We are very excited about our big fundraiser coming up March 11th 2010 at Rocketown. This will be a huge bash to Remember Alex and raise money for the incredible programs set up in his name to help overlooked and at-risk youth. The Alex LeVasseur Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has helped countless teens to date and has several projects lined up to do even more. We would love you to be a part of this incredible event. Tickets are extremely limited and are moving fast. This will be the go-to event of the year, you don’t want to miss it. Oh, and did we mention American Idol’s Danny Gokey will be performing at this year’s event as well!
All proceeds from the event benefit the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Scholarship Program, which helps over-looked and underprivileged youth in Nashville by motivating them in school and in life, and Rocketown which provides a safe, alcohol and drug free environment for youth to enjoy concerts, classes, videogames and skateboarding.
Jeffrey Steele and family created the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Scholarship Program at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, in conjunction with Rocketown/Sixth Avenue Skate Park in Nashville, after Steele’s 13-year-old son passed away January 28, 2007 in a tragic accident. Steele and his family are very involved with this program, which has already made a significant impact on its participants.
This intimate event will include table seating, with a limited VIP section. VIP tables are $1500; remaining tables are $1000; limited single seats are available for $100 each. Wine and hors‘d oeuvres will be served. The event will also feature live and silent auctions.
This is the first of two events the LeVasseur family puts on each year in memory of Alex. The second is an outdoor skate and music festival, which is scheduled for June 2010.

Danny Gokey debuts at #38 on Mediabase’s Top 40 Country Chart

We already knew this since yesterday but now it’s official! Danny made his debut on Mediabase’s Top 40 Country Chart, going from #41 last week to #38 this week, with 639 spins! YAY!
On the country side, Carrie Underwood’s Temporary Home goes Top 10, and Danny Gokey makes its debut inside the top 40 (No. 38).

Danny Gokey Concert in Milwaukee March 6

FM 106.1 announced today that Danny will be playing the ‘My Best Days’ Record Release Concert on March 6th, on the Turner Hall Ballroom, in Milwaukee, WI, starting at 7 pm!
You can buy the CD at 5:30 pm and that will be your ticket for the concert! Danny will sign after the show!

“American Idol” finalist and Sony Nashville recording artist Danny Gokey continues to travel from city to city doing a press tour leading up to the March 2nd release of his debut album, My Best Days.
Gokey and three members of his band stopped in Little Rock, Arkansas on Thursday afternoon to do a radio interview for KSSN 96 FM and I was lucky enough to attend.

I met Toni when she came to Grafton, Wisconsin, to see Danny Gokey in Grafton’s Holiday Parade, a short concert and a VIP Meet and Greet in November 2009. Since then we have tweeted, emailed and talked about our mutual “addiction” to Danny and his amazing voice . (Note : A mention of Grafton can’t be said without a big thank you to Pam of I <3 DG for hosting a group of Danny fans the day of the Grafton Holiday Parade!)
