Well TMZ took what danny said out of context. Danny was really saying oops! because he was not supposed to be singing, he was not denying that the big perk is the money. He was elated about the money and what it can do for his future endeavers; what is wrong with singing for money? I believe danny’s motivation goes beyond money, but come on! danny was brought up in humble beginnings, shouldn’t he be happy to make money?!

I tell you these TMZ manipulators. Of course we know the haters are going to be out full force!

Oh, girlfriends, let that dirty water run off your backs! That’s what Danny’s doing, guaranteed! If you can hold back, I’d say stay away from the hate sites cuz they only feed on defensive comments. Keep putting positive vibes out! Danny’s held his own through the WORST imaginable situations that all came down on him at once. Can you imagine his life before Sophia died? Happy, driving his semi, singing with the peeps at church, loving his beautiful girl, NOBODY hating him. Now, it’s all crazy different for him. Yes, there is the rush and excitement of being recognized for his talent, for being famous, for feeling the love of masses and all that is amazing and great, but he’s still had to ignore, look past, rise above all the hate out there that’s come with the fame. Oh, Deb, I couldn’t disagree with you more. Really. One of the things that I constantly marvel at about Danny is his inner strength, his ability to see beyond the ugliness, and his steadfast belief in who he his. When you really know who you are and believe in your abilities like Danny does, the haters can’t get to you. He’s said as much himself.

I do know what you mean, tho. But I am practicing keeping my cool. I am trying to take a page from Danny’s book. And it’s working! I feel so much better by not letting myself get invested in the crunk out there.

I hope you know what I mean. Don’t take this the wrong way, cuz I know you are just as protective of Danny as I am. But I just love how he keeps showing his class and doesn’t stoop to their level no matter what. That makes me so proud of him!

deb I know it hurts to hear all the hateful things being said because you care so much about Danny and his success. It’s hard to hear it because none of it is true and Danny does not deserve the hate. Everytime I hear something negative I want so bad to make people see the truth about Danny, but no one is going to be able to change the minds of the haters. Wish I could get a ringtone with Danny singing “Money, Money Money” BTW are there any free ringtones with him singing that can be downloaded? I’ve tried everywhere with no luck. I want Danny’s voice on my phone. I have him as a screensaver and wallpaper and user picture on my computer. Now all I need to find are some Danny sounds for my computer and ringtones for my phone. karen He is really committed to SHF. I’m so glad he is already looking at buildings for his foundation. He’s moving so fast – I think he must believe he needs to act while the fire is hot. I think during the competition he must have been so anxious to finish the show so that he could get started on the foundation. They realy tied his hands when it came to anything to do with SHF. He just seems so happy now that he is free to spend time on it.

Also, Karen, Don’t you wish he could have sang the entire “Hello” song? When he was singing with Lionel Richie I wanted him to sing even more songs, or at least sing all the verses of the songs they sang. When I play back any of Danny’s performances they seem too short. I wish they were all longer. During the competition it always seemed like Danny’s songs were shorter than the other contestants. But, I guess I was just imagining that because I wanted his to go on an on and on.

I need to hear some new songs from Danny soon! Even hearing him sing “Money, Money, Money” was exciting to me. Also, when he sang a couple of words of “Tutti Frutti” on the Kelly and Regis show I got excited – but wish he would have sang more of the song!

I’m sooooooooo sad he’s not in LA right now But i’m very happy he’s back in milwaukee looking for a building! that is sooooooo amazing! i would totally go out there and volunteer to help clean it up and get it going if i could afford the trip, that might be expensive, but it would sure be fun! i’m hoping once it’s going out there that he’ll think about getting a building here in california. that would be awesome!

Cheryl, I’m so happy Danny’s being able to get his foundation rolling.. With the tour coming up, he probably won’t be able to spend as much time on it as he would like. So, like you say, while the fire is hot, he’s got to jump on it.. I’m going off message for minute. I wanted to thank all of you for saying such kind words to me about my husband losing his job. We will be okay, he’s very talented and we are staying positive about the whole thing. He talked again with his CEO and they are negotiating an even longer period of time for his severence. So, that would give him even more time to find a job and to have a lot of time to devote to not-for-profits like SHF. We talked about Danny’s advice that when something bad happens don’t let it define you, let it be a defining moment. This may be a defining moment in my husband’s career and he will make good things happen.

karen ********** for the tours, there’s usually a certain color associated with each contestant – that way you kind of know who’s a fan of who and the idols can see their colors when they walk out to greet fans… that’s why Danny was saying that he was thinking purple – not everyone wears the colors but a lot of people do.

Archie’s color last year was white and Jason Castro’s was blue, and i didnt know that at the time so I was wearing a blue Archie shirt and all these Jason fans kept coming up to me to say hi! ha ha I told them that he was cool too, but i should’ve worn a white shirt!!!! Danny’s color was chosen on the Idol Forums as WHITE, but now danny is saying he’d like it to be Purple… i just hope they didnt give purple to one of the other girls… but i’ll wear purple if that’s what danny wants!

Latrece **** the color he’s choosing is actually for his fans to wear.. not really for him himself… that way like when he comes off the busses and does autographs, like if people are wearing purple, he has an idea that those are his fans.. and if lets say Michael’s fans are yellow, people wearing yellow are more likely michael’s fans.. so it’s a color for their fans to wear!

Who cares what those TMZ idiots say! Pseudo-intellectual celebrity wannabes. The money remark was another mischievous funny remark by Danny that they all laughed at.
You know what they say- even bad publicity is good publicity!
And Love you Lionel Ritchie! You could tell he really reapected/liked Danny and vice versa- their hug was soo sweet.

Michelle: Did you go to the Dinner With Danny or the Riverside Theatre show? I’m in Chicago and I wanted to go so bad, but I had to work the next day. vc was very lucky because she had Dinner with Danny and got hugs. I did see him at the Harley Davidson Museum, Summerfest and the Brewer game. I am going to the Chicago Allstate Arena concert – can’t wait!

Cheryl – unfortunately I did not make it to the “Dine with Danny Event” I was out of town and it was really announced with very short notice. I did make it to the Brewers/Cubs game where he sange the national anthem – needless to say it was fantastic!!!! I do think when his contract with AI is over, he will certainly be headlining at Summerfest and you are only 90 minutes away!!!!

Karen I believe the haters perceive Danny as a threat to the current culture; danny’s mission is completely misunderstood by some. Danny is passionate about revolutionizing the way at risk youth engages in their community; his approach is to enhance their self efficacy through a diverse art form
( music, dance, artisrty and etc), as well as prevent the younger generation from going down the same destructive path of apathy and violence. The turn off for the haters, is that he boldly expressed his faith, so the perception is that his agenda is to evangelize our society and impose his radical belief (which is far from the truth). Consequently, the haters are making a deliberate attempt to sabotage and distort the perception of danny as much as possible; their acts are not just minor hating, it is an aggressive move to hinder danny’s career thru poisoning the minds of those who are against “people of faith”.

Latrece ~~~ That’s pretty heavy stuff you wrote about why people hate Danny. And it wouldn’t surprise me a whole lot if it were true. If so, there are an awful lot of sick people in this old world. And really for what other reason would people have to hate him with such viciousness?! Makes no sense that some view him as a threat to society!

The DJs on some radio show in Texas interviewed Kris recently and had the nerve to ask him if Danny was as big a douche as they think he is. Poor Kris was startled by such a question but was nice enough to come to Danny’s defense and tell them that he’s a great guy. But then the DJ just said he still thinks he’s a douche. To me that is about the lowest thing to call ANY person.

I can understand some idiot clueless fans making nasty comments about Danny but when the press does it, I still don’t quite understand WHY. Yes, it does still upset me. A LOT. I just wish they would leave him the heck alone.

When I think of all the vile viciousness in the press, in the media, none was worse than EW’s Slezak. He went far beyond just being snarky, he was hateful.

And after all that he had said against Danny, (and who I have no doubt knew about it), had the nerve to play nice-nice and invite Danny for an interview. That Danny agreed to it, after all that had been said, all the fun that had been poked at him, all the insults from Slezak and his band of stinkers, shows that Danny was focused enough to accept that invitation and able to overlook all that had gone down beforehand. He was mature enough and self-assured enough to hold his head up high and appear on the show and face whatever was thrown at him. He held his own and I am so proud of him and so proud to be a fan!

And THAT says an awful lot about Danny Gokey!

Well shirl that is why we love danny to the bone. Danny come from a place of rich heritge; he came from a place of diverse background in his community and school, he’s had to overcome social and econonmic adveristies. All of these experiences has enriched him with the desire to play an active and positive role in society, it has given him greater substance, insight and depth to appreciate every opportunity and people who shows interest in him and his endeavors. Danny continues to allow adversites in his life to shape and mold him into a more loving, compassionate, open and wonderful human being!

Good morning ladies! Someone asked if I live in Milwaukee, yes I do, but unfortunately have not had any close encounters of the Danny kind!!! I think he is well covered with his family and friends.

As far as Danny’s success, I can only think that the haters like to focus on him, because they are jealous of everything he stands for!!! When you were child and someone teased you or made fun of you, they were insecure with themselves so they had to put someone down – the haters are the same way – they are jealous of his fan base, his talent, and are scared to death of what his future success might be!!! Remember, we have the power not to read those blogs and not to watch those shows to support the haters. If we do, they will be out of jobs!!!

BTW, thank you to whoever’s idea it was to download the pictures from idol forums and use an internet service to print them and make a scrapbook!!! I did not know you could do that (right click on the photo and save it to your computer). I now have dowloaded just about every photo!!! I may even make a life-size poster or life size card board cut-out (JK!!!) I think Cheryl sent us the link to the idolforums, but there are just so many GOOD pictures of him out there. I haven’t heard the ladies drooling about the picture from the hometown visit where the camera angle is under his shirt and you can actually see his stomach!!!! Pretty amazing!

Bailey– the haters are going to consistently be fixated on every misstep danny does, that is there mission in life (nothing is going to change that), so that should not move us because we as his true fans have a clear and positive perception of who danny his; as his fans, we can see thru the fluff. MICHELLE ~~ I was the one who suggested saving pics of Danny to your computer and then uploading them to a website for hard copies. I use Shutterfly.com and they are great! Very inexpensive and if you’re a new customer, you get a bunch of 4×6 glossy photos free. They also can do wallet sizes, 5×7 and 8×10. When you upload them to their album, you can “preview” them before including a certain pic, and you have the option of cropping. TONS of photos on idolforums and the myidol/Danny Gokey site, Gokey Gang, etc. Shutterfly is fast and easy to use with their prompts. I love having all my favorite pics of Danny (and I have TONS!) in a nice photo album where I can curl up in a corner somewhere and look at them and just drool to my heart’s content. I even have two framed pics of him on my desk.

AND….I forgot to mention how much I love those pics of Danny taken by some fan from Riverside Park in Milwaukee where the wind had blown his shirt up and you could see his tummy…nice and firm and great abs! You can see he’s wearing black briefs as his jeans have kind of slid down on his hips when he raised his hands over his head. This has been the prime topic of convo over on the “After Dark” thread on idolforums where the talk can get a little off-color. But lots of oversized HQ pics of Danny. Many from the Finale when the Idols were all in white where the discussion is all bout how you can see his white briefs under the white pants. Seriously!
