American Idol creator Simon Fuller has a new reality-based talent show, but it won’t be on TV. If I Can Dream will follow five aspiring musicians via a website, IfICanDream.com. A weekly half-hour recap will be show on Hulu, and the project has tie-ins with MySpace, Clear Channel Radio, Ford and Pepsi.
• Danny Gokey will make his Grand Ole Opry debut Jan. 8. He’ll also take part in the Sprint Sound & Speed celebration of music and motorsports in downtown Nashville that weekend.
• Amazon is running a sweepstakes to give away a trip to the 2010 American Idol finale.
• Since it’s just a few days before Christmas, here’s a video of Chris Daughtry singing O Holy Night.
