Weather cooperated! Rain went away and it was juuust right. Cool enough not to sweat but tshirt weather. Even got a little sunburned when sun came out. Got there about 12:30, met up with some Gokey Gang from all over the US and the enthusiastic groupie Gokie Scouts! (met them last night actually if you read that post). Decided to hang with all the iheart girls at the south barricades; we hit it off and spent the afternoon together.
Danny came out briefly for 10 min, hit the other side and was stalled by the Gokey Gang over there for quite a while. He said he’d be back and went back inside. Met everyone else except Lil, Kris and Adam. There were a fair amt. of Adam fans but Gokey fans did outnumber I think; its just that you could tell a lot of them werren’t on the internet and didn’t know about the purple! Big group of Anoop fans.
Matt was sweet, Michael was very talkative (stayed out about an hour!). Megan was nice, but almost seemed annoyed to be there! Anoop was sweet, not very talkative, no pics with him, and I must say much better looking than on TV. Scott v. sweet and talkative too. Allison was funny and certainly personable, stayed out a long time which was surprising; I’d heard from other venues she was either standoffish and often didn’t come out. Maybe because it was Danny’s hometown she felt at home, but I found her cute and personable/accomodating.
Well, 5pm came and the people I was actually attending the concert with arrived. They didn’t want to wait at barricades and wanted to eat so I did the right thing and went across the street to Turner Hall for fish fry with them. Very depressed, tho, cuz I hadn’t given Danny his gift (a book, and painted rock) or talked to him, etc. Michelle had a huge pic of Danny and Sophia framed she wanted to give also. Well, I got a call at the restaurant (from Jen or Michelle; it was such a surreal blur-Shirl you are so right!, I wish I could remember every detail better) that he had met them and signed autos, but would come back around again, so at 5:30 I RAN back across the road and sure enough got a pic with him. I already posted how adorable he was; I was starstruck (Michelle was shaking as she took my pic, lol) and it was like a dream; wish I could have reveled in the moment. I wish I could have talked to him, but it was almost 6 (concert starts at 7!) and he was so sweet doing this for us, and I knew there were still about 10 other people wanting pics. SIGH, he is sooo adorable ( I can’t even say adorkable anymore cuz he most definitely is not awkward in any shape or form). Ran back to restaurant, then back again because I was so starstruck by Danny I had forgotten my backpack/tickets everything at barricades!!! Thank god for the iheart girls.
Oh, I did feel bad for all the Lambert teenies waiting outside. Two shoved up by us and said “We want to give our gifts to Megan to give to Adam” after I told them Adam would not be out. I told them that the idols don’t like it when you do that, its not polite, but they said “But she’s already carrying an album for him”. Ah, self centered youth. But I don’t think they did give it to her; they stuck it in the bushes for afterwards! So I ate a few bites back at restaurant, then headed back to BC.
The Concert:
As said before, definitely Danny crowd, tho good support for all.
Michael- He did very well, good voice!, and Milw. really liked him!
Megan- Liked her first song, none of the rest of hers. The hair is completely hideous; the guys have it easy compared to her, lol.
Scott- Very good; sounded better than on the show!
Lil- Not a fan of hers and she didn’t do anything to change my mind; she looked great, but nothing special about her singing/voice.
Anoop- Good singing, but didn’t thrill me like some people. Milw. liked him . My friend who doesn’t do the internet forums asked why everyone was booing him; I had to explain they were yelling Anoooooooop.
Matt-OMG! Incredible. I was never a Matt fan on the show (except he was DAnny’s buddy), but wow, great performance and mad piano skills. I thought he response was better from Milw that Kris’s and almost as good as Adam’s.
Allison- I liked Allison on the show but was dissapointed in her live. She shouted the songs, not very melodic. Thought she did have good stage presence sometimes, and I did love Cry Baby. She also helped me enjoy Adam, lol IN Slow Ride.
DANNY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was awesome of course. I thought he sounded hoarse during PYT., but ok during other songs- I’m sure he never shut his mouth the whole 2 days he was in Milgokey, lol, so I’m sure he was hoarse. I’ll have to listen to videos, sometimes I couldn’t hear him cuz of others or my screaming! Loved My Wish the best. The whole stadium (A DJ said it was sold out, but I also heard there were a few single seats left ) waved in time to My Wish, it was something to see. I don’t think he cried, he just grinned a lot and seemed very professional.
Adam- I actually thought he would be more spectacular than he was; maybe from media hype and his fans reviews. I didn’t get the rave reviews- thought his voice sounded way higher than on the show, not pleasant (someone mentioned helium here), esp during Starlight. He most definitely got the best special effects and its difficult to not be excited by the music of “Whole Lotta Love”. I liked Slow Ride the best. People in my section, even tho a lot seemed like Adam fans didn’t seem that excited either, but its true, there is a lot of teenie-style squealing, esp., from the floor. He said very sweet comment about Danny, thanking Milw. for being so sweet, and said “Now I know where Danny gets it from”. Awwww, very big of him.
KRIS! I actually enjoyed Kris a lot more than I thought (because of the negative media crap about him being boring after Adam)- Musically talented and think he will record well. Hey Jude was really good I thought. Stayed for the whole thing cuz it was raining after and I already met Danny and my friend hadn’t seen any videos, or anything of the concert. Milwaukee doesn’t throw things! I saw one orange boa thrown at Michael which he wore, and something (couldn’t tell what it was) thrown at Kris which he ignored. Maybe others saw differently, I was off to the side up first level.
Member of our party who didn’t do AI said he thought Whole lotta love was best, cuz Zeppelin is hard to sing and commented that Danny was the only one who nailed some note in the Journey song that everyone else either had to go down in range on, or go into falsetto to get. Soaked after concert and exhausted-didn’t stay in the rain for after signing.

I went to the Milwaukee show and I had a blast. I did not get a chance to meet the guys previously to the show, but I think that the crowd was pumped being Danny’s hometown show.
I thought that it was awesome and just loved Danny’s set. I was dancing in my seat and I was way up on the top. If anyone wants to see my pics go to my Facebook page I have them downloaded to the site.
The whole Bradley Center was rocking with the idols up on stage. I have a cold now, but it was worth it to see Danny and the gang live!
