Danny performed first tonight. They showed his baby picture and we saw him talk about the fact his father told him as a child he sang well at a time that Danny didn’t realize it.
He was wearing black pants and jacket with a purple dress shirt and black tie. I’ve said it before, but Danny looks great in purple! The tie? Not so sure about. But he still looked good!
He sang a unique arrangement of “Stand By Me”. The song started out slow with him singing at the mic stand. The chorus sped up and then the end he blew it up, moving across the stage and using that great big voice he’s got. Usually I get a little nervous when he is singing slow in his lower register but tonight I felt like he put some power behind it and it was a strong vocal. I’m no musician thought, just a fan but I really think he did well. It was probably one of my favorite performances in several weeks!
All the judges were very positive about his performance. Simon did comment the chorus was “lazy” but the rest of the comments were great. Way to go, Danny!
Danny was awesome tonight! I like the arrangement. I really like that he made it his own, which is what I’ve been longing to see from Danny since to me, he’s just been sticking to the arrangement as is. But great! I loved it. Danny’s awesome. & he looked so good tonight!
