Danny went back down to #41 on the 7 Day Rolling chart, so it looks like he will be #41 again this week on the published chart. But the good news is that he’s up 75 spins for the week, so I believe eventually he will make Top 40.

I am hoping he gets more adds tomorrow too, that will help push him into the Top 40. I think that he will make Top 40 before his album drops. And hopefully once he makes Top 40 on the published chart, he will stay in the Top 40 and keep moving up.

You know I’m not always realistic, but I’m thinking Danny will be making the top 40 this week!
So much good stuff in store for Danny (and all of us) Hopefully we’ll hear more details on the TV appearances, etc.
My husband and I think he will sing I Will Not Say Goodbye on American Idol. Normally, you’d think his new single, but everyone that hears that song goes “wow” or “beautiful” –like the DJ that said that Danny had sucked the air out of the room with that song!

Do you think his video may be added to VH1′s playlist? They sometimes have country songs. Carrie Underwood’s song is in the Top 20. Currently Kris and Adam’s singles are at #1 and 2 on VH1.
I love Danny’s song Get Away. Does anyone have the lyrics to this? Danny definitely has some rocker in him.
I just read yesterday’s posts. Maryann wrote this, and it’s worth repeating:

I was catching up on the posts at TWOP. Kris is getting a lot more hate there these days than Danny is, probably from jealous Adam fans pissed that LLWD is #1 on VH1 and WWFM is only #2. It’s like the finale all over again.

I’m not 100% certain but I think that the 7 Day Rolling chart for Sunday is usually identical to the published chart that comes out Sunday evening. I think that Danny will be #41 on the published chart this week.
I think that songs that are going recurrent will go recurrent tomorrow and be taken off the list tomorrow. When I looked at the charts on pulse from last week, I saw that she was on the Sunday updated chart, but was gone from the monday morning 7 Day Chart. So I think that Danny will be #41 this week but might be #40 tomorrow if at least one song on the chart goes recurrent.
Maybe Danielle and Lizzy might know a little more about this?

That Evanjane (I recognize that name; perhaps they have posted negatively about Danny in the past?) is trying to minimize Danny’s tour with Sugarland at MJs by saying Sugarland is with Keith Urban for 30 tours and Danny is only for four (well, actually 5 have been confirmed; plus Danny said they were starting to tour in April so I’m sure there are more).
Facts are facts; but there is something wrong with human nature when they make an effort to try and put someone else down or minimize their achievements. I suppose it stems from jealousy but still…………

I don’t think that Danny’s video will be added to VH-1′s playlist anytime soon, because I think the only country songs they play are the ones that crossover and get a good amount of airplay on HAC/Top 40 stations.
Also Danny being up 75 spins is definitely good for Danny. I think this might be the highest he’s even been up in spins for the week.
And I really do think that the hate that Kris is getting at TWOP is being done by like one or two people with multiple accounts. The writing styles of the “haters” look very similar to me and they are basically saying the same stuff over and over again. I don’t think that it’s a lot of jealous Adam fans doing that, just a couple of immature trolls who don’t like Kris.

Plus, they seemed to know Danny’s “4 dates scheduled so far” (they missed the 5th I guess!)- certainly not common knowledge if you are “not a country fan”, so IMO they were searching for ways to downplay his awesome tour news. Maybe not a hater; just a fan of another who is a little jealous?
It would be great if Danny toured with Keith also! I think all the lady fans of Keith would love Danny too. Plus he has a lot of young fans.

Good day everyone! Pam the close ups I am glad you liked it, I was doing it for all the iheart ladies since that has been a discussion here before. OK so I am already thinking ahead I have my eye on the May 8th Colorado Springs concert since that is a confirmed DG performance. Never been there and it is my birthday so what better way to celebrate it than a Danny concert. Tickets go on sale next Friday. It is a really pretty area and would love to see it. I am starting my search of things to do in the area and with a possible 2 night stay. Who wants to join me. There is plenty of time to save for it.
And if by some miracle another meet n greet would happen that would be the best birthday ever. I wonder if I am going thru a midlife crisis with all this obsession this has never happened to me before. Sorry for all the excitement.

Jan, we had somewhere close to 3 feet of snow here, with drifts close to waist-high in some places. Not that much for areas up north, I know, but for us mid-atlantic wimps we’re not used to it, lol.
I’m still shoveling out. Almost almost have enough cleared out to eke my car out to the road. One more trip outside with the shovel, I think.

Steph – I am taking you up on sending our recap other places if you think of anywhere DM me. Thank you for the great comments on the recap it was mostly written by Jan she did such a great job although we forgot to mention that right before Danny went on stage Billy Kidd from WBEE sent a shout out to the Wisconsin fans that travelled to see the show that was really nice of him to do that. Also bosman, Thank you so much for the very nice comment about my video filming abilities well I have no experience this is a new camera for me and I discovered that night that I can zoom in and out while recording without disturbing the video other cameras I have had before it all goes blurry. I want you all to know that tomorrow night a friend who has a lot more experience with IT related issues will be coming over to my house to teach me and help me with uploading of these videos since I have more that you would all enjoy and they need to be converted to smaller files while maybe hoping to keep the same quality. I had to tell this friend exactly what and who the videos are about and he said “I remember Danny” so maybe we have another fan who has not known what Danny has been up to now but he will after tomorrow night.

Jan and I had said that we would also like to go to a concert in Nashville and it would be great to see him at the Opry but I really cannot go to the one in March unless I have another crazy last minute moment and just do it (Jan!!!). Toni, I don’t have any real reason to be in Nashville next month. It’s my birthday that weekend, though. Hmm, maybe need a little treat, right?
It was quite an easy trip from here when I went a few weeks ago, and I did enjoy seeing the Opry show. Just it was soooo cold down there.
I think this next time he may not be at the Ryman, but is at the Opry resort complex? I drove by there to kill a little time on my way to the airport. It was interesting, seemed to be basically a big mall / resort complex with all newer buildings. Not something old/historic as you’d imagine the Opry to be.
It was good for Danny to debut at the older Ryman building I think, that was right in Nashville, and much prettier looking from the exterior at least.

I am zeroing in on the ticket pre-sales for the Camden stadium hosting Danny and Sugarland on 5/15. Can’t afford the mega ticket, much as I wish I could. So, I am focusing on the pre-sales. Thursday morning at 10AM in case you are listening Ms. Steph!

Jan, I think it’s best that the radio station contacts come from people in their local markets. But maybe if you know Danny friends in those areas, you could ask them? Or bribe relatives, children? lol.
Probably the biggest markets would have the greatest impact, but any that will play his song a lot should help.
Will have to try again here myself with the DC and Baltimore stations. Last time I emailed the DJ who interviewed Danny in late Jan, she answered me but it was just a short thanks. Not nearly as chatty as the other two male DJs who had answered before

I honestly don’t think anyone is waiting for Kris and Adam to announce their tour plans first. I just think that there is so much going on with Danny right now. He is getting ready launch the first album in his career. And I assume they have the work the tour schedule with all the ongoing promotional activities that still needs to happen. For example, it’s just as important that he gets a great spot on Season 9 to make his comeback performance.
And when think about it, Danny is actually ahead when it comes to the tour. Kris and Adam have had their albums out for a couple of mos now, and they are now just planning their tours. And I have yet to hear of any tour plans re Allison.

So I was just looking up all the radio stations in NYS and I
noticed that my son’s college he went to has a radio station so I called them and asked for MBD he said he would play it but it sounded like he had to do some searching for it and he asked me who I wanted it to dedicate it and I said to all the students and actually it is a perfect song for college students.
Will these also count as adds? since I would think most universities have radio stations, I will continue with my mission.

I think Danny’s just not able to say anything about his tour until RCA puts out a press release, which presumably had to follow the official Sugarland press release which was only late last week, I think?
I’m thinking we’ll see it from Danny’s team this week since the news is leaking out anyway, and he did tweet to look for it “soon.”
Don’t know why it would need to wait until after Kris or Adam. I haven’t even seen a solid rumor about a US tour plan for either of them, just scattered dates here and there. For Adam, did I see he’s got a UK tour coming up?

I asked a couple of times at mj’s (trying to be polite) about any tour rumors for Allison. Got dead silence back. mj did have a post with a video interview of Allison that mentioned “tour.” I wasn’t interested enough to play it, but what I did see gave me an impression it was just talking about a few dates here and there and the Kradison concert in NY.
Just thought I’d let you all know Danny has begun answering fan questions submitted at DGO on his official YouTube site. Nothing huge, but cute. In case anyone wants to check it out.

FOGS I beleive the chart that we see today is the final chart for the week as it is dated the 6th which is the close. I do believe George Strait will drop off Mondays chart as that song is in freefall and he has a new one coming up.

On the Mediabase Country chart, I see a song higher on the chart than another song with a higher number of spins and higher auduence impressions. How is this possible?
This chart is not sorted based on spins or the Mediabase audience impressions. Instead, the chart is sorted by a point value given to each song which is determined by a separate station weightings along with the spin count for each station. This point system is a carryover from when R&R used Mediabase data before it was acquired by Billboard’s parent company. Sometimes, the station weightings for audience impressions and the station weightings for points are significantly different. This can result in a song that has a high audience impressions value on Mediabase, but has a low point total for the chart. So, a higher number of spins and higher audience impressions does not guarantee being higher on this Mediabase chart.

Hi Danip – thanks for the charts explanation. This is something I am really curious about. Do you know how the station weightings for points is determined? It would be nice to know which stations will have the biggest impact for Danny rising on the charts.

Hey Steph – just a follow up to the question about whether Sugarland will be touring with Keith Urban. I am a HUGE KU fan (the only other artist I ever joined a fan club for) and he did do some concerts with Sugarland last year but to the best of my knowledge he will only be touring on a limited basis this year (darn). Mostly fairs and big festivals for him as he will be working on his next album this year. I think Sugarland might be at a couple of the festivals with him but so will lots of other acts. Much as I would absolutely LOVE to see Danny open for KU, I would be really be surprised if that happens this year.
BTW-if you ever have a chance to see KU in concert, do it! You will not be disappointed!

Bright, bright sunshine today! Left home to go to church with my usual winter outfit: raincoat, scarf, and gloves. Immediately ripped off the scarf and gloves. When I got out of the car, I unzipped my raincoat. Then about 5 seconds later ripped off the coat as well. Have no idea what the temperature is, but it’s warm enough to go coatless. Even saw a young guy wearing shorts!
I’m not saying this to make the snowbound jealous. On the contrary, this is creepy! And I know we’ll pay for it later, when the trees, etc., start to bloom way earlier then they should, and then we get normal weather later, causing damage to crops. This level of sun in February in Oregon is not supposed to happen!

Steph, I grew up in PA, so I know about snow! And I lived in the Midwest for a long time and we got snow there too. Actually, there probably in plenty of snow in Oregon, too — in the Coast and Cascade Mountains, etc. Just need to drive to it. But not so much here in the Willamette Valley. Dare I say that there are times when I miss the snow and cold?
Honest Steph, I would volunteer to help you shovel if I was there! I actually enjoy shoveling snow as long as I have an ergonomic shovel and the right outwear (so that I don’t overheat).
Hi Ellen – I’m glad you are enjoying a nice day in Oregon. It’s a pretty nice day in WI, too. Cold but quiet. I think our East Coast ihearties are all busy with the snow today. I don’t mind shoveling if it’s within reason, 5 or 6 inches. It’s the heavy, wet 10+ inches that makes me dread it!
I agree, Milgokey. Some snow is nice but a lot of snow is not. I think the East Coast (esp. Mid-Atlantic region), got socked! That’s no fun. I do like to shovel (with the caveats above) because it makes me feel alive. But I’ve never seen more than 6-8″ of snow in the Willamette Valley since I moved to Oregon a decade ago. I do remember shoving 18-19″ in the Midwest (and I had a long driveway at the time). That was a slog! After finishing, I was hot and sweaty, so I went inside to clean up, and a plow drug came by and sealed the driveway shut. It was packed down and icy — not shovel-able. A coworker who was able to get out of his driveway took me to work that day. Eventually I hired someone with heavier equipment to unblock the driveway entrance. (I’d done the rest of the drive.) Anyway, I lived in a duplex and my neighbors — two young strapping early twentysomethings — used MY clean driveway to get to THEIR driveway, with not so much as a thank-you. GRR!
Anyway, off to enjoy the sunshine. BBL!

the funniest thing is I had this hanging snow sculpture on one side of the car where the wind had pushed snow across and it had stuck off the side of the car floating mostly free in the air. Must have been 3 ft high parallel with the top of the car down half-way to the driver side door. Very weird looking. I was a little worried shoveling that it was going to fall on my til I eventually knocked it down.
I think they measured something like 30-36″ in my town, and higher of course where snow drifts piled up. I only shoveled just enough to wriggle my car (carefully) down the driveway. Still, that was a lot. Yesterday I just did enough to be able to walk out to the road with my dog.

Milgokey- I believe the stations rank determines the point value assessed, then the time of day song is played factors in, that’s why it is important to get the top market stations.
I was looking today and Luke Bryan was played on the 20 top stations compared to Danny on 10.

Danny’s only 50 pts or so behind the corn song according to the chart, I think? Maybe he can overtake it even though Luke would be the more proven artist right now. It’s really not that great a song. If you like country songs about beer and whiskey, there’s a lot better ones

Betty, the “status” column shows whether or not Danny’s song has been added to the playlist of that station or not. If it has been added, it’s green. If it has not been added, it’s red or yellow. The difference there is that the red ones are stations that are monitored by mediabase for the purposes of his ranking. The yellow ones are not monitored, they are considered “secondary” markets. It’s still great for Danny to get played on those though, it helps promote and sell the song.
About snowmobiling, I went once with my best friend up in Whistler BC (we were at a business conference together). It was so scary! I crashed twice and he had to pull me and the snowmobile out from where I landed. I think we were both happy when that little expedition was over with!

That does sound intriguing. The only dates I’ve seen that are part of Sugarland’s new concert series where Danny hasn’t been listed so far, were those where Vonda Shepard is the other act and Vonda seems to be by herself (no Luke, Jake, Julianne, Danny). If Luke, Jake or Julianne were listed, Danny was with them. There weren’t any Jake/Julianne or other variations.
Vonda’s name sounded vaguely familiar, looked her up. She’s not country at all, she’s pop/rock and her main claim to fame seemed to be singing songs used on the Ally McBeal tv show from some years back.
If Danny will be at 50 of the tour dates, that is very exciting. Esp when one is in my hometown. Hopefully the tour is well designed to protect the performer’s voices after what happened last year with Jennifer.

Was just over at mjs, I never thought I would see the day when she would have to close a Carrie thread to stop the fighting! It’s the one that shows Carrie doing the NA – she did really well and looked beautiful. Not perfect, went a bit off at the end (I doubt if she could hear herself), but good job and huge kudos to her for doing it live. A poster commented that Adam would have done it better and of course all hell broke loose. You just have to shake your head sometimes.

Carrie did sound off on the very last part of the NA, and not quite as good as what I heard in an earlier video today from her sound check. But in general, she sounded fine to me.
And about eight million times better than the one of Kris from the other week, which some of the peeps jumping in to complain were probably raving about.

I think having the video out has helped and with some decent adds tomorrow he should gain some steady ground in the coming weeks.
Out of curiosity I checked Easton Corbin’s progress on the charts last week. He is a new guy and his song Little More Country Than That is at 11 on this chart. That song has been on the charts for over 20 weeks and is still sloooowly climbing. He was getting between 2 and 5 adds most weeks. Just think how patient his fans have to be!

A lot of country songs definitely do take a while to move up to high places on the charts.
I like Easton’s song “A little more Country than that”. He is also releasing his CD the same day that Danny is releasing his.
I think that as long as Danny’s keeps getting adds, he will have a strong chance of increasing in spins and moving up the chart. He has been getting a decent amount of adds each week, and I hope that this continues.
There are still several stations including some of the ones with high market ranks who haven’t added him yet. But hopefully they will start adding his song to their stations.

I am hoping that his entering the top 40 will be the impetus for a lot of adds from big stations. I have never followed someone’s career like this before so I’m learning about how it works as it happens, but it seems logical to me that it would work that way for a new artist. I know that there are all kinds of factors that would go into it, but entering the top 40 seems as if it would be an important milestone.

Thanks for pointing out the spreadsheet on stations that have not added MBD–I had no idea all I had to do was click on it, LOL! I will be ON WMAD 96.3FM about adding MBD! Just minutes ago, Q106.3 just played it. But I don’t usually listen to 96.3 because they play the same songs, over and over–very tight rotation. But I’ve emailed and called them back during the CMAs when I discovered they had interviewed Danny in Nashville, but hadn’t posted it on their website. They told me to be patient. So I jumped ship and got lucky with Q106.3. (That’s were I won the radio tour tickets.)

Also, Danny will likely be also doing a lot of the mainstream media (the talk show circuit) during this time to promote his album. They haven’t done a lot of that yet. I’m sure he will be on Ellen, since Ellen and Danny are now also employed by 19. Probably Regis and Kelly, since he was really popular the last time he appeared.
He definitely should be on one of the late night talk shows (i.e., The Tonight Show). And definitely one of the network morning shows. But wouldn’t it be ironic if Danny gets GMA. I can see the Glamberts with their claws out, lol.

Shirl, MIT is MYIdolTown from AI Forums and a Gokey Gang member. Also on Twitter. She seems to frequently have insider scoops on what is going on with all the Idols. She is from California. I asked her once how she managed to get all the scoops and she just said she was a good internet detective; but I still think she has some sort of connection
because of the stuff she comes up with.
She had posted on another forum tonight that Danny would be with Sugarland for at least 50 of the 55 tour stops and that some of them had Danny opening solo for Sugarland without the other ‘special guests’.
Of course, we don’t know if that is true; but it is exciting to speculate about!

Pam, the only way I’ll be able to hear is if I connect from a computer and listen “live” or if they post it to twitter. Only the Information Tech guy and I are in the office between 7 and 7:30 AM each morning.
I will definitely be at a Milwaukee concert if I can get tickets! The only difficulty I have is that I am commonly scheduled for multiple meetings almost every work day–and sometimes I’m out of town. (Like I’m suppose to be in Wausau the few days around Danny’s CD release–geesh!)

It’s fantastic to hear how Danny is climbing the charts. Watched the AI season 9 over the weekend and nobody has caught my attention so far. We bought a fantastic new TV with very good audio qualities and we watched Danny’s old AI performances few times and he is just so good.. We recorded the season 8 and keep watching the season highlights quite often.

Oh by the way, I may not be as good at predictions as Latrece, but please see my prediction at 11:41 this morning that Danny would break the top 40 this week…..His career is picking up speed, lets just hang on and enjoy it!

How high do you think Danny will get on the charts?
It might be kind of fun to do a poll (no one can pick the same number!) and see who gets the closest. Although I don’t think we have any prizes.
I am agreeing he will intro a new song on AI; just not sure if it will be IWNSGB (but I haven’t heard it…….)

Jannikas, I think you may be right about Danny singing WNSG on AI, especially is TPTB are considering it as the second single.
Pam, at least one of Danny’s songs will get really high on the charts ( top 5, or even higher ), but I’ve got a feeling that Danny will release more than one successful single from his album.

One last post— I think IWNSGB will be a #1 hit for Danny. I’m going to go with #14 for MBD. I think there will be other hits from this album.
