    Goodmorning Ladies!!! What a colorful picture of Danny Gokey, he looks dashing as usual!!! today is more closer to his Single being officially added this week along with the making of his Music Video of his debut Single “My best Days are Ahead Me” awesome exciting moment that is about to happen to Danny!! Next week or the week after next week on Dec 22nd is the release of his new single!! What a roller coaster ride it is about to be for Danny!!

    Gokey girls and guys lets focus on promoting his current new Single rather than making predictions for “Tiny Life”. I believe the public will put the pressure on the label for a second release for a Single which is very possible for tiny life; however, lets give MBD a fair chance to succeed!! I hope “Tiny Life” is next, it is an Incredible song regarding the cycles of life, the simplicity and the beauty in life, such as family, lovingmaking, precious babies, a warm smile or a tender touch; therefore, these are the meaningful things in life!!

    To my Gokey family, I would like to express regarding our message that we would to like convey to Danny regarding what we would enjoy him singing, I would like to send out a Universal Message that says something to the fact of ” Danny because of your sensitive and intense nature, we are looking forward to you singing a very Powerful Passionate Romantic ballad in your next Album or Single”. if anyone else have any suggestions please by all means let us know what we can change or add to this comment; I would like for us to retweet this to Danny today maybe approximately 3pm and then again around 6pm or 7pm. However, I am not looking for a DM from Danny, I just want him to see this message as an inclination of what his fans desire from him!!

    lulu that is a picture of Danny when he attended a charity event in Detroit on Nov 25th called the Hob Nobble Gobble I think?? LOL, I may have the date incorrect, but it was around Thanksgiving time!

    Hi everyone. :)

    It looks like Danny did get at least 100 spins for the week. I looked at mediabase and they have him down for 105 spins. I believe that the beginning of the new week starts today, so hopefully this week his airplay will increase again and he will get more than 105 spins once the week is over. And hopefully he will get more adds as well.

    Also that station in Milwaukee with the program director who didn’t like “It’s Only” played “My Best Days” today.

    I think that this is only the second time they have played “My Best Days”. Hopefully they will start playing the song more on that station.

    Also I see that some of the haters are out at TWOP criticizing Danny and his fans.

    One hater was saying that when Danny fans state that his haters criticize him because they are miserable, that are Danny fans are acting like they are morally superior to those who hate Danny.

    This was in response to a post that said that Danny shouldn’t worry about his haters, because they are never happy with him and are always hating on him.

    I think that it’s true that Danny has a lot of haters who will never like him or almost anything he does. I have seen haters admit that.

    So I don’t see anything wrong with Danny fans pointing out that a lot of his haters will never like him and that he shouldn’t worry or care about that. I have noticed that some of his haters get mad when we say that, but it’s the truth.

    Also I am glad that Danny is getting more spins. I hope that his airplay continues to increase.

    Latrece, I like your idea! But I also agree with you that we need to be focusing on promoting MBD over anything else right now.

    I have to say, I was just listening to Be Somebody. It reminds me so much of a classic bluesy rock song, more so than country. It actually sounds very much like an Eric Clapton song, and Danny sounds a bit like Clapton himself. Danny really could be a rocker!
    I can tell from the 5 songs I’ve heard that this album is going to be a quality product, and even if it doesn’t sell a million copies, it is going to get great reviews by music critics. The songs stand out and show more versatility than most AI-produced albums.

    FOGS that kind of statement from the haters reaffirms to us that we have risen above their venom and now the next accusation is that we are suposely superior to them. As Danny fans, we are suppose to support Danny and disregard accusations that have no credibility to them; we do not have to feel guilty for being Danny fans. It is amazing to me what accusations the haters keep bringing towards Danny and his fans. Because we will not feed into their venom, now we are ” Goody Too Shoes”, if we feed into their venom then I guess we will be barbaric Danny fans!! the accusations never end so we must continue this battle of absolute support and dedication to Danny no matter what the accusations are!!

    Helio I agree with you about Danny’s Versatility, “Be Somebody” is totally awesome, it definitely has that soulful rocker flavor in it!! Danny has such substance to his singing, the songs just flows from his soul!!

    ITA with you Latrece about the haters.

    I think that it’s funny how they get mad when Danny haters point out that they are haters and are constantly attacking Danny.

    Some of them put the word “haters” in quotation marks when they are talking about themselves and act like they don’t want to be called haters.

    If they don’t want to be called haters or called out for constantly hating on Danny, then they should stop hating on Danny. And not act indignant, and get upset when Danny fans point out how they act.

    I don’t have long to stay on today but wanted to comment on Helio’s post. My friends have taunted me for listening to country stations lately (normally I like rock) but when I play them Danny they say, “And you call that country?”. I too have thought they sound more pop than country. They sure don’t sound like the country we hear on our stations in Texas and that has worried me about him getting air time here. I did not want to start begging the cross over stations yet, but I am thinking they might fit in better there.

    I have already responded at TWOP; pointing out that Danny and his fans are referring to HATERS, not people who just DISLIKE him. My comment:

    Of course not everyone is going to like you; he just re-quoted Bill Cosby 2 days ago how you the worst thing you can do is try and please everyone. Danny’s statement does not refer to people who dislike (mature people like that will just avoid your work and you) him; it refers to Haters who go out of their way to change your words, put you down as they pick apart the past and place an incorrect motive behind your actions; almost like a personal vendetta. I agree with Danny.

    Good morning,

    It is such a busy time of year and haven’t been able to post as much as I would like.

    Anyway, Looks to me like the published chart on radio airplay will show Danny having 95 spins and at #80. I am not concerned that his ranking on the chart is lower this week because he increased spins by 29. More Christmas songs were played this week which dropped his number on the chart but as long as his spins increase, he is moving up the charts. After the holidays we will get a true picture of where My Best Days is on the country charts. However, this week is important because his song goes for official adds. I am thinking the real push from RCA is going to happen right after the holidays and after they release the video.

    Pam, I posted a TWOP comment also. It was going back a few posts to someone who was bringing out a claim comparing Danny to Kristy Lee Cook.
    Just struck me funny, so I said that. Sometimes they are reaching so hard for dumb criticisms of Danny, only thing I can do there is laugh. And I think the haters probably dislike being laughed at far more than getting rational replies back ;)

    Good morning Steph! Well at least the “behind the times” guy wrote a nice comment about Its Only!

    Darla, Be Somebody isn’t very country sounding, but I don’t see that as a problem. Many artists put a different “type” of song on an album- ie Daughtry putting Tennesse Line (country) on his rock/pop album. I think all the other songs def. satisfy the cross over country we see today. Just point out Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, R. Flatts to your friends.

    Latrece, I think its good if we change up the message you wrote instead of identically tweeting; otherwise it will look like spam, he may not read it and get bored. We can incorporate your basic eloquent (as usual) message and be creative! Can you say Miss Lisa…. :)
    3pm is good for me; I will be back on at 10pm because of my christmas party at Joey Buonos!

    man5ell, I sort of agree with you. None of the songs are that country, but look at Taylor Swift, who is even less country than Danny, and cleaned up at the CMAs! She doesn’t sing nearly as well as Danny either. All of the songs–with the exception of It’s Only and I Still Believe–could get airplay on AC/HAC and perhaps they should be marketing him that way, and maybe they are planning on it later on. I think they want to get him airplay on country stations first, see how that goes (and I think he will do fairly well in that genre) and then start promoting him to pop and Top 40 stations. The HAC station Star 104.3 here in Asheville adores him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he started getting airplay on that very soon, if they add him.
    I always did think Danny had some rocker in him (even after Scream On–it was too “hard rock” for Danny), and has a rocker type of voice, even if he doesn’t really have the soul of a rocker. He couldn’t be a hard rocker, but I think he might have actually done well on rock radio in the 1970s or early 1980s, because a lot of rock songs from that era had that bluesy quality that Danny has and were more “singer’s” songs than what you hear today. His sound reminds me so much of Eric Clapton or Joe Cocker, or even Elton John. Danny could kill an Elton John ballad.

    I believe the cut off date for spins being counted for last week was last night. And Danny had 95 spins last night, before the new week began this morning.

    But he did gain more spins between last night, when the total number of spins was taken and counted for last week and this morning.

    Right now Mediabase does have him down for 106 spins on the Country chart, because he has been played 11 times today. But today is the start of the new week for radio spins.

    On the general point, I’m not sure about Be Somebody, but the other four songs sound country enough to me in terms of the songs themselves and the instruementals for the recorded tracks. Danny’s vocal sound isn’t obviously country, but on the recorded tracks I think he’s got a countrified phrasing going on. I don’t pick that up as much listening to the acoustic versions though.

    Pam, I saw that, with someone talking down Mark Bright and Carrie Underwood. Well, I guess that is their opinion, but I feel sure Danny isn’t worried about having that problem. Lol.

    So much happening this week for Danny, but am I correct in that he’s not visiting radio stations for awhile?

    I’m looking forward to all the big events—but I’ve really burned through my 5G of internet this month–so I have to be more judicious or pay the price. Darn it all. (I may give myself the gift of Danny news….) Those videos are TOO hard to resist!

    Maryann, we were sure busy last night on Danny’s OS with our positive feedback! We need to keep at it–the haters are being run off or the mods are doing their job. I actually am liking it there now. Kudos on your thread about the band. Those guys are all great too, and I’m so happy Danny got to choose his own bandmembers. AI-produced albums seem to be allowing more of that sort of thing these days, which is good. I do hope at some point Danny becomes good enough on guitar to try his hand at it onstage. What I wouldn’t give to see that man strumming a guitar while he sings. Ahhhhhh! (It would give him something to do with his busy hands too, LOL)

    Brandon, Def and Ivan are all talented and have great onstage chemistry with Danny. Def in particular really seems to get into the music. He is to guitar what Danny is to singing. Oh, and I can definitely see that Brandon looks like a young Conan O’Brien. LOL

    A poster at the OS named Anja (I wonder if she’s from Scandinavia?) mentioned something about what’s behind the hating on Danny and I thought she made an excellent point. Here is what she said:

    “Yeah, I’m sure some Danny haters see him as a threath and that’s their reason to be interested in Danny. They can see his potential just as we do Smile The problem is they don’t see that the general public use to generalize things. (All American Idols are this or that …) And by general public I mean music consumers who don’t follow American Idol intensily. If one of the idols succeeds, that makes it easier for others to succeed. And if one of them fails or gains a bad reputation, that may cause American Idol background to become a burden for other idols too.

    And Heliotrope, you said: “Danny has touched a nerve in people”.

    That’s it. No doubt Danny’s story shocked people and reality show producers really know how to use that shocking factor, but Danny never used his story to promote his career. He was in pain. His pain was real. It was just too difficult for some people to face his grief because of their own pain and they hated that. Danny has also a great ability to affect people emotionally when he sings. So, he can be a great source of inspiration and love and a “torturer” at the same time Smile

    I’m glad we can analyze this hate problem together and find the reasons why those people behave the way they do. When we understand them, it’s easier for us to face and handle their hate. And this may also help some negative people to become more conscious of their own behaviour. Danny hasn’t done anything to earn their hate, they just react unconsciously to their own feelings and emotions.”

    My feeling about that is it’s not always “feel good” emotions that make a great artist. Anyone with a voice can sing a pretty song, but true artists are those who are completely honest, even when the emotions they are conveying are uncomfortable.

    Hello Ladies! Hope everybody is well and enjoying their Sunday. I just finished watching the CMA show, which was shown in Finnish TV last night. I taped it,because it came so late. I have to say that Danny would have done great performing there already this year! MBD would have been a perfect song to sing at CMA.

    Anyhow, I’m also getting excited knowing that we’ll soon have a music video from Danny!When do you think it will be ready for a release?

    Cindy and other Gokey ladies, I thought I would offer my suggestion to your ideas; I believe you and Pam intiated the idea of tweeting Danny regarding a power Ballad. I just wanted to participate in it. I don’t want to be the primary one pushing this effort. I will leave the idea in your or someone else’s hands if you want to tweet Danny. I don’t want everyone depending on my ideas only, I want all of us to have an input and come up with a solid agreement. I think my idea is great if you want to use it; however, I am open to someone else’s ideas if you have any. BTW, I thought the retweet button was for the purpose of retweeting messages, how does that lead to Spam?? Anyway, it is up to others as to what you want to do, or if you want to wait till another time.

    Danny was mentioned on CMT Insider but he wasn’t shown talking. They mentioned that he had a new song coming to radio Monday. But they said that it was “It’s Only” even though the had “My Best Days” playing in the background when they said this. They made a mistake with the single, but at least they mentioned him on their show.

    Latrece, one definition of Spam is retweeting the same thing over and over again. Thats the only reason (besides creativity that I thought we should not all tweet the same message).

    Steph, you are prob. right they are done recording, but there is a lot to do on the album and I doubt they are 100% sure which songs will be on there.

    My timing isn’t the best — don’t know how many folks will see this post — but I have a HUGE request to make of fellow iheart members.

    Please, please, please, if you ever have occasion to refer to Susan Boyle, please don’t call her “SuBo.”

    As most of you know by now, I am a huge fan of Susan Boyle, and the viral Internet video of Susan singing on “Britain’s Got Talent” is what led me ultimately to discover Danny. (And now I’m even a bigger fan of Danny’s. I never haunted Susan’s fansite the way I do Danny’s here at iheart. :-) )

    Here is the problem for me. Susan Boyle was taunted and bullied as a child. When I see “SuBo,” it feels very disrespectful to Susan. I do realize that no one at iheart is intending to be disrespectful. It’s just easier to type 4 characters than her full name — less typing. Am I being sensitive? You bet! But I have my reasons. Like Susan, I was taunted as a child. And like Susan, I had to endure various nicknames, including ones that could be considered accurate or not necessarily intended to be cruel. But there is little that can make you feel as powerless as when people strip you of your own identity by refusing to call you by your real name.

    I’m sure many folks will think I am overreacting (and maybe I am), but I hope people will nevertheless respect my request. I also want to emphasize that this post is directed at the iheart community at large, and not any particular individual.

    Lastly, since this is a Danny Gokey fansite, I do realize that there probably isn’t the need to refer to Susan Boyle very often anyway. Usually she just comes up as a barometer of CD sales.

    Steph, very good point! The album was wrapped yesterday! Tweeting Danny for a power love ballad ain’t gonna do much good now. It’s DONE.

    Also….is Danny performing at the DC today, or just there in the congregation? I have the live stream on now and it’s a C’mas production thing going on.

    Anybody know anything? Was hoping Danny would sing a C’mas song. Would LOVE to hear him sing O Holy Night somewhere sometime this season!!!! My favorite C’mas song and he would definitely do it justice.

    Pam, I don’t think, generally speaking, that the intent is hateful. I’m sure most folks who use that designation are using it neutrally or fondly. And certainly, it doesn’t even begin to compare with the things that Danny has been called. But Susan has gotten her share of hate (again, nowhere near the proportion that Danny has received), and I am absolutely sure that some people have referred to her derogatorily as “SuBo.”

    At the end of the day, this may be more about my issues than about Susan. But no matter which way I slice it, “SuBo” feels disrespectful to me.

    On a different subject, I thought about you while I was in Tuscon, Pam! I was at the Tuscon branch of my gym, and E-SPAN (sp?) — the sports channel — was on the TV. Apparently, some football player was dissing the town of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and caught a lot of flak for doing that. Are you a Packers fan, or are you one of the ones who converted to the Vikings when Brett Favre (sp?) left?

    Pam and Helio, I totally agree with you on the sound of the songs. Honestly, Danny is my first introduction to Country stations…and he always sounds perfect to me. It as must my friends’ statements made me worry about him getting air play here. I think our country stations must be old fashioned.

    Ellen, I can see your point about Susan but I was under the impression that SuBo was kind of a term of endearment putting her up there with other celebs who have made it big such as JLo and JHud. But I know what it’s like to be taunted and teased as a child, Moving to Philly from Boston with a broad Boston accent which kids labeled as being snotty. Plus wearing glasses and being labeled four-eyes.

    Darla, my thoughts and prayers are with you. We buried Ned’s older brother last Saturday which was expected. But to have to bury someone so young with their whole live ahead of them must have been truly devastating.

    man5ell, While I wish the other idols well, I hope that Danny does very well. I think that he is very talented and that he deserves to be successful. I am not sure how many of the other idols from the Top 4 he might do better than. But I think that he might at least end up doing better than Allison.

    I’m not sure how he will do in comparison to Adam and Kris. Adam has sold a good amount of records, but has a harder time selling singles and getting airplay.

    Kris is now doing better at selling singles and is getting good airplay, but isn’t selling that many albums. I hope that Danny will be able to sell at least a decent amount of albums and get good airplay. I think that it’s possible that he can do this.

    Fogs, Yes, I like hte other Idols from Season 8 too…nearly all the top 11. I bought Sarver’s songs last week when they came out on iTunes. I would also buy Matt. I can see Adam doing better than Danny because of the appeal to a hipper audience (but he’s not my cup of tea), but I will be surprised if Kris does better. I do like Kris, don’t get me wrong, but I just think he has less talent than Danny.

    I think that all of the Idols from this season seem like nice people, I like them all as people. But I am only a fan of Danny, Anoop and Matt. Even though I think that Adam and Allison are talented and good singers.

    I think that Kris is a nice guy, but I am not a fan of his voice, or his music. I don’t care for his voice. I’m not sure if Danny will do better than Kris, it’s possible that he could end up having a better career in Country music than Kris has in pop music.

    I don’t think that Danny will sell as many albums as Kris does the first week his album comes out, but he might be able to have a more solid career in Country music than Kris will in pop music.

    Right now Kris is doing well with radio airplay and he’s selling some singles. I think that is definitely helping him out.

    I’m not undertanding the power treet on a romantic Danny song. I think that could be misunderstood that we are not supporting Danny’s debut single and with it just being released to radio on Monday and the video being filmed on Thurs/Fri and then for sale next Tuesday, I think we should all be 100% behind My Best Days Are Ahead of Me. There is plenty of time to talk of a second single but according to Brian Mansfield it is NOT GOOD for Danny if they have to release a second single so we should just concentrate on his current single IMO.

    I hope Danny’s single will do well when it goes for sale. Dec 22nd may be kind of a funny date though, as people will be focusing on Christmas and family.

    I don’t want Danny to have to deal with unrealistic expectations. But as far as my personal guess, I won’t be amazed if Danny actually does sell more albums than Kris when the time comes. Especially if he has a featured spot on AI9 and delivers the knockout live performance that he’s fully capable of doing. And if they continue to build the promo otherwise, get Danny on television more, and start planning for having him on a major tour.

    Here are some guesses I have as to how Danny could do when his album comes out. I am going to say that he will at least sell 30,000 albums which would probably get him into the Top 10 Country albums. I think that if he sold anywhere from 30,000-50,000 albums that would be a good first week for him as a Country artist.

    If he sold closer to the 50,000 range, that would be good numbers for him and could get him into the Top 5 Country album chart. He might make it into the Top 3 if he sold around that amount.

    If he puts up the type of numbers that Kris did his first week, then he will probably debut into the the Top 3 Country albums. possibly Top 2 or even #1 on the Country chart. Depending on what other country artists are releasing an album around that time.

    How many albums he sales is going to depend on things like how well he is received in Country music, how well his song does, how many fans he has and how many of them buy his music, how many fans he gains, how much promotion he gets etc…It’s definitely going to be exciting to see how he does.

    A little clarification here:

    Katy, no one remotely said or even inferred we were trying to “change the single”.
    Shirl mentioned she wants a romantic, sexy ballad on the album!
    So that is what our tweet was about, when they make the final selections for the album, if there is a choice, we are letting it be known that his fans love his romantic material.
    I never thought for a minute that it was showing non support for Best Days (which i think is the best lead single).
    Perhaps a tweet could go something like-
    “So excited for the awesome Best Days 2 arrive! And the album- r u going 2 have a romantic ballad 4 “the Ladies”? ”
    Because thats what Danny said in Ohio before the sang “lovers to kiss’, he said this is for the ladies , and laughed.

    But Lizzy, if you think that comes off as not supporting Best Days as a single, I would never want that!
    Danny does seem to listen to us-there’s been many instances. I noticed after I said that MBD is a good New Year’s song a few days later he said the same thing! Probably coincidence, but there has been a few incidences of that. So we were just trying to get his ear in that we love his romantic stuff.

    But sometimes how you intend something is not how it comes off. What does everyone think?

    I do think we can say we love other songs / types of songs, but it would be best if we show support for MBD while we’re at it. MBD is Danny’s first serious venture for airplay and to sell any song from his new album to the public. We’ve seen with Adam and Kris that confusion among fans about their singles hasn’t helped them much.

    When I tweeted that DC DJ about his coup in getting Danny to sing Tiny Life on air, for example, I complimented him for that but also tried to include that I love MBD too. Same thing when I’ve put comments on YT for the other songs. When I remember, I try to say I love all the songs and to say something nice about country music, or identifying myself as a long-time country music listener.

    ps – not that it’s a power ballad, but as we’re talking about romantic songs — does anyone think Back at One may be turn out to be on the album? Initially I didn’t think so, in fact first time I saw the video from SLC I thought they did it as a request. Not planned.

    But Danny’s been performing it at a number of other stops, including at the Legends club the other night in his show with that Ohio radio station’s sponsorship as a country music “Rising Star.”

    After seeing it appearing on more occasions, and hearing the very R&B sound of Be Somebody which Brian Mansfield said is a track for the album — I am starting to wonder if Back at One could be on the album also.

    Well Gokey Ladies I would like to express that I realize there are some of Danny fans who strictly likes Danny’s humanity and soulful voice; there are some of us who enjoys everything, his humanity, soulful voice and physical attraction. The reason for this comment is I accept the fact that some of you all are not fangirls or at least you don’t want to be known as fangirls ( you are strictly diehard fans). However, there are some of us who are fangirls and are proud of it!!

    My concern is that I notice if one of us fangirls makes an Appropiate spicy comment, I notice that the those who are non fangirls will chime in and attempt to derail the conversation to something else for fear that the conversation is going to linger in that lane too long. I respect everyone here and truly believe that we should have a balance between intellect and pure pleasure ( clean fun).

    for Clarification regarding the tweet. I do not want my comments twisted or misstated. I never expressed that I wanted another song in substitution for MBD, Danny’s music career is a continuum, expressing ideas for his future songs is not taking away nor is it a reflection of a lack of support for is current Single or Album. When we make comments like “MBD is going to be good but Tiny Life is better and should be the next Single”, that comment reflects favor of one over the other!! I am not favoring one over the other; I am referring in addition to his Phenomenal Album, we would love for him to Sing purely about Romance, Love and Passion with minimal inspiration at some point. Also, if each person wants to tweet to Danny in their own fashion that is fine with me; I just don’t want any drama over a tweet; therefore, I will proceed with my own intentions and others can do as they wish.

    I think that they might be having him perform that song for the same reason he sometimes performs “What Hurts The Most”, because it’s a crowd pleaser and something he likes to sing. David Cook sometimes, includes the song “Little Lies” by Fleetwood Mac in his set because he enjoys performing that song and because it’s a crowd pleaser. I could see Danny doing the same thing with “Back At One” and “What Hurts The Most”

    I’m not sure if “Back At One” is on the album, but I definitely don’t see it being released as a single. I don’t think that it would do well as a single, even though it’s a nice song and Danny sounds good on it.

    It was a big hit when Brian McKnight did it and it was hit for Mark Wills did a country version of the song. It was #2 on the Country chart for Mark Wills and a lot of people in the Country community would remember that, that song was a hit for Mark. I don’t see that song really doing anything for Danny if it’s on his album.

    Also I see another hater is on TWOP making fun of Danny and his song choices, I think this hater is yet another Kris fan.

    I have to agree with Latrece. We never had the intentions of tweeting Danny about the romantic ballad because we didn’t like what he’s been singing now. Danny’s attraction for me just isn’t his voice, it is the whole package as latrece mentioned. He is very physically attractive also, and has a sexy voice and women would love to hear a sexy/romanctic song from him and I think he would be flattered that we think that way also. Never meant any disrespect for his album or his single. I love everything he sings.

    FOGS, could be. I just would think at this early point as they are introducing Danny to the country radio market they would be very careful in selecting the songs they present, and have a reason for each one.
    I love Back at One, but if they didn’t think it represented something of Danny’s future direction there are a million other songs they could have chosen if they wanted a cover. Dunno what the real story is, but it’s interesting. Maybe someone will have a chance to ask Danny about it in due course.

    Ah, Latrece and Cindy; I didn’t take offense at the concerns about the tweet- I think its good to talk about things and it actually made me think that I should make sure and mention how great MBD is! I think everyone just loves Danny so much and wants so badly for him to do well that talk of how much we love other songs like ITs only and Tiny life, on top of asking for more romantic songs could sound to some like we aren’t happy with the single, which is so far from the truth; but perception can matter. Don’t think anyone meant anything personal.
    Latrece, as far as spicy, we all def. have different personalities on here and it probably depends who you “catch” on line at the same time! Plus , I think now that crunch time is here with single and all the other albums there’s just a lot of talk there. Spice it up girl and I know someone will take the hook ;)
    Steph- Danny sang Back at One at his Sister’s wedding so there is a connection there; perhaps it is some filler early on before they wanted to reveal a lot of album songs? But I agree that there are probably better covers to do since that has been done as a hit before.

    I still cannot get myself to leave yet… Latrece, Pam, I have had issues with my PC and I will need to get a new one and I am waiting for after Christmas sales (maybe!!). A friend came over and fixed this second computer we have but this too is on its way out it is very old and pokey..sorry for the misspellings but sometimes I type in the dark. I am very excited about buying MBD on the 22nd provided that I have a functional computer.. I did buy my itunes card this weekend and I plan to also gift the song. Good Night!

    Pam with all due respect, I understand diversity very well But there are some who have control issues here; they desire topics to be in one direction only with little respect for flexibility. I love all the input here from the record spins to the top of charts as well as the creativity between the different idols. I just choose to be vocal while others chose to turn a deaf ear for the sake of peace. However, It is not in my nature to be negative, I am just human and very diasppointed at times. Therefore, I am going to have to cut back even more so I won’t be a frustration on others. I know I have said it a million times but I Really mean it!

    Ah but yeah….I’m not likin’ the hair too much either. Too much like the style he wore during the tour. I’m thinking he has very straight hair which is also rather coarse with good body. It’s the way his hair will naturally grow if kept that short, and if it is not styled. During the show, stylists played with different hair styles, and curled it or moussed it or highlighted it. I think what we are seeing now is the way it looks when simply washed and blown dry/toweled dry.

    Shirl, I don’t know much about hair styling, but would someone’s hair stick up that high when it’s that long? Lol! I always figured he must pull some product through it to get it that way, and so it stays that way while he’s moving around.

    Pam, maybe — re Back at One being filler. But they could have chosen another more country song if they wanted a cover. A lot of people would love to hear Danny sing I Hope You Dance again, for example, or if they wanted a love song, there are others that would be more country-ish.

    I don’t know. Maybe just speculating over nothing, but do find it interesting that when he’s doing sets of anywhere from 3 to 7 songs they’ve included that particular one, on top of Be Somebody being so entirely R&B sounding.

    Danny’s always said he likes Brian McKnight, and wanted to do one of his songs on the show (Still, I think?). But the record label wouldn’t have a reason to support that if it didn’t make sense in the larger picture somehow or other.

    Steph, I’m so excited that you get to go to Coyote Joes! Did you ever get a chance to meet him when you saw him on tour?

    Don’t really know what to think about Back at One, unless the label just really gives him a lot of latitude (it really seems so- he’s singing PYT and other non country songs at a lot of those fundraisers). I wonder how many songs will be on the album? We know 5 of them for sure now.

    Re, hair; sigh. I guess we can’t expect Danny to curl and style his hair like the professionals do. I think it is just easiest for him if he sticks a bunch of gel in it and blow dries it up!
    He will always be sexy to me no matter what, although I agree that I like the softer look better.

I didn’t try to do the m&g when I went to the tour show. I guess if there is one this week and I go, that would make me an official fangirl beyond all denying. Lol.

    Steph, One of my best friends is a hairdresser and she’s used me as a guinea pig because my hair is coarse, heavy and has good body. From what I understand, if a person has hair like that and it’s cut in one length, and short on top, it will stick straight up especially if it is stick-straight. No idea if Danny uses a hair product on it to keep it that way but that would certainly make one’s hair look like that too. I’m thinking the stylist used hair conditioner on his hair on the show which would tend to make it softer, more compliant, and easier to style. If he has straight stiff hair naturally, he would need a conditioner to soften it and make it easier to work with. More length on the top would most definitely be to an advantage with being able to have enough hair on top to style either with a styling iron, brush or hot comb, etc. Sorry for being so longwinded here!!!!

    Hi Everyone…….A new poster here! Have to share a story with you. I was with relatives Friday night Of course I mentioned Danny Gokey (who I’ve been following for quite sometime now). Then I found out a young cousin of mine (through marriage) is actually a friend of Danny’s guitarist Def’s wife. She also had met Danny right before the American Idol auditions. She said he was very down to earth….and I told her from what I have seen and heard, he still is!! Sometimes it’s such a small world!

    Thank you all for sharing so much info. about Danny and his exciting career on this site. It’s been interesting to note the wide age of Danny fans out there. I happen to be in the “senior citizen” category….but feel you’re never too old to
    enjoy the wonderful music Danny is presenting us.

    Pam, no, didn’t even try to see Danny outside the tour show. It was somewhere between a 1-2 hour drive, and couldn’t get out early enough to chance it on the afternoon, and it was too late afterward. As it was, didn’t get home til close to 1 a.m. or later with work the next morning. Enjoyed seeing the show though, with Danny and almost all of the other performers there.

    With all those tweets going to Danny, maybe he will DM someone back with the answer about the sexy love song / romantic ballad?

    Shirl, I volunteered to take questions for Danny when the Madison Radio Tour occurs (supposedly the week of 1/11) –just in case I get the chance.     I hope WMZQ plays Danny’s song a lot. I have noticed that some of the stations that Danny has visited on the radio tour play his song a lot. Like the ones in Detroit and Charlotte.

    And the one in Madison who gave away passes to people to see him played his song at least 19 times last week. I hope that WMZQ station will play Danny’s song a lot like these other stations have.

    Hey y’all!!! Seems like forever since I’ve been on. I’ve actually been working as a bell ringer for the salvation army since last Monday. It’s okay so far but I’m helping them bring in a lot of donations so far and that’s all I really care about :-) Anyway, been catching up on the latest Danny news…

    That’s cool that he’s going to be in Hendersonville tomorrow and Knoxville the next day. I don’t believe that hendersonville is that close to me at all(I live in Clarksville) and Knoxville’s a couple of hours away so I’m out of luck :-( I’m sure I’ll see some pics of it this week sometime.     steph- really? wow, I guess they start earlier than I thought. So far it’s been okay. It’s not a volunteer thing b/c I’m getting paid minimum wage for it but they have volunteers that do it during the weekends. Even though I most definitely do need the money right now b/c of the holidays, it’s pretty cool that the money donated helps in so many ways. Would do it even if I didn’t need the money :-)

    YAY, WMZQ in DC officially added My Best Days. That is one of the two country radio stations I listen to and from what I can tell, Baltimore’s WPOC follows what DC’s WMZQ plays so I hope they add his song too and then I have twice as good of chance to hear it on the radio.     Hey everyone!

    I’ve missed everyone. Been sick the last couple of days! I have a nasty sinus infection and I also have viral pink eye bilaterally. My eyes have been either draining or crusted over….no fun at all. It is bad enough to get pink eye in one eye and of course I get it in both. I had to go to urgent care yesterday and now I am on an antibiotic for the sinus infection and Cipro drops for the pink eye.

    Finally figured out the gravatar thing…I have to change my pic though…coming in too blurry.

    Another question…..what is TWOP?

    And finally, I subscribe to http://www.thumbplay.com…..It is a ringtone site amongst many other things…..anyway, I did a search for Danny Gokey and he has two songs posted now for ringtones! He has “Stand by Me” and “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me!” “My Best Days” is now my new ringtone…..I get to hear it all day long now on my cellphone. So excited…

    Back from my Christmas party only to find a really nasty virus on my computer that my daughter downloaded :(
    Don’t know what to do now.

    Jason, do you have to have some kind of cable to hook your cell phone to your computer to do that or how do you do that?

    Erika, I’m wondering if we should post instructions on the front page on how to download Itunes and buy Danny’s song for those who don’t know this coming week. I could write it, unless I have to give up my computer for a long time with this virus :(

    Jason, I had a look at the site and it seems legit. I’m just worried about the subscribing thing… You pay monthly, right? I see that they say that it’s 10 bucks a month. Can a person buy just one ringtone and don’t be surprised with a monthly bill afterwards? I can’t try to download it because I’m not in the US and my phone is not internet-enabled anyway.

    Hi Pam, the ringtone site says that your phone must be internet-enabled for you to use the service so you wouldn’t need a cable as the download would go straight to your phone.

    Instructions on how to download on iTunes would be good. I’d appreciate it if you could write instructions as I obviously can’t because I’m outside US and can’t friggin’ download things on the iTunes US store! Even the free ones! Do you feel my frustration?! LOL!

    Hey –

    The $10.00 a month is added to my cell phone bill every month…it automatically goes on….you can cancel at any time….basically, it comes down to $2.00 a ringtone which really isn’t that bad. When you initially sign-up you get 10 free credits, so a total of 20 credits, each ringtone is two credits. After you download your 10 ringtones you can cancel if you want. I know have over I think 7o ringtones and they stay in your “locker” on the website….so you re-download then to your phone at any time. I have been with the website for awhile…..never had any problems! They always seem to have the latest stuff up on the site….for example…before Kris Allens CD came out..they had most of the ringtones of his album before it was sale to the general public. Anyway…you pick your ringtone and its sent to your phone and then all you have to do is download it. Anyway, even if you don’t sign-up, it is fun just to go on the site and listen to new clips of songs and they have other cool stuff on the site as well. Let me know what you all think!

    After weeks of being annoyed by questionable golden ticket winners, now American Idol critics are concerned about someone who lost. When Jessika Baier auditioned in Puerto Rico, Simon Cowell gave the veteran singing contest competitor one of his harshest verdicts yet, refusing to let her sing a second song or even hear constructive criticism from the other judges (”just go ‘yes’ or ‘no’!”).

    That was absolutely awful, I mean, not only that, I just can’t believe that you won all these shows. This is ridiculous…I will never ask you to sing anything. The singing, the jumping up and down, none of its working…Jessika, I can swim, but I’m not going to win ten Olympic medals at the Olympic games!

    While her take on Celine Dion’s “I Surrender” was flawed, Simon’s offense at her very presence was pretty striking in contrast to his treatment of “Bikini Girl” Katrina Darrell. Why was he so pissed off? Paula Abdul suggested Baier “take the constructive criticism” (Simon: “she won’t“), so did the editors only make it look like Simon refused to let them speak? If Baier plays up the sympathy, missing out on Idol may have been the best thing to happen to her career.
