Amy’s Recap of Danny Gokey in Charlotte, NC Part 1

I can’t leave you with nothing tonight. So here is my picture with him tonight and the recap up to when I got the backstage passes.

I get there about 1:30 and get the last spot at the gate. They were already lined up all the way across and started two and three layers back. Kris and Anoop come out first. I got Anoop’s signature and then Kris’ signature and picture. Since no one went with me, I was taking all the pictures by myself and Kris said I was multi-talented! HA! I was like a mad woman with all the electronics. I had my camera, Flip and iPhone trying to do it all. PLUS, the autograph book! I’m sure I looked like a nut seeing that I was also wearing my I <3 Danny Gokey shirt and had a present at my feet. Yikes!
Anyway, Michael came out next (I THINK). I was able to get his autograph. And then Danny and Matt came out. Matt came to our end and then Danny went to the other. I got Matt’s autograph.
Then down the line DANNY came. Ya’ll, I was getting so nervous and almost sick to my stomach. I wasn’t sure what to say. He was really starting to hurry people up. At one point I thought he was stopping picture taking. When he got to me I introduced myself and said I was Amy from IHeartDannyGokey. He was like, oh yeah, on Twitter right? I said, the site. He said, yeah, I’ve been there. He gave me a big hug and said thank you so much. I got his autograph and then I got a picture. Someone stuck a book out for him to sign and he said, What a minute, I want to get this picture. Then he leaned his arms on the gate like he was going to take a minute to talk. I told him I had a gift for him and he thanked me and gave me another hug. Wow, I’m going to sound fangirl but I put my hand on the back of his neck. I remember feeling his hair where it’s like a buzz cut. Ahh! I think we were saying something about twitter and he said he’d seen messages and I said yeah, all the girls were trying to get backstage passes. He said, check your Twitter after the concert and I’ll see what we can work out. They don’t like us adding them so late but I’ll see what I can do. He asked how many people I had with me and for some dumb reason I said 2 instead of 3 (we had someone take my other ticket last minute). But he said again to check my DM. I told him let us (as the fan site) know if there’s every anything we can do for him and he said yeah, we can DM on Twitter. So he said again to check DMs and then gave me another hug. You can see in the pics he’s carrying my bag. Honest to goodness, he really, really took way more time with me than anyone else in line. He was a total sweetheart. Very, very genuine.

Megan and Scott came out after that as well.  I got autographs and pictures.

At 5pm I got a DM from Danny saying I had the 3 passes waiting.
