    hey everyone! this is my first time posting on the site. I visit it every day though. I have a question regarding the Milwaukee concert. I’m from the Green Bay area and I would love to attend this show especially since it would be my first time seeing Danny in person. the question is, how crazy will the line be? If I do come I will have to take a bus down and book a hotel. I’d arrive at about 11:15am the day of the show and I’d probably go scope out the venue shortly after and if I had to, I’d get in line. I’m just worried about getting down there and it being so crazy (long of a line) that I won’t be able to get a cd and get into the show. I wouldn’t mind waiting a couple of hours in line I just don’t know if the line will be too long by the time I arrive. if anyone can help me with my question I’d greatly appreciate it. I hope to see you all down there next month :)

    ELLEN – just to say thanks for your comments from last night. Life is beginning to improve, heard some very sad news a couple of days ago involving friends but I am fine and just thankful to be alive and on this earth at the moment….

    Yes I am just so ‘over the moon’ to have purchased MBD on video!!!

    CHERYL – I looked at the ‘YouTube’ clip with IWNSG . That song just ‘gets ‘ me every time I hear it and that particular studio version is superb!!
    Although I have to be honest and say I am not a fan of the film ‘ Dear John’. But that said, I just closed my eyes, turned up the volume on my laptop and let that beautiful song just ‘wash’ over me….
    As to the photo of Danny with the baby that Rachel found for us – how super cute are they!!! :) :) :)
    Oh and loved your comeback on that article by the way!

    JAN – I do hope you get to feed your ‘Danny’ habit and see Danny again!! :) you & Toni have become quite the experts in filming and ‘gate crashing’!!! Ha! Ha! :)

    FOGS, happy to see that Danny is holding at #37 and continuing to grow. Do see though that Reba and Tim are coming on strong behind him. Maybe some of the others will fade or fall off as recurrent for the next official chart date.

    Good Morning! Rachel, Happy Birthday! Have a great day.
    I took down the updated video of Get Away since it needs trimming and just my luck last night you tube was down and it did not allow me to do it. It looks like the only song of that concert I did not video is Be Somebody I think I decided to take pictures during that one which turned out bad. I have certainly learned my lesson about how to take videos from now on. I am still working on uploading more but need to go to work now, you will get a feel of how great he was with the audience that night. Have a great day in Dannyland. Snow tomorrow and I hear NYC is getting about a foot of snow so Jan and I really lucked out on our 2 days there although windy and cold no snow to deal with, I will forever cherish this mini trip with Jan.     Julie, its so nice that you include so many of us in your posts–I hope you are doing well. I have to admit that I can’t remember (sorry…) what has kept you away, but its great to have your positive posts here.

    Ivan is such a sweetie to send Ihrtdannygokey a tweet. He is so nice to the fans(as is Def, Brandon, and of course, Danny) on the radio tours. I hope they stay happy and healthy during this crazy time.

    Toni, you know I love you. We are beyond “lucky” in so many ways. Meeting up at Nolas was practically divine intervention, getting in, getting such a great view of the show, great videos, AND to be invited to meet Danny? And then two beautiful, sunny days in NYC? (Personally, I thought it was nice, not cold, but I do live in Wisconsin……) A precious memory to be sure.

    Snow day for my kids! Bah, hardly even any snow on the ground- only a few inches. I guess the bulk coming this afternoon and they don’t want them to be stranded at school.

    Another “Satellite tour” day. Wish all the interviews in Texas were today on my day off – and on so many others snow days also!

    Glad to hear #37 FOGS and up 95 spins already. Milgokey playing him 3x today. I had been hoping for more adds today, but maybe it is all in the “plan”; he’s just visiting Texas today.

    I’m so glad Maryann clued us in about Cookie having the same type of release party for his CD; of course a couple stray peeps are snarking on Danny- it feels good to shut them up right away with the Cookie info!

    Good comment yesterday Cheryl to the Milw. blog! I don’t think it was too snarky- the media deserves it; the Sheperd Express esp. has been snarky to Danny (they consider themselves oh so trendy and the WI equivalent to the Village Voice I think!).

    SCORE!!! I just got through (finally) to the Tami, the morning DJ at Star Country in Madison–the radio station that hasn’t added MBD! I had a really nice chat with her. I asked if she would play My Best Days by Danny Gokey. She said she’d try to get it on. I told how much I enjoyed her interviews with Danny Gokey, she asked me if I had watched the videos online-I said of course! I made sure she knew I really had heard the interviews because I joked about Danny picking up her string cheese–and she said again “he tried to steal my cheese!” I asked her if he was fun to interview, she said he really was. Then I mentioned that I hadn’t heard MBD–was I missing it? She said it was in “their new music” and that it gets played at a different time of the day. I thanked her and she told me “to have a great day sweetie”

    I preordered the ITunes. Erika needs one too; but it only let me preorder once. Maybe I have to back out and go back in to preorder again- that is a good price; although it still doesn’t beat the $5 (or was it $3??) sale with coupon for the AL album on Amazon around Black Friday!

    Did you guys notice the new song on that iTunes preorder?! #11 is called “The Coach”. So there is a bonus song :)

    I noticed that too! She went out of her way to list all the great things going on for Danny, including radio tour, release party and Sugarland tour! And did any of us even send that iTunes thing to her or did she put it up herself?

    I still say she is either bipolar or extremely hormonal the way she is so up and down on Danny :)

    Pam, I am still getting used to twitter too. I just realized yesterday that if I click on my user name under “Home” that it will show me tweets that have my name. I thought they would just show up in my timeline. It is all so strange.

    Jan, I don’t live in Texas but I can FedEx with the best of them! I was just kidding about the cookies though. If I was going to an event at a radio station for Danny I’d probably bring a treat, but I don’t think they like people out of the area poking their nose in. Although I suppose for cookies they might make an exception. ;)

    I wonder if Danny will sing all the songs on his CD on the radio tour before it is released. Not sure I want to hear ALL of them. I would like to have at least a couple of surprises.

    Danny’s album is #29 on the Itunes Country albums chart. I believe that it would get higher if more people knew about it. I think there might be a lot of Danny fans on the Internet who don’t know that his album is available for sale on Itunes yet or know about the bonus track. I believe if he tweeted about this and the bonus track, his sales would go up higher.

    Also I hope that a mod at Danny’s site does put up the information about Danny’s CD being available for sale on Itunes for $7.99.

    Pam, I added a post at AI forum about those dates. Unless she knows something that’s not been corrected yet for the Megaticket tour, she may be a little confused there.

    The megaticket sales definitely list Jake Owen for Philadelphia & Hartford, and the @jakeowenfans twitter has been pushing the promo for them. Not sure those dates are up yet at the Sugarland FB page though.

    I put a post in at AI forum (GD and Danny threads) and idf (Danny thread) about the iTunes preorder with the bonus track. I’ve lost track of where the GD AI8 discussions went at idf, maybe someone can post it there also if there’s a suitable thread.

    Steph, I saw your post about the Megaticket at AI.

    I know, I even asked her last night where she gets her info from and was he really going to be the solo opener at some shows and she said “yes, are you ready!”. So I don’t know; she is either confused or she has some inside info not available to the public (I like option #2, but it does seem hard to believe they would have Danny open solo for Sugarland, unless some big conflict came up for Jake)

    I tried to back out of iTunes and order it again, because Erika wanted one and I might as well get a deal, but it won’t let me order more than once. But maybe it is just me? I could try getting it straight through the ITunes site and not MJs link and see if that works.

    It would be lovely if Danny could be a solo opener, but that’s pretty uncommon I think for someone whose first album is barely out and where only one single has been at radio. If Jake fell through on those dates, bet his fans will be p—’ed given that he’s been advertised for a week or more and no one has corrected it.

    But also seems more likely to me that if Jake can’t be there, they would shuffle in one of the other acts to sub?Vs. have Danny as the newbie artist fly solo as supporting act for concerts that early-ish in the tour schedule, and in two of the larger metro areas.

    That hater at TWOP who was surprised we found out about Sugarland (lol) did make a comment that Danny was going to be a ’special guest’ and then later if it went well, possibly be the main supporting act. I was taking that as meaning for a different tour altogether, or maybe the second half of the Sugarland tour into late summer / fall. Time will tell. Some artists who have been very successful still work as supporting acts in country.

    Darius Rucker for example was the supporting act for Rascal Flatts’ last tour, and is now listed with Brad Paisley. And Sugarland wasn’t headlining until this year. So far Danny to become sole supporting act would just be surprising for me. Guess time will tell.

    Had to laugh at Rickeys timeline. All kinds of Adam fans giving him grief for being “Against Adam”. Is Rickey really anti- Adam?
    I guess I never had that impression, although he quit a poll he had once because he caught them cheating on it, and I know he’s ridiculed some of the OT Adam fans before.

    I saw that the AI-Now Blog now has the information about Danny’s CD being for pre-order on Itunes on Twitter and their site. And I also mentioned it in his thread at TWOP. Maybe Silver has just been waiting on the best price to buy Danny’s CD at, lol. I actually do remember some Danny fans who used to post at TWOP last year, who don’t post here or on places like IDF. Maybe they will see it and buy his CD.

    AL fans seem pretty sensitive, lol. I have seen Rickey comment a couple of times on Adam’s appearance and how Rickey thinks he should let himself be photographed. They don’t like that.

    Rickey also seems to not be too into the gay politics aspect that some peeps want to attach onto anything related to Adam. He didn’t appear too enthused with the AMA drama and some of the excuses Adam made afterward or peeps made on his behalf.

    I just ordered MBD on Itunes–it said the 11th song was only available by preorder. So, I have to boost those album sales, again, LOL.

    This way,first thing on 3/2, I’ll have the CD on my laptop and Ipod–I won’t have to wait for my albums to arrive in the mail! Yeah!

    I’m so new to itunes, I didn’t realize their was a bunch of Ipod casts of Danny interviews you could download for free. I had heard most of them, but one or two was new to me. Its a nice bonus.

    The Sheperd Express article yesterday was actually fine and not snarky at all. I think the guy who wrote it, Evan, is a Danny fan.

    It is odd that Rickey has not written anything about Danny in a long time (since his tattoo that I know of), esp. with all the Danny news out. I get this feeling Rickey wants him to be successful, but he won’t risk going with the “wind blowing in the wrong direction”.

    for those who asked about Adam visiting the UK, appears it will be next month, and then maybe on to other locations in Europe? from someone at mj’s quoting a UK Adam fan group.

    We’re getting closer to confirming the dates he will be in and where he will be on those days – we will keep you updated!It looks like he will be flying into the UK on the 20th March, and leaving for Europe on the 27th so we will have him for a full week. Sunday 21st he will fly up to Glasgow, and then work his way down the country on a regional radio tour, arriving back in London on Thursday 25th March.

    You can preorder on ITunes more than once. I have done that in the past with another artist(accidentally) and did receive the entire cd twice. Unless they have changed something in their system, you should be able to order more than once.

    Hi ladies!

    Just to report that I was able to put 460 votes on CMT today while I was at work. Were it not for a minor crisis, I would have had time for more. (I am not a slacker, I finished my assignment last night at home – I work fast)

    Glad to hear one more song will be released on itunes album. Hopefully I will be able to hear it, if it happens not to be on the album sold over amazon.

    I love, love Get Away. For me, it is his “second PYT,” but more contemporary, dynamic and hip. Danny’s vocal acrobatics on it – really dope. It has that original Danny oomph!

    I do not think he will perform MBD on AI. He said that the record company likes IWNSG and I am 100 percent certain that he will perform that one. They might release it as a single at the same time with the album release.

    I think that these sales will count for Danny. I believe that the original price of his CD was 11.99, but I think on Amazon, they discounted it a little and made it $10.99. And if I’m not mistaken, I think that on his official site, it was $10.99 as well. I think that any CD sales Danny gets from Itunes will count towards his total sales of CD’s.

    I also remember when Adam’s CD was going for really cheap on Amazon. I remember people wondering how that worked, but I think that Adam’s sales from Amazon counted towards the overall sales of his CD as well.

I thought someone said they wouldn’t count, quoting the half-price threshold. But I don’t remember where the information came from, so I am not sure how authoritative it was. But I think $7.99 would still be above the one-half threshold (if it exists) anyway, correct?

    Ellen, everything on ITunes is download only, so yes, to buy it would be download to your itunes software (but only to Apple hardware, unfortunately).

    I remember a lot of debate going on about the low price offered on Amazon for Adam’s CD sales too. Especially between the Kris and Adam fans.

    Some of the Kris fans were saying that one of the reasons why Adam sold more CD’s sales than Kris, was because his CD was sold at a very low price on Amazon. And then the Adam fans were saying that the sale didn’t last that long to make a big enough difference. But I do think that those sales did count for Adam.

    Pam, I know about the long process for peaking on country chart. I do not know the rules, but it seems that an artist can have only 1 song on the country singles chart? Anyone?

    I think that MBD was just a “worm-up” and that the record company will sacrifice it (pull it back) for the sake of IWNSG, if two songs cannot be on the chart at the same time.

    It will be a huge, huge mistake, IMO, if Danny performs IWNSG on AI and they do not release it as a single immediately. That one IS the silver bullet, which must be fired at the most opportune time – the AI appearance – to make the strongest impact. After that, there simply won’t be any opportunity that big to launch it.

    Just my dreams: They might let him perhaps appear 2 times on AI, but I know that will be unprecedented. But since he is with 19, that perhaps is not far fetched. The first time at the album launch to perform MBD and the second time in May, close to the AI finale, by which time MBD single will probably have peaked.

    Timing and strategy will be crucial.

    Bosman, you do make some interesting points! Perhaps he will sing MBD on AI for that reason. And see what song truly garners the most crowd love on tour? Everyone loves IWNSGB, but there are two left we haven’t heard, and we haven’t heard studio versions of 7 of them!

    Carrie certainly has more than one song on the charts at a time. But that’s Carrie, lol. And Taylor.
    The recurrent rules are just so strict on Country seems like you would be competing with yourself if you released another while one was still climbing.

    Right, thanks for clarification Pam. At any rate, the studio version of IWNSG is more than just superb. By its meticulous production it reminds me of Everything I do – Bryan Adams. That one can be played gazillion times without making you sick of it. And that one topped the charts for like several months.

    I know you did not hard the studio version, so it is difficult for you to comment.

    If more than 2 songs can be on the chart, than IWNSG, IMO, will actually lift up MBD, if it does not go recurrent by that time.

    Julie I agree that the movie Dear John is not necessarily the film I would want to see IWNSG used as the soundtrack. But it really did make me think about how amazing the song would be if used in the right movie. Danny has that amazing voice that can make a person feel emotion and with the right movie, can you imagine the visuals of an emotional gut wrenching movie and Danny’s voice at the same time? I can’t wait to see the video for IWNSG. I predict that song is going to a bigger his for Danny than MBD. I think everyone who has lost someone dear to them, or went through the breakup of a relationship can relate to it.

    I think I mentioned before that I wish IWNSG would be the song Danny sings on AI.

    Pam I am really surprised you were unable to pre-order twice. You might be right about the reason – it is at a lower price.

    Julie, persuasive is a nice way of describing one of my personality traits. Like Danny, I can be quite “driven”. Its worked for me professionally, but I like to think I pair it with enthusiasm and use it (most of the time) in a positive manner….. But with time, I’m much better at “letting go” when things don’t go as planned. In fact, when it was looking like I was going to miss the DG Nola concert because of flight issues, I kept repeating (silently) “This is not med-flight if I don’t make it. Toni will fill me in all the lovely details”.

    I’d love to see Danny do one of his ballads on AI, while still acknowledging MBD as his single somehow. Maybe they could do a little clip with MBD as an introduction and then he could sing a different song? Ideally, I’d like to see him sing twice. Maybe once as a solo, and they they could have him either sing another solor or possibly duet with someone else. Hey, you gotta dream — right? :)

    If he does a ballad, my vote would be Tiny Life though. IWNSG is great, but it is almost biographical for Danny and the haters would be all over it due to the close echo factor with Sophia. Tiny Life has a similar acknowledgement so that it’s meaningful for Danny, but it’s much more subtle.

    And Danny sings the h— out of both of them, so as far as that goes they are both a win.

    Steph I see your point about the haters and what they might say if Danny sang IWNSG. They would continue their disrespectful nonsense about his feelings about the death of his wife. Tiny Life would be a good song for him to sing. I’ll be happy just to hear him sing live again on national TV, regardless of what he sings.

    Steph This brings up a thought about why IWNSG was not Dannys first single and MBD was chosen. My guess is the label wanted him to release an upbeat song, because they wanted Danny not to be assoicated with tragedy and sadness. They may know that IWSNG has even greater potential for becoming a major hit, but just like you were saying about the possible repercussions that might exist if Danny sings IWNSG on AI, they may have also thought it was too emotional and too connected to the tragedy Danny has lived, and the risk would be that the public might always associate Danny with tragedy and sadness.

    I think that it would be best if Danny’s sings “My Best Days” on AI. Especially if he only gets one performance. That would definitely help him sell more singles of that song, which is something that he needs to do, since that is his current single.

    I like “Tiny Life” the best out of the songs I have heard off of Danny’s album so far. But I think that from a marketing standpoint, it would be best if he sings “My Best Days”.

    Because that would help him sell more albums and more of singles of that song.

    It would be cool if he could get more than one performance, but if not I think he should sing “My Best Days”. I think he needs to use the exposure from AI, to sell more singles for that song.

    Cheryl, there are lots of good songs for Danny’s albums, they must have had a hard time choosing the single :)

    After having heard the clearer version of Get Away, I could see that as a single also with a country-sounding background track. And either Tiny Life or IWNSG could be a wonderful single for a ballad.

    Danny may have recorded IWNSG after his single was chosen. Wasn’t it somewhere around Thanksgiving, or after CMA week, anyway, when Meredith the CCM singer was talking about how she was in the studio, heard Danny, and he made her cry. Aww.

    My favorite right now is Tiny Life. Love the lyrics, the soulful sound without too much angst and the soaring chorus. Plays in my head all the time.

    I always loved Its Only, but don’t think it will do well as a single because its too faith based in some people’s eyes; and also in tough economic times don’t they say people want to be entertained more?

    FOGS, you are probably right, from a business viewpoint- they will prob. have him sing My Best Days, its fun upbeat, and his album will have just come out- it probabaly would be odd for him to sing another single. I have a feeling they will release a single once the tour is established this early summer.

    Aargh- so lazy today with the swirling cold snow out! Must get something accomplished!

    I love reading everyone’s opinion about which song would be good to sing on AI and which is best for his first single. I think we can all agree that ANY one of Danny’s songs could have been his first single. I think this album is full of hits and am so happy that Danny’s label found him such great songs to choose from. They obviously know they have a star in Danny. They also are showing how confident they are in Danny by having him tour with a big name like Sugarland. What a rare privelege for him – the Sugarland fans are going to love him.

    Hello to all – First a very happy birthday to you Rachel…enjoy being young. I miss your pooch picture – but then I am a big animal lover!! You must be a fan of the NO Saints….congrats to them!!

    It was nice to see a picture and write-up about Danny’s March 6 concert in today’s Milwaukee Sentinel Newspaper. Maybe thoses in the area have already seen it. If not, it’s at the top left hand side of ENCORE (page 6B). Snowstorm today….let’s just hope the weather isn’t like this on the 6th……=(

    I think that Danny singing “My Best Days” on AI really would be the best way for him to go. It’s important that he try to sell as many singles and albums as he can. And if he sings “MBD” on the show he will be able to sell more singles of that song.

    Plus if I’m not mistaken I believe Billboard ranking of country songs is partially determined by sales. I believe that this is the case for the Hot 100 songs, and country songs as well. If Danny sings “My Best Days” he will sell more singles, and that could help him get a higher ranking on Billboard.

    Taylor Swift has a song on Billboard that is almost top 40 on that chart even though it’s not in the Top 45 (possibly not even in the Top 50) on mediabase. She’s ranked that high on Billboard because of sales.

    And I believe that Danny would sell more singles, if he sung his debut single, than if he sung another song off the album.

    I’m not sure where “My Best Days” will be ranked on mediabase/billboard when Danny is on AI in March. But if he performs that song, and gets a nice boost in sales, that could help him out on both those charts. And give him better rankings.

    I think that RCA will make plans for a second single later on, some time after his album is released. But I think they will be focusing on “MBD” for a while. The better “MBD” does the easier it will be for his second single to be accepted, once it’s released.

    Cheryl….It’s not too hard for me to pick my favorite, but after that – it can change especially as we hear more studio versions of the songs. I do like IWNSG the best and I don’t believe that will change. Also up there are (not in any particular order) Tiny Life, I Still Believe, It’s Only and Be Somebody and MBDAAOM. Have not heard the other two songs enough to rate them yet. Of the songs that won’t be on this CD, I have to rate YASBTM and O Holy Night as tops.

    Yes FOGS, but if he sings MBD, when and where is he going to get another chance – as big as AI – to showcase IWNSG?

    Its only and Tiny Life are not as nearly commercial as IWNSG.

    Also, if next single is Tiny Life, they will get on the “he is preaching again” bandwagon. They cannot say he is lecturing or preaching with IWNSG. And, Danny needs some closure. I mean the way he ended AI with YASB, it was as if they snuffed the life right out of him. It was so painful. IWNSG would be like a redemption, a victorious and glorious return that showcases all his vocal abilities. With MBD he cannot demonstrate full vocal abilities.

    I agree with FOGS that Danny should sing his current single on AI. I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t. Danny and his label want the song to peak as high as it can before they release another single. There is plenty of time and opportunity for Danny to release a second single. MBD just broke top 40 and the video is just starting to get played on GAC and CMT.

    I hope everyone is still voting on the GAC and CMT video countdown polls daily.

    Exciting news from Danny about touring with Sugarland. I am not surprised that the Kradison fans are upset – they just want to ignore Danny and for him to disappear but that just ain’t gonna happen.

    I think those haters don’t have to worry about Danny announcing his tour first. Their is plenty of time for their favorites to announce the tours they are doing. What will be interesting to see is if Kris, as the winner, gets his own headliner tour. Carrie Underwood, had her own tour, but it did not start until after her album was out for a number of months, maybe even a year. I suspect that Kris won’t get his own tour and will be an opener for a major artist or group. I do think Adam will get his own tour, because 19 treats him like he is the winner, so I think they will continue that trend and wait for his album to garner more hits and then send him out on his own tour, much the same as was done with Carrie. I believe that Danny may be the first Third place finisher to begin a tour this soon and with major artists like Sugarland.

    I just scrolled to the top of this page and noticed that Ashley is asking us all about the CD debut event on 3/6. I think she may have been in moderation, so I don’t know if anyone welcomed or answered her questions:

    Welcome Ashley. I am not from Milwaukee, and I didn’t make it to Danny’s homecoming when he made top 3, but I did go to Grafton to see him in a parade and for him to sing 4 songs. There had to be 1500 people at that event!

    So will it be crazy? Yes. BUT, one thing I’ve learned is that you have to grab these opportunities when they come along! You won’t regret it! Maybe another Ihearter from your area can help “hook” you up.

    Keep posting! Good things occur for Danny fans! There’s a lot of positive energy at this site and it seems to rub off on our lives! Jan from Madison, WI

    I think that he could get a good amount of exposure from singing “IWNSGB” on tour. I just think that him singing “MBD” on AI would be best because it would promote it as his current single and it would help him sell more albums, with the same name.

    Especially if it’s become more popular by then due to increased radio airplay. I think that there might be a way to download “IWNSGB” as a single off of itunes and buy it off of his album.

    But I think that it would be easier to buy “MBD” off of Itunes and more people would be likely to do that than to buy another song that may or may end up being his second single.

    The better his first single does, the easier it will be for him to sell singles and albums. And I think that it would make it easier for radio to accept his second single (whatever that may be).

    I’m just thinking about what might overall be the best thing for Danny to do and I think that would be to promote his single and try and sell as many copies of that as he can in addition to selling as many albums as he can.

    I like “MBD”, it may not be my favorite song of his, but it is his current single. And I think that it’s a solid single. And I think it’s the song that Danny’s label needs to be focused on and are focused on right now

    I think that he can show off his vocal range, better on other songs, but I think that he will sound good when he performs it on Idol.

    And I do think that he could get a nice boost in album and single sales if he sings it on Idol.

    I haven’t really seen a lot of hater comments about “Tiny Life”, but I have seen haters criticize his songs in general. I’ve seen someone even say that “My Best Days” was too inspirational.

    I think there will always be people that don’t like Danny or any of the songs he sings, but I do think that he will be fine in the end.

    Never saw you until sharp eyed Jan read back (you get put in moderation the first time you post).

    You should try to hook up with Footballluvinlady (Cherie) on Twitter; she is from the GreenBay Area; perhaps you could travel together even! She is very friendly.

    It sounds like you might be ok; waiting 2-3 hours ahead. That is how far ahead I waited for the Summerfest homecoming and got 7th row seats. And it will be cold out, so that may deter some less than hardcores.

    Keep reading iheart to see if we have plans for any after concert festivities. If we don’t all get invited to Danny’s private party after (lol!) we may go to a restaurant/bar after downtown.

    Cheryl, I agree, everyone will get their tour, I’m sure. But I can’t deny the little bit of sweet satisfaction (after all the Danny ignoring that still goes on in their little internet world) that he has a great gig lined up first to coincide with his album release- great timing.

    Hi Ashley! Welcome! I think it would be worth the trip from Green Bay to take a shot at getting into the venue. I doubt that people will be 900+ people standing in line earlier than 11:00 in the morning. Seems to me that you would have a pretty good chance of being in the top 900 if you get out there right after you get to Milwaukee. But, just in case there are that many people already in line, maybe some of the ihearties from Milwaukee will be there and you can meet up with them. That way if they are already in line you can join them.

He seems to always give 100% and enjoys performing so much that I think he will want to perform all of his songs for the audience. I get the impression from Danny that he could sing all night if he was allowed to – that’s how much he loves it.

    i feel danny gokey is going to sneak up on us all and be very successful in the country music field… what looks like an act of desperation on his part in choosing country may turn out to be the best and shrewdest move made by him and tptb in s8… the reception he’s getting from the label, and getting selected to tour w/one of countries biggest and highest profile acts signals to me that he and the team around him are on their game, are taking his rollout very seriously, and plan to give him the backing and exposure needed to begin gaining a foothold in the genre… and you know what – i wish him well, though i didn’t follow him on s8 much, or follow country music much at all, but he seems to be on his grind, putting in the necessary work to get to where he wants to be… gotta respect anybody who goes out of their comfort zone musically as much as he appears to be doing, and giving it their all. will keep an eye and ear out on danny’s progress…

    Ok so while having ‘time’ to myself, I went for a ‘browse’ on ‘Amazon Uk’. I clicked on MP3 Downloads and typed in Danny Gokey.
    Lo and behold, ‘My Best Days’ appeared along with 10 tracks to listen to AND a release date of: 1ST MARCH 2010!!! Once again, the UK gets it first!! :) bizarre!! Wonder if UKITUNES will get the bonus track?

    My curiosity got the better of me and I clicked on ‘Preview all songs’. Now I know from all the rave reviews, videos etc… how fabulous Danny is live. Nothing will ever beat that!
    But I have to say, the studio versions are superb!!

    The 2 tracks I have not heard are: 1 – ‘Like That’s A Bad Thing’ & 2 – ‘Crazy Not To’.
    1 – Well, with the lyric “ I don’t know about you but I was put here to live and love’ – you just have to love this song! A feelgood tune and the clip cut off at the point where he sings the title! At first I didn’t think it was Danny but after listening to it over & over (sad I know :) ) it is him!
    2 – Oh wow, I love this already!! Cheryl, I thought of you when he sings the lyric: “ When I kiss you “!!! I can’t wait to hear the rest of the lyrics to this, it could be a huge favourite along with TL & IWNSG.

    I hardly recognised ‘Get Away’ – it sounds totally different to the live version. It’s music to drive to, on a hot day, in an open top car and stereo turned up to LOUD!!! Could this be the new summer anthem of 2010???
    ‘Life On Ya’ is a toe tapping, head shaking country song with soul and an injection of ‘fiddles’ – sweet!!!
    ‘Be Somebody’ is as it stands with a country sound interlaced with soul – bluesy soul with country guitar!!
    ‘I Still Believe’ sounds slower but so professional and more ‘country’! I love it!! :)
    ‘Tiny Life’ is just superb – such a polished song. I’m with Pam on this one!
    ‘IWNSG’- there is definitely more country guitar in there but it still tears at your heart!!
    ‘Its Only’ sounds very much country and you can tell Lady A wrote it!!
    ‘MBD’ is as it stands – we’ve all heard the full studio version.

    So there you have it – my ‘mini’ review for what it’s worth!! I know the clips of the tracks are so short but I am now looking forward to hearing this cd even more – oh boy what a treat there is in store for us all!!
    Also, Danny mentioned in an interview re the order of the tracks. There is definitely a ‘theme’ running through the whole album and it all appears to ‘fit’ very nicely together!!

    Ok FOGS, thank you for explaining. You do make a solid “still water runs deep” argument. I just think that the WOW factor would be far greater with IWNSG.

    If not introduced during the AI appearance, perhaps IWNSG will be powerful enough to fly on its own, once released as a single. I would be more than amazed, if his management passes this one as a single.

    Never knew about Sugarland, until FOGS mentioned them the other day. Jennifer Nettles really knows to make a full use of her voice. :)

    Hey! It’s awesome about the news that Danny’s gonna be touring w/Sugarland!!! That’s flippin awesome :-) So happy for him! I really am :-)

    Of course, the “stuck-on-stupid” Glamberts/Kradison fans are gonna hate on him about it. Typical :-/ But, it’s funny at the same time as well. This is an epic thing for Danny and they’re just gonna have to deal w/it. Yeah, they’ll keep bringing up how he “stumbled” into country music and how he was desperate b/c he couldn’t get anything else, and blah, blah, blah…it’s like, “shut up, already!” They keep running that same old line about him and country music and whatever else they can bring up about him that’s very irrvelant and that no one really cares about. The haters are far behind boring, they’re pretty much useless. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but they really are.

    Danny moved up some more on Itunes. His album is now #15 on the Itunes Country album charts, and #151 on the overall albums chart on Itunes.

    FOGS could be right about Danny singing MBD on AI. David Nail’s 1st single stalled out. His 2nd single, “Red Light,” peaked at #6, but it took FOREVER to climb the chart (6-8 mos.). But I noticed that his 3rd single (which is not a song I would have chosen to release as a single; he’s got two others that are more radio-friendly on his CD) is climbing the charts a LOT faster, after following up the hit “Red Light.” I noticed the same thing with Luke Bryan’s new single. It’s following up the #1 hit “Do I?” and it’s moving up the charts a lot faster than one would expect. So FOGS has a good argument to make that getting MBD as high up the charts as possible will make it easier for Danny to “sell” future songs to radio stations. After all, if the radio stations don’t play Danny’s song (IWNSG, assuming it’s released as the second single), then it’s harder for the public to hear it and fall in love with it.

    (But I admit I would love to hear him sing something else on AI.)

    Rachael…after posting to you, I decided to change my picture to one of our standard poodle (Katie) who lived to be 14 1/2 years old and died in 2002…..loved her soooo much!!! It probably will take a little time to come up on this site.

    Do you all notice the speed in which things are moving for Danny now as compared to even a few months ago….Danny is lucky he is young and energetic enough to keep up with it!! All that positive energy!!

    I am going to be completely honest. Based on those samples, I like Danny’s live performances better than the studio tracks. the studio tracks have twangy country instruments and when Danny sings live I love the accoustics with Def, Ivan and brendan. I wish those guys could have played on his CD!

    Thanks for you comment on Mandy – we were very proud of her to make the semi-finals. She has gotten lots of offers this week since she left the show so all is good.

    I agree that it is best Danny’s single MBD’s run it’s course and get as high as possible on the country charts before a second single is released. I am hoping his label will give a bigger push to radio in the next few weeks before the album is released.

    Good to see Danny’s album making it’s way higher on the Itunes country album chart.

    Aww, Erika. Sorry to hear that.

    Cheryl, I think it’s hard to tell completely from the little samplers. They will have some country instrumentals on the CD, of course. Danny will need that to get acceptance into the country genre.

    But I think also, the songs can sound a little tinny when you just play them in short snippets on computer speakers. Even It’s Only sounds that way to me on that site, where on a real music system with the full version it sounds great.

    Hi Everyone –

    Totally off topic, but I volunteered for the The Imprint Program, and tomorrow is the orientation. So wish me luck!

    The program pairs a high school student with an attorney. The attorney has to read a book from the student’s curriculum and exchange letters with the student as pen-pals. The idea is to provide the student with an opportunity to interact with a positive adult role model. We get to meet the students at the end of the program.

    You all know how much I love to write, so . . . *fingers crossed*

I love the studio version of Get Away and I’m really intrigued by Crazy Not To–and whom am I kiddin’ they are all going to be great! (I agree with Julie’s assessments as a whole!)     Steph You are of course right about hearing just snippets. Because I Iove Danny’s voice so much I know that when I hear the studio versions in full his voice will compensate for whatever I might dislike about the instrumentation! I do hope that on his next cd his bandmates will be allowed to play. They are amazing musicians!

    Cheryl, that would be great :) Or I’d love if they do live performances with the guys sometime for a video or maybe short profile on GAC, CMT. I did read somewhere though, that even for established artists they tend to go to session musicians for the CDs.
    Wonder how big a band they are putting together for the tour.

    But it is a sign of a good song if it can project from cd form to a live stage and Danny has already shown us he can do that :)
    It is supposed to be a ‘country’ cd after all so hence the ‘twang’ :) I do agree though that Def, Brandon & Ivan should have played on the cd!! Maybe they could release a cd of live tracks like ‘An Audience with Danny Gokey’ and have the guys as his band playing each of the tracks off the cd? How fab’ would that be?!! :) or another title could be ‘Danny Gokey – live & stripped’ – oh I mean the music being ‘stripped bare’ of all the twangy bits and oh heck I am going to shut up cos’ I am going to get into BIG trouble!!! Please say you understand what I am trying to say!!!!!!!!!!! :)

    I also noticed the MP3 is available on the 1st March but the cd is released same as the US – strange!

    I can’t believe in less than a month I will be holding Danny’s album in my hands. I think IWNSGB would be a perfect second single, but Tiny Life would work well too. It definitely needs to be a ballad. I do hope one or more of the 2-3 songs we haven’t heard yet are love ballads!

    Haters are really ticked off that Danny has announced his tour before Adam or Kris. Danny may be having the last laugh–not that I don’t want Adam or Kris to get a tour–I am sure they will–but this news does have the haters in a sweat.

    Well I’m home from my adventure in the snow dome- 2 hours to get home. Alas it was worth it, I get to hear the album snippets. Of the short version of the tracks I could hear I think I’m really going to like Get Away and Life on Ya, should be great concert songs, Like that a Bad thing is going to have to grow on me, but sometimes the pick the most unflattering parts of a song to showcase. The rest sound pretty much like the acoustic versions which is a good thing as it means the instrumentation was kept to a minimum. this seems like a good first album.

    GG, Kris has been doing a mini-tour with several concerts in that area. But it’s not quite the same as what Danny is involved with. Sugarland has a big tour all across the US with 55 total concerts from April through October. Plus Sugarland is a great act who has sold a ton of CDs, with lots and lots of fans, so that is good exposure for Danny outside the AI world.

    Kris will probably have some type of tour plans being announced, no one seems too sure what though. [ Side comment I can't help: Surprising number of mj peeps are taking the JoBros rumor as possibly true or desirable, interesting. I'm still giggling about the irony factor from the snooty kradison fans, ha. ] Also Adam almost definitely should have some type of tour. Not sure on Allison, though :(

    That is great that today Danny was able to announce his tour with Sugarland, how sweet is that and before his album comes out March 2. He has been wanting to shout it out for some time now…good for him. They really expect good things from Danny. It is amazing A K A have had there albums out for how long and nothing about their tours!!!

    I am a little put out with that girl who interviewed Danny and said he came in fourth place and Danny never corrected her just went into the interview. Mr. nice Danny that’s who.

    Maybe tomorrow we will hear more from Danny and the band when they go back to the radio interviews.

    I called the local station today who had Danny in two week ago and asked nicely what’s UP? You had Danny in two weeks ago now how come you are not playing his song more, they said because of the line up they have some but maybe more later….I do not get that??? Yet, I heard the second cut off of Reba’s album today “consider me gone”, think it has to do with established artists and that will be Danny one of these years.

    aww you’re dog was pretty cori i know what you mean,when i was 5 i lost a dog in a house fire. then my dog died in 98 of old age she was 14 i loved that dog and i still do,she was my body guard my neighbors were mean to her they would poke her and throw sticks at her. i got in a argument with my friend he said it was okay that she got abused by my neighbor because of her breed she was part pit bull,i told him off.

IMO middle school (7-8) would be much tougher.     I’m watching it tonight. Have to say, just taking a fast song and slowing it down so you’re called “genius” is getting kind of old for me. Very Kris-like though, Kara is gushing. Not sure why she’s comparing him to Adam though, huh?
    DC did well with Billie Jean, but it was as much the intensity of the song delivery as just the tempo change-up.

    I really liked Andrew tonight and his version of “straight up”. I have seen some videos of him performing songs on youtube, and they were pretty good. I definitely want to see more of him.

    I kind of liked the guitar playing of the blond girl ( I didn’t catch her name) who sung on stage tonight, that the judges liked and called her audition “cool”.

    IMO, the contestants this season play guitar better than contestants in the past like Brooke, Jason and Kris. I could never really hear Brooke, Jason and Kris on their guitars when they played music on Idol.

    But I can actually hear the contestants from this season when they are playing guitar along to their songs. Some of the contestants in the past couldn’t play guitar that well and it was like they were just barely strumming their guitars.

    I am glad to see that there are some contestants from this season that can actually play guitar.

Of course, these teens are kids who don’t have a lot of adult role models in their life. Once upon a time, I worked briefly (in between law jobs) at a group home for troubled teenage boys. It was an interesting experience!

    I love it – Kradison has been signed longer the Danny. Each already have their albums out. Yet it is Danny who is the first from Season 8 to tour.

    Of course the Kradison haters are fuming with jealousy, and there is nothing they can do about it, lol. Just like the Idol summer tour, the feedback and reviews from fans and critics in attendance will always have way more credibility.

    If the Kradison haters have a problem with this, they should look to Kris, Adam, Allison – and their record labels. Each of the them is also signed with 19E.

    Can’t blame Danny that 19E and RCA Nashville believes in him and are grooming him for longevity in the business.

    I saw a post from VFTW that rachel posted on twitter earlier. Some ’stuck-on-stupid’ person felt the need to post one of the contestants from this season, Casey James or Jones’ wrap sheet from 8/9 yrs ago. Apparently, they must really love the show b/c at the end of their post they were demanding that he should be kicked off for what he did in the past. Hmmm…always thought that they hated ‘Idol’ and the fans that love it. Just thought i’d share that.

    Interesting at mj’s in the Headlines thread. Some of the peeps there are basically saying they don’t expect either Kris or Adam to tour, unless Adam tours overseas. (And there doesn’t seem to be any real expectation whatsoever for Allison).

    They seem to feel it’s too pricy to send them out on tour with their moderate album/single sales to date, unless they can find a strong lead act to go out with. And no one has ideas. Doesn’t seem that the Kris or Adam fans have been seeing the kinds of “hints” we’ve had from Danny since December, at least?

    A rude hater showed up in the Danny thread at mj’s. Claiming Danny wouldn’t even know who Sugarland was.

    Just got done watching Idol- Yeah WTH did Kara mean about the Adam comment? The only 2 songs I remember him changing were the disco one If I can’t Have You and Ring of Fire; both big yucks for me. If anything she should have meant Kris.     Hollywood week definitely better than Auditions. I liked Casey James, DIDi and Andrew Garcia (have a soft spot too cuz he liked Danny best :) ) I thought Ellen did better than I thought she would. The real test will be top rounds.

    GG- It is more the Kraddison fans who are upset Danny is announcing- I think they are the ones who don’t consider Kris’s mini tour a real “tour”; as well as Adam’s UK tour. I think they are jealous because Danny has the first lengthy US tour; and with a top notch name. Yes, we are gloating a little, but didn’t really even start to until they got so jealous and are trying to put Danny down (at places like MJs).

    Pam – LOL! you’re right, Kris did most of the song arranging last season and not Adam. The only thing I can think of that Adam did was his screaming with his tongue being visible on it haha… Maybe the reason why Adam and Kris (Ok lets include Allison) doesn’t have any nationwide concerst is because its so hard for them to fit on the pop society now. There are so many big names in pop/rock music scene and unfortunately even though their sales of their albums are fairly satisfying, they dont even know when to start on a big way of promoting. At least Kris is moving, I don’t know about Adams or Allisons…

    Whew! the cancer guy is out of the competition… there have been so many pimping on that one and absolutely no star quality on him. just 19 bands of tweenies can scream for his name at the end of the day. love the sound of the waitress and the single mom and the girl with the alzheimer’s grandma…

    I saw on pulse music board that on the Billboard projection chart that Danny’s single is predicted to be #39 on Billboard this week. I think that Danny might end up with a Top 40 Country Billboard hit this week in addition to a Top 40 Country hit on mediabase. :)

    Danny’s album moved up a little more on Itunes. It’s still #13 on the Country albums chart, but is now #130 on the overall album Itunes chart, I believe that this is the highest it has been on the overall album chart on Itunes.

    I watched Idol tonight. There was a very sad moment for me–my daughter’s friend Jesse Barry and Vanessa the country girl were both in the second group of 8–and both eliminated during the first round. They showed Jesse crying–but didn’t show her audition–again! At least Vanessa got to ride in a air-o-lane, but you could tell she was really out of her element. Andrew Garcia, one of my favorites, was also in that same group and it appeared he might have been the only one who made it to the next round. There were also a couple of moments that made me angry–Randy compared his Andrew to Adam (wtf?) but not to Danny, who he is MUCH more like! Randy is so clueless. Also, when Jesse, Vanessa, and the rest of that group were eliminated, they played WHTM–the Rascal Flatts version! Danny’s is SOOOO much better! Why wouldn’t they have used his, since he was on Idol–and why did Randy compare Andrew to Adam, who he isn’t anything like at all? Those two things I really felt were dissing Danny–even though they probably weren’t meant to.

    I was impressed by a couple of the girls–Lilly Scott and Crystal Bowersox (who reminds me of a female Jason Castro, dreads and all)–I guess I like the quirky, folksy girls. Didi Benami reminds me SO much of Brooke White–and seems just as fragile. I wonder how long she will last. Not feeling Ashley Rodriguez AT ALL–to me, she’s just another Mariah Carey/Leona Lewis/Alicia Keys diva-type. I just found her boring.
    Justin didn’t do so well–he showed no personality or stage presence in Hollywood at all. Oh well.

    My last comment is in moderation- WTH? I have not been too defensive or attacked anyone personally; I just do not understand her “rules” sometimes.
    And I am so tired of that Kris fan, “girlygirl”. The several times a day chart update on LLWD is so annoying (she’d never last at TWOP, lol). And she so obviously tries to get her little digs in at Danny about sales, chart position etc etc., where is he on the overall itunes chart, etc.

    He doesn’t really remind me of Danny, but he definitely doesn’t remind me of Adam. I think that sometimes he kind of sounds like the Adam Levine from Maroon 5. Also I enjoyed Casey James Blues Guitar playing.

    Hey everybody – lots of great Danny news today. It’s a beautiful day to be a Danny fan :) (even with a snow storm outside). Love all the excitement here!

    I am getting my voting done and have preordered the cd on itunes, yipeeee!! It’s still hanging around at #13 on the itunes country list. The short clips are sounding great. I am loving, I mean really loving, Get Away. That has top single written all over it. I hope we get that one later on, after MBD runs it’s natural course and we get a heart tugging ballad to swoon over first.

    Hi Gokeyguy, I did watch the Madison FOX 47 interview on Danny. It was a really nice, long piece where they showed clips from idol and weaved in Danny’s answers to questions about Ellen, whether he’s dating again (not yet–with a longer answer), his experience during Hollywood week, his new album and they posted the date of the CD party (although they said it was on a Friday, the 6th.) And they announced his touring with Sugarland. I’m hoping they post in on their website soon. I don’t remember all that Danny said–since I saw Ed and I at least 2 times (since they used footage from the Q106.3 concert) –with a short part of my interview, so it threw off my concentration, LOL Jan

    Big thanks to Julie for the alert and to Steph for the link to the UK Amazon site where one could hear song clips from Danny’s album! I listened to all only once and now after doing so, I am even more anxious to hear that album! Just one listen to each song we haven’t heard before was a tease to make me want it MORE and want it NOW! :D

    If there was any twang there in some of those songs, I didn’t pick up on it which means I must be getting used to country music by now. And such must be the case because I just bought Lady Antebellum’s new album last week, and today I ended up buying Josh Turner’s new album! And am liking both very much!     Erika, thanks for the news about Danny opening for Sugarland in Columbia, MD! That would be closer for me than State College, PA since we live close to the PA/MD state line. Just wondering how easy it will be to get decent seats with Sugarland’s fan club offering a pre-sale to it’s members. We attended a concert in that venue about 15 years ago and we were so far in the back that it was impossible for me to see the stage with my limited vision. And I don’t think they have the jumbo TV screens there as it’s not an arena venue. I might have to dig around for more information on this one…..

    And Erika, I will be thinking of you and hoping things work out with your immigration problem. I hope there will be a loophole you can crawl through to escape being deported :( We need you here!

    Gokeyguy, I’m not sure any of the Danny songs I’ve heard are good “going home” songs–although MBD could be used as one, and has a nice upbeat message rather than a depressing one. It’s a possibility. I definitely think It’s Only would be the PERFECT song for IGB night. How awesome if he gets to sing TWICE on the show!

    I really loved Ellen as a judge. She was funny but much nicer than I thought she would be.

    No, I’m not getting deported, Shirl. I’d never stay in a country illegally. I have a valid student visa till next year but, with the changes on immigration law, I’m arriving to the conclusion that is not worth it to stay here, paying the shitload of money that I pay for my course because it’ll be nearly impossible to get permanent residency by the end of it. I don’t enjoy my course and I’m just studying it because it’d allow me to apply for residency. Not anymore, though. They changed the rules and now I have to get a full time job in the area by the end of the course and get an employer to sponsor me. That’s a tall order, since the offer of professionals in the area is in excess and it’s a long process that no employer wants to go through.

    Pam, lol. I debated answering but it was too funny to watch as she’s all dithering about it. I do think both Kris and Adam will have some set of concerts this year, whether a full tour I don’t know.
    To me, Kris always seems more suited for smaller venues, so maybe a club tour / college tour would work for him. And Adam is putting himself into a very specific niche that won’t work with everybody, plus not sure how many other acts would want Adam with them if he’d keep pulling as much media attention as he sometimes did. Not to mention any antics like at the AMAs. Just look at what happened with Kris.

    I have seen all kinds of defensiveness between Adam and Kris fans; yet when Danny fans defend, we (me) get thrown in moderation. I really have no idea why, except I’ve been posting a lot today there (snow day, lol!).

    And the haters do seem to be very selective. Poor windmills, who I thought was the big country purist and historian, turns out to be a Carrie fan, and also apparently of Sugarland. Neither of whom I’d consider all that traditional country, especially Sugarland.

    I think it’s safe to comment on AI, since I’m on the West Coast and we are three hours behind everyone. Of course, the show is not over yet, but I still like Katie and Andrew so far. I was a little disappointed in Haeley (sp?) (or Holly?), the African-American girl who wants to do country-rock. Her audition really impressed me (although she got good advice about not imitating other artists). I found her guitar-playing distracting. I think it took away from her vocals. I’m glad she got through, though. I also liked Casey (guy with blond ponytail). But then I like the blues! (Really surprised Simon didn’t nix him. I remember the snarky comment Simon made about the jazz singer.)

    Actually, the hate against Danny on sites like MJSBlog – used to be A LOT worst. Yet the haters never had any impact on Danny’s career. He was very popular on the tour. He was signed to a record deal with a major label and had producer Mark Bright work on his first album. And his label gave Danny the biggest compliment any new artist can have – by sending him out on tour with a big time Country group. And Danny just made the Top 40 Country chart.

    Obviously, 19E, RCA Nashville, Mark Bright, Sugarland, Brian Mansfield, the legit Country music media, all the DJ’s that are playing MDB, etc. aren’t listening to any of that nonsense.

    LOL. I get such a kick out of some of these people.
    Windmills seems to scorn “Crossover” artists- well Carrie is the queen of that.
    And “sweet” lil Mary, lol. She acts all apologetic with her “Oh, I’m just worried about Adam touring” act, then conveniently pulls up Idolatry interviews with exact minutes marked with DAnny! Hater- BUSTED.

    Ellen, I liked Casey and Andrew tonight; already picked up fan numbers at AI forums, lol. Lots of Gokey Gang members like those two. As well as DiDi.

    random question again. sorry to bother everyone with questions. if I were to get down there, how would I know who’s from here? I don’t know anyone from on here, but I would love to meet you all.
