Aww, that Danny is so adorable. He makes faces just like a little boy. He’s not immature in the slightest, but he has the innocent honesty of a child and that’s one of the reasons I love him. I just want to give him a big hug and never let go.

Steph, Michael J at WMZQ in DC just (liked 2 minutes ago) played My Best Days AGAIN this morning. I am thrilled – he has played it for me twice – not sure if he broke the rules again or they added it to their playlist. I am about to send him another email thanking him. YAY!!! I’m telling you guys that persistence at your local country radio stations pays off. I had been nicely asking WMZQ in DC to play Danny’s new single every morning and nicely told them I would keep asking till they played it. They finally played it yesterday and then again today. Requesting it WORKS – don’t give up.

Mr. Bing, I think he heads out Monday again. He is at his church here in Milwaukee tonight. I”d go if I didn’t have traditional New Year’s eve plans with friends. I suppose a lot of people have plans; that will probably keep crowds manageable at Faith Builders.

The top 4 show which makes somebody’s list as one of the better tv episodes from this year.

Claudia, it just started snowing here where I live. I am having family over we are ordering Chinese food and watching a movie(?) and playing games and waiting to midnight together. We have never had chinese food on NYE before. I just saw on my main MSN page Lucky Foods for New Year, does anyone have any traditions? Italian traditions are lentils and a sort of salami (cotechino)for prosperity.
I was really happy to see Danny did good with first week sales considering Christmas and Pam you are right there are so many fans out there that don’t even know that he has a single out there like I said a few posts back 3 people in my office liked him very much and never knew until I mentioned it. Thank you Tonic! Although I’m not quite sure what “belated birthday” means? When I read the DM this morning(it’s midnight here now~), I was at work! I was sooo thrilled, but still have to control my face! I couldn’t laugh too hard or people would think I’m crazy…

Oh and Toni, you can find the Regis and Kelly interview and performance under the May archives at this site. I browsed through it last night and I was amazed at all the good stuff. (Some of the links don’t work anymore, but many do.)
One last thing, my mom is doing very well. Unfortunately with her lung issues she may have to stay on supplemental oxygen for the rest of her life (she was a cigarette smoker for 65 years!)

I saw some of them complaining that Danny had blocked them too. A while ago, when a lot of people attacked Danny on Twitter, because of the picture thing with Adam, he ended up blocking a lot of them. Then a few of them got their Twitter friends to beg Danny to unblock them and he did.
One of the people on Twitter who got blocked asked her followers to Tweet Danny to ask him to unblock her. I don’t know why they send foolish/nasty tweets to Danny thinking he would like that sort of thing.

Just noticed Danny changed his twitter info. I’d seen a few days ago that he had the web URL going to SHF, and wondered if really career-wise he should make it his own official site.
He now has it repointed to the OS, and also has updated his twitter bio to read: 19/RCA Nashville Recording artist ~ I have 2 passions: Music and Helping People. It’s not Religious, it’s not Political…it’s only Love!”
I think that’s smart, but I hope he’ll continue to keep control of his twitter messages himself for the most part.

I just watched the interview of Danny at Star 104.3–although it’s a Hot AC station, they really love him there. Was this a newer interview–it seemed different from the last time he interviewed there. So I’m wondering if he might have been here again recently? (He seems to haunt this area a lot!) I will probably run into him someday by accident! Anyway…I would not be surprised if Star 104.3 is one of the first non-country stations who add him to their playlist since they all seem to adore him there, and the interviewer was saying Danny has a huge fanbase in Asheville! (well, where are they? I want to meet these neighbors of mine who love Danny).
The picture up above is one of my very favorites of him. His hair was perfect, and I loved his thrown-together lost luggage outfit. He can rock a plain white tee and a vest. The man certainly has style. Remember the big white Antartic expedition jacket he wore for JTTW and some of his other early goofy getups? He has certainly learned what looks best on him since then. I think Danny has discovered he really enjoys looking good.
Such a sweet tweet from Danny today. He loves us! I was very touched. I believe him, I think he appreciates all of us who have supported him. I’ll never forget his sweet DM to me thanking me for believing in him after reading my blog article.
Lulu, once again, I am thrilled for you for getting a DM last night! I would have loved to see your face. It feels so great when you realize he knows you as an individual actually exist and the love is not just one sided.
I love this man so much. I’m a fan for life.

There is something about Danny that just touches me so much and always has. He is very easy to love. I think it’s his sincerity, gratitude, vulnerability, sweetness, and lack of cynicism (so rare and refreshing in someone of his generation (who are known to be rather cynical and hard edged). I think it has something to do with being somewhat sheltered all his life, even while in the midst of an urban area. I think his church and family surrounded him with a protective barrier of love that kept all the negative things in the world from touching him very much. He may have been somewhat overprotected. But Danny is smart, taking in all the good things the world could offer but filtering out the negative. There;s a sweetness about him that’s a little old fashioned but is very attractive–almost a kind of Jimmy Stewart vibe, if you know what I mean. It’s so rare to see someone like that today. Some haters may hate him because they can’t believe he could possibly be for real–and that’s why they think his honestly and earnestness are insincere, because they’re not used to someone like that being the real deal. It’s a sad state of the world we live in today that people can’t believe someone like Danny could possibly be sincere.

Tonic, I didn’t know you were Italian either. I’m originally from NJ/NY and there are a lot of Italians there and I always loved them. My mother loves Italy (she is actually second-generation Irish, her mother came over during the potato famine) and has become fluent in the language. She travels to Italy whenever she can (less often now since the economy has hit her prety bad, as it has almost everyone else.) She is unable to retire, even though she is in her 70s, and is working as a clerk in the makeup department of a Chicago department store. It’s hard for someone her age to even find work. She wants to retire (and her dream is to move to Italy–she loves Tuscany in particular) but she can’t.
My first boyfriend in high school was Italian. His family was the stereotypical big Italian family with a strong mother and grandmother who had huge dinners every Sunday after Mass with all the relatives there, a grandfather who was active as a deacon in their Catholic church, and every year they actually had a wine-making party in their basement. Everyone got a turn crushing grapes for their homemade wine. My family, being smallish and scattered and my parents being divorced, seemed at the time rather pitiful. I remember feeling like his family was more of a family to me than my own, and I wanted to be at their house all the time, not so much to be with my boyfriend (who was kind of a jerk actually) but with his wonderful and lively family, who always made me feel so welcome and fed me all the time.

Just got feedback from a Muslim friend to whom I had sent Danny’s song “Oh Holy Night.” (She obviously doesn’t celebrate Christmas; I wonder what I said to her to explain the odd link?) Anyway, this is what she said:
“I listened to the song you told me about and enjoyed it very much.”

Even though this isn’t Danny related, I think it’s appropriate for the end of the year, somehow. It’s an AI promo made by a fan named Idolwatcher on IDF–and is more powerful and emotional than any of the real promos I have seen.
The choice of Whitney Houston singing this beautiful song is the perfect backdrop for watching all 8 winners’ journeys to the win. The only thing missing was Danny as the season 8 winner–that would have made it perfect. Made me kind of regret his not winning all over again–but I’m still glad he didn’t.
Idol fans really must watch this. It made me cry–especially the Cook parts, natch. I wanted to share this as a sort of New Years gift.

I was checking the Pulse Music board and for whatever it is worth – they are predicting Danny to be at #51 on Billboards Hot Country songs next week. That would be up 2 spots if they are correct and going in the right direction.

Also, if you recently bought Danny’s single from Itunes, please make sure you rate it and write a review. Right now there is a horrible review with one star at the top for everyone to see. We need to get that pushed down and out of sight.

Just got home from a nice evening with family and friends. Sleet and freezing rain here in PA so I’m thankful we got home safe and sound.
Hopefully, in time to wish everyone on iheart a wonderful New Year in 2010. So many of you have become good friends and I have Danny to thank for that. Everyone here is really great and I love you all. Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year and I know we are all hoping for bigger and better things for Danny.
