The alums of American Idol Season 8 performed live on Aug. 11 as part of the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2009 at the Nassau Coliseum. The singers performed in the order in which they were eliminated from the show.

Third place finalist Danny Gokey performed Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T.” and Carlos Santana’s “Maria Maria.” Gokey’s best vocals were during his performances of the Rascal Flatts songs “What Hurts the Most” and “My Wish,” which point to a potential career in country music.

Despite the deafening screams of the audience members throughout the show, the American Idol LIVE! Tour 2009 is a worthwhile musical experience. It is the only way to see ten headlining vocalists on the same stage; it’s a great show.Grade: A-
