According to this site, the Idols are releasing a Top 10 album at Wal-Mart. Have to admit they didn’t pick my favorite songs from the season but it’ll be good to see Danny on shelves!

Amy, I agree with you that these tracks aren’t my favorites either. I would have chosen something else for Danny’s song. Do the Idols get any kind of compensation for this new album, does anybody know?

I agree no my favorite choices especially for Danny. Not sure how successful that project will be. I hope Danny updates us this week regarding his talk with the record company he met with last week.

They really seem to have it out for Danny. He has so many other songs that were awesome and they choose this one!
The album sounds like a dud. I can make a better one with the same money just downloading my favs oops sorry I already have!!!
Even Kris had better songs. When did #1 and #2 perform the same song? Is that new?
I seriously hope Danny is signed soon because I am really looking forward to his first CD.

Hello gokey girls!—- I believe our lovely Danny probably will be tweeting less due to a lot of the negative feedback on twitter. At this time, his behavior is appropriate because he has to put a lot of his energy into his rehearsal and maintaining a positive disposition/attitude. Unfortunately, each time he opens his twitter, he has to face the onslaught of haters which can put a damper on his morale. I believe as his faithful fans, we must be patient, understanding and committed to the end. Danny will occasionally tweet us to let us know he is still connected to his fans (which he loves), but the frequency will be less. This is only for a season until he gains his momentum and has what he wants in place.

Did the idols pick the songs they wanted to sing or were they told what to sing? I would think that if they had a choice Danny would have sang another song, like, What hurts the Most or You are so beautiful. I also think they should all have two songs on this CD and not just Kris and Adam. It doesn’t seem fair, especially since Danny can out sing all of them.

Even though I like Stand By Me, I would have picked a different song for Danny. You Are So Beautiful or What Hurts The Most. Even the songs selected for the other idols are not their best songs. I wonder if the selections had more to do with approvals and maybe the songs that are on the album were the songs that they could get the fastest approval on. Whoever has rights to each song would have to approve it first.

Stand by me is good I liked it- but it was not my favorite song danny did..but it grabs you too well everything danny does grabs you@
danny has not twittered in quite awhile but its probably good to keep the last twitter up awhile about adam and danny so everyone can see that they really are friends. I feel so bad he has all these haters on twitter..he just does not deserve this garbage!

deb I have a feeling Danny won’t sign until after the tour. It may be that he is not going to sign with 19Entertainment and so they are not going to release him from his contract to sign with another record company until after the tour. If he were going to sign with 19Entertainment I think it would have happened already because they would have wanted him to start getting ready for his album, like Adam and Kris and Allison are doing. I don’t like that 19Entertainment has so much control over them. If 19 doesn’t want to sign an idol, they can hold them under their current contract for a long time. And my guess is they prevent them from signing with anyone else for as long as possible because 19 wants to release albums for the idols they do sign before any of the other idols get a chance to put out their albums with some other company. I think they must not want Danny putting out an Album at the same time that Kris or Allison or Adam unless they are the ones producing it, so they will just make him wait until after the tour to sign with someone else. I hope I am wrong about this because Danny said he wanted to put an album out before the end of the year and he probably would be very disappointed if 19 didn’t either sign him or release him to another record company.

Cheryl — I agree.. I think we probably wont hear anything until after the tour. If danny really wants to have SHF and his music hand in hand, then he could be waiting for a deal that would allow that. 19E is all about making money.

Jenn As far as I know 19Entertainment has never done anything like what Danny is asking for. I doubt very much if they are willing to allow Danny to give a portion of the proceeds from record sales to his charitable organization. You are right, they are all about the money! Danny is going to have to sign with a record company that cares as much as he does about helping people. He may have to go independent. I found it curious that in one of the interviews that Danny did he said something about people selling out. It made me wonder if in his talks with 19Entertainmnet they have been pushing him to not include SHF in the deal, or, they are trying to steer him into a genre he is not as comfortable with.

All I can say is it’s truly 19’s loss if they don’t get Danny signed with them.
Also, I remember reading in an interview that Danny was asked if he could have chosen a different song at any time during the competition, would he? And he said he wouldn’t have sung Stand by Me….
But really, imho, most of the songs on this are less than thrilling…

I think Danny should sign with Atlantic records. They signed Jason Castro, I believe Clay Aiken is with them as well. Atlantic records does a lot of Charitable giving, so they might be willing to work with Danny on arranging a deal that includes SHF.

I hope Danny just gets the deal and it be a good one for him. I believe the record deal will open up to getting him the exposure for himself and SHF with promoting the album itself. This is Danny first album so he might have to prove himself in sales first.

I can’t get twitter at work, but I heard Danny just tweeted a messge wishing good luck to people audtioning for Idol in Chicago. I wonder if Jamar is auditioning again. I hope so. There will probably be lots of people from Milwaukee auditioning in Chicago. Dany has been saying in interviews how much talent there is in Milwaukee, especially at his church.

karen I probably won’t buy that CD either because I already have Stand By Me downloaded and I don’t particularly like the other idols’ songs. I really only want to hear Danny! But, maybe if Danny gets paid for each album that is sold then I wil consider it. He might donate the money to his foundation.

karen Danny has said he had meetings with 19Entertainment. Do you think they meet with them if they are not considering signing them? It seems weird that they would meet with him just to tell him they are not signing him, unless they do it as a courtesy and to tell him how long he has to wait to sign with some other label. If they met with him and were negotiating with him, then maybe Danny just didn’t like what they were or were not offering. I agree with you that I want it to be Danny’s decision, not 19’s. If they don’t want to sign him they are crazy. As far as I’m concerned Danny was the best Idol contestant in all 8 seasons. I never liked anyone as much as I like Danny. He is the whole package! I was never as upset about any contestant leaving as I was about Danny. I couldn’t stand the idea of not hearing him in the final 2. Truthfully there are not even any entertainers that I have listened too as much as Danny. I play his songs over and over and over. I never get sick of them. I have never done that with any other singer. So, somebody better sign him soon because I want some more Danny songs to download!

As much as Paula and Randy and Simon liked Danny, you would think they would use whatever influence they have to get him signed to a record label. Paula was bawling when Danny left. Wouldn’t you think she would be putting in a good word for him? Same with Simon. He said he wanted Danny to be in the final 2. Shouldn’t he be pushing to get Danny a deal? Or, are celbrities just so concerned about themselves that they just forget about the contestants once they are eliminated? Maybe the only one they really care about is Adam and as long as Adam has a record deal they are fine with that.

This might be on one of the other pages of the site but Jamar auditioned again in Chicago and passed through to the next round. Not sure how true it is but someone commented that he was invited back and was allowed to be one of the first to audition. Of course this will stir up all kinds of nasty talk again, so be prepared, guys.

I kinda agree that we’d probably have heard at least SOMETHING if 19 had signed Danny. I get uneasy just thinking about it and not knowing what’s going on. I also agree with the assumption that if they didn’t sign him, they won’t release him until after the tour, to sign with another label. They don’t care if he’d like to get on with it and sign elsewhere. It’s all about the money to them. Sure can’t have Danny releasing an album the same time as Kris or Adam or Allison and outselling the other three.

Shirl If it’s true that Jamar got to audition and went thru right away I’m sure all the haters will say it is Danny’s fault!!! I’m sure if anyone from Milwaukee makes it thru the haters will blame Danny for it and say they don’t deserve it because Danny is from Milwaukee!
I wonder if 19Entertaiment allows the idols to negotiate with other labels at all during the tour. They probably don’t even allow them to talk with anyone else. All of us are going to have to be very supportive of Danny during the tour so that record companies know how much support he has from fans and will want to sign him as soon as he is out of his contract.
I need to stop talking as if Danny is not going to sign with 19Entertainment. For all I know we could hear an anouncement tomorrow!!!!!

I really don’t think that Danny would have been in meetings with 19E if they weren’t discussing signing him. None of the other Idols have mentioned meeting with 19E and I also don’t think Danny would be talking about it to the media if he didn’t think he was going to be signed. Why would he do that? It doesn’t make sense to me. If the discussion is with Arista (J or Nashville) maybe it takes longer. They didn’t announce Kristy Lee Cook going to Arista Nashville until 30 June last year right before the tour. Blake signed with Arista (J records) and they didn’t announce formerly he was signed until August. I truly believe they are considering signing him but don’t know if or when the deal will be finalized. I’m sure it will be mentioned again in Danny’s Access Hollywood interview because Laura Saltman tweeted about it.
MJ’s and Rickey’s both have a blog about Jamar auditioning in Chicago and getting through to the next round. May be why Danny sent the “tweet” about the Chicago auditions.

I feel so much anxiety about Danny and his contract. I don’t want anything to go wrong for him and I want him to get everything he wants and I want him to get it right away. I will be a nervous wreck until I hear something good about a record deal. Can 19Entertainment prevent Danny from doing something on his own, unrelated to singing? Like if he wanted to go on Dancing With The Stars. Is he allowed to do that? I hope if they don’t allow him to work on an album, they at least allow him to make appearances on other shows.

Well, if Danny and 19 COULDN’T reach an agreement, I just hope word doesn’t get out about that because there is nothing more the haters would like than to start it up again that he has no talent and than no one wants him on their label!
I expect there will be plenty of nasty things floating around on the internet again, once everybody finds out Jamar auditioned again and was put through. I just hope there weren’t any snarky comments from MJ or Rickey in their report because I’m sure the comments to follow won’t be any too pleasant. And in fact I’m not even gonna go there to find out!

Shirl, I definately will not go anywhere near the hater comments on Rickey or MJSBlog. Does anybody else remember that when the season first started Rickey liked Danny a lot? It was not until MJSblog and Idolatry started hating on Danny that Rickey jumped on board with the haters. What a hypocrite. He was singing his praises early on and then he started writing all negative stuff and I guess he just hoped no one remembered that he loved Danny at first.

karen I always thought Simon owned part of 19Entertainment. I don’t get why he wouldn’t be pushing for Danny to get signed. Maybe he is.
Of all the idols this year Danny made the biggest transformation. He was adorable during his auditions (I fell in love with everything about him the first time I saw him) and then when he came on the show he was even more attractive, but by the end of the show he was hotter than any other contestant EVER! His transformation was amazing. David Cook also had a big transformation from beginning to end, but Danny became so hot that he looked like he could be a model or an actor. And, he’s getting hotter every day!

There are tons of pictures of her and Danny and their family. I enjoyed the pictures of their anniversary on a cruise ship. She stated that Danny entered a singing competition on the ship and won.

Karen, there are tons of pictures on the site bebo that I posted above. If you go down to the cruise pictures there are about 48 that Sophia had posted. On the cruise they went to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, swam with stingrays, the pictures are great!!!

karen, I don’t remember the exact names of some of the labels but I do remember Danny saying a few weeks ago that he’d be in Nashville meeting with some record companies. Sure do wish I had the inside story on what’s goin’ down! I sure don’t want to read on some media site that 19 turned him down! That would start up all the trouble again!!!! I’m thinking positive….at least trying to think that way. And that no news is good news!

Everyone, stay positive!!
Our Danny WILL get a contract. Our Danny is busy with tour practice (not many tweets), I think JENN JENN get’s to see him first or close to first out there on the west coast. I have no doubt Danny will get a contract – who, what, why, when, where – no clue and don’t care. Just want to hear his music. I would love to see some you tube videos from their rehearsals!

BTW, still working on contacting SHF for the “Fan Event” for charity. I have left several messages, emails, tweets, etc. I am guessing they can’t tell the real people from the haters???? It is strange that no one answers the phone during business hours. You would think with all of the publicity Danny is getting you would want someone answering the phones and least a receptionist or someone!!

Hi everyone! I posted my comments on a different page, but I’ll repost them here. I listened to some of the interview.
I wasn’t able to hear all of Danny’s interview on WBGL this morning. Something was wrong with the broadcast. They did say they would run it again on Thursday morning. I did hear Danny talk about what kind of record he would like to make. He siad R&B with a latin fusion. But, he also said he would be open to a modern country soul, with no twang. He also said he was singing 3 counrty songs on tour, but with no twang. I know he is singing What Hurts The Most and My Wish, but I’m not sure what other counrty song he is singing. Maybe, Jesus Take The Wheel?
He also said that he doesn’t have a contract yet, but there is work going on behind the scenes and that he was talking to record companies. I was hoping he would say he was close to getting a deal, but he didn’t give a timeline.
I liked his response to a question about how much he was able to talk about his faith while on the show. He said he had discussions with Adam and they agreed to disagree and that it was interesting to talk to Adam about it. He said he never shoves religion in anyone’s face and he thinks he shows his faith more in deeds rather than words. He said there are some Christians who wanted him to go on the show and talk about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus – but he did not do that. His actions spoke for him. That’s about all I heard, so I am looking forwad to hearing the whole interview on Thursday.

Karen: I am not more positive than everyone, I just have made a conscious decision to shut out all negative thoughts regarding the album issue.
Cheryl: Thanks for the information. It sounds like to me that 19 might want to push him into country and he doesn’t want that??? Could there be a creative difference dispute and that’s what’s taking so long???
As far as religion goes, that is a personal thing and it really shouldn’t come up in discussions or interviews (unless he wants to discuss it).

I don’t think any of us fans care what they call Danny’s music (country soul, R&B, etc.) We just want the music!!! We need a fix and soon!!!!! Wish he could tweet some little sounds bites for us.

Still need to know about this Idols Album coming out. Don’t get me wrong, I will buy it, but how is this different from what we already dowloaded on itunes???

Stand By Me isn’t my favorite, but I think it showcases Danny’s voice/style nicely. This CD is probably just for people who don’t have ITunes or missed out.
Re Danny’s album, I really hope he holds out for what he wants; I have a feeling there are two factors holding things up:
His desire to have SHF involved and
I suspect 19 is trying to push him into country because they think they can market him better and there are no country singers this year. I don’t understand that, because Danny is R&B and there is certainly room for that genre, even Ricky Minor said so.

rachel I can’t get youtube at work, but I will listen to the songs tonite at home. I have run across so many songs that I think Danny could sing. His voice is really suitble for a lot of different genres. He could even do softer rock, despite what people think.

It will be interesting to see who’s albums make it. Kind of gives you somewhat of an idea how competitive it is in the music industry.
Even with the huge exposure that is “Idol”, most of these people just won’t make it.
