In less than a year, Danny Gokey has gone from an unknown music teacher to a household name.
“The last year has been like a tornado. It’s a whirlwind. Things have been going 90 to nothing,” Gokey said.
The Milwaukee native finished in third place on “American Idol”.
He’s just over a month away from releasing his debut album.
With his record label in Nashville, Gokey is finding a balance between his personal and professional lives.
“Just purchasing a house actually in Milwaukee. I’m going to live between Nashville and Milwaukee because of my foundation,” Gokey said.
The foundation was named after his wife, Sophia, who died following a battle with heart disease.
Gokey calls music a universal language, a way to enhance learning.
Music and the arts are part of the Sophia Heart Foundation.
“It’s just been an amazing experience. And I’m just so excited for what has happened. I can’t complain. If I were to complain, someone slap me,” Gokey said.
Gokey’s new single is already out.
His first album will be released March 2.

Danny Gokey’s music video to be added to “GAC Top 20 Country Countdown” on Feb 1

We received a comment here informing us that Danny’s video for ‘My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me’ will be added to the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown voting ballot on Monday, Feb. 1, starting about 10 am ET.

You may only vote once each day per IP (Internet Protocol) address (i.e., once per computer or other electronic device capable of accessing the Internet). Any manipulation of this voting rule will result in the artist being penalized with a reduction in their vote total.

SO GO TO “GAC TOP 20 COUNTRY COUNTDOWN” AND VOTE FOR DANNY FROM FEB 1 ON, BUT ONLY ONCE A DAY!!!

B104.7 (Syracuse, NY): Danny Gokey to visit next week + CMA Week Interview

Danny may have gone back to Nashville and then to Milwaukee to attend the Faith Builders International Ministries meeting tonight but he’ll be back in NY next week to continue his radio promo tour.

Besides performing at Nola’s for WBEE (Rochester, NY) on Feb 2nd (after passing through Cincinnati, OH in the morning) [check the upcoming events], he’ll also stop by radio station B104.7 (Syracuse, NY) some day next week, according to B104.7′s Facebook page.

American Idol’s Danny Gokey is stopping by B104.7 for a visit this week! We haven’t seen him since our CMA broadcast, so we’ll get caught up when we talk to him on the air. And we’ll invite a bunch of you to come in to meet him and hear a few songs too. Pretty cool.

You remember that we posted about this concert a couple of days ago but the station released some more info.

You cheered for him during Season 8 as a finalist on FOX’s American Idol!  Now Danny Gokey is hitting the road to promote his debut album–’My Best Days.’  Danny will be doing a FREE show this Tuesday (2/2) at Nola’s BBQ (4775 Lake Avenue) in Charlotte!!  Doors open at 6pm with Paul Cummings taking the stage at 7pm and then Danny will debut his new material beginning at 8pm.

All ages show.
Under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 21+

Right now in the I Love My Country Club, you can enter to win a pair of Meet & Greet Passes with Danny Gokey after his performance that night at Nola’s!!  Entry deadline is Monday (2/1) at Noon.  Fifteen winners will be notified via fan club email alerts before 5pm on Monday (2/1).  Station’s General Contest Rules Apply.  Courtesy of RCA Records.
