I‘d listened to all the danny songs during my weekend，while i was listening ，i thinked a lot about his journey since the show.Cant believe his MV of debut single is around the Corner.it’s been almost an year since i know this nice people.the show；the tour；Contract with the records；the SHF；the release of “it’s only”；the radio tour；and now the MV of “MBD”，all these memory just keep showing in my head while i was listening to his music.It’s all good so far apart from
little unpleasant ingredient（i dont know i use the word right）.I bet the good things will keep happening to this nice guy.

Hello there! So nice to see the site active this early on Sunday ( even though it’s already later for Mr.C.Bing and DOGG).
Mr.C.Bing, I followed your advice and cheered up even though I had a lot of tasks around the house. I did end up cleaning the whole house listening to beautiful Xmas music! My only wish was that I really would have wanted to listen to a album full of Xmas songs from Danny! I can just imagine Danny’s power vocals singing the Xmas classics.
Good morning Latrece, I just LOVE the preview on Danny’s music video. He is a natural in the front of the camera and looks really good in that clip.I’m not able to buy Danny’s single yet, but as soon as I can I’ll buy several copies of it for my friends. Couple of my girlfriends who don’t watch AI are actually looking forward to get Danny’s single as a gift, so let’s hope I’m able to purchase it SOON!
Hopefully you are all well despite the fact that the weather is quite horrible, also here in Finland. We had a week of really low temparatures and it was freezing cold. Last night it got warmer, but with the warmer weather came a snowstorm.. Well at least my broad band is still working and I’m inside a warm house listening to Xmas songs and baking cakes!

Hi Mr.C.Bing! Finland is truly a beautiful country and winter days can be amazing as soon as it starts getting lighter and we get more sunny winter days around Feb/March. Xmas time is the darkest time of the year here.
I’m staring to enjoy “I still believe” the more I hear it, but have been listening a lot to the “It’s Only”, especially as it has a strong message, which is so well suited for Xmas.
It must be fun if i can travel around the world especially where there are danny fans.

DOGG, “It’s Only” was the first song that we heard from Danny and the song has a special place in my heart. A collegue of mine from work is spending Xmas Eve with his girlfriend at a homeless shelter serving Xmas dinner etc.

Latrece, you that you are taking it easy today. You’ve been very busy lately. I’m actually finding it quite relaxing taking care of things at home and getting everything ready for Xmas. We are having very basic and present free holidays, just enjoying the peace and quiet and good food and the company of some relatives.

Hannele, DOGGS, Mr. Bing, I have a difficult time choosing which of Danny’s songs I like the most, But I guess if I had to choose, I would choose “It’s Only” and “Tiny Life” those songs hit to the core of humaity, they have so much substance!! I could sit all day and listen to those songs nonstop!!

Amy or Ericka – I don’t know if this can be done but is there any way possible for the 5 songs at the top the page to show up at every screen/page that you go to on the site? For example, I will put on one of the songs and start listening but then as you click to another page or if your posting then the song disappears or you can’t even see the five songs….I don’t know if anyone has asked this before but it would nice while I am spending hours on the site to continually listen to all the Danny songs!

Danny’s “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” numbers on the spincrease chart. For week Dec 13 to Dec 19, Danny’s spins increased by 126 with 36 stations. The leader in increases is Milwaukee (Way to be persistent Milgokeys). The station with the most decreases was Madison (fans in Madison you may want to be persistent like those in Milwaukee cause it worked). The station playing Danny’s song the most is Salt Lake City.

I popped over to MJ’s this mornning and see that Danny’s thread has taken on a life of his own- 102 comments most are positive and not from just us. There is a constructive conversation going on over there and when a desenting opinion comes up it seems be be handled by those that you would least expect. Progress I tell you.
Now on to good news we are now 1 day closer to purchasing Danny’s first single and putting him on the road to follow his dreams.
Morning all. I had my doubts about keeping the Danny thread aliv on MJs but the response has been primarily positive and keeping it going does get the word out about the video and the release tomorrow.
Something to ponder, I know that amazon and itunes both have it available tomorrow. It seems that people pay more attention to itunes ranking so I am planning to purchase via itunes to increase the numbers. Am I correct? Or does it really matter?

I believe that Itunes sells more singles than anyone else. Also when people are looking and posting rankings for different artist’s singles, they tend to post the Itunes rankings the most. I believe that Itunes is more popular, with selling singles, than Amazon is.
They don’t post the Amazon rankings as much for singles. I have noticed that on the different idol sites like mjs people mostly post the Itunes rankings for singles, they rarely ever post any rankings from Amazon.

If I’m not mistaken I think that Danny’s song will go on sale after midnight tonight. I think that is what happened with the other idol’s singles, I think that they went on sale after midnight.

I am not sure how many UK fans know that Danny’s single is on sale today on Amazon UK.

I will admit that I am not educated as it relates to itunes or Amazon, but my assumption is that both itunes and Amazon are going to be considered when looking at the sales of Danny’s Single. The reason for this conclusion, Will the sales for Amazon UK be disregarded?? or will it be included in the total sales?? did Adam’s total sales include sales from the international level or just from the United States??
I do realize that it is important to obtain Danny’s Single from itunes; however, I don’t think it is beneficial to give the impression that Amazon is not important; we do not want the international fans to get the impression that their contribution is not included in the sales number.
Next, I appaud those who go to MJ to present information on Danny and continue to make him visible; however, we must be able to deal with the congregation of hate that is sometimes drawn to Danny like a magnet. I think a lot of the iheart ladies have dealt with this controversy with a lot of persistence and dignity. I do believe that it is important to make Danny visible at the different blog sites where fans are curious. I recognize the need to continue to present a realistic and positive preception of Danny; we want to balance the polarization or misconception; on the other hand, we must accept the fact that we will never rid Danny of all hate, so when we see the hate persisting, let’s not get anxious and loose faith that what we are doing for Danny is in vain!! I notice too many people become too stressed. The hate is a result of fear and ignorance, let’s not give the critics power by feeling hopeless based on some negative comment. Sorry for poor typos!!

I don’t think that the sales that Danny gets internationally will not be counted in the total number of sales that will be reported on sites like mjs.
I don’t know if we will ever get international sales numbers for his single, but if his album is sold internationally we will get the international sales numbers in addition to the US sales numbers.
I think that no matter where fans decide to buy Danny’s single, whether that be Itunes or Amazon, it’s just important that we buy his single.
I do believe that both the Itunes and Amazon sales numbers will be included in the report for the total number of singles that Danny sales. So we just have to make sure that we buy his single, no matter where we choose to buy it at.
And any purchases that the International fans can make is certainly appreciated and needed. We might not get sales totals for Danny’s international sales, but his label will.
And if he ends up selling well internationally, that will definitely benefit him. So international fans definitely feel free to buy his song if you are able to purchase it in your country.

When Danny performed Come Rain or Shine on AI, who was his family guests in the audiance? I think it is his Dad and 3 women–sister in law and cousins? The tall brunette in yellow also stood behind and cheered Danny when he showed his golden ticket after his audition. I think she’s also in the family photo when they did his hometown story with the top 13. Just curious…

Was so nice to meet / see you at Coyote Joe’s, but agree it was waay too loud for any real conversation. I started out hearing ok that night, but an hour or two in of standing in front of those booming speakers — not so much! Was great to see Danny though, he was really awesome.

ps for Amy, that was your sister who was with you? So sorry as with all the noise I never quite caught her name, and wasn’t sure if she was a friend and/or someone else who also posts online that I should recognize.
The instructions that theConchCast has posted are good instructions for people who are new to Itunes. For anyone that wants to purchase a song off Itunes, you have to have a valid credit card of paypal address. And if you don’t have those things, you can get an Itunes gift card and download songs with that.
Let me echo Laterce’s message about the haters. We can’t be obsessed with every negative comment that Danny gets. If Danny is going to be in the public eye, not everyone will like him. Just like not everyone will like Adam and Kris.
As someone pointed out, with all of Carrie Underwood’s success, there have been negative things written about her.
Also, sites like MJSBlog are a trap. It is meant to be a haters’ haven. Those people will never be happy with whatever Danny does. They complained about the video and trust me, they will complain about the album. Sure, I make my case, but it’s also a lost cause thinking that these people will all of sudden have a change of heart.
It’s not fair – but that’s goes with the territory of being in the public eye.
As I said, I have seen so many positive comments, reviews, feedback on Danny from established professionals in the industry. And those carry much more weight – than some petty comment from a miserable teenager spewing hate from their parents’ basement.

I remember her mentioning Adam, Danny and Adam were my top two throughout the season this year once I really started focusing on it. Adam really made an impression when he came out with Black and White on the top 13 show, and I even liked Ring of Fire, lol. Didn’t love some of his later performances quite as much, where they were a bit on the screechy side.
Over time, Danny’s more natural vocal style really held up better for me but always liked them both.
Great that you got to see Danny at MSMC with that long set of songs, and again at the country bar with a pretty long performance. I wonder how many songs he will sing at the Opry, tempting to go and see that.

One thing about MJs is like it or not, baiter or not, it does get hits. There are many AI fans who visit the site (slong with the usual other sites). I know that before I posted over here I posted alot over there (and of course got kicked off several times – but haven’t we all). The point is, Danny is getting exposure and that is a good thing.
Gotta run and decorate a tree. My sister is flying in from Geneva for the holidays and my other sisters and I are decorating her house as a surprise.

(P.S.) For those who are using Amazon, like me, you apparently have to go to the “MP3 downloads” section of the store. If you search for Danny Gokey in the music section, you just get the AI album and the albums by Adam and Kris. (!!!) I don’t know why they need a separate section for MP3 downloads. If you want to buy a single song from an album, you can apparently do that from the “music” section. So maybe the other section is for singles for which an album has not yet been released. But it’s dumb. Amazon should combine physical and digital music sales in one place.
I’m full of questions today. If Danny’s song goes on sale at midnight, is that midnight Eastern Standard Time? Or something else? I ask because I think Amazon.com is based in Seattle, Washington, on the West Coast. So would Danny’s single be available throughout the country at midnight EST, or would it be available at midnight wherever the “store” is based, i.e., at midnight Pacific Standard Time for Amazon?
A question about international fans. I know Amy B. asked Danny and he said that his song would be available to international fans, but it wasn’t clear when or where.
Subsequently, I read somewhere that the song would be available in three other countries — the U.K., and two other countries (France and Germany?).
Does anybody know whether and when (and where) Danny’s song might be available to international fans in other countries?

Just popping in here for a minute….Ellen, sorry I can’t help you with any of your questions, I’m probably the most computer-illiterate person on the face of the earth. However, if you have Windows 7 or 8 n your computer, you should have Windows Media Player. As for downloading MBD from itunes, you can grab that anytime tomorrow….they aren’t gonna run out of it or anything! LOL!

I have Windows XP with SP2, and my MP3 player says that meets specs. I think Windows 7 just came out so I doubt many folks have it yet. And I don’t think that there is a Windows 8? I do have Windows Media Player on my machine, just not version 11. There has to be a way to upgrade?
If Danny has a lot of non-techie fans like me, then he’s in trouble with his single! Because it takes persistence to buy it. Why is it so difficult to buy a single song? I wish they still sold physical singles. *sigh* But I guess they figure the trade-off is worth it based on the savings of distribution costs. Well, I suspect that Danny at least will do well with the sale of his CD, which can be purchased in physical form.

Thank you everyone, for helping me make my first Danny purchase!
I am charging my MP3 player right now. (I got a separate wall charger so that I don’t have to do it through the computer. Also got an armband/clip so I can take Danny — er, his songs! — with me to to gym.) I’m going to try to download Windows Media Player 11 after my computer gets done with its updates.
BTW, for all you iPod lovers, the sales staff tried to steer me to an iPod Nano. Ditto the lady next to me, who wanted to purchase an MP3 player for her 13-year-old daughter. I admit I really liked the wheel thingy on the iPods that you can circle around to scroll through your playlist quickly. For me, that was the biggest selling feature. But I didn’t want to be tethered to iTunes, even though it is phasing out DRM. So I ended up buying a SONY Walkman, as did the mother with the 13-year-old. (See, ERIKA, you were right!) I can buy music from a variety of sites, including Amazon, Napster (which is trying hard to go legit), and eMusic. But I will be buying Danny’s song from Amazon because I have made other purchases from them before, and because Amazon is probably the second-biggest seller of downloads, behind iTunes.
(P.S.) One of the sales staff showed me his iPhone, and I admit, it’s a real cool piece of technology. But waayyy too complicated for me! I have a TracPhone, and the only thing I know how to do is make outgoing calls and answer the phone. I don’t even know how to use the voicemail feature or how to input ICE or other phone numbers in the phone directory. As I’ve said before, I’m a real luddite!
Ah, my scan is finished. I will try to download Windows Media Player 11 now. Will be back later. Again, thank you for all of the help!
One more thing. I’ve been reading the instructions that come with the Walkman. I understand that the software is on the flash drive but you still have to “install the bundled software?” I’m going to install Media Player 11 first, then connect the Walkman to my computer and try to walk through the installation instructions. Hopefully it will be easy and self-executing, but who knows? Apparently you have to install backup data on your computer, but I think this is done by default.

Well, it doesn’t look like I will be able to buy Danny’s song on the first day of its release. When I tried to install Windows Media Player 11, it told me to check for critical Windows updates first. So I did. And I got Error No. 0x80072EFE. Whatever that means! So I perused the solutions sections, which had plenty of solutions, but not for anything ending in “EFE.” So I put a ticket in for Windows support, but the estimated response time is one day.
I can access my e-mail from work, but (assuming that there is a simple fix) wouldn’t be able to apply the fix until I get home from work. Which is late. Then I would still have to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11 and install the bundled software on my MP3 player, before (finally!) being able to purchase Danny’s single from Amazon.
Sorry I am boring everybody with my tech woes. But I really, really resent all the time I am wasting just to be able to purchase a single. There should still be physical singles for sale.
Anyway, I know that the East Coast really got hammered with snow. I remember what that is like, and I don’t envy folks who are trying to dig out. But look at the bright side — with all that shoveling, at least you don’t need to go to the gym.
(P.S.) Hope you all have an ergonomic shovel like I do. Much easier on your back!

Ellen you can still buy the single tomorrow and save it to your music folder, that way when you are ready to move it to your mp3 player it will be there. Once you get MP11 loaded you just have to add it to you library and Voila’.
You can also copy the mp3 file directly to the player..to do this just attach the player via the USB cable to the computer and it will recognize it as a new drive (probably D: depending what else you have connected) and you can copy the file directly there. This will work with most mp3 players.
So buy away tomorrow.

If you have a US account and US Itunes giftcard, once you download the song once and are ready to download it again, it will ask you if you want to download the song again, even though you already have it. Just click the button that will let you download the song again.

You say that you have $50 in a US Account, but it’s not an Itunes giftcard, do you have like a US paypal account? If you have something like that and are able to download songs off Itunes, then you can still buy mulitple copies of Danny’s song, the same way someone could with an Itunes giftcard. (An itunes giftcard is a card with a certain amount of money on it that people can use to download songs off of Itunes.) You can just click the button that will allow you to download the song again.

I’m not sure how many singles anyone can purchase off of Amazon. I think that sometimes they limit the amount of albums people can buy. I think people were only allowed to buy 3 of Adam’s albums. I remember Adam fans saying something like that and not liking it. I remember one of them saying that they wanted to buy a lot of Adam’s CDs for gifts for their family/friends.
But they weren’t able to, because Amazon limited the amount of CD’s they could buy. I’m not sure what the rule is for singles, or many singles they will let people buy on Amazon. But on Itunes you can buy mulitple copies of the same single.

I am really excited for tomorrow. I love charts and can’t wait to see Danny’s single on the top 100 of Itunes. Can someone tell me how you see the ranking of songs over 100. I see people post the ranking of songs in the 250′s etc but I can only see the top 100 on the chart. Is there somewhere else to look on Itunes. Hopefully Danny’s song will be in the top 100 songs and I won’t have to worry about it. And we will have two charts to look at – the overall top songs and the top country songs. YAY!!!!

So New York City has been chosen for the Ryan, Rock My Town concert with Adam, Kris, Allison. Apparently Kris and his family waged a fierce battle to have it in his home state of Arkansas. But Adam’s fans wanted it in New York City – so that’s where Adam threw his support. And in the end, NYC won out.
So yet another slight for Kris. If Danny had won AI over Adam, I don’t think many of us would be very happy now.

PJGVET. They haven’t announced the date or any other specifics. It is a free concert. And the free tickets will only be given to those who had voted for New York City – which is most of Adam’s fans. Kris’ fans most likely voted for his home state of Arkansas – especially when Kris and his family campaigned to have that as the winner.
I don’t ever recall AI ever doing this in any other season. And I do not see this as a good thing at all. It is obviously an attempt to create more interest in their albums.

Thanks pjgvet, but when I click on his picture, I get nothing. Itunes gave me the option to download some extras when I first accessed it, but I declined. Maybe that’s why.
I was able to download the single, though and give it a rating. In fact, it lets me rate it over and over. I have no idea if it actually counts it, but I give it five stars and it gives the message “Thanks!” every time…lol.
I think I’m going to bed now. Good night everyone!
So tired guys. Not even the thought of Danny streaking can keep me awake. Too much shoveling today.

Ellen, if you have WIndows, usually it will try downloading it somewhere into a folder called Music on your system.
The copy I got from Amazon dropped itself into a new subfolder under Music called Amazon MP3. You have to click thru some additional subfolders to get to the actual mp3 music file though.
iTunes puts a folder under Music called iTunes, within which the music files are stored (again after one or more layers of addtl folders) under iTunes Music.
Usually if your system has the iTunes software, you should be able to bring in an mp3 file by using the “add file to library” option in the iTunes menu, browsing to get to the file you want — for ex., if you bought it from amazon and iTunes didn’t automatically find it thru the amazon loader.

Oddly, it’s all about the single cover, not about Danny or the song. Weird, as I think we all loved his new photos.

Mr. Bing it’s me again. It looks like you will need to go to the iTunes Store. Then search for title of song, MBD. When that comes up, click on the album cover. Then the album cover comes up larger (on the left side). To the right of it, it says “Customer Reviews”. Just click on that. Also rate it (with the 5 stars). Let me know if this works for you. I’m not the greatest with all this tech stuff, but I just get in there and keep experimenting until something works….a little curiosity and stubbornness I think!!
It does list Danny under the Country category on iTunes. Suppose I should go to bed at it’s 1:30 am here =)
