Danny can’t help but succeed because what moves him is bigger than the music, it is reaching out to other people. The direction he takes will be directed by what is in his heart. I love Danny for his big, big heart.

This is encouraging, knowing that he’s meeting with TPTB at 19. I’m not big on country music either, but just because it’s Nashville doesn’t mean it’s gonna be all country. I think Danny knows what he wants to do with regards to the genre of music he chooses, so I trust him. Whatever he records will be wonderful!
And now we know he’s still in Milwaukee for a few more days. You guys that live there might want to hang out in the neighborhood’s Puerto Rican restaurants!
OTOH…..anything with a country vibe to it will certainly go over big in my area so if that’s where he’s going, he’ll get airplay here!
Danny is not a twangy country singer but the new country is not twangy at all..Its very popish and soulish now..Danny would be perfect for that!!!Rascal Flatts with some soul!!=) that is what he did to what hurts the most and it was GREAT!!! I defineltly could see him going down this path..and now singing my wish on tour!! Go DANNY!! we are all so proud=)

Even though Country Music is not my favorite – his renditions of “What Hurts the Most” (Rascal Flats) and “Jesus Take the Wheel” (Carrie Underwood) were two of my favorite. I just want ya’all to know, that I will buy whatever album Danny records and if I have to get out my cowboy hat and boots to do it, I will do it!!!!
I think you all know that Country Music out sells all other types of music combined – those fans are a major powerhouse! If he can utilize the base and crossover with a more “modern country/R&B” he will rock the music charts!!!!

I sooo hope this is true. I don’t think Danny would have given that informaiton to the news reporter if he wasn’t pretty sure something was going to happen with a record deal. That bit of information combined with his tweet on Friday to be on the lookout for news on his album sounds promising. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am not a fan of straight country, but if he does a modern country with a soul vibe! oooh my goodness he is going to blow the charts up, because that flare/flavor will reach a wide audience. Speaking only about demographics, country AND gospel/worship/praise would sell around here big time. Not so sure about the gospel/worship/praise elsewhere though. But 98% of our radio stations are country and there are so many videos on TV on the country channels. Also tons of magazines on the stands all devoted to country performers.
But I’m getting way ahead of myself here! For all I know his album could be full-out R&B with a salsa beat! Whatever! Makes no difference! Doesn’t matter! If his name is on the album, I’ll own a few copies just as sure as God made little green apples!!!!
Carrie Underwood did JESUS take the Wheel and it went to the top of the charts and won award after award so I would say a gospel song could be a major hit!!!

Oh, I can’t believe it! If they had only let the public know that Danny was going to be at an event at that country club, I would have tried to get in! I thought he was already back in LA! I’m going to have to call around to the PR restaurants and find out which is his fave and then STAKE IT OUT! It would be so unbelievable to run into him here!
Another thing, OMG, a $200K donation from Greg Jennings. Come on, how great is that? If that isn’t a validation, what is? And the fact that Habitat will be working with Danny’s foundation, come on! AMAZING!! I’m so proud of Danny. So utterly and completely awed and amazed and just downright proud of him. That lady was right when she said he was our hometown hero, but he’s so much more than that. He’s a NATIONAL TREASURE. !! Really.
And, ladies, I can’t believe nobody commented on how fine Danny was looking in that crisp magenta shirt. He looks great in reds and purples! I think I’ll wear magenta to the concert!

Deb, isn’t it great to see Danny getting the recognition, the props that he deserves? Wow. I love it that these huge packers guys are all in awe of Danny. Aaron Rogers told Danny he was his hero when he gave him a signed jersey. I mean, that’s usually what people tell the quarterback, not the other way around! Danny’s fans are surprising, I’m sure. All ages, races, religions (or not), nationalities…rich and poor…whatever. Danny just grabs you so hard from the first moment you hear his voice!
I love how happy he looks. He is living his life to the fullest and doing great works in the name of his dear Sophia. Who couldn’t fall in love with such a kind hearted man like Danny…who also happens to be SMOKIN HOT!!

He’s such a cool guy. Wish I could be his BFF or even just his Friend.

Hi everyone. I’m buyin’ whatever Danny’s sellin’ – Country, Rock, R&B, Soul, Pop, Gospel. I think he can do it all. I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one who thought he rocked it on his studio version of “Dream On”. So much so that it made me think he could actually do some rock – maybe not the real hard rock, but some of the lighter rock. Is hard rock really popular anyway? And the country songs he sang were spot on. I do think he is best suited for R&B and Soul, but there are a lot of country songs that can be changed to have a more R&B flavor to them. A lot of country songs have a Blues vibe to them. Dannny totally could sing Blues. Whatever he decides I can’t wait until it comes out.

Cheryl I actualy consider arrowsmith to be hard rock and he totally nailed the recording version of it how many octaves was that is full voice? well the end glory note to Adam’s born to be wild was about the same level so I would say 3 octaves but I’m no professional anyone here know? anyway I think after the haters forget about dream on he could do rock

dannyfan Your right Aerosmith is definately hard rock and he did nail it on the studio version. That’s why I think he could really nail lighter rock –more like the kind of sound journey used to put out or Creed. The haters may never forget about dream on because they have to hate him about something so they will continue to remind people of that song. Danny’s got that gruff, sound to his voice which really does suit rock.

I am so relieved to hear that he might be getting a contract. I’m from NY (Long Island) I love R&B, Gospel, Country, Rock. I love music. And I love Danny Gokey’s voice. Can’t wait for his CD whatever it is. I downloaded his songs off Itune and My daughter and I listen to it all the time. I went to change the cd to radio to hear the weather and my daughter went Hey what happen to Danny Gokey. We really love his talent and can’t wait to hear more. I am also so pleased that there is someone despite the ugly that has been piled his way, that can rise above it and be as genuine and nice as he is. I love the way he has memorilized Sophia and that all the AI stuff hasn’t derailed him away from his hearts desire which is to clearly serve mankind. So let them continue to throw stuff at him in the long run it only makes them look bad. Cream always rises to the top.
Anybody notice Danny enjoying his gum on that video from Fox6??? Gotta love him! Made me remember someone on here posting about how they’d be glad to chew his gum after he was finished with it!

AAAh, I hate country! But, I guess that’s the thing about Danny, he makes you love whatever he sings. I will buy his CD even if its country. I do love the Rock guys with a little bit of country like the Eagles or Dixie Chicks, maybe he’d be the same. But how will he incorporate R&B with country? I guess we will have to wait and see……

This Fox News snippet calmed my heart. I was so worried about Danny that I was losing sleep over it. I really hope Danny signs with Sony Nashville – Arista, even though I hate country, just because it’s linked to 19 and those idiotic haters won’t be able to say that 19 didn’t want him… But if he doesn’t get signed after the meeting with the Sony Nashville president, we’ll know that it’s his choice.
If he does go country, I’ll have to buy my first ever country CD! I’ll buy his CD whatever genre he decides to do… even gospel, another genre I’m not fond of at all.
Danny really has this quality in his voice that transforms anything he sings into magic. To tell you the truth, I’m usually a indie rock fan and hate the kind of music that Danny sang in AI (I wouldn’t bear listening to it if sang by any other singer) but Danny’s voice changes every song into perfection and I listen to him singing on my iPod all day long on repeat, since the beginning of the show…
I never had any interest in watching AI before season 8, even though my best friend is crazy about it since season 1. I watched the season 7 finale because of Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance, extracted his Gladys Knight and the Pips performance and deleted the rest.
In the beginning of the year, I remember receiving news about this guy who auditioned in Kansas City that looked like Robert Downey Jr in my ‘RDJ google alerts’. I loooove RDJ so I thought I would check it out just to say ‘Nah, doesn’t look like him at all’. I googled for Danny’s picture but came up empty so I decided to watch the Kansas City audition episode. I must confess that I spent the whole episode expecting him to suck. AI made all this drama about ‘a heartbreaking story you won’t wanna miss’ that I kept thinking “oh my… if they’re going through all this effort to highlight this guy’s backstory, that’s probably because his voice is not that great”. When Danny opened his mouth and sang ‘I heard it through the grapevine’, though, my heart was forever captured and, just like that, I was a Danny Gokey addicted.

I don’t post here as often as I did but I wanted to say how great this news is! Sony Nashville is a huge deal and I hope it comes to fruition. Country music was born from the blues so I think Danny can certainly have a career in country radio. There’s always the chance for a crossover hit too. I think this could be the perfect path for him.
this is just why danny is so endearing–he’s staying true to his mission and purpose. He’s not rushing into things and he doesn’t compromise. And I know that whatever type of music he will make, it will definitely do well… I’m sure everyone of us will make sure about it!

I have to confess that I NEVER listen to anything county unless I’m in my sister’s car LOL. I actually didn’t know that Jesus Take the WHeel or What Hurts the Most WERE country. THey don’t sound that way to me, at least when Danny sings them! Then on the AI finale, hearing Keith Urban do “I wanna kiss a girl” made me think, this is a song that Danny would sound GREAT on, too. I have realized that country today is not the country western of my parents’ generation.
If Danny is gonna make a “country” album, I know it’s gonna be a huge crossover thing, not at all straight up country. But like all Danny lovers, I KNOW he can sing anything. I know he could sing rock, too, but really, that’s not what Danny FEELS, he’s said as much himself. So, bluesy, soulful, country whatever, it’s gonna be Danny. And it’s gonna be SMOKIN!!
