What do you want to see more of on Idol: Contestants like Danny, (with a natural ability but no formal training/ experience) Kris, (who may not be as powerful of singers but are talented musicians/ artists) or Adam, (Someone who’s been doing this for a long time, to the point of “Why hasn’t anyone signed theis guy already?)
How late is too late for a Danny Gokey record deal? We’ve been hearing about the possibilities for two months now, do you think it will happen?
1:26 Brian Mansfield: I don’t think there’s a danger to the market. Maybe a danger to the Idols. I wouldn’t be surprised if it went off the air at the end of the new round of contracts. It might be awfully hard to keep giving people raises. You know it’s not going to get bigger ratings than it has now. But I hope it’s around longer.
1:27 RichardRushfield: There is always a deal out there to be had- its just a question of what kinda of deal and how big
1:27 Brian Mansfield: He’s talking to the people in town he needs to talk to. If they don’t announce before Aug. 19 (is that right?), it won’t be a big deal. But once it’s done, he needs to get his butt moving.

why do you think 19 did not sign Danny…after all the praise and hype by the judges, it is surprising

1:28 Brian Mansfield: It might actually be pretty complicated, and I don’t know that they’re done with him. I could see some kind of partnership with a company that has better ties to the market where his audience is.
