1. Danny Gokey – Danny sang “Come Rain or Come Shine” and told Jamie that he was “really not going to change it up much.” Of course you aren’t. Why start now? I couldn’t stop myself from giggling at the older man playing the trombone being the center focus of the cameras while Gokey made his entrance. You know that guy has been waiting for years to be front and center on primetime television! The first half of the number was good, but a little too safe. Then, the fireworks were launched and the room freaking exploded. Danny blew the roof off the place. Adam fans; be nervous. I’m sure most of you are thinking that Adam has the momentum right now and nothing can trump momentum. Well, hold my hand and skip down the road with me to “What If” world. I truly believe that Adam has a real problem winning this competition if he doesn’t knock this guy out before top 3 week. Why? Well, something happens during top 3 week. It’s when each contestant goes home and the show focuses on one thing and one thing only: back-story. It would be the perfect time for American Idol to remind the viewers of Danny’s past and make it fresh in their mind again. Let’s be honest, no one is beating Danny when it comes to heartstring voters. Especially not an LA-bred musical theatre singer who is so polished he’s see-through. NEVER GOING HOME.
