    What an amazingly gorgeous picture of Danny! I haven’t seen this one before and have to say it’s definitely one of the best pictures. How can that man look so good!

    I woke up this morning (here it’s 2 pm now)feeling really positive about things and Danny having such professionals supporting his career. Hearing all these names being mentioned and their connection to Danny just confirms that the label is investing time and money on Danny and they expect him to be a huge success.I’m so happy for Danny!

    Wish I could be right there with them helping out. To hear Danny do the Nat’l Anthem alone, has to be a hug treat! I have never heard any man sing that song so well. He flawlessly hits every note. Amazing!

    Looks the way from a tweet that he made. He is an amazing song writer. He wrote What Hurts the Most. Hopefully, he has written a mega hit for Danny!

    I am not sure about this (so please do not quote me anyone), but it appears to me that JS may have more in common then meets the eye. I read where he tragically lost a son at a young age from an accident.

    Out of respect for the man and his family, this is all I will say. I don’t think it is appropriate to drag the personal details here. So, enough said.

    I am just thrilled that he is collaborating with Danny.

I just wanted to mention that when Danny finished singing September on AI, they panned over to the audience and Jeffery Steele was sitting with his wife and you could see that he was saying “that was great”

    I think RCA would be smart to set Danny up with songwriter/producer Jeffrey Steele or Nathan Chapman. Steele, whose songs Gokey sang on American Idol and on tour, has a voice similar to Gokey’s along with a love for multiple styles of music.

    I have been following Jeffrey Steele on twitter every since I read the below tweet back in August.

    danny gokey performed “what hurts the most” on regis and kelly today. did you see it? what’d you think?

    I have found no evidence that Jeffrey Steele is working with Danny now but am keeping my fingers crossed that he could be because he is an awesome songwriter. When I read the Aug 27th tweet I just figured JS saw a repeat of Regis and Kelly when Danny sang WHTM, a song Jeffrey Steele wrote and wanted to know what people thought about it. I did not read anything else into it. He could very well be working with Danny but there has been no mention of it. Brian Mansfield from USA Today did say that there were songwriters in Nashville who had saved songs for Danny and one was a prominent songwriter, but that is all I know so far other than Matthew West wrote a song for Danny.

    Hope everyone has a fun Halloween. I will be out of town visiting friends so will miss the fun on this site tonight after Danny performs boooo. I did set my DVR to record the game tonight so hopefully I can watch when I get home and catch up on all the fun.

    Erika, that is one of my favorite pics of Danny that you choose for today’s discussion page. I uploaded it to Shutterfly months ago for a printout of a gorgeous 5×7.

    Has anyone noticed that the reason he is not wearing his glasses there is because he is cleaning them with the edge of his shirt??? So we get once again to see how beautiful his brown eyes really are, so full of expression.

    I think that it is interesting that Danny’s single is going to be released on December 14, instead of November. I guess the record label thinks that would be a better time for him to release his single. I am glad that we do have an official release date of the song.

    I think that it’s interesting and a good thing that Danny might be doing a radio tour too.

    Also, I think that mj should have made the information about Danny’s release date a topic on her blog, but she hasn’t done that yet.

    The tweet Lizzy just posted was the one I’d mentioned last night after seeing someone else on twitter who had come across it. It’s very brief but given the timing (a week after Danny’s contract wss signed) I thought it may well suggest Jeffrey could be the songwriter who had all those songs put on hold by Sony. He wrote My Wish in addition to WHTM, so his songs obviously work well for Danny and Danny loves to perform them.

    When I looked up his account, he doesn’t seem to be a very prolific tweeter, but it’s JSteeleMusic.

    There were some people following up my post about Danny’s possible “radio tour” at mj’s, asking what a radio tour actually is. Not sure if anyone hear knows? Lizzy usually knows all :)

    Here was someone’s theory.

    ‘I might be wrong about this, but I think a “radio tour” refers to performing at such things as the Jingle Balls/Bashes/Jams, the way Archie did last year and now Kris this year. David did about 11 of these Jingle shows last year. It’s called a “radio tour” because the shows are sponsored by radio stations. Some radio stations also have a summer version and call it Summer Bash or something similar.’

    I hope you are right and Jeffrey Steele has written some songs for Danny. After I read Jeffrey Steele’s tweet in August I thought the same thing. I have been following him in hopes he might tweet something about Danny. That probably won’t happen because if you look at his account, it is managed by someone. I don’t like twitter accounts that are managed because they are less likely to leak info.

    I noticed in my google alerts this morning that Danny’s LA Dream Center article has made it to United Press International. I guess that means other news organizations will pick up the article – good for Danny.

    Also, I heard Adam’s song, it’s not bad IMO. I think that it kind of sounds like an 80’s dance song to me.

    Lizzy, it’s interesting to speculate anyway. The timing just seems intriguing as Brian reports a songwriter approaching him to ask about Danny, and here’s Jeffrey asking about him in roughly the same timeframe on twitter. About a tv performance that wasn’t even a new one, just a rerun from one of his NY shows after the finale. In addition to WHTM and My Wish, I see Jeffrey also did These Days which is another RF song I like, and has one on their newest album (co-written with Kara interestingly), although I don’t remember it well. I didn’t find most of the songs on the new RF album that memorable, maybe they needed more Jeffrey songs ;)

    I saw this today. Not sure what it means, but it might explain why there was such a huge run-up in Danny’s fanpage numbers that one day. Since that night, the number hasn’t gone up, and it’s actually dropped slightly. Maybe if peeps were added automatically somehow, some have taken themselves off?

    I don’t know Facebook very well. If someone had visited Danny’s friends page or tagged photos with his name, things like that, perhaps a Fan page would pick them up when it’s created?

    I just got thru listening to ADam Lambert’s Single “For Your Entertainment” It definitely has some good beats to it, I think the purpose of this song was to remain mysterious and seductive; therefore, Adam’s voice is certainly subdued in this production. I believe it is going to sell well because it speaks the language of this current generation and lifestyle. Adam’s greatest strength is his ability to capitivate an audience when he performs, he embodies the songs that he is singing; I realize that his voice does not shine to it’s fullest extent in his Single but I believe it was done on purpose for its intended objective. What is the Objective?? to remain ALLURING, ENTICING, ENCHANTING and SEXually very appetizing!!

    I believe Adam’s music is targted for a certain audience just as danny’s music is geared towards a particular audience; Adam certain has an audience for his style of music; I believe his Image/persona is very strong so when he perfoms, his songs are going to become pretty popular. I believe a large portion of the general public is attracted to his muisc ( this was evident during the tour), therfore, he will continue to grow in popularity as people become more accustomed to his music and image.

    I think that the Michael song is not bad, and I think that it’s cool that he wrote that himself. Who knows maybe something like that song, or other songs he wrote might do at least okay in the country music genre. If he gets signed and decides to put out a country album.

    Also, I think that the Trace Adkins song is very heartfelt and pretty, I could definitely see Danny singing something like that.

    I could see Danny singing something similar to a song like this one as well, Keith Anderson’s “I still Miss You”, but I think that this song could definitely be a sad song for Danny to sing.

    Latrece, I will not be at home when the Bucks game streams tonight on that website as we have arrangements to go out with friends. We are usually home Saturday nights so this is just my luck.     steph6449, a radio tour is when an artist visits various radio stations across the country for a brief interview, where the song being pushed is played at the time. This is in the hopes that the station’s DJ’s will pick up on it and give it a lot of airplay.

    Shirl, there must be more with Danny’s “radio tour” though, if he will be bringing several musicians/singers with him?
    The tweets yesterday said there would be at least keyboards, acoustic guitar, and background vocalists. (listing those separately, where it sounded like the backup singers would not be the keyboard or guitar playing pulling double duty)

    I find it interesting that a couple of songs on Adam’s album have the same title as some old standards from back in the day. I was kinda hoping they’d be the same songs and was interested in what his version might be, but they are not the same songs.

    One is “Fever” which was made popular by jazz singer Peggy Lee back in the late 50’s. Another was “If I Had You” which is another old standard, not sure anymore who originally recorded or or who wrote it….and no time now to research.

    I bet if Karen were here, she’d agree with me and remember these old songs!

    FoGS, I could see Danny doing a song like that Keith Anderson song. It’s interesting watching the video that Keith plays the piano in it, where you usually see country artists who play instruments with a guitar.
    I wonder how well Danny plays piano. Danny seems to express his music most vocally, and I’m sure he’s not as good as Matt or Scott. But if he plays well enough to try it in public, it might be interesting to see that sometime with the right song.

    Country artists usually do play guitars in their videos, but there are times when you will see some of them play piano in their videos. I wonder how well Danny plays piano too, I do remember someone asking him on Twitter how well he played and he said he needed to practice.

    It would be cool if he practiced more and eventually became comfortable enough to play in public.

    FOGS, I can definitely see Danny singing She Wouldn’t Be Gone. I know I’d like it more than I liked Blake’s version as he’s still just a bit too countrified for me. Not all that twangy but there’s that good ol’ boy country accent that I’m just not crazy about, that so many country singers have.

    Shirl, I just saw your comment, before I wrote my last post. I like “She Wouldn’t be gone” and the funkiness of the song. I think that it would be interesting if Danny tried to sing a song like that. I think that he could possibly do decently on a song like that, if it were tailored a little more to his own personal style/voice. I could see him bringing a really soulful edge to a song like that.

    Miley Cyrus did an acoustic radio tour in 2009 for her song “The Climb”. I suspect this is what they are gearing up for Danny. To vist radio stations in different cities and do an interview plus he will sing an acoustic version of his new single. I really hope Danny does something like this because he is completely unknown to country music fans.

    I never really to radio so couldn’t imagine.

    I saw someone at mj’s questioning Dec 14th as a release date saying that radio stations may lock their playlists for the holidays to include a lot of Christmas music, and so might not be apt to pick up a new single coming out in that timeframe. They weren’t sure if that would be true for country stations, however.

    I think Danny would be great at singing Christmas songs along with his single. I hope that’s something they have planned. I’ve seen artists appear on the tv morning shows to do one of their own songs, and a holiday themed song. Danny would be really good at that.

    Katy, I think so if you’re on the east coast.
    Someone in Milwaukee who knew that radio station was suggesting to listen from 10 – 2 (Milwaukee time), because the interview is supposed to be with Rahny Taylor who co-hosts a show during that spot on Saturdays.

    Could also be though that he will interview Danny some other time in the day, maybe even in person at the Bradley Center before the game starts.

    Also 7:30 is the start time on the Bucks website. I’m not totally sure if that is when the game itself starts, or when the preliminaries would begin including Danny’s singing of the national anthem.

    Katy, I don’t know really. I’ve listened in to that station off and on today in between doing some other things. So far I haven’t heard Rahny at all, just his female cohost.

    They do post interviews to their website for that station for playback later, including their interviews with Danny in the past. So I hope if we don’t hear this one live, they will post it so we can hear them it later. (Or really, post both interviews including the one yesterday as well as the second one supposedly today.)

    For anyone who does hear it live, I hope they come here and give us a breakdown of what Danny says though :)

    Hi everyone! Just back from setting up the Halloween party our office hosts for the kids. I have to go back later, but think I’ll be back in time to listen to the live stream. I had today’s pic as my gravatar for a while – it’s one of my favs! His eyes are smoldering!

    Sherry mentioned that JS was at one of the idol shows, so maybe that’s when he first was impressed with Danny and started writing songs with him in mind (if JS was the one Richard Rushfield was talking about).

    It does sound like Danny’s people are really giving him a great deal of support and he is surrounding himself with good writers etc..

    Well, I listened to KissFM but got no additional info on Danny. In fact Rahny Taylor didn’t work his shift, just his co-host. Probably because he’s announcing the Bucks tonight and hanging with Danny late afternoon? I’m also speculating that the interview won’t come until around game time and who knows when/how it will be broadcast. At least it will be available in the Audio vault, but there appears to be almost a week of lag time. Bummer. I guess this is just another lesson in PATIENCE. Jan

    Steph–I was at work yesteday checking my account, and there this GORgeous young hispanic Male, who was very friendly :) !! I was surprised how friendly he was because usually when they are that handsome they are pretty arrogant; however, I think he thought I was one of the students, he started talking and telling me he has been waiting for while to access his account, he was smiling very talkative.

    He wasn’t that tall, he was about 5′5″ but well proportioned, he had long thick dark hair ( which I do not like guys with long!! yuck), but it worked well for him, it was neat. He told me he was 23 years old yikes!! then he asked me what classes were I taking, I kinda ignored it because I didn’t want him to know that I was a teacher because I wanted him to continue talking/flirting with me?? bad girl I know! Eventually I told him that I was a teacher but he didn’t care!! he kept right on smiling and talking for a long time about 30 minutes!! he was totally engaged in a conversation with me!! he did not look at the other beautiful students around him, he was totally into me!! finally, I went and talked with the lady in the business office, when I got ready to leave, he was standing near the door! and he said nice to talking with me and good bye!!, I was swooning!!

    I hope that Danny has a chance to talk to Trace Adkins somewhere along the line. He’s a real genuine guy. I think he won “Celebrity Apprentice.” His charity had to do with food allergies. His daughter has severe food allergies. He spoke about their many trips to the emergency room.

    Trace did seem like a nice guy on the Apprentice show, although I’m pretty sure the other person won and Trace was runner-up (British fellow, forget his name but knew Simon Cowell?).     Sorry, told you had laptop problems-Anyway, about Danyl-he sang Aerosmith, Don`t Want To Miss A Thing and he was off key for the first part-he really did a fantastic job on the big notes in the song-but, he looked like he`dbeen drugged or something-now everyone says he`s lost his confidence, the guy can`t win!! Joe sang `Don`t Stop Believing` it was so nice to hear it again, I was singing along and it certainly showed how Adam sang in a higher key than the original melody! Then Lucie sang Sweet Child Of Mine-so, lots of memories tonight-Olly was great-he unbuttoned his shirt at the end of the song!! Well, it is still early there- 10.30 here-I will try the ustream, and hope one of you ladies will tell me when Danny comes on, otherwise, I can see myself missing him!

    Carole, I know — yay :) I hope some of the iheart / SHF volunteers will be able to watch the sound check since they’re expecting to be pretty busy at the SHF tables around half-time.

    I wasn’t expecting My Wish to be one of the songs since to me it’s more of a mid-tempo feel, but maybe Danny will take it a little more uptempo for this situation.

    Carole, I just watched Danyl’s performance of I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing, and the poor guy, you can really tell he’s feeling the pressure of being hated on so much, and landing in the Bottom 2 last week. He’s hated for no reason other than Simon’s overpimping (Simon stood up AGAIN even though Danyl was off key during most of the song) and what some people perceive as a cocky attitude. It reminds me SO much of Danny during the show. I can tell Danyl’s really sensitive, and unfortunately for him, his skin is much thinner than Danny’s. Poor guy looked like he was on the verge of bawling during the judges’ comments. SImon even publicly stated he could tell the pressure of being “the most hated contestant in history” was getting to him. I’m not sure Danyl can let the hate bounce off him as well as Danny could, being that sensitive, and it really is affecting his performances. Out of curiosity, I googled Danyl Johnson’s name and it’s true–the message boards are full of Danyl-hate, and the things they say are almost the same things they said about Danny (other than accusing him of killing his wife, etc.) all during the season. Danyl needs to take a lesson from Danny and not let the hate get him down. He’s hated because he’s so good, and there’s a lot of jealousy out there. And Simon needs to take a lesson from the past and realize that he is not doing Danyl any favors by praising him so effusively every week. Carole, how many contestants are left? Danyl should win, but I doubt he will now, because the hate is affecting his singing too much. He might wind up being third like Danny. What do you think?

    Carole, the gametime is supposed to be 8:30 Milwaukee time, so a little more than two hours from now.
    I’d probably try tuning in earlier though in case they show anything beforehand. I’m not sure when they would show the national anthem in relation to the advertised start time of the game.

    I saw someone on twitter (@revsac) who was saying that she thought she found it on her digital cable. I took another look at mine, and it seems possibly to be on my Comcast digital service — cchannel 757! never looked anywhere past 200 before, lol.

    They do at least have pre-game stuff on now, so I’m hoping…. That would be great to be able to watch it on tv vs. the ustream.

    I could see just a little bit that there was a half-time performance behind the sportscasters and hear the crowd cheering it. Couldn’t hear Danny at all though :(

    Helio, I’m so sorry you’re having such a rough time. That may be a good idea to think about something you enjoy that you can spend time with comfortably without it being a source of stress in some other way. I love to read also, and like you said the libraries are free and there to be enjoyed.

    Helio, I feel for you-really do, I can`t work, daughter does the odd job here and there-no phone, mobile only, cos free texts! Dial up because if I could get broadband, no credit card to pay it! My husband was a builder, had his own business for a while- but he was a gambler-so there was not a lot of money life is hard-and I hope you can at least find a way to keep the internet-you don`t want to lose contact with the outside world and we`d miss you!

    GokeyGuy-NO Danyl sang Don`t Wanna Miss A Thing-by Aerosmith-there was a problem with the sound and he went off key at the start, but he really hit those `glory notes`-it`s just like he looked as if all his confidence had gone-like him or loathe him, no-one deserves all that `hate`-Helio said the Internet .is full of it. Joe,the 18 year old sang Don`t Stop[ Believing-that was so good to hear the group AI tour song again-I`ll have to go and listen to the original I think!!

    Carole – Im sorry if you’re a Danyl fan but his fate will be like whatever now. Im seeing his future like Danny/Adam was. there will be hate, thanks to the judges and probably, there will be fame. Im very distracted to his facial expression though seriously. And Allison’s performance on that song is much much better than his, im sorry to say that. I wish Simon and others will stop this trend for other future superstars in the making. just judge them by their performance not for the hype of it…

    GokeyGuy, don`t be sorry, yes, Ilike Danyl-I like someone who puts on a performance-but,in the end, with all the hype-it`s hard for the contestant and it makes the haters come out in force-as weknow-Joe, for example, gave a good performance of D.S.B. and Lucie, who I really like-sang Sweet Child Of Mine and proved how versatile she really is-Olly, who is a local boy, about 3ominutes from me!He is the `dark horse`-he`s likeable, talented, can dance-and he`s funny! December 12th is final show-we will see!

    Sorry, laptop decided it wanted to go on Twitter and then Danny singing the NA!!I was about to say, just watched the Xtra Factor and they had video of Danyls family and the school where he teaches music and drama-the kids obviously love him, his co workers too-His Mum looks young and she clearly loves him to bits-as does his sister and his nephew-Lots of friends fromthe local Pub-He is well thought of-so-that, to me, is proof that he`s a nice guy-like our Danny- it`s a pretty sad reflection on our society that `nice` is not cool, don`t you think?
