it, whether something is planned or not. I don’t know if there is a SHF presence planned or not for these concerts, but there might be a some future event with Danny in your area.
I think Danny’s rollout is GROSSLY MISMANAGED.
His management shafted him big time:
1. His CD supplies are severely understocked and any follow through benefit from this stellar AI performance was wasted for good. Such a wasted opportunity. As I said, shafted big time.
2. Also, Danny seems to be REPEATING THE SAME AWFUL MISTAKE of Gretchen Wilson that went for the money and failed to make impression on radio stations. Correct me if I am wrong, but this week he seems to be only on 1 radio station?! Only 1?! How is that going to be enough?! How is that going to get him more radio adds, when he has almost stopped visiting radio stations? How?
There seems to be many small “events” in the pipeline, but what about the MOST IMPORTANT? The most important being the radio visits and being friendly and chummy with radio hosts?
RADIO IS ONE WHO IS GOING TO MAKE OR BREAK DANNY!!! So why is he wasting this opportunity now? Why??????
Oh, it is so fine and dandy to fangirl and high-five over 65K. But we all know the reality. If radio does not play him he won’t sell. It is that simple. I’d high-five over 650K.
So, in conclusion, Danny must continue visiting radio stations. That should be the priority no.1 right now, not some small-scale, obscure events. (Of course, this does not apply to charity events, which naturally he must continue) I understand that the company expects him to make good on their investment. Isn’t he going to do that with the Sugarland tour anyway? He must visit more radio stations otherwise he will slowly but surely fail. I do not want that to happen. And for that not to happen he must work harder and be out there more. Because this schedule just ain’t gonna cut it. It’s just not good enough.

GG I don’t know how Carole can fix her problem. I wonder what would happen if instead of using the current anti-virus program she has and instead of downloading one from the internet (which she can’t do because she can’t get on the internet) if she purchased a program that has an actual disc that she can insert into the computer and then run it? When you buy the actual disc won’t it automatically start running and clear up the virus?
Cheryl….
kind of interesting…that high school has produced quite a few talents. The NFL QB Shaun King and the very lovely actress Angela Bassett, and a few others less known. They have a Drama/Arts magnet program highly regarded.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
bosman, I agree with you that radio station visits are crucial. I was kind of wondering if they were going relatively easier on him this week to save his energy for the Opry performance this weekend, where of course he will want to be in top form. They sure didn’t take it easy on him last week though, before the AI performance, that actually worried me although of course he did great. It seems that perhaps the concert dates are spaced out enough for him to work in quite a few visits. He is not lacking in work ethic so it seems more likely than not that that will happen.
Bosman, hold up…I think Danny needs to rest his body & voice…he’s been going at it pretty hard.
Hey! Just checking in/lurking as always.
Happy belated b-day, Latrece!
<3
Yeah, I saw on fb where someone was complaining about there not being enough cd's in stores, too. Didn't 127/128k copies got shipped out this week or something like that? Or was it more than? Was that amount just for a certain store? Kind of confused on that one.
Maryann- what's going on over at the DGO site? Is it that bad?
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Bosman I think the biggest mistake Danny’s publicists are making is that they are not getting him national exposure.. like GMA (cancelled), Ellen, The Today Show, The Early show, Regis and Kelly, Oprah, Bonnie Hunt. I remember seeing Elliot Yamin and Melinda Doolittle on ALL of these shows after they dropped their first album. I don’t get it. It seems they are satisfied with GAC. Danny hasn’t even been on CMT in any major way. He should have been in the audience at the Grammy’s and I hope to God he is going to be a presenter at the ACM awards!!!
Figured my last post wouldn’t show up. I didn’t even copy it either…lol…it’ll probably show up later
Twitter: jancute
Cheryl – I think she needs to call for an assitance on her area… but hopefully everything will be just fine and she can join us on our discussions here…
Bosman – I kinda agree with you on the promotions whether it is on the radio or something else. I think Danny should go to a whole another level in promotions like on TV appearances and performances so millions of people can see and hear him… If you notice on the iheart right side schedule of Danny events, its just small events… I don’t know what is his management’s plan in promoting Danny but I hope they should have a very solid promotion but for now, I think Danny should take a break from his week long album release and get ready for the Opry show this Sat and then after that he gets moving again on big promotional tours… I hope Mission Management is not 19E management and hope Danny will not suffer like on Kris and Allison’s fate on promotions…
Cheryl, That would be great if Danny was a presenter at the ACM awards.
Hi Danielle,
Why didn’t your last post show up?
ITA Cheryl and thank you for furthering my argument. But as much as I am worried over national exposure I am more worried over the grass roots (radio) exposure which seems to have died out.
Sure he must be in top form for Opry. I would never dispute that. I sure hope you are right Josie about working in radio visits. He must do many, many more of those and be friendly and chummy with the hosts (who are always right, even when they really are not), if he wants to achieve any measure of being regarded as successful.
I agree with Cheryl about the lack of National promotion. There have been some idols who haven’t sold as well as Danny and not as popular as him who have gotten on some of these shows. Katharine McPhee has been all over the place, even though I don’t think that her current album has sold that well. Danny could definitely benefit from more national promotion.
As far as radio promotion goes, could Danny be done with the radio tour or almost done with it? His tour begins next month, so maybe he’s through/almost through with the radio tour.
It would be cool if he could be a presenter at the ACM’s awards.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Dee Didn’t Mike do some theater also as he was growing up? I think he mentioned that last week on the clip they ran before his performance of It’s A Man’s World.
I do think Danny has done A Lot of radio visits ever since he signed. He has visited some of them twice! I’m not sure they would want to send him to all the smaller markets, but He has hit quite a few larger markets. I worried about his constant radio appearances because it does wear out the voice. I do think Danny need to rest his voice from last week. I also think it is important for him to rest it before doing tonight’s show and the Opry. I suspect there will be LOTS of industry insiders at the JS&Friends event and it’s important for Danny’s voice to be at it’s best. Since the Opry appearance is televised, it is also important for his voice to be well rested. Maybe he will be back visiting radio stations next week. His tour start soon too, so I imagine there has to be preparation for that.

Oh Vickie i’m sorry… but it might be good for you

hold on a second… what is more important??? having a tour with sugarland or these national promotions??? can Danny handle these together??? can he do national promotion and at the same time, do some TV performances???

Kelly Pickler is another Idol who has been on some of these national shows. And, yes, Katherine McPhee is all over the place lately. She just sang at the White House the this week!!!!
Hello world! Hi to all of iHearties! Hope everyone’s doing well. Was just lurking actually….. Duuuuu GG one thing carole can do is to scan her pc in safe mode (although im not sure if it will work coz i haven’t been using windows for quite a long time now)
1. If the PC is on, shut it down, then turn it on again.
2. While it is running BIOS (starting up) keep tapping F8, a windows advanced option menu will open.
3. Select the “Safe Mode” option by using arrow keys.
4. Press Enter, it will complete the start up in safe mode.
5. After the PC is all set in safe mode, she may run the virus scan, make sure to scan all drives. After the scan is completed, she may restart the windows in normal mode.
Hope this helps……. other things she can do is 1.) System Restore – but this does not completely erase all malwares and spywares and viruses, 2.)manually delete the infected files.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Typo! *at the White House this week!*
Cheryl
I think that Katharine McPhee has a really good manager. She’s been on late night shows, morning talk shows, performing at the White house, getting a guest role on the television show, “Community”. She’s had at least one of her songs played in a montage on AI. She has very good management.
Twitter: jancute
Is having a tour with Sugarland is Mission Management’s strategy for Danny???
I just posted on the thread where that lady was complaining about Danny doing that birdhouse for that charity(forgive me if I don’t know the name of it) and her financial troubles, etc. I just can’t believe that she would say that the only way that Danny could be reached is through a large bank roll?!!! Is she serious about that? Sorry, that post from her just really threw me!
Twitter: jancute
DOGG – Duuu!! nice to see you here… yes, that would help, are you following Carole??? can you tweet that to her??? She can receive tweets on her iphone for now…
Bosman, wanted you to know I have heard Danny’s song MBD’s on a regular spin with XM radio but not on our local country radio which he visited. I was able to attend that radio event and the staff at the station said it was one of the best visit’s. They also said Danny would make it big but have not really pushed the song.
I have been disappointed but glad to see that XM seems to be supporting Danny. I do not have any idea what is happening in the other radio markets.
Some of the stores did not order his CD in high number as they did not think it would sell over 45,000, guess they were wrong. Music land is a fickle lady. All in all Danny did very well considering, I can hope from Opry night will give him more spin play. Think when he is on Ellen that will be good.
Hi Everyone….Since Turner Hall on Saturday, I now have the Danny Concert Bug in me. Once you’ve seen Danny in concert, you get the addiction (probably for life).
So hopefully some of you would be able to join me in attending one in Rockton, Illinois on July 15th. It will be a much smaller venue than Summerfest that’s for sure. Tickets go on sale starting at 10am Friday (very reasonable). So please let me know if you think you can come……Cindy, Jan, Latrece, Toni, Kristy, Pam…and more.
Here is some general info regarding it as well as sample driving map:

Looks like it could be a fun day for us!!
Claudia,
Yes, it will be good. People have to move to where the jobs are these days, they are few and far between. If you have ever heard that saying.
I saw K. McPhee on those shows too. That’s what Danny needs to do. I know that there are only so many hours in a day and he needs rest then there is the Sugarland tour but let’s squeeze it in somehow.
Gokeyguy, Sugarland tour is great, but he must make radio and TV appearances.
So he visit a radio station, he leaves a great impression and still they won’t play his song, so what?! Some stations won’t play, some will. The point is that he must call in more, must work harder. (He does work hard, but this is obviously not good enough) Also, if the radio stations he visited won’t play his song HE must call them and find out for himself why.
FOGS, if he really is done with the radio tour because of the concert tour than he has basically signed his own “failure warrant.” Radio tour should never end. They day when the radio tour ends the career ends as well.
Cheryl, wouldn’t be surprised, the school does many high profile theater productions. Mike’s dad cause a rackus by revealing he made Hollywood, guess that’s a no no.
Actually, I do not know if it is good that HE calls a radio station, but his management and he must find out why they won’t play him, so that they can strategize based on feedback.

How cool your bf is Rodrigo! Mine is Rodrigo Junquiera Castejon. I may even post a pic of him if I can figure out how on twitpic.
Bosman; You know I am worried about store supplies.
But I am trying to make myself believe it is a carefully orchestrated attempt by RCA to show sustained sales and not large with a big drop off…. Ya never know………
I have tweeted Danny twice today about it.

Bosman
I think that his official radio tour might be coming to an end, but that he will still probably visit some radio stations sometimes to keep his name out there. And so that he can let people know what is going on with his music career.
Bosman, that’s a pretty “HARSH” statement, “if he really is done with the radio tour because of the concert tour than he has basically signed his own “failure warrant.”
Hey VC! It sometimes does that when the comment I’m trying to post is too long, I guess, but when I close out and come back on it’s posted so no worries
amazing how many are on the danny gokey site right now. Instead of calling these radio stations I think I will send emails. I have some idea from my downloads who to contact wonder if there is a list somewhere of all the vists? just a thought.
Danny will probably be doing radio stations in between his tour dates. His managers and RCA are pretty big players. I’m sure they know that Radio is a big part of Danny increasing his popularity.

Bosman – the thing is Danny has many things he wants to accomplish in just 1 year. I don’t know how to manage it himself and how his management manages Danny’s desires for example, his foundation… what is the right formula for Danny to mix music with his foundation now that his schedule is so hectic and totally booked and how will he prioritize things for the next 5 years of his musical career???
It is Dee, my statement is harsh. And I ain’t apologizing for it. You have no idea how much I want him to succeed. But often I think that the humanity just isn’t worth it and does not deserve his great gift and talent.
But he is like a soul healer and he can change so many hearts and even the way people live their life.
Twitter: pjgvet
Dani, I’m sure the birdhouse lady on DGO is a hater. She just signed up to post that.
Funny how with success they come out of the woodwork.
They can’t touch him now.
Twitter: pjgvet
Bosman, I agree, Danny is a soul healer. I have even changed my behavior at times, thinking how he would react.
RCA does keep things close to the vest. The gamboled on the AI appearance being a big boost and it was. Who knows what other appearances they have up their sleeve?
My main gripe is not enough CDs for those “impulse” buyers to get.
Twitter: kiady
Vickie, i didn’t hear that until now
it’s important to think positive and you are doing it so everything will be ok!
Pam, the second and third name of him sounds Spanish that’s weird lol to twitpic go http://twitpic.com/ do the login on top with your twitter name and twitter password then you will see on the top again
“Upload photo” click on it, and all you have to do is click on “search file” and it will open a window with your computer’s folders, search the pic on you computer select it type a comment to the pic if you want to and click on “upload” to finish it
Gokeyguy, I’ll say nothing new in saying that when properly organized, the daily schedule can never be too busy or overbooked.
From Danny’s last tweet he has another dream coming true with SHF with the role out of the music ministry to children. So he really has his focus on that right now and wants are help in helping with are contributions. Think that would be a good idea to help Danny. I do not know how he does it all but he has a mission that keeps him going. That is his HEART

No, Rodrigo is Brazilian through and through! He said the Portugal and Brazilian portuguese (sp) do very a little bit; perhaps the S. American dialect sounds more spanish?

Bosman – I hear you, I hope Danny’s management fix this immediately… We Dannyfans want him National TV Promotions now even though 1 guesting per day is enough… And we mean National TV and not local TV news etc… Local TV news is not enough… based on these analysis, Danny’s management/RCA should come up with something and so Danny’s talent wont go wasted…

WOW Danny is so thoughtful, don’t worry Danny, if its your time to be nominated, which we know you will, you can count on us fans! all the way!! YAY!
Yes Pam, I am a very passionate person, but somehow he sort of calms me down. It is funny because I am not idolizing him or overpraising him or anything. I believe in one Creator so no “idols” here.
But Danny certainly is a wholesome role model.
Please guys, do not think that I am not thrilled about Danny’s success so far. I am. I just wish he would not have to work so hard and I realize he must even work HARDER to get what he deserves. But, on second thought, working hard is only just, so he should work hard. There’s no way around it.
Twitter: kiady
Pam, well i don’t know maybe it was just me lol i do think Castejon sounds Spanish lol you wrote Junquiera didn’t you mean “Junqueira”? that sounds Portuguese LOL oh you did good but it’s Bom Dia or maybe you were trying to say Bons Dias we normally use more “Bom Dia”
Already voted for Chris Young
Here is part of the email I got from SHF that Danny is so excited about I thought you might be interested. This is the dream he was mentioning with his wife Sophia very sweet and humble young man. But, we knew that didn’t we?
Danny Gokey and SHF are currently focusing their efforts on establishing cutting edge programming for children and youth revolving around music and arts. This programming will consist of:
Audio Recording Arts Program will consist of classes that teach industry standard audio recording techniques and technologies. Students will learn recording methods, editing and will make their own recordings. They will also use their talents to help record students in the community choir. Audio will be showcased at sophiasheart.org.
Video Recording Arts Program will consist of classes that teach industry standard video recording techniques and technologies. Students will learn basic videography, editing and make their own videos. They will also use their talents to help video record the Urban Dance students’ routines. Videos will be showcased at sophiasheart.org.
Urban Dance Program will consist of learning historical influences to urban forms of dance, and highlight moves that are common in mainstream entertainment today. Choreographed routines will be developed with the students and they will perform for video and the community.
Contemporary Community Choir will consist of children and youth that will learn about the historical aspects of modern music and perform locally in the community. The choir will team up with the Audio Recording Arts Program to record music.
Pam- You’re probably right. Just ridiculous for someone to think that Danny’s in it for the money. Whatever
bosman- Yes, you’re statement was harsh saying that stopping the radio tour would be a “failure warrant” for Danny. How do we know if that’s not the case? Not doing any radio tours, that is. His management probably have some in between his scheduling so I honestly do not believe that stopping the radio tour will end his career like that.
I’m sure w/everything that’s going on now, getting ready for shows w/Sugarland, more possible national promotion, SHF, etc….everything will work out for itself. The label and management know what there doing. That’s how I see it.
Twitter: jancute
Bosman – don’t worry, all you want like the rest of us is for Danny to succeed and walk to the right path of success and stardom… We also questions what is happening with all the important appearances so that Danny’s success is still going forward while the momentum of debuting high is still there…
Don’t mean to sound so irratated, but I can’t really hold in on how I feel about certain things. And I’ll just leave it at that.
Hey guys. Back. Yesterday was busy. I found a news article that embarrassed me a bit. It was an article from fox 6 community. The lady was talking about me and she made the comment that I flew in from Nashville to “see or rather feel Danny.” UG! Why do people have to do that? Talk about awkward! Also, I read this board topic where some lady was whining that u had to have a lot of money 2 meet Danny! Not cool either. SOrry, I know I’m behind. Will catch up. Oh, by the way, some of you asked about Whitney and how she did. I’m telling you that dog is amazing! She didn’t move during the concert, and I don’t think anyone stepped on her either because if they had, she would have jumped up pretty quickly. OK, way behind. Catching up. LOL
Twitter: pjgvet
Claudia, no I think the Brazilian is Bon Dias I think (pronounced Bone Jee-ah)- I’ll double check when I get home!
I prob. did spell his mother’s maiden name wrong, lol!
Bosman, sometimes it just helps to voice our frustrations here! Whether they are legitimate or not, I know I can vent and most hear it without judgement. You ARE very passionate and we appreciate your flowery, colorful language. I view your posts in that light.
Twitter: pjgvet
Ah, Meaghan, I can see how that would bug you. I think people should realize that you understand “see” means metaphorically!
Gotta admit, you know I am jealous about the “feel” part!
I can second the “Good Whitney” report- she was under my feet during most of the concert when she wasn’t up under Meaghans. I think she was exhausted from the cold line waiting too! And there was no garbage to go after, right Meaghan, lol?
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Hi Meaghan! Whitney sounds like a trooper. With all the excitement going on, who would have blamed her if she had been stirred up some. Obviously she has a great temperment and knows what she’s doing!
Sometimes tv and radio personalities can be very annoying. How about when those radio DJ’s put Danny on the spot by playing that previous recording of him when he said he wanted to do something other than country. Talk about awkward! I’m sure Danny can relate to what you are saying!!!
Twitter: kiady
Pam, lol yeah you’re right they sayd Bom Dias sorry! lol i was thinking in Portuguese love how you pronounced (what you wrote) sounds really like Brazilian pronounce!! lol
Twitter: pjgvet
Since we are all being “honest” and venting today; I have something I would like to get off my chest.
I have concerns over people constantly tweeting Danny asking for DM’s or special attention.
It started with Birthday wishes, now progressing with pleas for sick relatives, sick fans, just plain old attention in any form etc.
I feel Danny has enough to be worried about. As fans, we should support him and not be hanging on his pantsleg begging for attention. He is a super sweet person and I think this can stress him out. He already gives so much to fans, and I feel this is inappropriate.
Sorry if I offended anyone and perhaps many of you feel differently; but it is something that has bothered me for a while. I have partaken in tweeting him for some ihearts at concerts; but that is not begging for a DM, just a heads up that they will be there so he can say Hi at a concert.
I think it is so much more fun when he DM people out of the blue.
Not trying to offend anyone; just food for thought….
LOL Pam, OK, so I have a confession. I did feel of his leg just around the bottof his jeans. OK, and his jeans were fitted. There’s a good mental pic for you ladies! LOL, he wore cool boots too. They were nice leather. When I got a hug from him too I noticed his leather jacket which happened to fit him nicely. LOL, OK, maybe that reporter was right. LOL, Just joking! I’m not a “feeler.” It’s not me, but when I hug someone or touch them I take in what I feel so…. yeah! Poor Whitney she was so tired by the time that concert started, and yes, she went through lots of trash and I think that was because she was bored. Whitney isn’t the type to stand around. She’s a go getter, but I’m like that too. LOL, we had a ball. I loved it! Ladies save me a spot in line at summer fest if Danny comes.
Twitter: pjgvet
Meaghan, , kudos to you for being able to get away with it;
We all would have done the same!
Pam, I know exactly what you mean. I didn’t mind the Bday wishes, and I’ll even confess I asked him 4 one when I had gum surgery, but now, I feel like that was even inappropriate. One day, Danny is going to get huge, and he won’t have time 2 send all of us DMs all the time. I love the unexpected DMs I’ve gotten. I’ve only gotten 2 but…yeah! Yeah Pam, I agree. Now it’s like “danny, I got a papercut! Can I have a DM please?” It’s gotten so out of hand. Danny has become everyone’s counselor. It’s just crazy! Anyway,
I am sadden at the tone that is used to desccribe the disappointment with Danny’s mamnagement team. I don’t think we need to politicize Danny’s mamnagement team nor do we need to quesion their intentions with Danny. Is everything perfect?? no! but what artist has a perfect team? can you imagine what Danny will feel when he looks on this site for comfort and encouragement?? what Danny has done with the massive radio tours has never been done by any other country artsit ever!! they have done radio tours but not to this extent and degree!! surely a lot of them are flourishing fine. Unfortunately, dealing with a new artist is a trial and error thing, so maybe that is the reason why they did not put out too many CDs in the stores initially.
I don’t agree with every aspect of how he is being managed but I would never question their total commmiment to Danny and his sucess. It is a complete utter bold statement to declare his demise due to a radio tour, when he has done what no other artist has ever done! I am sure some will disagree with me but I love Danny and I don’t think he deserves us trashing his management team!! we can question some aspects of it but this deliberate outrage is unnecessary!! I am sorry if I am too forceful but that is how I feel. pray for me and have a good day everyone !!
Hi Meaghan I saw you on Saturday and I will say that Whitney was a very good girl. My daughter kept teasing me that I should go up to you and ask you to come over and train my dogs, she also wanted to come over and hug Whitney. And yes my daughter is 29 years old. I am so very happy that you got to come here. Please don’t let the media annoy you or stupid people making comments about having a lot of money. I think it is wonderful that you came to spend the evening in Danny’s home town. I truely hope you can come here again.
Oh, I’m already making plans for the summer. OK, here’s what I have to say about putting out CDs. Why couldn’t they have overstocked. Isn’t it better to overstock than understock? I mean, you know more people watch American Idol, and so when they saw Danny on there, they realized he had a CD, and so they wanted it. Well, they go to Walmart only to find that they’re not there. Do you realize how bad that looks in the long run? I mean, they want Danny to sell all these albums, but if the albums aren’t there, how can they be sold? Plus, more people would probably buy his CD impulsively if it was there in front of their face. It’s really disappointing I think. I’m sorry. I’m not trying to be mean, but if you want an artist to sell lots of albums, then, those albums must be abailable for purchase.
I am with you Latrece. Danny needs our support and love. And that is what I am going to do.
I just checked Josie’s “Request Danny Gokey” list. I know it’s kept pretty up-to-date, and as of today, 103 major radio stations have added MBD and 42 major radio stations have not. Some are radio stations that Danny already visited. He did a 6-part interview in Omaha, NE and a 5-part interview in Madison, WI. Neither of those stations have added him. What can be done about that?
I would love to know what the entire process is for adding or not adding songs to a play list, and also for playing songs once they have been added. Anybody know?
Danny has been working hard and he really needs a breather.
I agree. I do think Danny needs a breather. Unfortunately, his career has just started rolling and for a while, he’ll have to keep up his heavy schedule. I’m so proud of all he’s done so far, and wish him the very best.
Twitter: steph6449
Hi all, will save today’s interview to listen to a little later.
I’m a little confused at the concern of how things are going for Danny. They are going fabulous! He’s got a top 30 hit still moving up on country radio; music sales charting at the top of the lists on iTunes, amazon, and Billboard; nice profiles running about him on GAC; a second trip to the Opry on Saturday; sold-out concerts with hundreds of people going to see him; the chance to raise money for good causes that he loves; getting his program up off the ground with SHF; and hot buzz coming off his chart success and AI appearance. Not even counting the Sugarland tour, his eyewear deal, and anything else I’ve forgotten to mention
Danny may be shifting from dedicated radio tour focus that he did. I think RCA should be able to judge when it’s time to graduate from that, onto a more balanced agenda for Danny’s time. And he’s not separating himself from country radio at all. It was just Monday after all that Danny did a multipart interview in Chicago, and sang on air for them. He’s also been doing call-in interviews, and pretty much every concert Danny has done or has coming up has a country radio station who is sponsoring it and helping to promote it on air, through their websites, email lists, twitter, etc.
I would love to see Danny on some big tv appearances, but I can wait a little for that. He’s already done so much better than I was letting myself hope for him
Wears me out just thinking about it.
I double checked the web-site of our local country station, The KAT and I found out that they may not be playing MBD’s as much as I think they should. What they have done is put ALL of Danny’s songs on a link they call music on demand. You cannot download them but available to hear the CD and then buy for yourself. Thought that was a nice touch and support. So I was wrong…
Just a thought Danny is overwhelmed with your love which is what he wanted us to understand what SHF and himself are about LOVE! He try’s to make everyone believe that we are all a Somebody. I guess we look to Danny for more then what we should, it is hard not to be touched by his LOVE of LIFE.
This is just the beginning ihearties….
Pam, you are absolutely right. I guess its ok to post encouraging tweets and happy thoughts, even birthday pleas. But that’s where it should stop.
It has gotten really annoying recently. I know that there are many lonely people out there, but vainly soliciting attention like that is just DISRESPECTFUL.
I am on twitter, and so far I am happy to report that I posted only 2 tweets to Danny. One for the Sophia passing anniversary and the other when Danny wanted to post messages during that 10,000$ donation competition for Sophia’s Heart.
Latrece, Endless Love is exactly in questioning everything, especially questioning the management team of the artist you love.

Gosh, I think this music on demand is coming from the clear channels so all may be doing this on their web-sites. I know Michael J who has interviewed Danny several times and very much a supporter of him….like that’s a bad thing. Hey Danny J…..
Latrece, I agree. We must be careful with this critical spirit going too far. Have any of us managed a recording artist before? We can point things out especially the stores not having enough CDs.
Let’s get real, Danny has had a terrific week by all accounts.
Let’s celebrate one milestone before we go off on these tangents.
I know we come from a good place, we all care and want the best for Danny’s success.
I’m going to stick my neck out here with something I’ve talked about before.
I love Danny as much as all of you. I’ve been trying to think of why he is not being invited to interview on some of the major shows. I don’t know about all of the politics involved, since everything is political. I do think Danny needs help with his grammatical skills. I’ve said it before, that I noticed in that one interview that Danny said “My wife and I” instead of “Me and my wife”. Someone must have brought that to his attention, because he always said “Me and my wife”. Appearing on TV is different that appearing at a radio station. Grammatical skills are more important. So are interviewing skills, and Danny’s getting better at that.
I come from a humble background, but while growing up, I was always corrected when I used incorrect grammar. It got to be annoying, but now I really appreciate it. If you go for a job interview, it is also important to be able to speak well, right?
I know everyone here is very protective of Danny, and that includes me, so I hope this post is taken in the spirit in which it was intended.
bosman, I could not tweet, when it was the anniversary of when Sophia passed so that is nice to know you did and that you have contributed when Danny asked at his concert in Milwaukee, nice,….

speaking of radio stations, US101 in TN from last night with 160+ pics from Danny’s event
@dannygokey was awesome last night at the High Noon Saloon! Thanks to everybody who came out! Check out the pictures now http://us101country.com/cc-common/gallery/display.html?album_id=221259
Their website also has Danny’s MBD video up as a featured song on their top 20 On Demand player (to right middle of page)

We’ll have to see what tv appearances Danny has coming up, but we should take into account that RCA and Danny’s team have been following a strategy to position him as a *country* artist, and that has its own rules that don’t always match what other artists do in different genres.
In Danny’s case, I think they’ve been very conscious of that, even more so perhaps than they may have been with an artist who was more obviously “country” in his background and style. It’s good for Danny to work his way up and show respect to traditions of the country music world. If he’d been all over national media (and I do think they could have booked him had they wished to), there could have been some backlash against him in Nashville and country radio.
Instead, by following the path they have, he’s been very well-received, had a chance to refine his music performances on the road with his band, met a lot of people around the country who can help him with his career, and by and large gotten the country music world behind him, or at minimum neutral.
steph, I looked at us101 and that is a clear channel too so all of them have that music on demand for Danny, thanks for that bit of good news.

Saw Danny tweeting in support of Chris Young for the ACM new artist award. Trying to remember who I voted for, lol — it was a while ago. I think it was Chris, as he was very good when I saw him at the Opry the night Danny was there. And I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for Luke Bryan after the corn song
I think grammar isn’t as much of an issue on radio as in TV. I think all that is a learning process for him. He’ll get better in time. I don’t mind the “me and my wife” as much. I think I’ve heard him say my wife and I before.
Who knows. I think it’s a little thing to pick apart though, but it is something he’ll have to work on. He’ll be fine. Let’s let him grow a little. I know we all have our cratiques of various things he says and does, but we have to remember that he’s just now becoming an artist. We knew him on American Idol and have loved him since then, but we have to remember that he’s past that. He’s doing his own thing and will learn so much in a year. We just need to give him time.
Step64, sounds very reasonable.
Pam,
About the request for Danny to DM people for any and everything. I totally agree with you. I have noticed it but I didn’t want to bring it up. When it was my birthday someone asked if I wanted a DM from Danny and they would tweet, I just told them that I didn’t want to bother Danny. He is way to busy to ask him for a DM for me. Not to say that I wouldn’t have loved a DM from Danny, because I would have been super excited to have gotten one. That’s just my opinion too. So, I hope I didn’t offend anyone either.
Danny is new, RCA knows what they are doing, we have years to go yet or at least YOU DO! LOL! That is why I count on you iheart girls to keep going when I am gone….I got some years left, I can see me at 80 go Danny go! LOL Now there is a picture for gravatar! I still have my own teeth!!
Remember though, that english is changing very quickly. Grammar rules aren’t what they used to be. I think that Danny will learn all these things in time. He’s getting a lot thrown at him right now. I imagine he’s pretty stressed, so let’s kind of back off a bit I think. I mean, I’m not trying to be rude, but I think is one of these who learns by experience so let’s let him do that.
I’ll just say that I aired my concerns, because I deeply care. If I did not care, I would not be here. And my intention is not to trash anybody or anything.
Perhaps I just worry too much and see problems where there aren’t any.
This is a terrific week for Danny, but all accounts. YAY!!! So, I might have been over anticipating. But you know, It’s only Love!
Have a great night everybody.
Meaghan, nicely said…..btw – enjoyed hearing about your encountered with Danny.
Yay Bosman…. that’s the spirit!!
The fantastic thing about the music business is that there isn’t one way to become a star. We’ve seen this with American Idol. I feel like if Danny doesn’t do more radio shows, he’ll be fine, but his management will do something else with him. Danny is the kind of guy that I think can be flexible so I’m not worried about that. The thing that upsets me the most is the CDs not being available in stores. That’s how Danny could really get going I think. About the advice for Danny, let’s leave that to the haters since they seem to be dishing out so much. What we need to do as fans is stand behind him. We don’t need to judge or whatever because he’s getting enough of that from the hater camp right now. I’m not trying to cause trouble or anything. That’s just how I feel. This is a critical time in his career and so we should be as supportive as we can.
they tried to cut up Danny when in an interview he used the word gooder and gooder instead of better and better. Give it a break Danny has already admitted his mouth or tongue get in the way. Why you ask? Because his brain is going so fast his mouth cannot keep up with it. Can we say he is that intelligent? My husband teaches College so I will answer yes. There are many smart young people out there. What is important is what comes out of the mouth is coming from the heart. All I have every heard from Danny is a positive message with Love..from his heart.

Pam I agree about the requests for DM’s. Very early during the Idol tour, I did tweet him requesting that he look for someone at a meet & greet, and I believed even that was getting out of hand when it started happening more often. I have never asked Danny for a DM for myself and never would. I have on occassion wished somebody a happy birthday and in the same tweet said that I hoped they got a birthday greeting from Danny. But those are few and far between. I agree with you that if you have to beg for a DM, what is the fulfillment in that? The DM’s from Danny are much more meaningful when they come as a little surprise. When I see a lot of requests for DM’s going out to Danny, I will sometimes tweet him saying something about hoping that he is taking quiet time for himself and away from the demands that are placed on him.
I do however tweet Danny often. I make observations about his tweets, or I send pictures or links to stories or music etc…. I personally don’t consider that demanding since Danny only sees those tweets if he purposefully does a search for MENTIONS and when he does see mine he will see that I am not asking anything of him. I think it is perfectly fine for people to tweet Danny to respond to his tweets and to make observations or pass along pics, vids or news. Danny does not have to read those or open them if he chooses not too. DM’s are specifically asking him for a favor and I don’t think people should do it because it probably does make him feel bad if he doesn’t respond. I’m sure he would love to respond to all of them if he could, but it is not possible.
I have a feeling that the reason most celebrities don’t respond to tweets is because once they do, they open a can of worms and everybody expects them to respond. I have noticed the other AI8 idols for the most part rarely respond to tweets.
I agree that whatever has come out of Danny’s mouth has been nothing but loving. Plus, most country artists don’t have “spot on” grammar either. If they did, they wouldn’t do so well because country is thought of as a bunch of people who are “real.” Now, should Danny use correct grammar as much as possible? Yes. Do people judge on grammar? Yes. However, people should look at Danny as a loving person who has a heart for people! LOL, can’t you tell I’m an english major?
Twitter: steph6449
anyone know what this might be referring to?
@dannygokey, the Moby Network added “My Best Days” this week…congrats on a great beginning to your country music career!
.
awwww….
Peanut just called from the bus so excited that @dannygokey was at her school today and he came right up to her! @dannygokey U made her day!

Pam, I agree with you too, I like the idea of Danny getting messages that are more about support for him than the other way around. He already does so much. I don’t know what people are thinking sometimes and don’t want to judge fellow fans, I’m wondering if a lot of this stuff comes from young girls who haven’t really developed the concept of empathy yet. Awhile back I gave one of them a gentle talking to on DGO, I have no idea if it helped or not. But to the extent that any of this bothers him, the old adage “pay attention to what you want more of and ignore what you don’t” should fix it up over time.
Betty, I know your concern about grammar is out of the best concern, but my personal opinion is that it’s not something that causes concern to me. I don’t remember listening to his interviews and being struck by errors, I think the way he speaks is consistent with a casual, down to earth persona. I think there are some country artists who deliberately adopt a more casual style to seem more accessible, that’s the culture, I think. I like listening to him talk, especially when he gets all wound up about stuff, it’s so cute. If that degree of likeability comes with “me and my wife”, I think everyone will take it for a good deal.
Twitter: steph6449
ah. appears that is a syndicated country radio morning show
http://www.mobyinthemorning.com/affiliates.cfm
Sharon, you are absolutely right. I also think Danny is like a kid with a heart that remained pure and unspoiled.
Once again, I am sorry if I offended anyone in my posts above because of my concerns. Also, thank you all for reassuring me. I definitely was going off the rails. Steph provided some convincing arguments. Thank you. Its all good I hope. Good night.
Danny has not been added in Duluth Minnesota 105.1 as of yet. They have e-mail requests and I have requested daily, maybe someone else will give it a try? As far as Danny’s radio tour is concerned, we showed concern when he didn’t have a contract, again when he did and no cd, again when he had nothing going (as far as concerts, interviews etc) another getting his cd and download numbers up, and guess what IT ALL WORKED OUT… Lets show a little more Faith in RCA and Danny…
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Were people really picking Danny apart when he said “gooder and gooder”? Immediately after he said it he laughed and said “if that’s even a word” then he started saying it on purpose to get a laugh.I think he is adorable when he says it and kind of giggles. I noticed in some of his videos he said “if you ain’t in love” I think Danny knows that ain’t is not correct english, but he says it on purpose – sometimes people use slang to make a point or to set a certain tone! I have used the word ain’t at very specific times just to be funny or to emphasize my point (Ain’t that the truth!). I have noticed lots of people using “me and (another person’s name)” and “(another person’s name)and I” incorrectly. Danny is not the only person to violate that rule. I have seen a number of photos posted by people who I know to be well educated with a caption reading “Danny and I” when it is should be “Me and Danny”. Very common mistake.
I think Danny should remain true to who he is. He is a Midwestern guy, very down to earth with a working class background and I am sure he heard people in his every day life using incorrect english. He is becoming more and more comfortable and confident in interviews and will continue to adjust his style as time goes on. I don’t think his grammar has anything to do with why he is not making national appearances. I think it has everything to do with his publicists’ ability to book him!
Looks like yesterday was “happy day” and today is “worry day”. I think that Danny’s management and RCA/Nashville are doing a fantastic job with Danny. He far exceeded my expections on what his debut numbers would be. They have done a good job of sending him out to radio and his song is steadily moving up the charts. Brian Mansfield has said this numerous times, being a country artist is a whole different animal. I have been following country radio – not just with Danny but with other new artists and there is a pecking order. Danny is going to have to pay his dues. Unless you are an established country artist your song is going to move slowly up the charts. Many radio stations don’t play songs until they make the 10 to 20. Just ask Steph, she checked out our local country station in DC and they normally only play the top 15. I don’t think you can expect Danny to keep visiting radio stations like he has been. He has proven that he is willing to work hard and now he is getting buzz in country circles on his debut album. RCA Nashville will push his song at the appropriate times. That is so exciting that Danny will start a touring with a big name country group. Touring is considered one of the biggest platforms for country artists. My opinion on National TV promotion. Other than American Idol where fans are use to buying buying buying. Appearing on a national TV show normally doesn’t generate that much in sales, especially Good Morning American and Regis and Kelly. Ellen would probably be good for Danny and late night TV but those gigs are hard to get. Danny had a very good start to his career with his debut album but he has a long long way to go before we know if he will make it as a recording atist. Brian warned Danny fans of that a couple of days ago when he posted the numbers. Even if Danny has a few hit songs there is no guarantee. American Idol fans are too use to watching contestants explode into stardom. It doesn’t work that way in the real world. I have complete faith in Danny because of his work ethic and his talent and I think Danny knows that he has a lot of work to do and it isn’t going to be easy.
And my two cents on Danny’s grammar. Who gives a crap. It makes no difference whatsoever, especially as a country artist. Danny’s fans and maybe some of his haters are the only ones paying attention to such things. I like Danny just the way he is. I don’t want him to change a thing.
Just checked Itunes and am pleasantly surprised that Danny is hanging on to the top 15 spot overall and #3 spot in country albums. His album is also #10 on Amazon. Danny’s song is doing very well on radio also. It is up 200+ spins.
What is this?

Bosman, no worries! I am happy you were able to relay your worries and that we soothed them
You are so obviously a loving and loyal Danny fan, it shows.
Betty, I am a grammar fanatic (although you can’t tell here because I am more casual); I frequently correct my husband and kids.
But I like Danny just the way he is. I agree with those who have said before that he is more approachable, down to earth and even appealing when he makes those small errors when speaking. Celebrities who are artistic do have latitude when speaking compared to more “intellectual” jobs; I think this is especially true in Country.
I feel the written word is another story; and I know SHF has been more vigilant in correcting grammatical errors.
But I just love Danny’s little speaking idiosyncrasies; they really endear him to me. He knows his grammar is not perfect and he uses this to relate to people and to display his self-deprecating humor (thus gooder and gooder !).
Cheryl, my little rant earlier definitely only referred to asking for DM or asking Danny to follow tweeters; not tweeting Danny; I am 100% positive he loves reading our tweets (esp. your witty ones) to him when he has time; as long as we are not begging him for attention or favors.
One more thing to add: I grew up in Iowa, am well educated and now live on the east coast. I still use the word ain’t and some of my Iowa slang. My family tells me you can’t take the Iowan out of me and guess what, I am proud of it. Sometimes i speak that way on purpose because I think it is funny and it gets reactions.
Okay that is four posts in a row – I sear I’m done – goodbye
Bosman,
If you are still here. I wanted to tell you that I appreciate your love and concern for Danny. You are a dedicated Danny fan.
Twitter: steph6449
Just look at tonight. Danny is performing at a fundraiser for Jeffrey Steele, where tables go for $1000 (or more, forget exactly). That’s great exposure for Danny and shows that he is being accepted by many in the Nashville community.
He’s also got another ritzy fundraiser toward the end of March, for $1000 a ticket, at an occasion where Tim McGraw and other big country names are going to be present.
Have to say I don’t follow kradison that closely, but from the little I do read if you wanted to have an argument over which AI8 finalist has reached the most people in concert and sold out the most good-sized shows to the most enthusiastic audiences — Danny has as good a claim as any of them, probably better. (Excluding Kris in the Philippines, etc. which is a different animal for a lot of reasons.)
Lizzy,
I think that it’s great that you are staying true to who you are, just as Danny is. I love him the way he is.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Lizzy Very well said! I agree with everything you said, with the exception of the national appearences. The fact that Danny has gone country does not negate the fact that he is also a third place finisher on American Idol. Kellie Pickler has been on all of those shows and she placed lower than Danny. Ellen has had every one of the AI8 Idols on her show, with the exception of Danny and Michael Sarver. Her show is not difficult to book, nor is Bonnie Hunt’s show. The evening shows (Leno, Letterman) are difficult to book, so it does not surprise me that Danny would not be booked on those shows (However, Allison was on Leno so it is not beyond the realm of possiblity that the third place finisher could be booked on Leno as well). I understand your point about country musicians having to pay their dues and they have a pecking order, however most country singers are not American Idol contestents. So, I think the publicists do a disservice to not only Danny, but the fans who got to know him on Idol, by not trying to book him on national shows. I know that GMA and The Today Show do the summer concerts and I know they draw huge crowds, which translates into potential fans. Elliott Yamin and Melinda were on these shows (not sure if they did the summer concerts) and the only reason they were on was because they were third place Idol finishers who released albums. Danny can’t and, I think, has no desire to turn his back on the fact that American Idol gave him the opportunity that launched his country music career and I think the publicists should not be country music snobs and try to take that away from him by not booking him on the typical shows any AI third place finisher would be excpected to appear.
Bosman, I’m on the fence about whether Danny is being mismanaged. On the one hand, the slow rollout seemed to work well for him, and allowed him to distance himself from Idol–and Kradison. He’s selling very well (second only to Adam) in spite of the lack of national promotion. On the other hand, I do wish he was being invited to appear on more national talk shows, etc. because it would give him more exposure. I do not think Danny signed any sort of “failure warrant” and I do believe when he tours with Sugarland he will gain a multitude more fans, since they are so popular. If anyone was thrown under the bus after Idol, it was David Cook, who has never really been able to increase his fanbase much over his fans from Idol due to being sent to tour alone and play fairgrounds and colleges right out of the gate, instead of opening for a big act, like Daughtry did and Danny will be doing. The two singles released from his album were not good choices as neither were especially catchy or made good radio hits. I think the choices for Danny are being made with much more care and forethought.
Keep in mind that while Danny is touring, he will be exhausted and won’t have the energy or time to do a radio tour on top of that, although he will probably make some appearances. Danny may be a star now, but he’s still just a human and has limitations on what he can do at once. I would hate to see him collapse physically or emotionally from sheer exhaustion. His schedule is already pretty hectic and he looks very tired these days. The boy needs a rest. It would be nice if he could have some downtime before his tour really gets underway, with maybe a few national appearances.
Danny will be just fine.
Twitter: steph6449
I have two master’s degrees (my numerous typos notwithstanding), and don’t find anything bothersome in Danny’s way of speaking. He’s not a refined writer or speaker, but I think he expresses himself well as a rule — it’s one of the reasons he is quite popular, as his album sales just showed us. And he’s a young guy, from a somewhat urban blue-collar background without a lot of college-level education. So I think that all is just where he’s coming from. But he’s clearly very savvy and motivated when you look at all he’s accomplishing, with his music, the eyewear deal, and SHF.
Steph,
That’s exciting. I love it when Danny hobnobs with the big boys. They will all know just how talented Danny is. I’m sure they will all be saying, “That man can sing!”
Twitter: .
So I see we have made the round trip about Danny’s promotion. I realize people became used to seeing Danny weekly but thats really not how it is in the music world. So many things go on behind the scene that we will never see or hear about. I see lots of mentions about Katherine Mcphee and her many appearances, but when you think about it what has she gained? At this point 9-10 weeks after her album release she has sold just over 25000 units, I believe last week she sold less than 1000, not a good return on investment and this is her second album.
It’s also important to look aat Country artists and think about how many of them you have seen on national tv in the last year, if you take Carrie and Taylor out of the equation, not very many. We wnat him to be accepted as a Country artist but to be treated differently than all the others..so, so confusing.
I was/am a longtime fan of Clay Aiken and this type of second guessing was samething that drove a large number of fans away from the boards because it stopped being a fun place to be. Now I don’t think we are there yet but the slope is getting slippery and I would hate to miss the fun we have been having watching Danny do want he wants most at this time and that is be a successful singer. I want that to but I am willing to sit back and let the people who get paid to run his career do so.
steph6449, thanks for the link to the High Noon Saloon photo gallery. Those who like to see Danny with male fans will like this photo:

I love the way Danny stumbles over his words and isn’t “perfect” in conversation. It makes him loveable and human, and I totally agree that he talks so fast and stumbles over his words because he is highly intelligent (despite hater comments to the contrary) and can’t get the words out fast enough. I always saw Paula the same way. She wasn’t always that articulate, and as a result many people thought she lacked intelligence, but I saw it the opposite way–she had so much to say she didn’t know where to start and would stumble over her words. I also think they are both extremely emotional people and being so emotional doesn’t always result in sounding articulate but it has nothing to do with lack of intelligence. I think that’s why Danny and Paula always cared so much for each other. They have a lot in common.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
I have said a lot about the natinal shows that I think Danny’s publicists should be booking for him, but I do want to say that I think overall Danny’s label and publicists have done a great job with getting Danny on the radio appearances and the small venues, charity events, Opry etc… Danny would not have sold 65,000 if his handlers were not doing their job! After I read my posts I think I might be giving the impression that I am not happy with his label, PR people etc.. That is far from the truth. Danny’s career is heading in the right direction and is going to skyrocket because of all the hard work not only Danny is putting in, but his handlers as well. (just wish he could be on more national television programs!)
Twitter: steph6449
I do think, as I said above, that they could book Danny on a number of national shows. My belief is that they have chosen not to (yet), so that he could get adjusted into his role as a country recording artist, and take the time to refine his music and gain acceptance in Nashville. I really believe that their efforts have been zero’ed in on the Nashville community and broader network of country radio industry. The first event we saw Danny do when he emerged from the studio was CMA Week, interviewing with country radio non-stop. Then we saw the radio tour, the CRS 2010 industry event, etc. etc.
And all that is working. They have country stations sponsoring events with Danny, treating him well, GAC airing features about him, CMT and GAC running his video, etc. For his long-term success, which is where I think Danny & team are focusing, they need to establish a strong foundation that he can build from for an ongoing career as a country artist.
The other shows would be nice and I would love to watch them, but they didn’t accomplish much for Allison, or even Kris arguably. And with the exception of Oprah, which I read did show a sales bump, not even all that much for Adam.
My guess is we will see those additional appearances starting to unfold maybe in a few weeks. They may space them out to sustain momentum for his album, and there could be doors opening due to his successful album launch that they hadn’t even planned on. So I think that’s all good, and I would love to see if Danny can appear on the ACM award for one. That’s an event that gets good television exposure, but is also very country music-specific. So it serves both goals.
I try not to compare Danny too much to someone like Carrie or Kellie Pickler, as they were known to be country music-oriented when they came off AI. Where this is still a process for Danny, as he often says, since he came out of a church music background, and doesn’t have prior experience singing country music, nor living a stereotypical “country music” lifestyle (southern, twang, rural, etc.). Plus as a guy, I think people may not give him the same benefit of the doubt as the AI girls; just my impression.
So the careful management to introduce Danny into the country world, while frustrating to us sometimes, seems to be very important to me. Was struck in that Milwaukee interview recently, where Danny’s manager was very quick to correct the stylish who didn’t label Danny’s look as “country” right off the bat. They want to make it clear that he’s committed to a country music path, and doing what it takes within that environment with intent to continue there for his career.
Not recreating the Phil Stacey path, for example, or having a flashier intro that could burn out fast, which was the Gretchen Wilson syndrome in that article (realizing although Gretchen’s coming out of a slower career phase, overall she’s been a big success). One parallel I look is Darius Rucker, who was known for doing non-country music, and didn’t have a terribly typical country style. And he went the radio tour route to pay his dues, with some good results. Though poor Darius, as Danny has now beaten out his debut album sales
Love that picture, R-squared. He has fun while hanging with the guys, even if they are just fans. It must be a guy-thing.
BOSMAN, please try to relax a little. Play some Danny music! You are not going to help by getting worked up. I agree that first week sales, while solid, are just the beginning and that Danny isn’t out of the woods yet. I do not understand what is driving the distribution problems. I have not seen anything similar, even for new country artists. It worries me. Most DJs like Danny, but the decision of what to play seems to be made by higher ups. I’m not sure whether there is a pecking order, and Danny has to wait his turn, or what. But the more Danny sells, the harder it will be for radio stations, etc., to ignore him. That’s kind of a vicious cycle if the CDs are not there to buy.

Thank you for that observation about Danny’s intelligence vs. the way he speaks. I consider myself fairly intelligent, but I know when I am speaking with someone I often do the same thing Danny does. I jump from one thought to another because I have so many ideas in my head. When I voice my thoughts it can sometimes come out jumbled. I want to get all my thoughts out, and I sometimes I actually rethink things as I am speaking, so I will sometimes change subjects mid-sentence or take a little detour around my original point!
I think Danny does the same thing!
I got a massage today. My massage therapist knows all about my Danny obsession! I took the CD to show her, and she asked if I wanted her to play it during my session. She said other clients bring their own music. Of course, that meant my therapist got to hear the CD too!
Anyway, it was interesting. The songs she reacted to the most were “Get Away” and “Be Somebody.” She started singing along to “Be Somebody,” even though it was the first time she heard the song! She also said that with the variety of songs on his CD, Danny has positioned himself well to move in almost any direction within the music industry.
Yes, VickieCarol, and Danny probably feels more relaxed with male fans, knowing they’re not going to try to kiss him on the lips, at least most of them!

Do remember also that American Idol doesn’t have the “weight” it used to. In the days when AI was new, if you won, you were a star. Now, I think it’s the opposite. I think if u win, you have to work hard to prove that you can actually be profitable instead of standing there looking cute. I do think there is a pecking order in country music. I do think that country music handles things differently than mainstream pop music does. That’s why Danny isn’t doing what Adam and Allison are doing. Let’s leave him in the hands of the pros. I know we love him, but worrying over him isn’t going to give him stardom. Like I’ve said and others too, Danny has a very long way to go but it’ll be worth it!
Twitter: .
Sorry for the above rant..happens sometimes.
I had an interesting conversation today..I’m not sure if anyone remembers me telling of the gentleman that sits behind me getting a first taste of Danny’s album and although not a Country fan picked several favorites. Well today after i informed him of Danny’s chart success and he gave his beat wishes he asked if I thought danny would stick with Country after this album. We talked about this for awhile and I gave him my opinion which was that I believed danny at his word that he was there to stay and his next album would probably skew even more “country” than this one. No, I don’t think he’ll adopt a twang but I think we will see more songs such as Life on Ya and Tiny Life and not much of Be Somebody. IMO Danny and his handlers had to walk a very fine line with this first album the appeal to country music but urban enough to appeal to the audience/fans he gained on Idol, hence the wide diversity of songs on the album. In the long run I think the will gauge the popularity of the individual tracks and cater the next to that.
Anyone agree?
Hee , I don’t post alot but it seems I save all my words up.

Steph I really do believe that Danny’s label has his best interests at heart. I believe that they do have a specific goal to help Danny be accepted by country radio and fans. It is really important for Danny to prove the naysayers within the industry that he is not just an American Idol who chose to go country but someone who chose country because it fits with who he is as a person and what his goals are with his music. Since I have never followed country music I know nothing about the pecking order, paying your dues mentality, but I do believe it exists and Danny can’t be treated any differently. (but, LOL, I sure hope national appearances happen at some point!)
Danuip, my second favorite song on Danny’s album, after “Get Away,” is the most urban one, “Be Somebody.”
Yes, Danip I agree. And very well said, I might add.

Oh gosh, that is my easiest HaterWhisperer job, is when someone calls Danny clueless or that sort of thing. That almost never comes up anymore because people have learned better. How many people have accomplished what he has accomplished, under the circumstances he has been in. I think he could look in the mirror and that would pretty much be it. I think he is a very impressive person. As I’ve said on mj’s before but don’t know if I’ve discussed here, he reminds me of successful entrepreneurial types that I’ve worked with (with whom I’ve worked, ha ha!). One of my past professional roles was in the acquisition of a bunch of smaller companies by a big company. I was the person who did the valuation and coordinated the due diligence process, so I got to know the owners of these businesses quite well. Many of them talked just like he does, all excited about what they were doing and visions for the future. I knew that to underestimate them because they weren’t corporate smoothie types would be to my detriment.
About how he is being managed, I think from the big picture perspective it’s going fantastically well. There are always details one could quibble over of course, but I think it’s going great. I am not worried about him burning out, even if he didn’t watch out for himself (unlikely), I don’t think the people around him would let that happen. One thing that makes me VERY happy is that they are treating him as a long term investment, not as a flash in the pan.
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Danip I think you are right about the label having to walk a fine line with Danny. I think they knew the album had to appeal to country fans, but they also knew Danny had a fan base that probably did not lean toward country and so they had to include music that appeals to both groups of fans. Not only that, I think they were very careful to include inspirational songs so they could open his music to the Christian market as well. As far as the next album, I don’t necessarily think it will be more country but there is a stron possibility of that. I think they will look at which individual songs sell the most; which songs, if any, have crossover appeal and which songs get the most radio play. That will determine what direction they go on the sophomore album. If Danny has great crossover appeal, I think that wil be the direction they take. If they find that only country stations are playing his music then they will countrify the next one even more. Same is true for the inspirational songs. If they find that songs like It’s Only and I Still Believe sell well and are being played often on Christian stations, they will include more of those types of songs.
Twitter: steph6449
Danip, interesting. I’m not sure, but my guess is we’ll see Danny continue to make music of the type we’ve heard so far, but become stronger and more confident with it for his second album.
I don’t know that I think he will get more “country” necessarily. In the long run, I think he has more to gain by staying within himself and what he likes and does best, than trying to fit a model for male country artists. It makes him unique, and if he’s happiest, then he’ll be singing his little heart out the best he can, which seems to be what we are seeing right now.
As far as his music and process with RCA, Mark Bright, et al — Danny seems happy as can be right now, from what I can see. More so I’d guess, than any of the kradison three, to include Adam who’s had his ups and downs. And I’ve seen rumors a number of times suggesting Kris is not happy at all with Jive.
Where I could see Danny changing, is that as he grows over time and has more distance from the experience of losing Sophia, I think he’ll add a wider range of subject matter for his music, and maybe the message aspect will become more understated while still integral to what he wants to do. I think the subject-matter will also be tied to who Danny is though, so no corn or tractors!
I completely agree with Ellen. If the CDs aren’t there then….. houston, we have a problem! LOL, Also, do remember that Carrie was a season 4 winner and she was female! Country likes female singers and guy groups! Also like I have said she was from season 4 which meant she came early on in the competition. Plus, at that time she was the first AI contestant to be successful with country so I’m not sure comparing Danny to Carrie and Kelly really is a good thing because back then, Idol had more weight to it if you will, and people respected it more. I’m just saying now that the newness has worn off, these people are having to work their butts off to prove that they can survive outside of the idol buble. I think that Danny can do that if his management or whoever will start stocking the stores more often with his albums.
Hey! Wow, a lot interesting talks going on today.
Pam- glad you said something about the DM thing. Yeah, I don’t necessarily mind the b-day ones too much, but just the ones that are very unnecessary are really annoying and inappropriate. I was honestly thinking of asking him when my b-day comes around(May 4th) of wishing me a happy b-day in a dm, but thought about it b/c I don’t want to be too overbearing about it. I think what I’ll do is just ask him once, then leave it alone. So, yeah, just trying to get his attention just for unreasonable intentions of your own through a dm from him is pretty lame. Just sayin’.
I have no issues w/RCA, his management, etc., about how Danny’s career is going so far. Looks like to me it’s going pretty good him. Not good…excellent. The whole national promotion thing will come in due time. Why try to rush it, really? When it happens, I’m sure we all will be on top it. For now, I’m enjoying the greatness that’s happened for him and I have no doubts about it. The people that are working w/him know what they’re doing and that’s that. No problem from me on my end. For real.

Gotta go home! I will try to stop by later! GO MICHAEL LYNCHE!!!!!
Twitter: Upsnodowns
Quick thought on the second album. Danny said he would like to write some of his own. I think Danny will stay true to himself and he said he loves the soulful part of him, so I think he will make sure every album has songs that allow him to show that soulfulness, especially if he is writing them.
Danip, husband had same observation, a little of everything. He stilled liked all the songs, impressed with his vocals. The songs from what I tell him about Danny, reflected who he is. I’m sure they had to walk a fine line to keep the fans and expand at the same time. I do believe they did a great job with the selections. Let’s face it, he probably would have lost people here, if he went hard country. Danny has a soulful voice, can’t hide that, used it effectively on CD and let him be him.
steph6449 no corn or tractors hahaha LOL I agree
!!
Twitter: steph6449
When Sony put out a press release right off the bat comparing Danny to Ronnie Milsap, and after Danny talked all last summer about a “modern soul country” album — I think the soulful aspect is entirely intentional by Danny, Sony/RCA, and the rest.
Being comfortable that he could go that direction, without the twang and rest of the usual country music trappings, and that it could be successful in the country environment, seem to be factors that contributed to Danny’s longer decision process before signing his deal with RCA.
ihearties, do not discount Danny singing about tractors and such. He might end up buying a farm, getting married and having a boat load of kids.
Twitter: .
I don’t believe Danny will change who he is in the making of a second album, the point Iwas trying to make was more that while Country was a little forgiving this time and seems to be willing to accept him, he too will need to move a little closer to the middle. I think that wven in his having a ahand in writing his own music the label will surely pair him up “true” writers to keep the focus. I believe Danny will be able to express himself but sometimes we fall into our comfort zones and his tends towards the inspirational. I think that songs like Life on Ya provide the message but keep the fun and radio listeners like that.
I think Danny and his handlers have to be very careful with the crossover thing as that is one of the main complaints people have with this Modern country sound, that it is just an means to the end. Danny moreso than the some of the others gets the brunt of this so there can be no hint of aimming for this. If the songs crossover they do so on their own merit with no remixing. The only crossover I see as having some acceptance will be to the Christian market and this may be in deference to Mark Bright.
Steph you make a good point that as Danny move further from his grief his tone will lighten as well, I can already see the difference a year has made.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Dee, I think he will probably do all of those things, but I still would be shocked at a song about tractors from him! Horses and dogs, ok. Trucks – well, he’d have credibility on that one!

I was talking about Danny’s grammar as it would relate to a TV interview and it was meant to be constructive criticism.
Meaghan and Josie, I’m glad you understood my concern, and I hope you are right.
Sharon, I agree, Danny has already admitted his mouth or tongue gets in the way because his brain is going so fast that his mouth can’t keep up with it. I think this is very endearing. There is no question that Danny is intelligent and that what’s important is that what he says is positive and loving and that it comes from the heart.
Cheryl, I think you’re a little over the top here.
Saying something incorrectly on purpose for a laugh is not what I was talking about. I’ve used the word ain’t too. A person can speak correct grammar and still remain true to who they are.
I’m a Midwestern girl, very down to earth with a working class background, too, and I am usually grammatically correct. Also, hearing people in your every day life using incorrect english doesn’t make it right.
Right or wrong, people may judge you by the way you speak.
Josie… Nope, not at all. Almost every farm has a tractor. He might get sentimental and write a song…you just never know!
I see a tractor with all his kids riding in the sunset! Yep, I do! lol
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Danip, I actually think that Danny is probably considered a key person in extending the boundaries of modern country music gently outward a little bit more. I don’t think he’ll get more country on his next album. I think he will build a fan base of people who fall in love with his voice and will want to hear him sing songs that showcase it. I think it will increasingly be about what he sings about that makes him “country”, and not so much about how it sounds. Of course that all depends on him establishing a strong fanbase outside of what he already has, but I think that will happen. I think the degree of confidence to which the label has about that will be a factor in how his next album sounds, along of course with his own artistic vision.
Twitter: steph6449
Dee, you’re scaring me about the tractor songs, lol
I dunno, we did hear Danny say recently that he loves horses so the farm part perhaps I could see.
I think they see Danny somewhat as a more soulful, younger, cuter, Rascal Flatts type artist. RF has done very well for themselves without being more traditional country. I’d worry if Danny tried to be more country than he is, he’d be attacked for pretending, and he wouldn’t be comfortable representing who he is. It really surprised me in a recent article, that some of the newer young guys who seem country in their style, were actually getting attacked for it. As they weren’t somehow as authentic as the old country performers they were comparing themselves to.
I’m not really worried about anyone attacking Danny for not being a typical country artist. THose who have said that, were really on the margins of the industry for the most part. Or were just haters, so no one would take them seriously in any event.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Oh Dee, if you’re going to torment me like this, we might as well have him jump off the tractor and run into a honky tonk bar to do a little hooting and hollering and line dancing while we’re at it.
I’m sticking to my guns on the national exposure bit. I don’t think RCA/Nashville wants to alienate country music types by playing the American Idol card too much with Danny. Danny has worked so hard visiting radio stations, attending events, doing interviews, etc. They have decided to take the Darius Rucker route of paying your dues as a new country artist. They played the American Idol card and had Danny perform on AI the week his album was released and that payed off big time but too much of that could backfire.

You guys know me. I’m with Steph and Josie. I think RCA is sticking to a plan with Danny. He’s got time for those national programs. It is all working out! What a week, month, year! While I am still frustrated with the CD not being available—I will stick with the idea that Danny will sell well for a LONG time and the scarcity is either part of the plan or a blip in the road!
A Gokey night to all! Jan
Twitter: jannworth
Lizzy, I agree with you too. They need to build Danny’s country base carefully. He already has huge AI recognition.
Everybody that I talked to about Danny’s performance last week loved it. He is lovable and a great singer. He is going to be huge. “Ed* knows”! (Ed is my husband–he’s predicted huge success since seeing Danny live in the AI Live concert on 9/7/09)
Jan
I personally could not be happier with the support he has gotten his management. They really seem to investing in Danny on a long term basis. They are working the promotions in the markets where he has the most potential audience.
Danny was applauded across the industry – from Rolling Stones to Billboard to HD (even EW and Prez Hilton) for his strong debut.
I am curious when people keep referring to “national promotion”. If that means appearances on the talk show circuit that doesn’t necessarily guarantee anything. Allison certainly made the talk circuit round, yet Danny sold twice the amount she has. Matt, Anoop, Scott, etc who all have been on Ellen (and The Tonight show?) but none of them has a record deal.
It was Danny’s management, record label and Mark Bright that helped Danny established a couple of critical milestones in Country music. I am still stoked that Danny debuted at #4. And his label gave the best validation any new artist can ask for – they are having Danny go out on tour.
Danny has surrounded himself with some of the best in the industry. 19E and RCA Nashville are not a mom and pop operation. Their position, credibility, power in the industry rests on making smart business decisions.
They know what they are doing.
Josie, you did see the video with Danny line dancing, just throw in a holler, there you go!
You gotta admit Danny is leading us down a country road!
Oh, I wasn’t trying to incriminate anyone. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that. I’m still concerned about the CD issue though.
Ellen Warning Alert!!
So sad to see Alex leave. I really thought he had a unique sound…had a lot more to offer. I shed a few tears for the kid.
Hi everyone,
Wow, just watched Idol & was surprised by one of the women sent home. I won’t give it away for those who haven’t watched it yet.
I was catching up on some of the earlier discussions regarding the haters and then saw this quote soon after – kind of interesting: “Ur haters are just big fans of urs that have lost their way.” So see, all we have to do is help them find their way back to the real thing!
In regards to the management issue, I just wonder how much say Danny has in the types of exposure he gets. Could he not request to be on certain shows or to sing at specific venues? I don’t know enough about it myself but was curious about it.
Betty, No villains here, just sharing your thoughts. Everyone has opinions.
Twitter: JosieInSeattle
Dee, I have worked hard to block it out of my memory, and here you go reminding me again!!!! Cruel woman you are!! I’m just teasing of course. He can line dance around the tractor if he wants to, if it makes him happy, I will get used to it.
Teasing aside, actually I am very comfortable with traditional country music. I grew up in a working class family much like Danny’s, except mine had roots in the South. So I grew up listening to it. I have uncles that play bluegrass music when they get together (I unfortunately did not inherit the musical talent on that side of the family). I never did like the honky tonk type stuff or the urban cowboy type stuff though, and as I’ve mentioned before I stopped listening to country music until recently.
Not sure if you all have seen this tweet.

I guess we’ll find out tomorrow where Danny is on the GAC and CMT charts. I hope he ranks on the CMT this time. Maybe after seeing how well his album did, they’ll put him on the chart this week.
Betty,
We were only expressng our opinions. Something we do quite well from time to time. Danny’s fans are extremely protective of him – even when a Danny fan says something we jump in to defend him lol. This comes from over a year of defending him constantly. Many of us find him endearing and don’t want him to change a thing. It’s all good.

hello girls. i was just checking old emails few mins ago and i bumped into this and i was really smiling and cant be more proud for danny.
Howard Benson, who has worked with Chris Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson, doesn’t think Gokey has a future in the industry. “The hardest record to make is Gokey’s record, which is why I don’t think he’s going to make one,” Benson told MTV News. “It would be very tough to make a record with him
Twitter: .
I see Danny is appearing in the 8-8:30 slot at the Opry so I thingk he will only sing two songs like the last time. I also see that the Opry Square Dancers are on the bill with him, maybe he can dance to a reprise of MBD with them ..
for me, im just happy with the management. RCA Nashville is doing great. I think, some fans just want the best for Danny. some fans want him to achieve super stardom very fast and I totally understand them. but the thing is, i think, RCA doesnt want that. they want to establish Danny first and make him “legitimate” country artist. remember, some people are still thinking he is a country poser. RCA wants to make sure that Danny will last long and not just another one-hit-country-wonder. RCA is not just thinking about his current album but also danny’s country career as a whole.
Trish,
That’s hilarious. Now that you have posted it, I do remember that statement. I’ll bet that he is regretting that statement now.
Twitter: jancute
trish – aww I remember that infamous quote to a second rate producer LOL! Maybe hes pulling his hair out one by one as to why Danny did get a record contract and winning it all!!! a big slap to him and a big kick from Dannyfans! YAY!!!
Ok Im going to watch AI, thanks to my reliable PC DVR YAY!…
Twitter: pjgvet
Wow, lots of catching up to do!
Everyone has made such good points! Trish, I agree with you; RCA is in it for the long haul and for Danny to succeed; he needs acceptance by Nashville and country cred. Thus, all the little country bars, charity events, etc. And it is true; talk shows didn’t do much for Allison. Oh BTW, Cheryl, I think Allison only got Leno because didn’t Adam cancel out or something?
I have been thinking the same thing as Steph; that RCA is saving the national PR for a little later. Maybe they are even the ones to reschedule GMA because they realize he will sell well right now and they are saving it.
Betty, please don’t take offense because most here don’t agree with you. You certainly have a right to your opinion; but just because many happen to not agree with it does not mean we think you are a villain
And yes, Josie is correct- we are so used to defending Danny that some of us are quite polished, and er , rather exuberant about it. As well as not shy at all about giving our opinion too, for better or worse!
Did anyone else watch Idol tonight? I don’t want to spoil anything for the west coasters, but will just say for now that I think that this season is the worst Top 12 ever.
This season is worse than seasons 3 and 6 IMO.

FOGS, I had it on, didn’t watch it that closely. But yeah, best thing on the show tonight was Matt & Scott. There are a couple of them this year that are all right, but out of the top 12 maybe ~3 interest me even a little. And at the moment, I can only thing of one to be honest.
Steph
After tonight’s show there is really only one person I like left in the Top 12. This season is definiely not a good season IMO, it’s the worst season Idol has ever had IMO.

Wow just watched Idol (dont worry I will not spoil it to the west coasters) I felt that top 12 is so deserving and all of my favorites are there… and I think I got my top 3 but maybe tomorrow I will say YAY!!!
Ok Ok whatever Danny’s Management/RCA will do, better be good cuz Danny is so rare to have in the music industry and Dannyfans doesn’t want disappointments whatsoever… Im looking forward for more increases in album sales and digital sales… The only point in making Danny appear on those National TVs is that to make Danny visible on the whole US of A ok? Tours and small events wont do that enough but in today’s economic crisis, having a Tour is a luxury to have… So enough of this discussion of this crap… the end!!! YAY! GO Danny!!!!

enjoy another look at S8 here from Brian Mansfield & co. interesting for Danny, the audio clip up is IWNSG, not MBD.

In a nutshell, I am very pleased so far with how RCA is handling Danny’s career. I have faith in Danny and faith in his label and think they are doing right by him. Everything has worked out so well. I’m sure more national promotion will come in time.
So relieved about Lee! I was really worried he was going home because he was pretty low on Dial Idol last night, but they are often wrong! But when I saw him with Todrick, I knew he’d be safe. Gosh, he looks so much like a cross between DC and DG it’s ridiculous. It’s weird but I like it!
Ah, poor Alex! I really liked him a lot, and thought he deserved to stay. I cried with him a little. This seems like a very close group of kids–it looked to me like they were all crying when Alex was voted off. I think even Ryan choked up a little.
Of course I knew Crystal and Siobhan (my favorite girls) were safe–but I was sad to see Lilly go. I liked her.
Cheryl, I’m happy your guy made it too! Go Lee! Go Big Mike!

FOGS, Steph, agree with you completely on the season- not a good one at all. And not just because Danny spoiled us (although there is that).
Matt and Scott were good, weren’t they. Matt sure puts his all into that piano!
Steph, was that a man or woman with that cute tweet for Steele charity event?
Oh, and it was so great seeing Matty and Scott again! I love Matt, and Scott was rockin’ that piano! I miss season 8.

Tune in for GAC Nights with American Idol alum, Danny Gokey and sexy county star, Gary Allan as they visit our studio!
i’m really glad to see that danny’s album sales are still doing well in its second week. and i was overwhelmed that danny had the best first week sales for a new male country singer in 18 years and the highest first week digital sales for a new country artist. i’m so happy for him
i do hope his album will also be released here in the philippines. so far i have bought 2 CDs from the US and 1 from itunes
I can’t wait until I see Danny in three weeks!
Twitter: pjgvet
Thank you Casey for that reminder! I will set the DVR.
Suz, glad Lee made it for you! I like him, but just can’t get into anyone this year. He is cute
We expect full reports from GG and you after your concerts!
Steph, still catching up; haven’t seen the pics yet- will def. check them out! Just asked about that tweet because at first it sounded like a guy, but the goosebumps sounded like a girl, lol
Twitter: jancute
Pam – I really hope I can talk to Danny even just for a little bit… Im going alone though and hope someone could take a picture sigh!!! I could use some advice from all the ihearties who went to concerts and small gatherings and autograph signing events sigh!!!
rowansmom – whats with the 3 weeks??? am I missing something?
Twitter: pjgvet
GG; just ask someone behind you in line to take the picture!
Danny fans are the best <3 They will be glad to do it!
Casey,
Thanks for the heads up about the GAC show. Will you remind us again the day before or the day of the show. I’m not as smart as Pam about setting the DVR. We have one, but I have never recorded from it.
Twitter: jancute
Pam – I hope its a meet and greet and not an autograph signing event only, cuz if it is only like that, you have time limit and make you rush… I don’t know if here in VA, there are crazy Dannyfan like me. and I hope nobody is behind Danny’s back, you know what I mean? I mean if I will face Danny, I hope hes the only one in there and not many event personnel…
Twitter: pjgvet
GG; I think these days (unless they are selling special meet and greet passes), you just go up to an autograph table and get a few words with him and an autograph. Some fans have bumped into him places and scored a picture or hug; but don’t get your hopes up too high.
Even if it is just to say Hi to him you will feel he cares and get his autograph! They may let you have a picture leaning across the table. Don’t forget to tell him you are from iheart!
And Danny appreciates his male fans I think, and fans of other ethnic persuasions, so being from the Phillipines (right?) you may have an advantage
Twitter: pjgvet
Casey, if you’re still here…….
Did Danny remember you from Cousins? Did you tease him about his bowl haircut
Twitter: jancute
Pam – OMG! now Im pressured but thanks cuz those are great advices… The only plan is I will only stick to Danny’s performances and after that hunt him down for good… What if I write a note saying all that I want to say in the autograph signing event. or maybe I will let myself to be the last fan to line for an autograph??? hmm what you think? Yes, I will totally say that, that Im from Iheart and in behalf of Bosman, Mr. Bing, DOGG, Jason, and others that I forgot to mention, I will say that “hey Danny! Im one of your male fans at iheart” oh yeah!!! YAY!
The polls are closed for voting in the CMT 12 Pack. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow, how Danny ranked on that one.
GG I like what you want to say. Hope you get that opportunity that Danny knows there are some good men here at IHeart.

wow, Andrew Garcia really likes Danny, he favorited an interview where Danny is on… hmm very interesting…
Trishcavana – What you say about Danny’s career is so on target in my opinion. I too think their first priority is to establish Danny solidly as a country artist.
Like Danny says, Country artists have lifelong careers because the fans are loyal. He has to earn that loyalty and RCA Nashville understands all that.
Imho they are doing just that with Danny. His management must still feel that small venues and western-style clubs is the way for him to roll.
VC the colors on your gravatar are delightful. So colorful.

marilyn – OMG! oh I hope so really really really… Oh hey, I read your recap, It was great and your hubbie is so sweet… I think that was one of your memorable anniversaries huh?? hmm so sweet..
hmm sorry to be on a different topic but… Is there anyone of you here who believe Andrew Garcia is a Filipino????
rowansman, was good to see Matt & Scott. I was like seeing two old friends wasn’t it?
I think Matt is more soulful now than ever before. He seemed to be really into the feeling of his singing tonight.
On the topic of promotion, after watching tonight’s results show, IMO Danny got a much better spotlight than Allison, Matt, Scott.
He didn’t have to share the stage with any past Idol. I thought Ryan gave him the best introduction out of the 4. And Danny had the most camera time after he sang. And then he goes on Ryan’s show the next day.
Granted Matt and Scott aren’t signed with 19E. But Allison is and I think she made little head wave with her appearance.
The legit media has pretty much appaluded Danny on his strong debut. Whereas Kris got ripped apart by a lot of the same people (ie Billboard) for having the poorest debut of all the winners.

That was sad with Alex. If it were up to me, he would be in the Top 12 rather than Tim Urban. I knew Todrick would go. The judges praised him last night but he was pitchy all over the place. On the girls, my husband guessed it right and I was completely wrong. I knew one of the “Megan” girls would go, but didn’t know which one. Both Lilly and Katie looked surprised, actually everyone they showed looked surprised.
It definitely was nice to see Matt and Scott again. They just tweeted that they’re getting iTunes bumps, that’s great.
Thanks Marilyn,
That was a great night for Danny.
Thank you GG. Yep, he’s been a keeper. Known him and dated him since I was 16.lol
GG I have to say I truly wrote that recap with you in mind. I wanted to encourage you, and any others that seeing Danny was a bit difficult with circumstances, etc to go ahead. I hope it helped to encourage you a bit.
Hello everyone- First time posting. Just thought I would let everyone know that I was at My local Target today here in Wisconsin and MBD was right out in front with a total of 10 copies. Last week the slot was empty. So this is good news!

I am G – Yes, that appearance was so successful and its an example of the Idol who came back so successful YAY!!! Allison didn’t even get a decent interview after her performance… I can’t even understand her wordings on her own song LOL!!
Josie – eehhh, as I said earlier, only one Lambert per Idol history and his voice is not that “Idol” voice kinda… Oops sorry Ellen, I think you like him but hey thats life… I like Todrick cuz what he gives on the Idol stage is so new and so strange at the same time… he is a very good example of the judges mumbling about song arrangement and many crap about being an artist and making it your own dramas… Michael has to go next week or maybe halfway through…

Trish, the tractor and kid comment was priceless!!
If you all missed it…you missed a gem.
So glad to Matty and Scott back, I think AI needs last seasons incredible vocalists to give this seasons contestants somethings to strive for; cause so far, well…they need a little boost.
Is anybody else driving faster than normal while listening to Get Away?? I was coming home from the gym and looked down at my speedometer – Get Away was on – and I don’t want to tell you how fast I was driving :0! Maybe I should up my insurance.
Lizzy, you forget that I am protective of Danny, too, and also find him very endearing. I am not a hater and we are not on opposite sides of the fence. My concern was for Danny.
SPOILER ALERT!
Well, the only voice I’m interested has been voted off AI — Alex Lambert. Just like Danny, I would recognize Alex’s voice in a heartbeat, and I would never get it confused with anyone else’s. Too bad he never felt comfortable enough to have fun and let his personality shine through. I got glimpses of it in the group performance. Once Tim Urban got in, I knew for sure Alex was out. Was sad about Lilly too. (Katie looked liked she was convinced that she was going to be the one voted off.) I didn’t care quite as much about Todrick or Katelynn.
For me, at this stage of the game (picking the top 12), it’s all about the voices. I liked Alex’s the best. Other than Alex, I think the voices of Andrew and Lee are somewhat interesting, and maybe Crystal and Siobhan (although I thought S. sounded bad this week). Big Mike has given two great back-to-back performances. But his voice is nothing I haven’t heard before. I do think he will be a formidable competitor, though. I think he is already imagining himself, post-Idol. He’s doing what Danny advised: he has a plan. I thought Casey had a plan, but I think he’s been coasting.
Now that we are down to 12, people need to step up their performances as well as their singing.
Like I said, I will watch AI to the finish, to get an idea of what Danny went through. But I’m not particularly engaged.

Pjgvet, I liked your comment about different ethnic persuasions. Remember when I said I was the only asian in the bar that night in Mesa, Az. and you chuckled? (I’m not very PC – can ya tell?) To think that it might have given me a rememberability fastor lifts my spirits
Thx!
Goodnight all-

billie – Get Away is such Danny! I hope that is his 3rd single and its sounds reaches beyond Country! YAY!! Danny sure knows how to sing uptempo and make it like one of a kind!!! PS. Most played Dannysong on my Ipod! YAY!
At the risk of having the wrath of Khan come down on my head — and while I see both sides of the issue — I tend to agree more with Betty than not, on the grammar issue. I’ve always cringed when I hear Danny say, “Me and my wife.” I’ve gotten used to it by now, so it doesn’t bother me so much. But from the perspective of a casual viewer or listener? I know that Danny is very bright and has good instincts, but people do judge based on grammar, and some people will write him off based on that. It is true that the American equivalent of the “Queen’s English” is neither necessary nor desirable for a country artist. But I do think there is a happy medium somewhere.
I, too, come from a working class background. Both my grandfathers worked the PA coal mines, and my father worked in a factory. I’m really the first member of my family to go to college. But I learned my grammar in grade school, and most of it has stuck.
Ellen, Betty, I too think it’s good that Danny is aware of his grammar. My mother always corrected my grammar and I’ve never gone to college, well I’ve taken writing courses etc., but I do try to use correct English when speaking and when writing something of substance. But I have noticed that many country singers use poor grammar and it seems to be tolerated.
Not just ain’t but easy ones to correct like they sometimes will say “I seen” or “I come down” I think Y’all is okay, but using the correct verbs is something to be aware of, although I’m not all that either. I always have to go back and check when to use who and whom.
Betty, I am quite sure that you love Danny and just want him to be the best he can be. That’s what he has said about himself too. He wants to be all that his maker created him to be.
So while it doesn’t really bother me, I approve when he does better and I’m like a proud mama when he does really well.
bth when Danny teasingly say good and gooder, I think it’s funny.
GG – when playing “Gotta Get Away,” I have tend to drive faster too.lol I’m being very careful about speeding because I got a speeding ticket last month. The second one in my 40-plus years of driving.
Seems that California police are cracking down on everyone for everything. California is broke and a memo must have gone out saying if the police force want to keep their paid jobs, to fill up the coffers by ticketing as many drivers as possible.
Last Wednesday on the freeway, within a hour’s time I saw two parked police cars with the police standing next to their cars using radar guns to scan motorists.
Think I am writing to myself lol. Good nite
