Danny Gokey is on a whirlwind promotion tour to boost his new country album “My Best Days.”
Digital advance sales have been very strong in metro Atlanta so Best Buy at Mall of Georgia in Buford got Gokey on opening day of the album.
Unfortunately, the weather was dicey and it clearly affected attendance. Maybe 100 people were there. I’m sure it would have been double under normal circumstances. The good news for me is traffic up I-85 was actually not bad and it took me only about 50 minutes from downtown. Bill Celler, former mid-day host and now on-line editor for Kicks 101.5, was there to chronicle the event and introduce Gokey.
Gokey sang a six-song set, including his most popular “Idol” song “What Hurts the Most” and his top 40 country hit “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.” He looked a little tired, wearing a bit of scruff and his signature glasses. But he was in good spirits, joking with the crowd about buying 100 copies and promising to kiss babies galore.
You’ll be able to check him out Thursday on the “Idol” results show.

I love your music, I would like to know if you have a pair of glasses for every outfit that you wear. I love the fact that they always match what you wear.
