    Oops! I didn’t realize this was already posted on the first page. I loved the interview. I’m glad David likes Danny, he called him cool! They are my favorite idols ever.

    Bad news. I do not think I will be driving to Charlotte this Saturday. I have too many errands to catch up on this weekend and no one to go with. I think I’m going to wait to meet Danny when he has a solo tour. If I change my mind at the last minute, I’ll let you all know so you can tweet him. Meanwhile I’m living vicariously through everyone else’s amazing recaps.

    Hi Karen,

    Saw you left a post on yesterday’s thread. I’ve been missing talking to you and the other Gokey Girls. Took me hours to catch up on all the news. Danny has been a bit quiet on Twitter, but I assume that he needs his rest. He can’t just spend all his time pleasing other people, but have to take care of himself as well. I just got the feeling that Danny has two sides to him. He is really social and talkative, but most likely also wants to have his own space every now and then in order to recharge his batteries. It’s most probably quite an overwhelming feeling for Danny to be in the center of attention and surrounded by all those screaming fans. I saw a video in which some girls were screaming their heads off. I do hope that Danny understands the importance of taking some time just for himself, because he is still processing a lot of things and should not forget to do that. That is called the healing process.

    Ok here is my Tampa update… (sorry its so long overdue)

    this has been me the past few days ~~~> ???

    So my friend and I heard the Idols usually arrive around noon at the venues so we tried to get there a little earlier so we could wait for them. Me – being completely retarded and focused only on Danny’s lovely eyes, face, glasses, bod and voice – did not plan very well for this day. I never applied any sunscreen on myself (yeah, regretting that one now)…I never brought an umbrella with me (the top of my head thanks me for that too)…and I didn’t bring any photos to be signed (and I think the postcard I had Kris sign was a first for him based on his reaction lol).

    So the bus finally arrives around 2. Adam and Matt open the window and look at us as the bus drives in. People are screaming around me as I wave casually to them. Since there werent many ppl, I think they looked at each of us individually but what do I know? I might be retarded for not bringing sunblock but at least I wasnt taking pictures of a plain bus like some people were doing. Its a bus…come on. lol [image]

    sorry…end of rant.

    So…there was controversy on if the Idols would even go to sign autographs were we were…so my friend and i went around to the front to wait there. After some time my friend had to go sit in the shade, so as the danny dedicated fan that I am…I waited by the barracade. I got a text from her minutes later saying Matt was just in the back signing autographs and taking pictures! :o :o :o I ran back around to see but he was gone by the time my friend and I made it back. We were dissapointed until we saw Kris walking toward us!!!! [image] [image] [image] He walked around to each person and took photos and signed autographs. I handed him a postcard to sign and he looked at it and said, “This???” lol I said yeah and he signed it. Here is my pic with him:

    Anyways…so as all that happened with Kris, I found out that Matty had went out the front side to sign autographs as well so I missed him twice! All I could think about was how I wanted to get his autograph for xxx! Honestly, I would have forfeited my autograph from him for her b/c he means more to her than me. I kept telling my friend… “I gotta get her his autograph!!!”

    That was it before the show basically. I met some cool fans and one of the Danny fans had a sign for him that said “You had me at hero” (playing off the Jerry McGuire movie) and she also got a DM from Danny saying that he would try to meet her after the show. He never did though. :’(

    So the show was awesome. [image] I just wish I was more awake for it. Sun wears me out tremendously so I was really tired throughout it……however…..I didnt cease from dancing. I love to dance (ask anyone I work with lol) so I was def. doing that for the upbeat songs. (with the exception of my bathroom break during Adams set lol).

    When Danny came out…this was me:

    I dont have to get into details because I’ve read the reviews on him and such and they are accurate. I thought his voice was amazing despite his tweet about it being his worst night. I reframed from watching Maria Maria before the show b/c I wanted to be surprised and boy was I SHOCKED! I loved his dancing so much that I wanted to jump on stage and ask him to teach me how to dance like that…..hahahahaaha.

    Then Adam came out and this was me ~~~> [image]

    But the whip thing was a little creepy….looking back now…I didnt even realize what was going on while I was there…yeah im observant right? [image]

    So after the show my friend and I ran outside so we could get autographs. I waited behind two girls but we could still get stuff signed from where we were. My friend and I joked that I should date a security guard so we could get backstage…..so……I pointed to one of the guards who looked around my age and we joked about me trying to get a date with him during that hour we waited for the idols. The people around me caught onto my plan and one girl took a photo with him (and learned his name was John lol) and other girls were chatting with him for awhile. [image]

    So then Megan came out with Lil and Allison. Lil kinda skipped past my section and never came back so I didnt get her autograph. I did get Megans and Allisons though.

    Then Kris, Matty and Scott came out. Kris started by us and I didnt get another autograph since I had the one from earlier. When Matt came I decided I had to get 2 autographs…one for me and one for xxx. So I place my book to the right of me around one girl’s head and he signed that. Then I got the postcard and placed it around the left side of another girl and he signed that too [image] [image] Dont think he noticed that either. Then Scott came by and he signed some too. (Not gonna say what happened there b/c im mad at how the Adam fans treated him).

    Finally Danny, Michael, and Anoop came out! I missed Anoops autograph b/c I didnt have my book ready in time and Michael took my book, signed it, and then handed it back to me while making direct eye contact with me for a few seconds. I thanked him and he said you’re welcome.

    When Danny came by me I really wanted to tell him about a million things but I couldnt get one thing out except the traditional “hello” :( Yeah, i’m lame. Anyways, he looked amazing as always and I was just staring at him the entire time. I was a little disappointed that he wouldnt take pics (he said he couldnt) but then a few more ppl down, he actually took pics!!!! I was a little mad but let it go b/c my friends camera died so if I got a pic it would have been with someone else’s camera anyways. He probably just didnt want to take a pic with those adam fans around me [image]

    So the one thing that really upset me while I was there were those crazy Adam fans. Not only did they scream and chant for him the entire time, but they were rude to other idols about it. One asked Michael if Adam was coming out and Michael looked upset about that. Oh those Adam fans… :(

    So my friend and I were eyeing Danny as he went around b/c we planned to go around the back if Danny didnt come back around to take photos. I thought he was because he came back around right in front of me and as I was trying to get his attention, he did this dance in front of us, jumped in the air, threw something, and then ran back inside. I was like… :o “wha???”

    So my friend and i ran around to the back hoping he would come out but he didnt. Megan was the only one that came back there to sign stuff. I didnt care for her much on AI but that was nice of her to walk over and sign stuff and take pics when no one else did. Gotta give her kudos for that.

    Soooooooooooooooo after that my friend and I walked back to her car. I had my pepper spray in one hand and she had her keys in hers. I was soo ready to beat up someone who would try to jump us…seriously. Anyways…that is my lovely story. Not much to it sorry…..but I did enjoy the concert and everything about the day (except the adam fans)…but all is well now.

    What about the campaign for his hair!! I live in Ga..
    Was going to the show tonight, but husband is having
    trouble with his back..so that put a halt on my plans
    to attend.. Don’t know if Amy planning on trying to meet
    Danny before the show..Hopefully she’ll tweet us during the
    concert and keep us up to date with what’s happening.

    pjgvet – thank you for much for that fan post. You are so thoughtful for posting it for those of us here that don’t get around to the other sites (would love to, but I just don’t have time to keep up with them all).

    Very interesting part about the Adam fan asking Michael if he was coming out, maybe that’s what he was upset about when he mentioned it on twitter.

    Sounds like a strange set-up with idols coming out two entrances to sign autographs – very unusual – and I can see why Stephanie missed him. :(

    I don’t understand why Adam fans think they are on a pedastal higher than everyone else. You have to treat people with respect and dignity and if you don’t, someday it will come back to bite you in the you know what. I think they are really ticked because Adam never comes out to meet and greet the fans.

    It really seems like JennJenn hada lot more time with Danny at the start of the tour and it seems now the time with fans is getting shorter and shorter – just autographs and no pictures. :(

    Hi Karen, hope all is well with you. I’m at home for a bit and then off to visiting relatives for few days. We have a nice summer weather and all is well, thank you for asking. All of us here seem to need our regular Danny “fix”, otherwise we are not able to function. I wonder how many of his fans are tweeting him right now and asking him if he is all right..

    Hannele – are you on twitter yet? It’s funny you mentioned that because last night around 10:00pm I checked the tweets to Danny and there were sooooo many people (ladies) tweeting him and asking if he was o.k, why haven’t we heard for you, etc. etc.

    I don’t know if everyone saw the chippendales video with the heads of Danny, Kris, Adam, Michael, Matt all dancing with their heads on the chippendale dancers body – it was very funny. I think (not sure) @TonyaAM posted it last night. It was very funny. Danny should get a kick out of that and well everyone else can dream about Danny doing a chippendales dance !! LOL!!

    Michelle, I don’t have a twitter account, because I feel that I get all the info that need here at this fansite. I do follow Danny’s Twitter page, but haven’t, at least not yet, had the urge to tweet him directly.

    I wonder if he would notice a tweet from a finnish fan? Don’t know if there are many finnish girls tweeting him..

    some adam fans (not all of them but few of them) are really rude. im currently on twitter fight with an adam fan. she started it by tweeting me and bashing danny. of course i did not reply by bashing adam, i wont do that no matter how i dont like adam. thats what these people want. they expect us danny fans to reply by bashing adam so that they can say to their fellow adam fans how rude we are. but i did not give in to the trap.

    Karen – I really think the Adam fans are mad and bitter that their idol doesn’t make him self as accessible to his fans. The only photos I have seen of him with fans are at those inside meet and greets which he has to attend.

    Michelle, I have to look into this. I don’t actually have any idea how many fans Danny has in Finland. He must have some, because even though AI is shown at a cable channel, that channel has a lot of viewers and they have shown all AI seasons. This season 8 finale was shown only two weeks behind the US schedule.

I don’t respond in a nasty way either-just defend Danny, like send them links when they say IRS isn’t an IRS registered charity, lies like that. But they really don’t want to know, just want to bash because (as one of them puts it) “my cold black heart laughs”. NIce!
    Yeah, Adam fans are funny; instead of resenting their Idol (who is coming out less and less I noticed) they take it out on other Idols-soooo rude and uncool.

    I just read the ‘twitter fight’ comments. I don’t understand why anyone would seek someone else out to shred them because they like something/someone the other person doesn’t. It is so bizarre to me. I happen to like all the contestants this year. Some (obviously) more than others. Gees, just let people like what they like and let it go.

    Hi Karen, I’m so lame… I couldn’t find the button that shows the top 10. Tell me again where it is….

    I’m feeling really good. I’m taking Sara to cello in about 10 minutes and I’m bringing the dog so I can walk him while she is in her lesson. It’s so nice to be able to get out of bed and not WINCE! Those last few weeks before surgery were so hard. It will be a few more weeks before I go back to work, I think. That will be hard. I teach fitness classes and now I feel like my classes will have to teach me!

    GooDmorning gokey girls– I missed you all from last night. I read all the comments from yesterday and they were exciting; I love the recaps PJGVET posted from Danny fans at the sunrise concert, it was great!!! my heart goes out to Danny because he needs some recovery time/rest for his voice!! I kinda figure his voice is very susceptible to being strained because he puts a lot of effort into his singing and he has to sing over the band. Sometimes the Band plays louder than when Danny sings so he has to exert more effort to sing over the band (they need to do more sound checks before the concert starts).

    I believe during this season of challenges with voice, Danny is going to come back STRONGER, more EDGY, more VIBRANT, SMOOTHER, and more ALIVE than ever before!!! Remember Danny is a completely committed individual; right now in this season of soreness, his vocals are going to sharpen, become more REFINED. The haters are talking now, but they are going to hate him even more when they see that Amazing growth in his vocal ability (there is always room for improvement for everyone). I am not sure if he will have to go on vocal rest ( I hope not), but I believe he is going come Back with a VENGENCE!!! Well enough of my rant!! I have to go to work today so I hope to talk with you all during the weekend (Sunday)!!

    Took the simple route Karen. Just signed on for an avatar, as instructed. Linked it to my email address, and used a photo I found on photobucket and cropped it (it is not my work). Assumed this was okay to do, because it was available.

    Guys, anyone have any insight to share on the comments Brian Mansfield made regarding Danny’s future success (7/30 topic)?

    I can’t get past his comment, that if there is “no deal released prior to 8/19, that his deal will not be a big one. Wonder what that means? I think it may mean that Danny needs to be picked up by 19 to get the best deal.

    Must say, I’ve done a lot of thinking about this record deal dilemma. I can totally see Danny doing modern county (RF, Keith Urban-ish music), but I can also see him doing other styles of music too. So, I am puzzled.

    He would be a huge hit doing Christian contemporary, there is no denying that one, but he has said this is not his preference. Mansfield seemed to be saying that it was obvious which music market Danny should be targeting. I think he was referring to CC.

    Where do you all think he is headed?

    TrishC sorry you had to deal with a hater on your twitter account bashing Danny and you. Glad you didn’t get drawn into bashing Adam. You are right, she just wants to go back to her fellow Adam fans and talk about how A Gokey fan trashed Adam.

    Danny has a lot of tweets from fans who missed him on twitter, including me.

    Karen I kept up my campaign on the hair. I sent him that picture (your gravatar) and told him his hair look gorgeous on that picture and that he should wear it like that on tour and all the women will want to run their fingers through it! So far the campaign is not working, but I’ll keep trying.

    Maryann— My interpretation of what Brian Manfield’s opinion regarding Danny’s contract is that 19E is a Mega record label, and possibly the Idols contract expires around about that time; therefore Danny needs to solidify a deal before that date or else he may get with an inferior record label. Manfields expressed that he thinks that 19E is not done with Danny yet; he thinks that they are in some type of collaboration or negotiation deal to define what audience Danny is going to appeal to the most (that is the reason Carrie Underwood came to the Memphis concert to see if the diverse audience of Jazz, blues, and country fans would receive him: they received him well!! that was the big test, so to speak for Danny). Memphis is the Mecca city for great music and if Danny passed that test then possibly he has Mass appeal and would do fine in several genres (not just Christian). I think 19 E recognize that Danny has talent, they want to assist him in his contractual deals, but they want to be certain that his vision/ mission is going to appeal to a wider audience so he can be successful in selling records ( hint hint Elliot Yamin , very talented but appealing to the wrong audience).

    Danny’s portion of a review from an Adam and Kris fan at the Tulsa concert:

    “Danny is much better live than on TV. He got quite the applause. The song I was looking forward to was “Maria Maria” which is one of my favorite songs. And he met my expectations on that song. He was really into the music and having so much fun. Danny’s vocals were perfect for the Latin-pop sound and his salsa dancing was quite good. Why didn’t he do this song on the show during one of the more open-ended theme weeks is beyond me. I think he really would have honored his wife if he had sung something Latin influenced. I also see why he’s a motivational speaker because everyone got a taste of it. He spoke about not letting tragedy define who you are and put you down from achieving your dreams. His final two songs put me to sleep. “Maria” was the highlight for Danny Gokey.”

    Maryann – you bring up some very good questions and discussion points. I think Latrece hit it right on also.

    I think Danny is struggling with what direction he wants to go in. I am thinking 19 is pushing him toward country and he wants to do the R/B/latin fusion vibe. There is probably a gap between the type of music Danny wants to do artistically vs. what will sell commerically.

    You have probably missed it from previous discussions, but Modern Country or Contemporary Country if Danny goes that direction will be wildly popular, but maybe that’s not where Danny’s heart is. I am not and have never been a country fan, but have been finding myself liking groups like Rascal Flats and Carrie Underwood, because Danny has sang their songs.

    I really don’t consider Keith Urban country, he really has more of a rock/pop sound to me. If Danny went down that direction, he would be heading for the Grammy’s

    Not everyone likes country, but I don’t think any of us fans, really care what they call it, we just want to hear his voice, his music, his heart. Who cares what “Label” they insist on putting on it?

    I didn’t like that interview that Brian Mansfield did, because he implied that Danny’s fan base is Christian and he implies that Danny should be doing CC music. That is so absurd. Kris Allen was a church music director and a missionary. Why isn’t he saying that about Kris? Why does he assume that the only people attracted to Danny are people who listen to Christian music. I have never bought a Christian album in my life. Out of over 1000 songs on my ipod I have about 3 Christian songs (Kirk Franklin, Sounds of Blackness and Reuben Studdard). My friends who love Danny do not listen to Christian music. I listen to mainstream music, mostly R&B/Soul, Pop and lighter Rock. I resent when any of the writers say that Danny only appeals to people who like Christian music. Danny has many fans of all different ages, backgrounds and music interests. I wish they would stop implying that he cannot do mainstream music and be successful.

    HI EVERYONE!!!!
    I have so missed all of you I cried and cried when I read all the emails and the concern for me..Well remember when I told you all I was not feeling well..Well last Saturday night I got really bad pains doubled over and had to go into emergency right away I really thought I was leaving this earth that is how bad it was..I have not had pain like that ever..in my life They started doing tests and found a gallstone stuck by my pancreas..

    I was immediately brought into surgery and they removed it then I had to have a gall bladder test and found out I needed to have another surgery..oh my gosh this week has been soooo awful for me I have been in soooo much pain I cannot tell you..I wanted to get to a computer and write but I could not I really needed all your prayers..But anyway I just got home from spending a week at the hospital and last night tried to lay in bed and had excuciationg pain I thought I would end up back in the hospital for sure today.. I could not lay down at all I slept on a chair all night long its going to take awhile to heal but I thank God he was with me the whole time I could not have made it though this without Him..anyway I love all you Gokey girls so much and missed you and all the Danny news that I missed out on too..Also cant wait to get back to singing again but it will be a little while here..

    I dont even know did Danny get a record deal yet?? anyway I am back now and soooo appreciate all the love and concern..You will see on my twitter from time to time as I heal I cant sit very long at the computer right now because the pain is very strong still..Again thanks for all the love and concern..

    Cheryl – I think they want to box Danny into Christian music so his appeal will not reach the masses. Danny has almost 90,000 followers on twitter more than Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry. I think that statement says alot in and of itself. Danny has broad global appeal to all type of people, and he has said many times he doesn’t want to exclude anyone, so he doesn’t just want to do gospel/christian music.

    When Deb didn’t visit us and wasn’t on twitter, I got really worried and it made me realize that although all of us who chat here on the site don’t know a lot about each other, we know each other enough to care about one another and to call each other friend. The Danny connection that we all share has brought us close to each other in a very unique way. I have never been a person who went to chat rooms or blogs so I never understood how relationships over the internet could be meaningful, but now that I have spent so much time with all of you I realize that it doesn’t matter that we don’t see each other in person, we still care about each other and we have each others back.     Hi Cheryl– I was trying to get out of going to work today, but I guess my manager is not havin it; work was particularly difficult yesterday so I am exhausted today but still I have to go to work ( I did not sleep well last night only two hours, so I feel like a bummer!!). I wonder if 19E or some of the record producers are trying to shape the opinion of the public by indicating that there is some confusion about what genre Danny fits in, because they know Danny is going to be a competitor in the market if they signed him?? My speculation is that they want to diminish competition for the 2nd PLace winner of American Idol in season 8 ( ADAM); they really want to market him so they can change the direction of the music industry more towards ROck/pop, Electronics: if the record industry reduce his competition, then they have a better chance to market him more. As soon as the AI show was over, they immediately marketed the 2nd place winner over Kris; they did enough for Kris to make it look good, but I did not see the same vigilance in marketing him. However, if Danny was signed, he would get just about as much media attention as ADAM; therefore, the strategy for marketing the 2nd place winner probably won’t move as fast or flow as smoothly as it has!! Well it’s just a theory.

    Welcome back Deb, Glad you are Okay and recovering well from your surgery.

    Below is a review from MJ’s from Michael of the Tampa concert:

    Danny comes in to the “PYT” intro, and rocks it out with his powerhouse vocals on full display. “Maria Maria” was good, even with the clumsy dancing. “What Hurt the Most” was one of his best during the season, and he doesn’t disappoint with that as his third offering. He gives a brief inspirational talk before taking on “My Wish.”

    While he gives terrific performances on each, I can’t help feeling that it’s really redundant to have 2 slow Rascal Flatts songs in a 4-song set! I think most would like to hear him leave the stage with more oomph, and if it couldn’t be a more rocky number, I’ve always wondered how he’d do on Christina Aguilera’s “Hurt.” (Before you call me crazy, give that song a listen and tell me Danny wouldn’t tear it to shreds. Just sayin…)

    Grade: A-…unbelievable voice, set list needs some tweaking

    When new fans come in here to discuss Danny, it always reminds me of how it was when I first came here.     Lizzy, I think that fan has a point. Danny could have easily done something with more punch, more verve. I could see him doing pop, light rock or more latin influenced stuff (even Livin La Vida Loca would be fun!)

    Maybe the producers thought he should do songs with bigger messages or maybe that’s what Danny wanted. I haven’t been there, but it seems that the audiences are going wild for Danny with his current set list. Even so, I LOVE when Danny turns up the HEAT and LETS LOOSE!! Can’t wait for his solo album!!

    I do wanna share my dream of Danny last night before I forget. It was very vivid like my imagination is, and unlike most people, I do remember my dreams. Some are wierd but this one was so sweet and tender.

    Danny and I were a couple and we were walking along the road after being at a cozy little beach club dancing. It was on one of those sleepy little beach towns in Florida right on the Gulf of Mexico out of Longboat Key. I’m sure both Dee and Stephanie have been in the area. Danny and I were just walking hand in hand, not talking, and I was remembering how lovely it had been, being held in his strong arms as we slow danced. We walked along the road back to our little beach house and got to talking to some very friendly people who also lived in the area. I very vividly remember sitting down on the steps leading up to our rustic little beach house with Danny sitting down on the step below me. He leaned his shoulders back between my knees to rest, and as we chatted with the few other people, I ran my fingers through his thick hair….which was rather long and curly on top, and remembering (even now!) that it was so soft and silky. I remember thinking to myself that I had never before been so supremely happy and content as I was right at that moment with his warm body leaning back against me, sitting on the steps as I twirled strands of his hair between my fingers. When I woke up, the pillow was wet from my tears. I can even still remember the soft tropical breeze and the smell of the ocean before us. Even now thinking about it I get teary eyed. I am such a sentimental wuss when it comes to my thoughts of Danny and this dream was just so beautiful. Probably boring to y’all but I have never before had a dream with him in it.

    Shirl I love that dream! the best kind of dreams are the ones you wake up feeling like it really happened and you get warm inside and kind of emotional. Your dream sounds like one of those kinds of dreams.

    I have had a couple of Danny dreams. One was about song choices and it happened at the end of the Season and in the dream I was talking to Danny about different song choices that I thought would help him win and for every song I gave him, Danny told me he already tried getting approval on it but couldn’t so then I got very frustrated and woke up all upset.

    The other dream I had was sexual so I can’t kiss and tell!

    I don’t think Danny would be as successful in CCM music; I have never and will never listen to that type of music(I’m a strong christian but just prefer my religious music in church) and I think Danny knows his appeal extends way beyond that market and includes many people like me.
    Latrece, interesting comments on competition re top 2 Idols; I guess its possible 19 is pushing Danny toward country because they are afraid of competition within decreasing sales for all, and no one is country this year. Having said that, a soul/country new sound (even tho I’m not country lover) might be good for DAnny and his fans.
    Deb, I had my gallbladder out too, and felt so much better after! Its not too hard of a recovery, about a week. Hope you feel better soon!

    A heads up for everyone- I was at a haters site last night and saw a members thoughts posted there (from here). Be careful what you post as far as intimate thoughts if you don’t want to risk having them posted at those sites for the members to make fun of. They may not be evil, but their actions are.     Yes, Latrece. I am not familiar with either the cities of Baltimore or Philadelphia. I’m legally blind in one eye and cannot see well enough out of the other eye to be quick to read route signs and street signs in heavy traffic.

    No one I know would want to go with me, and especially stand outside with me while I wait to meet Danny. My hubby would go with me if I insisted but he has no interest in AI and I wouldn’t want to make him go as there is no way he’d want to wait hours on me waiting to see DANNY! LOL! I may be in the minority here but I wouldn’t want to go to all that trouble to go to the concert and not at least TRY to meet him. Also, because of some meds I’m on for a few other health problems, I have to avoid direct sunlight which makes waiting to meet him during the day before the concert, out of the question.

    I feel bad about it and I get depressed about it, but I’ve kind of accepted it as it is what it is. I will be content to live vicariously through other fans’ stories and experiences, photos and videos.

    About the record deal, I also think that Danny is very smart and is going to make sure the record deal suits him perfectly.     Yes, Latrece, these computers do get slow sometimes. It drives me crazy. Thank goodness I have a computer guy that I sleep with, my husband, ha. He usually does his magic on it and then I’m good to go. But yes, if they are older computers it’s always a good idea to get a newer one. We have been talking about a Mac computer. That’s what he really wants our next one to be. They are more expensive than the PC’s of course. That’s our luck. We always want the most expensive things.

    Latrece I did not intentionally ignore your question, I have been jumping on and off the site all day because I am at work, and I didn’t see your question until you pointed out that you asked one! Oops!

    Now that I read it, it is a very good question and your theory just might be absolutely right. I agree that 19E is possibly worried that Danny might shine as much as Adam. I think they are trying to push him into the country music thing because it won’t be seen as much of a competition with Adam because the genre is not competitive with rock or electronic or whatever it is that Adam is doing. They are highlighting him much more that Kris and so I think they don’t want Kris or Danny competing with Adam. If your theory is true then maybe 19E is not the best company for Danny to sign with, because he will only be able to do what they want him to do and they will promote him in the way that wont’ complete with Adam.

    Latrece I am not familiar with all of the labels, and it’s really confusing because a lot of the record labels are connected with the same company (i.e. Sony is part of 19E, Arista may also be a part of 19E. what I do think is that Danny may want to sign with a company that he knows will be behind him 100% based on his talentand his mission with the foundation, not on whether he will compete with another Idol. But, if 19E signs Danny with Sony/Nashville they may promote him very heavily because they don’t have another country idol this year and he won’t compete with Adam as much as if they signed him with Sony/RCA or Sony/Jive. I guess I am very cynical about 19E. I think they can’t be trusted completely to do what is best for the Idol (Danny).

    Is it possible that 19E is worried that Danny might over take their American Idol, Kris. After all they were the most alike with their singing. That would make AI look like a loser if Danny signs with another label and Danny out-sells Kris’ albums. So it might be all about Danny and Kris and not Danny and Adam, since Adam sings hard rock and that’s not the kind of music Danny will be singing. What do you two think?

    I’m very worried about Danny’s voice. Although he sounds good to me every night and sometimes his hoarseness adds to his sexiness, I know that his voice needs a rest. It makes me nervous that there are a string of concerts coming up that give him almost no rest. I don’t presume to know what Danny is like on his off days, but he doesn’t seem like the type of person to rest a lot. He seems to have a Type A personality. He seems like the kind of person who has to be active constantly. And, I think he like to talk (based on how much he engaged with the judges on the show). I just don’t see him resting his voice that much. Hopefully there are medical advisors on tour that make them rest their voices.

    I think Danny’s voice is tough, and recovers pretty quickly. It may have been more salt water/sunburn that got to him before.
    As far as labels go, I always wonder how much the foundation throws a wrench in things too. But I trust in Danny, he is a smart guy and has hard work/lots of fans on his side.
    I didn’t mean to imply anyone curb their thoughts on Danny, I know I don’t and don’t care if they ridicule me at all (prob. one reason I don’t mind hater sites and will defend Danny-I don’t take it personal, and actually laugh at them ). But I just thought some of you may want to know what you write may appear elsewhere.

    I am also jumping in and out of the conversation being at work. For what it’s worth. I think Adam is extremely talented performer, singer, entertainer. However, I feel that his flash for the moment may not be long lasting. I don’t think Danny and Adam are competing for the same audience at all.

    19 has to see Danny’s broad fan base and huge appeal on tour. No bad reviews, load roars when he takes the stage. Some louder than Kris, some equal to Kris. I think they may be worried that Danny will compete with Kris for sure. Adam and Allison seem to be heading off into their own “Rocker” world.

    Yes, Karen, that is the key to his success, him being promoted 100%. I do think that’s his best avenue for a successful career, Country. And we all know he will actually be a cross-over artist anyway with soft rock and any other kind of music.

    Soft rock/R&B/Latin all disguised as Country. Country used as a stepping stone to his new kind of music.

    Karen Ron and I have not discussed where we will go on date night. He suggested a movie, but that will cut into my Dannytime and I wouldn’t be able to listen to the cellcast.     Latrece – I enjoy trying to figure out what direction Danny is heading. The problem is, no one really knows and the suspense is killing us fans. Because we love his music and we want more, and more, and more Danny!!! He creates this incredible demand for more and we can’t wait.

    I am no record expert, but I do know that he has mass global fan appeal for a lot of reasons and it just keeps growing. From the U.S. to Asia, to Europe – Danny Gokey is just wildy popular.

    What’s best for Mr. Gokey is maybe taking his time to figure it all out. But if he waits to long, the opportunity will have passed him by.

    Stephanie — I know Danny has expressed that a woman has to be the total package (which is great), but I don’t think he is looking for a replica of Sophia; I think Danny has a set of personal values that he thinks is critical to a relationship; such as, family oriented, spirituality, humanitarian, loves children and etc. that is essential to building a quality of life and fulfillment. I don’t think it’s wise for anyone to have to be concerned with being compared to someone else’s previous relationship or partner nor should anyone have to be concerned with living in someone else’s shadow. Hopefully, Danny will respect and embrace his new relationship with all its uniqueness and special qualities that it could bring to his new found journey in life !!!

    Stephanie That is so nice that your dad sang to you. My mother had a beautiful voice and she sang to us all the time. Her singing to us is one of my favorite memories of her. she sang so much that even when I married Ron he came to love hearing her sing. When she was on her death bed, Ron asked her to sing one of her favorite songs and they sang it together, it was so touching. So I know you will always remember your dad singing to you too.

    How is everyone tonight?

    Okay, guys, here is my problem. I don’t have a ticket to the concert in Charlotte tomorrow night, and Charlotte is about a 2 hour drive from here. I just started working again, and don’t have much money this week for things like gas, or god forbid, if I get a flat tire or the car breaks down (not that it should, but you never know). There is also the small chance that Danny may not come off the bus to meet fans. I know most of the time he does, but there’s been a couple of times he hasn’t for some reason or another. So if I drive to Charlotte, and he doesn’t come out, that’s 4 hours of driving for no reason. Also, I do not have a gift for him! That will have to be later on, when I have more money to spend.
    On the other hand, I really, really, really want to meet him, and if I stay home and find out he came out before the show to meet fans, I will hate myself! Also, if I go and he comes out and I get a hug I’ll be elated. So I’m really torn about what to do. Should I go or shouldn’t I? What do peeps here think I should do? This is a very tough decision. Opinions please? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

    Someone asked whether I tweeted Danny my poem. I did, a few weeks ago. I never found out whether he got it or not though. Thanks for all your nice comments. :)

    Helio well there was a gilr in Tampa who drove to the arena from Orlando just to see Kris. she didn’t have a lot of money either, but some of her friends chioed in for gas money and even gave her a pic for him to sign…I know that this isn’t a definite yes or no answer, but her perdicament is very similar to yours. sad thing for her though, she waited all day and when she left for 10 minutes to go to the bathroom, Kris came out and she missed him! BUT some woman gave her her ticket to the concert which was really sweet! :-)

    Oh man, Helio, that is some dilemma! It’s such a gamble to drive that far if you are short on the money…and then not even get to see Danny outside. Yet OTOH, if you find out he came out and you would have gotten to meet him, you’d be kickin’ yourself in the fanny. Can you get anyone to go with you for company? I think if you don’t have any problem with finding the venue, if you’re familiar with the area, it would be worth a try. Then at last you will know you TRIED.

    I don’t follow the two girls on Twitter who got to meet Danny today in Duluth, but from what other fans said that I do follow, they lucked out and got to meet him, so he came out to meet the fans before tonight’s concert.

    If you should definitely decide to go, we could tweet him and tell him to be sure to look out for you, which we usually do when one of us is going to the concert. But we’d need a description of what you’re wearing or what you look like or some other sign that he would recognize you.

    Helio You should only go if you are comfortable with accepting that he may not come out to greet fans. If you are comfortable knowing that you made the attempt even if you don’t meet him, then you should go. Also, maybe you will be able to buy a ticket for the show from someone at the venue.

    I haven’t read any of Danny’s real time tweets for awhile, but I remember the last time I did, there were some real humdingers he got from some fans! Some rather desperate, and some kind of funny, but those who think he is going to connect with them, just a mere fan, wanting him to DM them so they can get to know each other, and talk privately……hooooo boy, say hello to fantasyland!

    But if the one girl’s phone number is on Danny’s favorites, I think that just happened, and not because of anything he did.     Cheryl that pic reminded me of the dream that I had about Danny a few nights ago! I told Shirl taht I would share it so here it goes. It’s not as detailed as hers, actually its kinda simple, but it felt so realt that when I woke up and realized that it was just a dream I cried a little! lol! ok so in my dream, I was sitting outside somewhere on a bench waiting for someone. I didn’t know who it was that I was waiting for. Then Danny comes walking up to me with a bouquet of flowers! sooo sweet! anyways the dream was not one of those out of body ones where you see yourself, I was “in my body.” anywasys he sat down and gave a little peck on the cheek and we started talking for a while (I don’t remember about what), but at the end of the convo he looked me directly into my eyes and it felt like forever (in a good way). then he leaned in and gave me a kiss!!!! The strange thing about it though is that I could FEEL the kiss! I felt his lips and his scruff! It took my breath away! then he just looked at me and smiled. It gave me this nice warm feeling inside! But oh how real it felt! :-) le sigh!

    I will tell you about my dream, although I won’t go into all the details. I was sitting on the side of a swimming pool, afraid to dive off of the high dive. Danny all of a sudden is there asking me what is wrong. I tell him, and he said I’ll go first and you can watch. So he dives off and he is swimming under water toward me (somehow I am at the other end of the pool waiting). When he gets to me he has no swimwear on. He pulls me down into the water and starts kissing me and lots more happens but I won’t go into detail. It was one of those dreams that felt like it really happened and I woke up in kind of a sweat, and it felt so real that I did try to go back to sleep to continue the dream, but I couldnt’ fall back to sleep because I was thinking to hard about what just happened.

    i dont know whats with the fans of that other idol have. i dont want to mention their idol’s name anymore. AI is over and still they are bashing danny out of nothing. they still consider danny a threat. actually i do believe out of the other AI season 8 contestant including the eventual winner, danny is indeed commercial threat to their idol. we have witnessed the tour and always danny has the 2nd loudest cheers after their idol. its consistent except at AR. some reviews even mentioned that danny was the most engaging among all ai contestants. another says he has the most intimate set.

    “you know who” fans are really insecure, they want their idol to be the most successful of this batch. they know the winner wont be More successful than “you know who”. so their picking on danny who has a real shot on making huge impact on the music industry. and clearly they are afraid of that. they are overprotective that they dont want anybody else overshadow “you know who”

    Thanks for all your advice about tomorrow. It’s a dilemma alright, and I still can’t make up my mind. I will probably just sleep on it tonight and if I do decide to go, I’ll post here tomorrow morning w/a description or a picture before I leave so you all can tweet him for me! (I won’t be able to tweet him from my phone). If I don’t go, well, then I guess you’ll see me around here tomorrow.

    Shirl, that is some dream! Really beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. Just think–some lucky girl will get to experience moments like that with him fairly soon! Too bad it won’t be me, but I want to see Danny fall in love again because he is definitely the sort of man who thrives when he’s in a committed relationship. He’s a romantic, I can tell, and whoever he falls in love with will be treated like a queen.

    I’ve thought for quite a while now that 19 does want to sign Danny or has even already signed him, but can’t make the announcement yet. I think they were either (a) waiting to see what sort of response he would get on the tour; or (b) were strategizing how to best market him, and what sort of music genre he would best fit into (he’s not as easy to categorize as Adam, Kris or Allison). There have probably also been logistic/legal issues in attempting to fit SHF somehow into his music. So all these things have probably contributed to the delay.

    I also always thought AI preferred Danny in the finale over Kris, who I don’t think they wanted in the finale at all. They signed Kris right away because they had to and also because they recognized Kris’s talent and marketability, but I don’t think they have been promoting him very much and the response to him on the tour has been lukewarm for a winner. Someone mentioned another delaying factor could be the fear that Danny may outshine/outsell Adam.
    Adam and Allison may outsell Danny initially, but over the long haul, I think Danny’s album will have far more staying power, because unlike Adam and Allison, Danny’s style appeals to people of all ages. I’m not a huge country music fan myself, but I do like some country crossover, which is often sung without a twang. Danny could do well in that genre, and I think he could actually cross over into mainstream pop or even soft rock. I love r&b/soul, but I think that’s a harder market for a white man to break into, and therefore wouldn’t be the best road for Danny to take.

    PJGVet, what hater blog did you find those quotes from a Danny fan on? I ask becauase VFTW has actually quoted my posts on several occasions. They went so far as to call me a Cook-tard jumping on the Gokey bandwagon, LOL. At first I was mortified I was quoted on their site, but in a weird kind of way I was flattered. Actually, it’s pretty hilarious, but I’m careful about what I post now because I don’t want my deepest and most sexual thoughts about Danny being laughed at by a bunch of haters! But of course that’s nothing compared to what Danny has been through. He must be very strong to know what’s been said about him and let it roll off his back the way he does. Of course it hurts (he’s human after all), but I think most people faced with what he’s had to go through this past year would have gone insane.

    That said, the haters seem as obsessed as we are. They follow Danny’s every move and hang onto every word he says. I think some may actually be closet Danny lovers. I remember one girl on IDF who was a hater came over into the Danny forum once and said she couldn’t figure out why she was so sexually attracted to him! I think Danny brings out strong emotions in people, and very young people or those who avoid too much strong emotion get scared by that and become haters, because they’re afraid. All hate is derived from fear.

    Helio I agree with almost everything you said. However I do think Allison and Adam have real staying power. Allison does because she is so young and she has so much talent that has yet to be tapped. I think she is the next Kelly Clarkson, only more successful. I think her music is going to tend toward very hard rock. Adam will be successful because Hollywood, New York and the music industry love this guy. They will promote the heck out of him – they already are. Adam is the next David Bowie or Freddy Mercury. And I also think he will do rock musicals on Broadway. I do think his audience will be much more narrow than Danny’s because I agree with you that Danny appeals to all age groups. Adam appeals to a very specific edgy audience. Danny’s career will be more like Carrie Underwood’s. I also believe Danny will do other television appearances, perhaps Dancing With The Stars, because I think he will want to get SHF out in the public eye and the best way to do that is through television promotion. By doing television he will expand his audience even more.

    Heliotrope66 – I am going to weigh in on your decision to go to Charlotte. Danny is like a magnet and we are all drawn to him. As you know from Stephanies journey – there are no guarantees. If money is an issue, I don’t think I would take the risk. If you had a ticket to the concert, you could at least here him live.

    One the other hand, life is short and if you don’t take risks you never know where you will end up.

    How that? Clear as mud for ya?

    In the end it’s your decision. You will know what is best for your situation!

    Stephanie I’m with you. I can’t imagine liking AI as much as I liked Season 8. In a way I think it will be depressing to watch because I will be reminded of how much I miss Danny and how much I wanted him to win. I know for a fact there will never be an idol or celebrity that will have the kind of affect on me that Danny has. Nobody has in the past and nobody will in the future.

    GMTA! Cheryl, I was just about to suggest that Danny throw his hair into the audience next, after the jacket, and you got there first with the thought!

    But OMG, just the thought of having his jacket! Just thinking how delicious it would smell with Danny’s scent on it makes me weak in the knees!

    And as for other seasons of AI and other Idols, I always had one or two that I really liked and that I hoped would win, but when the show was over and the Finale ended, it was out of sight, out of mind. Never in a milion years did I think I would ever get a crush on ANY idol to the point where they are all I think about and all I dream about and how much I would love to just touch them! Move over in that padded room we’re all gonna be in when the tour ends because the men in the little white coats are gonna come after me!

    We will have withdrawal symptoms for sure but after the tour, it will be like any other recording artist…..fans wait for the next new album, watch for articles and photos and media attention, TV interviews, and hopefully a tour. Let’s enjoy the ride while we can right now, ladies!

I think it will actually be difficult for Adam to have staying power in the Rock world; I think they are less accepting of Idol people, despite heavy pimping by Idol and 19E; he may have better luck in rock musicals etc. I think Alison has a better chance for some reason; maybe because she is so young and unmolded still and has more of a “rock voice”. I like Kris and think he may actually have more staying power in the record industry with adult contemporary, even tho he doesn’t seem to get the response Danny and Adam do.

    If indeed a fan did catch Danny’s jacket, I’ll bet security would make them give it back. But before I’d give it back, I’d hang onto it for a minute or two just to take a couple real deep breaths and inhale his scent, maybe reach in the pocket for a memento…stick of gum or something…before I’d hand it back. But if someone actually did catch it and was allowed to keep it, for sure they would need security to escort them outside and to their car because there would be other fans outside just lying in wait wanting to grab it for themselves.

    I just finished listening to Rascal Flatts sing WHTM. Danny is way better than them. That guy sings it with a twang and he can’t even come close to hitting the notes Danny does. Nor does he put the emotion Danny puts into that song. WHTM is one of my favorites by Danny, now Danny’s version is even more impressive to me after hearing RF’s version.

    I hope he replaced that chain–because that dang thing turns me on for some reason. Every time I see it I want to tug on it–hard–and see what happens!
    I agree, the boots and the hair have got to go. The boots make his long lean legs look too short, and the hair reminds me of a 1950s TV dad. I loved the way he wore it on Regis and Kelly, and he should wear tee shirts more often instead of button down shirts (unless the shirt has several buttons open at the top and bottom so we can get peeks at his chest and tummy). Which makes me wonder–in those homecoming pictures I posted where his tummy is showing, do you think he did that on purpose?
    I do think Allison will be around a while. She has a very commercial pop-rock sound, a lot like Pink. Actually she reminds me of a cross between Pink and Kelly Clarkson. I think Adam and Kris will do well in the industry too. I’m not sure if Kris will get the exposure he deserves from AI/19 though. But he could be a John Mayer kind of artist. I just think Danny may start off slow, but gain momentum over time as his fanbase continues to grow.

    Danny said in an interview that he tries to protect her like an older brother would. I think is was the Larry King Live interview. I do think Allison is like a little sister to all the idols. Danny is like the brother who gives her a hard time but would step in front of a car if he had to protect her.

    Karen I don’t know – the life size Danny blowup doll was not a bad idea either. If we had a little Danny doll we could dress it up and fix it’s hair the way we like it and then send it to Danny to show him how he should look on tour!

    Do you ladies remember the pic of that little doll somebody bought and made it look so much like Danny? Trimmed it’s hair, dress it up, put a little scruff on it, put glasses on it? I remember how adorable that little doll was!

    I bet if we looked at the @ihrtdannygokey Twitter page, we could scroll back to find links to the pages where we had some of those “more interesting” comments about Danny dolls and the like! Then when Danny started to follow this site, we decided we hadda clean up our act a little bit!

    I have noticed that too about Kris and Adam. I have seen Adam the least. I know they say that they all get along and I’m sure they do but some of them are just more quiet and not as outgoing as Danny, Matt and Allison.

    Shirl, I am very frustrated trying to print some of the pics on shutterfly. Maybe you can help me tommorrow. 90% of them say the resolution is too low and then when you print them they are blurry. But they find when you preview them ..ugggh, this is so frustrating. I want to get some 8×10 to bring for signatures. Any suggestions? Shirl or anyone? I noticed in one of the videos they sell photos at the concert, but if you go before how do you get the photo then get them to sign it unless you go after the show??

    Goodmorning ladies— I heard the idols had a phenomenal time in Atlanta, the crowd was very receptive to all the idols; the arena was sold out. ANd yes ladies, DaDDy Danny Did it again!!! the crowd LOveEEd him!! I heard his voice was amazing and people thought he looked HOTTT!!! Gorgeous!!! YAY :) :)
