I don’t mean to sound nagetive with this nut I think that with a Kris/Danny finale Adam would have the advantage

Kris and Adam fans love their bromance and love the fact that they are from group 2 I think they would want someone from Krisam to win but I do think Danny would still have a good shot at the title

I do love the fact that Danny isn’t afraid to speak what he feels is the truth

i went to the website and read the whole article including the comments (though i was dreading to do it) and found one that i really liked (by Nikki). Girls, you should really read that one (don’t bother with othe comments). I totally agree with what she wrote there (assuming she’s a female) except for 1 part, she’s a kris allen fan but thanks to her for defending Danny.

Oh, I’ve stopped reading those negative posts long ago. There will always be people who have to hate on someone…can’t stop them so I just avoid them.

I still wonder what the actual tally was on the night Danny supposedly received the fewest votes and left the show. I still wonder about that, but like Danny, just gotta move on and embrace all the positives!

Don’t let these negative comments rent any space in your brains. A waste of time. These blogs are such a minority of thoughts. There is a BIG world out there. The way I see it, Kris song “Heartless” fits the profile of many people. What is really sad is the webmasters of these sites incite hate to get high traffic. What a legacy to leave. It’s refreshing to come to this site and chill. Not that we can’t disagree about things. It’s just I need a rest for little while longer. I’m sure we all come from different places but it’s nice we all can agree on Danny.

Details about Danny’s meetings in Nashville:

When Danny Gokey was in Nashville this past Tuesday, he met not only with Sony Nashville but with Word Entertainment. But Danny has yet to make a decision about his recording career. “Basically, they were preliminary talks — where we could go and what we could do.”

The meeting with Word put Danny in touch with Mark Bright. He’s Word’s president and CEO, but he’s better known as a producer who has worked with Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts. “He’s someone I’m very interested in working with,” Danny says.

The only problem — Bright runs a Christian record label. “I told him, ‘I don’t want to be signed to a Christian label, because I don’t want to exclude anyone,’” Danny says. “I am who I am and I have my beliefs, but I don’t want to exclude anyone. I want my music and my message and my foundation to get out and touch as many people as they can.

“He was completely okay with that. He was like, ‘We can think in alternate routes.’ It was really cool.”

Wherever Danny lands, his first CD likely will consist of largely outside material, since Danny has chosen to dedicate time to his Sophia’s Heart Foundation and leave most of the songwriting to the professionals. “I’m not fully there yet in my writing skills. There’s a level of writing that just are hits. I’m not there yet.

“I want to be a hit. This ain’t about the money. I know I can make more money writing, but it’s not about that yet. That’ll come. I’m looking for longevity. I’m looking to get my foot all the way through the door.”

Whether or not Danny ultimately signs with either of the companies that met with him Tuesday, there’s a good chance his recording career will take him to Nashville. “I hope so,” he says. “I love Nashville. I hope it works out of Nashville.”

I read MissAnalia on twitter and she classified Danny’s set on the ‘awesome’ category.

He’s singing PYT, Maria Maria, WHTM and My Wish.

He was also the only idol that went to say hi and give kisses after the rehearsal to the 9 lucky girls that were invited to watch the dress rehearsal. Apparently they were hanging outside the arena, hoping to meet the idols and an AI guy asked if they wanted to watch it. The only other idol they talked to was Allison, that they had met the day before.

The part in spanish says that they show Ford videos at the beginning and, after the break, the videos that the idols shot for Disney.

Ah, of course we know Danny is awesome but I get from MissAnalia’s twitter that she’s a Kradison fan (Kris, Adam and Allison).

She said that some sets were good and some were awesome. When asked to be more specific, she said that the good ones were Michael, Scott and Megan.

I’m so happy that Danny is taking his time to decide about the record deal, weighting up what is best for him and for SHF. I hope he signs with Sony Nashville, though.

Danny says he doesn’t want to be labeled with a Christian label because he doesn’t want to exclude anyone. He has a good point.
So, he may just sign with the Sony Nashville, since Word Entertainment is a Christian label. Is that what you guys think?

I think he is so smart to weigh out his options so that he makes the right decision for his music.

Yes, Hannele, I would love to see Danny get a lot more attention in the media. I’m sure once he gets out on the tour more people will be taking notice of him. There aren’t many people who can sing with emotion, like Danny.

Randy Travis, the country singer, said that most singers only dream of having that kind of emotion that Danny has when he sings. That was a great compliment for Danny.

He’s amazing. I love those songs you mentioned and You are so Beautiful and What Hurts the Most. I listened to that one over and over. It just does something to me and others too, I’m sure. These two songs especially just cut right to the soul for me. Danny has always said that music is supposed to reach people and connect to them on a deep level and his music certainly does that to me.

When Danny sings, it isn’t that he is just singing words. It feels like his soul is singing to our soul. I know that probably sounds corny, but I’m not at good with the words and expressing them as you are Latrece.

VickieCarol– I believe the record label will allow him some flexibility with his style of music; the style of music will be the agreement upon danny signing the contract. writing the song will be a collaboration between danny and the record company. David Cook broke the mold with the record Label controlling the singers of American Idol, they will have more input this time.

Sometimes I can be clueless, so never-mind me. Yes, I do remember Danny saying that about the song choice. He let Kris pick the song. Then neither one of them was comfortable doing that performance.

And Simon did say that Danny had a soulful voice like Michael McDonald, a white guy with soul, he said.

You blind, me blind ha. It wasn’t hard, it just seemed as if it would be with the legal stuff before hand.

And when they have you retype what you see in the box. They shouldn’t use letters that look the same whether they are capital or lower case letters. You can’t really tell which is which. Like Ss in that box looks like it could be either one. I had to type it twice, can you tell? Ha

Girls,

I’m going to change the subject…I’m concerned about Danny
signing with Word…It being a Christian label…The haters
are going to have a field day… They’ll say he’s not good
enough to be signed with other labels and that he should
stick with what he knows…I would hate that to happen….
What do you think?? Am I wrong to think that?

OMIGOSH! Aren’t we a bunch of busy ladies today! Been trying to read all of the posts here in between fixing lunch and it sure has me excited about tonight!

karen, I’ll have to take a nap this afternoon too, since it will be 10pm here when the concert starts on the west coast. Right now I am just paranoid for fear I will MISS something! I mean there are other fansites, message boards and forums all over the place, even though I usually call THIS place “home”.

I signed the card for Danny….at least I hope it registered! I’m not too good with following instructions online, I’m more of a “show me” person.

I was about to post the USA Article on here but Erika beat me to it Good that we have all our bases covered!

As soon as I read Danny would be singing Maria Maria, I went straight to youtube for a listen….and I agree that song would be perfect for him! I sure hope someone is able to capture it on video, even if it’s not good quality….I just wanna hear him sing the song!

I see where most of you ladies are hoping Danny signs with Sony and that would have been my choice too. However, did any of you read the comment under the article that was in USA Today? Interesting….here it is:

As much as I would like Danny to sing mainstream music, my gut tells me it is better for him to go with Word Entertainment and Mark Bright. While Sony is a bigger label, they have not always taken care of the Idols they have signed (Kristy Lee Cook). They may just rush an album, give no promotion and if Danny doesn’t sell well, drop him. I just have a feeling Mark Bright and Word Entertainment might be more invested in Danny and he does say he want longevity. Here’s what I found on Mark Bright:

Mark Bright, the Nashville producer whose credits include multi-platinum albums by Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood, has accepted a position as president and CEO of Word Entertainment, a Christian music company based in Nashville. Bright has also produced Sara Evans, Billy Ray Cyrus, Whitney Duncan and Mark Schultz. He began his production career in 1993 with BlackHawk. Bright was previously the vice president of EMI Music Publishing and co-founded the publishing company, Teracel Music. He will replace Word CEO Jim Van Hook, who is retiring after 30 years in the music industry. Bright will be responsible for Word’s record label group, publishing, distribution and church resource divisions.

I AM SURE DANNY MAY NOT SIGN WITH WORD; LET’S PRETEND THAT HE SIGNS WITH WORD, HE COULD SING A VERSION LIKE KIRK FRANKLIN STYLE OF GOSPEL THAT IS NOT CONTEMPARY GOSPEL AND HAS THE POTENTIAL OF BEING PLAYED ON MAINSTREM RADIOS JUST AS ( KIRK FRANKLIN), REACHING A BROAD AUDIENCE, BEING REQUESTED ALL OVER FOR SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, COLLABORATION WITH MAINSTREAM ARTIST FOR SURE. I SEE WHATEVER ROUTE HE GOES IN A POSITIVE LIGHT. I PREFER FOR HIM TO GO MAINSTREAM, BUT IF NOT, HE IS STILL GOING TO FULFILL HIS PASSION. I AM LEAST WORRIED ABOUT THE NAYSAYERS, HATERS OR WHATEVER! I don’t worry so much about the haters and the nasty comments because no matter who Danny signs with, you can be sure they will come out of the woodwork with all their negativity.

What I DO worry about is a label, no matter which one he chooses, might not promote him as much as they should. A good record company will get the word out to the media, push for airplay, TV guest shots, hire a really good agent or manager who is willing to do all they can to really PUSH for success.

What I do like is the idea that he might stick to doing cover songs for his first album since they are alrady established hits that people are familiar with, and we know he will give these familiar songs his own special spin. He’s really got a lot of smarts for a guy who isn’t familiar with this stuff. He knows his own material isn’t quite up to where it should be right now, and he’s smart enough to know he has to establish himself first before throwing his own songs out there.

Oh karen, I hear ya, with playing CROCS over and over and over again. I’m like a lovesick puppy every time I watch that video. I just love the whole thing…the song, the way he sings it, the way he looks into the camera, his hair, that suit, french cuffs, he just looks so classy and elegant. I love the nice tight jeans and teeshirts but clean him up a bit and he just brings me to my knees. I am still amazed that this man can do this to me over and over again, time after time. It’s almost scary.

And karen, I know you and I aren’t going to be able to see the concerts and sometimes I think for myself it might be for the best because I don’t know if I could handle the emotion of actually meeting him and trying to carry on a conversation! I’d probably either faint or just stand there like an idiot and drool on my shoes with my mouth hanging open!
