Latrece I tried getting up and getting ready for work but no go! Looks like one more day of resting my back and hopefully I’ll be fully functional.

Helio It must have been really difficult selecting which pics to add to your journal. There are so many amazing pics of Danny. Same with videos. Too many to choose from. That’s just one reason I admire you for being able to write the journal – if I were to attempt that I would be so overwhelmed by the quantity of info, pics, videos, interviews, etc. that I wouldn’t know where to begin!
Hello everybody! I’m getting totally frustrated not being able to come to the site that often at the moment.. I’m running around like crazy trying to do many things at the same time.
Just wanted you all know that I miss chatting with you and sharing the Danny news with the rest of you Gokey “fanatics”.
It was great to see that John had visited the site again and that there are also other new faces around. There were so many comments yeaterday and I came to work a little late, because I just had to read them before leaving for work.
Pam, you are quite right in what you said. I’m really busy at work and having to arrange my travel itinerary etc..
Cheryl, sorry to hear about your back. You have to take it easy now and not to rush things.

Speaking of photos, I saw the ones from the GMA concert. Danny got around to meeting the people there. Networking and meeting artists in another genre besides can help him out, too. I didn’t count how many pics he was in but it looked like a really good event. I hope that he got to meet and talk w/Kirk Franklin again. I think he tweeted about meeting him while he was on ‘Idol’. Anyway, that was to cool to see that as well. Other than that, what’s going on to the people that are still on here???

Cheryl and Pam-I got one of the same DM’s from Helio, too. I sent her a message about it. Good Lord, I really don’t want to go through all the hassle of changing my password again. The last time that happened, I ended up changing it twice. I had changed it once before that,too. But if I see that I’m sending out weird DM’s on my twitter I’ll try and reset my password. Stephanie-I got the same link from Helio, too, but if you clicked on it you may want to change/reset your password b/c the same exact thing happened the last time on twitter where a lot of people’s twitters were hacked into b/c some website or whomever was hacking into accts. So if you noticed in your DM’s of weird messages that says you sent it to all of your followers then that’s what it is.
Home now from all my errands, and find that video link on Twitter that “helio” sent. I copied the url into my browser and got a message that said it was not a known site. I sensed a red flag go up because I know I’m not on any video!
I was listening to my CD of Danny’s studio songs on my car stereo this morning, and it always really amazes me just how very talented he is! I always really swoooooooon every time I hear him sing CROCS! I still kinda wish he was doing an album of the old standards instead of country. If Michael Buble can do it, why can’t Danny?!
Also….every time I hear him sing that song, I think of Karen and remember how much she loved it too. We used to talk about it all the time on here. Missing her SO much! I worry that something happened to her because I don’t think she’d stay away from Dannyland this long.

Dee It was rather sudden that Vickie Carol an Karen left. Vickie Carol did come back once or twice and I suspect she will be back when Danny’s single is out. On the night of the last tour show Karen did say she promised her hubby that she wouldn’t spend as much time on the computer, but I really didn’t think it would end that night. Maybe it really was getting to be a problem and so she knew it was going to take going cold turkey to stop it. No way could I turn myself off of Danny that fast!
Cheryl – totally agree with you. I could never go cold turkey on Danny. I know my husband and son make fun of me when I am on the computer at home, but that’s life! They have their hobbies and I have mine.

I was just checking out that http://www.urbandictionary.com site and I saw on someone’s twitter that if you type in Danny’s name you get a lot of really, bad haterish, definitions for his name. I did and the haters never seem to fail me. It was pretty much the same harsh name calling they call him all the time but the postings are pretty old from the people who post them. Besides the “stuck-on-stupid” haters comment, I guess if you type in your name or someone else you’ll get a definition of what their name means. It’s pretty interesting. Don’t go on there to see what the “stuck-on-stupid” haters had to say about Danny. Just check it out for your personal amusement

I had to reread them a couple of times to be like, “umm…okay???” but finally stopped reading them afterwards. People have to make themselves feel better by being a-holes and ‘witches’ to people like Danny. It’s all good. Karma is such a glorious thing when it’s used in the right way to haters like those

Cheryl WOW most people are disappearing as I figured when Danny’s tour was over: I guess we are going to have find other ways to get our Danny fix?? I am going to seriously find other meaningful things to do with my lfe, I have been neglecting my social life and I don’t like the way that feels. I have put off dating ( maybe that’s a good thing these days!!), I did not enjoy the summer like I should because I was in Dannyland too much so now it is cold!! I gotta get a grip! I can tell most people are resuming their normal lives again. I know I will continue to visit because I love you all, but gooodness this is insane!! wanting more and not being able to get more!! Helio I am going to refocus and get back into doing things I enjoy; this is not doing it for me anymore, It is not satisfying to just to be here only. Most of the fans have moved on and gotten back into the mainstream of things. Of course I am going to always visit here, but I am really really going to scale back, this is insane!! Nancy, twitter search sucks! I never find people that way. Usually I have to go to someone’s followers I know and look for the one I’m looking for.
Helio, I do know what you mean! And completely understand! I am not ready to give up my Danny addiction yet! Thought it would grow weaker after tour, but now I’m not so sure. But it also just isn’t a Danny addiction; I think we all enjoy talking to one another and socializing too, which is not a bad thing. I used to watch so much more TV last year than now; I think this is healthier than sitting in front of the TV don’t you?
Latrece, I think you are voicing what I feel also. It’s easier in our climate to sit inside when the weather is bad too.
I’m sure all of us will be curbing our obsession somewhat with time, and being more practical.
Also, everyone, just because some people are visiting less doesn’t mean they’re gone for good (I fear this talk of Karen is giving everyone the impression everyone will go that way). And there are new people who actually feel more comfortable joining in too.
Some days are just slower, especially with no Danny news. But look at yesterday- almost 500 comments 1 month after the tour ended!

I hardly watch TV either. I’m an Idol addict, but I also watch Hell’s Kitchen, America’s Next Top Model, Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations (he’s hot!), and the news. I do watch Behind the Music on VH1, and lately I’ve become addicted to My Antonio, a dating reality show on VH1. I like Tully (his ex wife who is competing on the show), I hope she wins. I think they still do love each other but Antonio’s mom can’t stand her. There’s jsut three girls left now. I usually can’t stand those VH1 reality shows (they are so trashy), but this one is a little better than the rest–and Antonio’s actually a desirable man.

I’m still going to be here. I have to stay connected with all my Danny friends! I think all of us have decreased our time spent here and that is true for me as well. I admit I am truly addicted to Danny but as long as I can find a balance I won’t give up my addiction. This is a place I love to come to share the Danny love, but it has also been a place where I have met some wonderful people and I don’t want that connection to end either. I never ever dreamed I would connect with people on the Internet – I always thought it was weird that people talk to ‘strangers’ online, but boy I learned that you actually can meet very nice, interesting people on line. You are all proof of that!

I use my DVR a lot! I watch too many shows to even begin to name! I watch most of them on weekends during the overnight hours. Lost is my favorite along with The Office, Project Runway, Top Chef, Amazing Race and on and on. I am a political junkie so I watch a lot of MSNBC, CNN, PBS and CSpan. Wow I just realized I watch way too much TV!

I had to trim some of the threads off of it and had to touch up the snap buttons with black nail polish because they were getting chipped in places. But it’s still on my wrist

We don’t have a DVR either, and other than AI all I had watched was SYTYCD, Project Runway, and baseball. I spent more time poking around on my computer or reading. And ever since Daniel J. Gokey came into my life, I haven’t done ANY of that any more except spend time in Dannyland and most especially on HERE!
I have never been this addicted to any celebrity before in my life to where I spent HOURS hanging around on a discussion board or forum. And then of course there’s Twitter. That just takes up so much of my time! I’ve neglected other cyber-pals just because I can’t seem to tear myself away from here and Twitter, not to mention how much time I spend watching Danny’s videos here and there and on youtube.
I know I could never quit cold turkey. I’d be lost without Danny in my life and I could never stay away from here in case I might miss something! I would grovel for crumbs of information, news or gossip on Danny….that is how addicted I am to him. NOT TO MENTION how much I have come to love everyone HERE. I feel closer to most of the people on his site than I do some acquaintances I’ve known for YEARS.
We live out in the boonies and I don’t have many real close friends that I’ve known over the years because I grew up outside of Philly and have lost touch with school friends and neighbors. People around here aren’t into AI! People around here are very friendly, but rather insular and strictly into their own families.
I could no way leave this site and everyone here anymore than I could cut off my right arm. It has been an amazing journey and I so value the friends I have found here! We share and we care, we’ve been through good times and bad times, have worried together, cheered together, shared pics and concert recaps with each other. That has just meant the world to me and I want y’all to know that.

Shirl, I know how you feel! I’m kind of isolated, even if it’s by choice mostly. I live with my 17 year old son and am kind of/sort of friendly with my ex but we don’t live together. My daughter doesn’t live with me and I only get to see her once a week. My family’s scattered all over the country and we’ve never been close anyway. I have few friends because in real life I’m pretty introverted and not terribly social. I’m much more outgoing and open on the messageboards, which is why I’m such an internet addict. I don’t know what I’d do without the internet, and books. I’m a nerd and tend to isolate, I have always been this way. I live in my head much of the time, and so I kind of need this addiction because to be completely honest I don’t have much of a life without it.

Nancy, not sure. Maybe that was me, lol. I did post a mention here whenever that was when Rickey put two items on his blog that Danny forgot the words to JTTW and had to zip his fly at MSMC. Seemed unnecessary for him to be putting those out there as headlined posts, especially without his having put a post up about the concert itself which was very ambitious for Danny to tackle in his first solo event, and overall generally received.
I didn’t take it as Rickey hating on Danny exactly, though. He’s been complimentary to Danny in a few different situations–when he attended the AI Tour, was stalking Danny in NYC (lol), and recently when he posted Danny’s “Honolulu” mp3s.
I guess I’ll apologize to Rickey then!

Steph6449 I did not think it was you but the “other” Stephanie. She said she could not get her card to work on the SHF site, and I offered to order for her because I don’t want any true fan without a bracelet. I was just going to let her know, I am trying…but that new site is not user friendly. I placed the order once and they wrote back and said I was confirmed on the email list..and I had already gotten on that. So I am waiting to see if they really got the order, but in the past, Ivan has written and he did not this time.
Well, I personally think he could pull off Dream On in concert, but after screaming that for so many times, it just got away from him on the show. The studio version is really quite good! Guess we will never know that he is heading for the country genre though.

I don’t think Rickey hates Danny at all, but here’s my take on him. Rickey is a hack journalist, who tends to post the most sensationalistic, negative, and gossipy material he can find. He doesn’t research his material or get his facts straight. Danny hasn’t been his only “victim,” in fact just about all the idols (past and present) have gotten this same kind of treatment. Rickey’s intentions aren’t bad, but he tends to focus on gossip and sensationalism. It pretty much comes down to laziness. He’s a bad journalist, but not a hater.

I’ll go to some places, but that one is too much for me. And Helio of course is too famous to go there in person, lol.
Pam, yes, I remember the girl who walked on the bus when David was getting dressed. I wonder how much she saw, lol.
No wonder David has become more reticent with his fans. People were also camping out in front of his hotel rooms and sticking things on the bus. He wrote a vlog asking people to back off some (it was very polite and respectful) but I remember him getting a lot of hate for it.
Danny will no doubt get to the point where he will have to become less accessible too (and I’m sure he’ll be as nice about it as DC and of course get hate for it). He’s been so accomodating that it’s bound to get out of control and he will have no choice.
This happened with Ace Young too. He was really nice to his fans, but got bombarded and overwhelmed and had to become less accessible.

Steph, haha, they are brain injured at Idletard. I want to read what they say! I know they talk about me, but I don’t care! I sometimes read the Idletard and Frau thread at VFTW (I think they are connected somehow, I think Smartie runs both sites, not sure) and they can be very funny, even if they are cruel.
I wish they’d unblock my IP so I can read what they say and have a few laughs (even if at my own expense).
